Don’t be scared off by the cumulative reviews. I’ve been coming here for years, and have had many types and quality of home cooked, Americanized, and«traditional» Asian restaurant food, and this is one of the best, and most importantly, consistent. What I love most is I never leave here with a gut bomb, or feel icky because of the greasiness or excessive sodium or fat. All of the appetizers and entrees I’ve had over the years are delicious, flavorful, and I’ve yet to have a dish I regret ordering. Don’t let the name throw you off; all dishes can be made with meat instead of tofu, though the way they fry their tofu is yummy. Phad Thai is a good go-to, and the Golden Curry Rice and the Pineapple Curry Fried Rice are my favorites. They also have Inari Sushi as an appetizer, and though it’s made slightly different than traditional, it’s another favorite and order it every time. My sweetie loves the Korean Japchae and orders it almost every time. Everything can be made gluten free too! Quiet and on the quaint side, and always great service. Highly recommend!

Don’t have time to read the review? Food is solid & quality, degree of variety is low(not all tofu but all Asian traditional), service is a solid 5. Want to try a new Chinese/Japanese/Thai place but not feeling too adventurous? Go here. I’ve been here twice and this restaurant actually changed hands in this brief period. I was going 5 star at first but now I have to say 4 due to the change. The first time we went with a group of friends and ordered a variety of things that were all amaze! They offer much more than tofu, or even vegetarian. They have beef, chicken, or seafood options as well so don’t limited yourself. My boyfriend had the lemon basil salmon with risotto. It was the best fish and risotto dish I’ve ever had EVER!!! I was interested in the mackerel as I’ve never tried it before. I asked what it came with and was told«a salad I think?». It came as a small price of fish on a price of lettuce with nothing else. Yuck. They also had lavender cheesecake available and it was mind blowing! We promised ourselves a trip back. Went back here with my family on 01÷22÷16. I had been trying to drag my family up here forever as I wanted them to try this place and expand their horizons. It took a lot of work to get my family to go anywhere with the word tofu in it. I was surprised to see a very different menu. Whoops. Still had some of the staple dishes but had nothing unique like last time. Mostly the same old Asian fare but all of it was quality and well done. The deserts were replaced by that rice mochi stuff. Bummer.

I was wildly impressed with the food, the portion sizes and overall quality of the experience. As an appetizer we ordered Edamame and vegetarian pot stickers, both were great. One of my kids ordered Tokyo Yakisoba the other ordered drunken noodles. They both loved their meals. We also ordered pad Thai which was great as well.(We liked that they have you pick a heat level from 1 – 5). Service was great, only two people working so at times it seemed a little slow, mainly while waiting for boxes and the check. Looking forward to coming back and trying more delicious food!

Great food, friendly service. The vegan food is amazeballs! I’ve never had a bad experience here. People seem to be one way or the other with this place, but I really don’t get the negative folks. Definitely recommend the Korean JapChae and the V8 Delights.

This is the BEST restaurant in the South sound hands down. Shrimp Phad Thai and the«special» on the board are my favorites. Warm & cozy feeling serving«comfort» food to me. I go here at least once a month

The service, in all my many experiences at this place, is second to none in this zone. They remember us every time we go and exude kindness. If you’re vegan or vegetarian, this spot is awesome, but they have a lot of meaty stuff too. The interior is also very classy, especially within the context of restaurants around Oly and Lacey. I love Tofu Hut! No regrets.

If there was less than one start I would give them that… Told the waitress we had 4 adults and 2 children… The waitress said they didn’t have room and it would be an hour wait. They had two tables with total of 8 seats available and could have pushed together. Really would have liked to try their food as it smelled good.

Love love love it! My bf and I came here after working an event on JBLM. We shared the spring rolls, some kind of soup and then some green tea mochi at the end. All was amazing!!! And so cheap! Def. a new favorite for us

My parents and I thought we’d try a new restaurant and branch out. The Tofu Hut was great! Our server was knowledgeable and attentive but not overly so. But the food… Omg, the food! We got the potstickers steamed as an appetizer, the Japchae noodles, bul-go-gi, and pineapple curry fried rice. So yummy! All of it was great. I’m used to authentic Korean food and this is the closest I’ve found in Olympia. Even my mom, who hates tofu, loved the tofu in the pineapple curry fried rice! I’d say you should definitely give this restaurant a try! You might see us there trying more dishes!

