Great food. Very nice staff! Food took a while but it was worth the wait. Prepared fresh to order.

What a dump! And the food is essentially inedible, way too expensive and very scanty to boot. Tourist trap which must depend on the«They’ll never come back anyway» theory of doing business. Save your time and your money. Stay away — stay far, far away!!!

Service is terrible. 15% tips already included in the bill. Food is American Chinese style, not authentic.

OK I was a little nervous reading the reviews but I figured if they’ve been here six years with an ocean view the food must be Good. The food definitely deserves a five star rating. The problem here is to the servers spoke hardly any English and it obviously makes people frustrated and it did for me. The hot and sour soup was absolutely delicious so was the mongolian chicken that I asked them to make because it wasn’t on the menu and the manager or owner lady who came out and spoke decent English took care of my request. If you’re craving Chinese food give it a shot as it seems like there’s only a couple here on the island. Sit outside and enjoy the view but don’t go if you want a fortune cookie because they don’t have them. Oh and one last thing if they could step up their bottled water game because they can do better than Kirkland water.

If you don’t look Chinese don’t come here. Terrible service and half decent food. We ordered«salte and pepper shrimp». It took over 45 min to come out. Two parties came in after us and got their food before we did. One family also ordered the salte shrimp and got twice as much. Stick to pandas.

Two words: Terrible. Service. It was so difficult for the waiter to understand us because I repeat, he did not speak English. It was so frustrating for us to order what we needed. We were so so so close to leaving. I honestly wish we did, but their food was delish. 1 star for: Their great tasting food. My favorite was the shrimp with black pepper sauce and garlic bakchoy! If you realllllly want good Chinese food, and go without the good service, this is good place. Also a place with an expectional outside view, this is your best bet.

We’ve been coming to Maui yearly for the past 9 years and when we first started coming here, Fu Lin was our go to place. We liked the owner(this is a family business) and they had a few vegetarian dishes. They are across the street from the beach and you have a nice view sitting on the covered veranda. The issue with them is that they have a very small staff and if you come during off hours like 4:00 to 4:30 for dinner, they are not really prepared for you as they turn off the heat on their fryers and ect. So I would order fried spring rolls and they would come out oil soaked, burnt on the outside and at times cold in the middle. They could not get the temperature up in their wok and the food was not cooked properly. Their dishes had too much corn starch and would come out thick and gluey and sometimes very underdone or overcooked. We basically stopped coming here, which is unfortunate because Chinese food is my favorite and there are very few Chinese restaurants on Maui on the Lahaina side. I think that if you come during dinner time or lunch time, you’ll have a better experience as the kitchen is geared up for you. A lot of locals come here and have been doing so for years and like it. Vegetarian cooking is the hardest cooking and some places are just not that into it. So if you are a meat eater and keep regular lunch and dinner hours, it might be worth a try.

Best Kau Yuk on Maui so far. And Saimin was also very good. Great service there was nothing on the menu that I came for so I asked for Kau yuk she said yes I can make anything you want. Oh yeah can you make char soy Saimin? Yes I can so we sat and ordered food took ten min. Very delish and satisfying and no msg. boom! I’m returning.

Went to Fu Lin Saturday night at 7pm with a party of 6. As we walked in we saw an empty shopping cart in the foyer of the place which we all thought was odd. We were seated quickly and the restaurant was busy. When they brought water to the table they only brought 3 and it took us 15 minutes to get their attention and get the 3 remaining glasses. We finally ordered after another 15 minutes. We requested lemonade for everyone at the table and waited some more. When they brought the first entrée 20 minutes later they also brought one single drink and it was pineapple juice. At that point we had just given up with the service and cut our losses. The food itself was good. It’s worth pointing out that some of the some of the local magazines said that Fu Lin specialized in fresh local seafood. The truth is that there was only one dish on the menu that featured local seafood, and everything else was definitely not local and a little fishy. I don’t know if it was an off night or if their service is always that horrible., but consider yourself warned.

Had sweet and sour pork and orange chicken. The pork was easily four stars or higher. Not overcooked as in many other places but tender and juicy. The chicken was three stars. Unfortunately the portions were small. Perhaps the smallest portions I ever saw in a Chinese restaurant. Smaller than two years ago, during our last visit. They cost the usual high Hawaiian price, though Chinese food in Hawaii is not as expensive as other cuisines. Service was quick. We were still able to use a coupon from one of the tourist magazines to get the cheaper entrée at half price. That helped a lot. Just as they did last time, they asked for cash with the coupon and limited us to the middle two pages of the menu. These restrictions are not on the coupon.

I do not know what went wrong with some of the other people’s experience here, but my meal was fantastic. From the service, start to finish, to the atmosphere, which you can’t beat, to the actual meal itself. Everything was great. We weren’t expecting much either. We ordered the wonton soup, which came out hot and pretty quick. The server even poured our soup for us! We then had the spring rolls, which again were very hot and clearly hand made. Best spring rolls we’ve ever had! We also had the cashew chicken, the pork chow mein, and the egg fried rice; all very tasty. My husband and I left full and very satisfied.

I love chinese food. But, I really love amazing chinese food served outside with a view of the ocean and the sunset. This is my favorite place to eat at sunset in Lahaina. The food is good, they have tons of vegetarian options, and the people are oh so friendly. My favorites are the orange tofu, garlic broccoli, and chow fun with cake noodles. The mango smoothies are so yummy. I always leave stuffed and happy. The prices are super reasonable, and they even have a coupon in the local dining book around town. I would have to admit we come here at least once a month or more. Our kids first choice when we eat out as well. They recently added even more outdoor seating on a beautiful deck with a fountain.

Came here with a tour guide the food was inedible and tasted old. The service was ok but the food arrived lukewarm and the bok choi didn’t even look like bok choi. I’ve never had such worst Chinese food in my life. And honestly if you gave this place 4 stars or better you need to get out more and experience real Chinese food it’ll amaze you what you’re actually missing out on !!

Really old building. Really good food. Go when it’s not busy and you’ll get good service. The little boy whose the owners son is a nice kid. My kids were playing with him by the end of lunch, like they were best of friends.

Ok guys, I don’t write reviews often but this restaurant is really a special case. This place is just horrible, the service is bad and the wait time is just crazy! Been waiting for 45 minutes and still have not had a dish come up. It’s impossible to find a server and the food is really mediocre. Please trust me and DONOT come to this place! I’m all about supporting family based restaurants but this one should simply go out of business.

I tried this place as they claim they are the best Chinese restaurant on the island. SONOTTRUE. I ordered spicy chicken and asked if its white breast meat, I was told it was. It was dark meat and did not taste like chicken. The place was dirty and service was poor. My husband went looking for an employee and could not find one to help us during our meal. The coupon was a joke, rice and noodle not an entrée… hmmmm. Lets just say the coupon is to lure you in. The cook/owner upset«people just add soy sauce without tasting». Her words. Why would you say that to a customer?? Lets just say soy sauce is needed as fried rice has no taste. I dont recommend as quality taste and service poor. Stay away from this place and go to Star Noodle!

The meals are always great… the crispy garlic chicken is the best we have had in a long time, the views in the evening are beautiful and the service is great… prices are pretty good also. A must try when you are in Lahaina Maui K
