Atmosphere was great. Make sure you make reservations cause it is a popular place to eat. Not only for the ambiance, but for the food as well. The food pushed it to 5 stars for me cause it kinda is in the middle of no where so location would have warranted 3 stars, the food was awesome. I actually ate here twice. Yeah that good. It’s family style so sharing is caring.

This place is what everyone says. Great and the only thing I would add is to be smart and make a reservation for lunch or you will be waiting for minimum of 30 mins. Just do it right from here. We walked right in and sat down because I booked a resi in the morning

Been wanting to try Star Noodle for a while now but they’re always so busy when I visit Maui. This time I booked a res through open table to guarantee a spot for me. Parking– lot is very tiny and consists of mainly compact stalls. Street parking available. Food– everything we ordered was absolutely delish! My fave was their Pohole(Fiddle Fern) salad. It is so refreshing and perfectly seasoned. The pork bao(buns)were also tasty, dressed with green onion and pickled cucumber. I like that the bring little squeeze bottles of hoisin, hot mustard and chili sauce that you can use to top the pork bao. We also ordered the mixed mushrooms and jumbo shrimp tempura. The mushrooms were yummy and the shrimp were huge.(Probably why only 2 come in an order) we actually cut it up into pieces and the 5 of us were able to share… it was that big. For entrees, we ordered the hapa ramen and pad Thai noodles. Both were very tasty. They make their noodles fresh in house daily which I really liked. The noodles were done perfectly. For dessert we had the ice cream trio which included lemongrass, black sesame and Thai tea. My favorite was the Thai tea! I could’ve ate 3 more scoops of that! We also had an order of the malasadas. They were fluffy and fried perfectly. The sauces that accompanied the malasadas were yummy although I didn’t think they needed dipping sauces at all. They were delish just by themselves. Service– food came out orderly and quick but our server made us feel rushed. She never asked if I wanted a refill on my drink. I understand wanting to move tables quickly with such a small restaurant and a long wait list but I felt like she just wanted us to eat and go. Overall– I’d definitely go back to try other menu items like the Vietnamese Crepes and hot and sour ramen.

Noodles follow me everywhere I go. So I had to try this place on our first night in Maui to satisfy the noodle goddess in me. My husband loved the hapa ramen so much that we came back on our second night so his inner noodle can be satisfied. The pork broth was very flavorful and unique; one that I don’t remember having on my ramen journeys. What’s even more impressive is the price — $ 12 for the whole ramen fixings of roast pork, bamboo, poached egg, kamaboko, and baby Bok choy! The portion sizes for the pad Thai and garlic noodles, which were very delicious, were huge and definitely enough to share between two or three. Both dishes were also $ 12. Talk about value and quality in Maui! The Vietnamese crêpe on the shared plates menu was good, but not the best, compared to authentic Vietnamese places. Nonetheless, it was still delicious and a huge portion for $ 12. The star Kim Chee and mixed greens were also nice additions to our noodles. Though each dish is definitely big enough to be shared, you can order them all half portion for half the price, including the malasadas dessert. Now that is a great way to maximize your dining experience.

Summary: Awesome food. Garlic noodles are insanely good. Quality is excellent and there will be a line. It’s surprisingly worth it, though. My wife and I went to Star Noodle upon the recommendation of her Aunt and Uncle. Given the reviews on Unilocal,it seemed like a good suggestion from them. We opened the place up for lunch on a weekday because we knew that dinner would be super crowded. We were seated at the bar and soon given a rundown of the menu and asked for our drink order. I got the jalapeño margarita and my wife got a pear drink of some sort. Both were good, but the jalapeño margarita was better. Soon we ordered, and this is what we got: Avo poke — We were told that there are only made a small set of these each day and they go quickly, so we decided to go for it. As expected, the dish contained poke, avocado, diced onion and a ponzu-based sauce. The was very tender and tasty with the other ingredients. Extremely fresh and a wonderful presentation. Garlic Noodles — AMAZING! Perfect texture and flavor. So savory and delicious. These are a must! Short rib — This was pretty good in combination with the garlic noodles. Well prepared and nice quality. The flavors didn’t pop as much as a standalone dish, but still well executed. In short, this meal was surprisingly enjoyable and when you come for lunch around opening time you will be able to get a seat without too much trouble. We’d definitely come back again.