We dropped by this establishment after a long afternoon at the Hands On Children’s Museum and the Oly Farmers Market. Spouse had a hankering for Korean so this is what we found in pleasant Lacey, WA. Very yummy Asian«fusion» dishes — just don’t go in there expecting authentic Korean Jjigae or Japanese staples. On the other hand, friendly and attentive service at the Tofu Hut. You’re not going to get a lot of wide smiles at an authentic Korean restaurant. ;-) This is not a five star rating only because of the slightly higher prices for the quality — you’ll pay $ 10 dollars in Lacey for a $ 8.5 entrée in Lynnwood/Edmonds/Shoreline/FederalWy. I’d still go back there though, in a pinch.

I normally wouldn’t stop for a place that had tofu in the name, as I do like the mammal flesh, unless I was with Mara. Then that is the first place we’d stop. I know a place can’t survive just on tofu(no one really can). Inside is not really fancy and they have outdoor seating which is nice. I had the charbroiled chicken and veggie plate with adding brown rice for a dollar more. Yummy. Big plate and I couldn’t eat all the rice. Good place to stop while in the area.

I’ve been going to Tofu Hut for years and the quality of food and service has had its highs and lows. On my last visit the food wasn’t as good as usual. However, I took a friend to dinner there last night and the food and service were both superb. The waitress was very attentive. In the past they served some foods on small hot plates but now they’ve switched to big white plates. The servings are larger and therefore the prices more appropriate. We had the V8 Delights and the Pineapple curry rice and they were delicious.

Absolutely authentic Asian fusion dishes with a delicious array of vegan yumminess. The service was cozy like that of a ma & pa restaurant. The owners are very kind too, I believe she cooks in the back. The price may be a bit pricey but you’re also paying for excellent service and authenticity as well as food. I’m definitely coming back here when I’m in the vicinity! :)

I really like the food here. True, some of it is bland, however, it’s tofu. Which is kind of bland. I have gone here twice, the first time I got the drunken love noodles which was lovely, the Korean noodles on special which tastes like my Korean ex’s moms, and fried tofu. Then I came back. Mainly for the fried tofu. They don’t heavily salt it but they do provide salt upon request which I like. I had the tofu bibimbap which I enjoyed as well. Is the price high? A bit, especially since I know the price of tofu, but for a date night with the husband or something like that, I’d definitely go here again.

Delicious and some lovely gluten-free options. The Japchae is amazing, the sweet potato noodles are so good I have a hard time convincing myself to try other things. The fresh spring rolls are very tasty, they could even make a tofu lover out of me!(They also have plenty of meat options, don’t be fooled by the name) I love that they usually have gluten free cupcakes available too.

CON: Price! It’s expensive. I’ve eaten here 3 times now. The reason I am giving it only 2 stars is that as the 2 stars say«Meh, I’ve experienced better» & the 3 stars is «A-ok» which I don’t agree on. I kind of wish there was something in the middle. To begin with«BEST in state» is a huge over-sell. Who judged that? Against what??? Other tofu places? Mmm… not sure. I ordered the pot stickers all 3 times &LOVED them, made perfect, not too soft, not burnt & you get a LOT of them. I’ve never seen an order of pot stickers come out on a long plate with so many. It was $ 6.50. And I’ve also only ordered the Kalbi, Korean style beef short ribs, they are very good, all 3 times BUT for me the biggest draw back is the price, they are $ 18.00!!! I mean that is super expensive, & you don’t get that many of them. And you only get miso soup & rice, for $ 18? If you get an entry at other restaurants you usually get a side(veggies or potato), salad, etc. A tiny bowl of miso soup isn’t going to stave that hunger. My friend who went with me the first time ordered one of the salads & complained that it wasn’t that good, bland & for the price she’d had better & won’t be back. The other 2 times I went with a good friend who does like their Yakisoba. But BEST in state, not so much. So for me it’s «meh» & other than the pot stickers for the price you don’t get much. The portions are small-ish. And there isn’t much seating. I never used the restroom, but if it really is out back, then that is another negative in my book!

Use to go to place all the time when I use to live in Lacey. Went here again with my Mom and its just as good as I remember. We got crab rolls, kalbi, and phad thai. Everything was good. The service was pleasant. I think the prices have gone up since I use to come here, so I think they’re a little pricy now.

You won’t regret experimenting from this eclectic menu. They care about their food in both quality & taste. Don’t let the beaten down porch with the plastic banner hanging from the railing dissuade you from entering. There is something tasty & yummy for you inside.

Love the spring rolls here! The Korean food, however, comes in small portions and you have to pay for your side dishes.