Came here with no reservation and it was still pretty early around 5:30. The wait was projected to be 30 minutes but we got seated at the communal table in 15 minutes. So nice. 1) Pork buns– I have had my fair share of pork buns and this is nothing crazy. I was quite disappointed and I guess it is raved her because this kind of food is not very common to the islanders. Skip. 2) Pad thai– This was bomb good. I would order again 3) Garlic noodles– the star of the meal. You can get a small or large and the small was enough since we ordered more but I was sooo impressed with this. SO good. 4) Hapa ramen– Half tonkatsu and half black sauce. I liked it cuz of the name but basic ramen 5) Steak– we got strips of steak but it wasnt my fave

I guess I don’t write enough reviews, another Unilocaler said I should write more… so here I am reviewing Star Noodle. We were seated within about 8 minutes of arriving to the restaurant, we had a reservation, so the wait was not long at all. You will not get in if you do not make a reservation and in weeks in advance. Yes, they are that popular. Star Noodle is not located in a popular shopping center or a popular area, so if it is your first time you might not find the place as easily. It’s not necessarily hidden, except is is by itself with no surrounding businesses. The cuisine here is focused on an Asian flare, featuring dishes that prominently infuse ramen noodles throughout. I would say that the portions are not necessarily family style, rather a more individual style, therefore prompting you to try as little more of everything. Although the price ranges here does limit that a bit depending on your budget. The cuisine here does have some sort of elegance to it, most all of the dishes have a unique taste to it, full of mouth watering flavors. The portion sizes were not for the heavy big eater, rather for the small tastes. We sampled a few noodle dishes and some appetizers as well, they all mostly pretty good. Our waitress was really friendly and helpful as this being our first visit here, she explained the menu really well. She was very patient when addressing our concerns and while taking our order, even when the restaurant was full house and busy. Overall, this was a nice restaurant to try out. It has a uniqueness to it that many restaurants lack. It’s definitely not your normal run of the mill place, give it a try, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. I know I sure did! :)

We are big fans of Top Chef and wanted to check this out. He left for another restaurant Migrant, but the food here is still great. The drinks menu is interesting. I had their version of a margarita called the Stargarita which was just ok. To start, we had roasted mushrooms, garlic noodles, and miso-glazed salmon. We went with the garlic noodles instead of phad thai on recommendation of server. This was good advice and they were very good, but I was expecting more of a garlic flavor. We both loved the mushrooms. It looked like a mix of three. Not a great dish to eat on its own as appetizer, but really nice as a side with other dishes. The salmon had a really nice flavor, but was slightly overcooked for my taste. We were still hungry so we ordered the Kalbi steak(short ribs). This was probably our favorite item, flavored really nicely with a good sear. This place is a little off of the beaten path, but I was not surprised it was crowded because it is definitely worth a visit.

Very, very good food, reasonable prices, great staff, with the exception of the host boy boy who should be kicked out. When we asked about being seated at a particular table(out of 10 empty tables) he made an irritated face of a very important guy who’s just been disturbed by pesky mortals and told us to wait. After 15 seconds, without checking anything or looking anywhere, he picked three menus and sat us at the very table. Huh? Later a very old lady was standing for a while in a queue to the bathroom and dared to sit down on a chair next to a little table with a «reserved» sign. The dude just shooed her up without any explanation. What a %#$(my 8 yr old is looking over my shoulder as I type so I’m not using the words I want). He’s the only reason I can’t give this place shiny five stars. The food, however, was fantastic. Hapa ramen was great, Singapore noodles were super good and miso salmon was tasty. They accommodated all our requests nicely. I will be back, this is my go-to place in Lahaina!

Delicious and affordable food beloved by tourists and locals alike. RESERVATIONSARE A MUST — even with one, my group was seated 30 minutes after our reservation time. Service once we got inside, however, was excellent. We ordered the pork buns, garlic noodles, pad thai, and the malasadas. The pork buns and garlic noodles were great, the pad thai was fine, and the malasadas were very sweet — we almost didn’t make it through them. Overall, good food, but beware the wait. Also, the parking lot’s tiny with tight spaces. Saw a lot of people struggling to find spots and get their cars in them.

Delicious every time. We can never get enough of this spot! The wait is generally 20−45minutes but you’ll often get in faster if you have a smaller party. We generally got seated quickly because there were only two of us and we decided to sit at the bar if it was available. Garlic noodles are a must. Pork belly buns were okay this time — last time they seemed to be more flavorful. Hapa ramen is always my go-to. Food is always flavorful and rich! Bring your appetite! Finish the meal off with the Malasadas… they are pretty good.

I’ve been to this place many times for special occasions esp yesterday since it was Valentine’s Day & my husband has never been there before. Knowing that it was going to be a busy day due to being Valentine’s Day we have made reservations a month ahead for lunch. They’re located by warehouses & church(kinda in a place you would never know, lol). I prefer parking on the street due to their parking spaces are pretty tight. The restaurant looks big from the outside but once you get inside it’s pretty cramped when its busy. I was very disappointed on the host, he was very unorganized & a little lost(I get it, you dont want to work on a lovey dovey day, lol). He kept asking us what name we put our reservations on(like 5−6x). They had about 2 – 3 waitresses, 2 servers(they were bartenders too), &1 bus boy on the floor. The service was pretty average, I was pleased with our waitress she kept checking up on us & was very quick with our order. Our food came out on good timing too, right temp & the portions was just right =) I always order their Steamed Pork Buns(just wish it was more then 3& a little bit big, lol it’s that good). My husband had the fried Saimin, you have a choice of small or large due to being hungry he ordered the large. I had the Pad Thai & the portion was a little big too, super happy. It wasn’t that bad. I’m a big desert person so I ordered my usual: Star Scream, it’s a 3 scoop ice cream-they change the flavors up. I had the Blueberry, Coffee, & Toffee… It was onolicious.

I have mixed feeling about this place. We were told it is going to be a 45 mins wait. OK, we cool with 45 mins, then checked how much longer. Hostess said in 20 mins. Then another 20 mins. You get the picture. I rather you tell me the truth! 2 hours and 15 mins later, we were finally seated. Starving and upset(these freaking noodles better be good). The service was great. And all the food was tasty and good. We order and got a lot of food: Hot green tea — Was HOT and good green tea Miso salmon — Charbroiled with Su-Miso Sauce(Very good and tasty) Garlic noodles — Fresh & Fried Garlic, Dashi, Green Onion(the fresh and toasted garlic makes the dish) Lahaina Fried Soup — Fat Chow Funn, Ground Pork, Bean Sprouts(the chow fun is actually very good) Fried Saimin — Wafu Dashi Broth, Spam, Kamaboko, Green Onions(good but my favie is the garlic noodles) Malasadas — Chocolate and Butterscotch Caramel Sauces, Peanuts(freshly made)

Stopped by here for a small bite to eat and we loved everything about it. Our server was honest with us, telling us that the ramen servings were big enough to share and telling us what was worth our taste buds if we only had a little room in our tummies. We went with the ramen and chicken wings. I was in heaven after biting into those wings! Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and had a bit of heat for a kick. It’s a clean establishment and was tastefully decorated. Huge bar for you and your friends to hang out at if you’re looking for drinks. Prices are fair. I highly recommend star noodle if you’re looking for a change in your Hawaiian choices.

Great restaurant to try when in Maui/Lahaina if you’re craving something Asian. Came with a 20⁄30 minute wait for 8 people — the restaurant is nice, clean, and decorated with awesome Obey posters. Not a huge restaurant, so we were definitely expecting a wait regardless during lunch hours. There are benches outside to sit on. Service was also great with the host checking on us multiple times to keep us updated. I got the Vietnamese Crêpe, which is delicious! Was craving something fresh with lots of vegetables and this was it. It was filled with LOTS of shrimp and pork cooked in coconut milk. Also comes with: bean sprouts, lots of green veggies, carrots. What stood out to me the most was the dipping sauce — perfect fish sauce with something else added that I couldn’t put my finger on. The only thing that I did not like about the dish was how crunchy/hard/thick the actual crêpe was — I think I’m used to it being thinner and not as hard. Everyone else in the group enjoyed their meal as well! Pork buns, to ramen noodles, to the garlic noodles(which I heard was super flavorful!). At the end, we got malasadas which were good — served warm with caramel/chocolate to dip(not my favorite, but hey, still good). Would recommend this place for lunch or dinner!

We saw the high reviews of this restaurant on Unilocal + a few friends had recommended it on their list of places to try so we decided to come here for an early dinner. We came here at around 5:30pm on a Thursday night and were able to grab two seats at the counter immediately. We just beat the rush because the wait seemed quite long shortly after we were seated. It seems like there’s a mix of locals and tourists who eat here. We ordered an appetizer(Kim Chee Wings) and two entrees(Vietnamese Crêpe and Hapa Ramen). The Kim Chee wings were good but the crepes were exceptional. I’ve had Vietnamese Crepes at other Vietnamese restaurants before but these were delicious! The crepes were crispy and stuffed with shrimp, pork, and bean sprouts. It comes with lettuce used as wraps and a tangy sauce for dipping. The Hapa Ramen took awhile to cook but was worth the wait. The pork broth was rich and flavorful. It also came with quite a few pieces of roast pork. I was impressed by how tasty the ramen was. It’s a plus that the prices are reasonable. The appetizers are on average $ 10-$ 13 and the ramen was $ 12. The portions were decently sized and the service was great. I liked the modern and trendy décor also. I would definitely come back again on my future visits to Maui!

Five stars for Star Noodle! Who Hoo for the spicy and crunchy kimchi and Holy Moly the Vietnamese crêpe is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. The crêpe is fried and stuffed with tender shrimp, roasted pork, bean shoots, and on a bed of a delicious sauce. You pile everything into lettuce wraps and a variety of fresh herbs. Top it with the side sauce and wrap it up. Then you have a party. In your mouth. Let’s not forget the noodles. We were so satisfied after the kimchi and crêpe that we only had room to split the hapa ramen. The flavors were perfectly balanced and the broth to noodle ratio was on point. There were a bunch of locals which is always a good sign. Our waitress was super friendly too. Can’t go wrong here!

I can’t believe I’ve never written a review for Star Noodle. We’ve been to Star Noodle a handful of times and it never disappoints. We made a reservation for 10:30. Yeah that’s right, it was the only one available for the whole day/night. It was my mom’s birthday and she was craving the Vietnamese Crêpe. Going in a large group is best because you can order many items off the menu. If you’re in a smaller group you must order the Kim Chee Wings and Pad Thai. We basically ordered every protein available. I remember when the karaage(Japanese fried) chicken was on the menu and I miss it. Our waiter Sean was exceptional. Every dish he brought out was re-explained to the table which as a foodie I really appreciate. The explanation of the table sauces and the hot towels at the end of the dining experience were also appreciated. Sean even offered to add an extra malasada(Portuguese fried donut) to our order because the standard order comes with 5. I’m not a huge fan of malasadas so we declined the offer but love is definitely in the details. The cocktail service at Star Noodle is top notch. Don’t feel weird at all for ordering a craft cocktail at 10:45 am. The mocktails are also not to be missed. I had a watermelon lemonade that was so yummy! So… Make a reservation.(Note: they don’t do anything special for birthdays). Get the wings.. . And enjoy the eclectic menu that truly represents all the best ethic flavors that makes Hawai’i no ka oi(the best).

Great place to dine. Come here early or make reservations(opentable), as it’s a rather small restaurant. We decided to dine here at lunch. The star of our meal had to been their Hapa ramen. So good! We split the ramen and it came out in two bowls(very nice of them). Their steamed pork belly bun was good too. Their kimchi fried wings was okay. We didn’t really taste any kimchi but it sure had some heat to them. If we had more time, I would have liked to come back and try their fried Saimin and tempura shrimp and kimchi ramen. Great place to stop by after exploring Front Street and the outlets!

Star Noodle has to be one of the most popular restaurants in Lahaina. The only reservations I could get on a Tuesday was 8:30pm. Luckily, it’s located in an industrial area so parking is easy. Service was good, friendly and attentive. Food was good too, but I had to knock it down from 4 stars to 3 for lack of Vegetarian options. I am the only Vegetarian in the family, so when everyone else wants to go somewhere, I am forced to make due. Unfortunately when this place is known for their ramen, and they have no Vegetarian ramen, it’s a disappointment. I ended up settling for the Udon Noodle Soup whose noodles were outstanding, but broth salty and fish based. I’m not a super picky Vegetarian, but if you are you may have problems here. My Husband got the Kim Chee Ramen which he thought was good, but it came with a ton of bean sprouts so he ended up wishing he ordered the Hot and Spicy Ramen instead. My Stepdaughter got the Pad Thai which she only finished half of, but still said it was good. My Stepson got the Hapa Ramen which he really enjoyed. My favorite part of the meal were the Masaladas we ordered for dessert. We should have ordered two orders since we had four people, but ended up finding more somewhere else before the end of the trip to feed our appetite. I would come back to Star Noodle the next time in Maui if others wanted to go, but otherwise, I’ve had better ramen in Sacramento, CA. Go figure.
