The service here is top notch and I have no idea how they move that fast. Why only 2 stars? This is a poorly designed store. If you are not going through the drive thru, DONOTPARKANYWHEREINTHEPARKINGLOT!!! YOUWILLBEBLOCKEDINBYPEOPLEINTHEDRIVETHRU! YOUHAVEBEENWARNED!!! Park on the street. You will see others(who are smart) doing that). This location is busy at all hours and assuming there are more than 5 cars at the the drive thru, you will be blocked it every spot(I’m not kidding…). It’s also not really comfortable seating inside. The outside has a few tables but it’s clear this store wasn’t meant to be the kind of Starbuck’s you go to chit chat with friends at(the one on Baltimore is more like that). I’m not sure who designed the store the way they did when doing construction.

SLOWESTDRIVETHRUEVER! It had been a year since I last patronized this Starbucks but I decided to stop and give it another try. This was at 6 pm on a week night around Dec. 20th. I was in the drive thru line 37MINUTES! Yep, 37MINUTES. I got as close as the second car back from the window and decided to leave. The drive thru is so slow that cars often back down Lake Murray Blvd. The parking lot is a mess since the drive thru is so backed up. It makes it difficult, if not impossible, to get out of your parking spot if you are parked on the east side of the lot. AVOID!

This is my favorite Starbucks in La Mesa. On the from work and on the way home! It gets busy but they try their best and the staff are super nice never had a problem with anyone here. The parking just isn’t my favorite.

My boyfriend and I came here after a small walk around on a trail with our pup and we were just craving some coffee. I will admit that this place is really difficult to maneuver and park, but the employees here are really super sweet. The people are welcoming and are fun to talk with while putting in an order and when you pick up your order. Even though they were busy, they took the time to say good-bye to me as I walking out the door. I usually put in an order for a vente Chai without water and my boyfriend was converted to getting the same thing, but as a frap. We both enjoyed how they were made and it was worth the trip and maneuvering of the tiny parking area.

SOSLOW! They really need to have more staff or expand the drive thru or SOMETHING! Horribly slow but the staff are friendly.

Hands down, the slowest Starbucks drive thru ever. If there is a line, skip this one. And don’t think going inside is going to make it a quicker trip. I don’t know why, but if there are 5 cars in line, or just yours, you will wait.

Screw this place! I got a coffee from there and put in straight into my cup holder. I DIDNOTHINGELSE! Drove up the road and looked to find my cup holders overflowing with coffee! This ruined my phone! Called customer service several times and all the want to do is give me a $ 50 Starbucks card! HELLNO I’M NOTRETURNING! Not even going to help me get a new phone! If it was my fault, I wouldn’t even worry about it, but THEY gave me a busted cup!!! Turds! One of their managers, Kat, was suppose to file an incident report when I went back to complain. Upon returning another later day, I found out she never ever turned it in! Blake, the store manager was the only help I received because he actually filed a report… Gabriel M.

Friendly staff. Place is always busy and they work hard but always seem to be in a good mood. Place is always busy in the morning. Cars in drive thru are always out to the street. They have free wifi. Property is small so parking is really tight. Better to back into a stop. Makes it easier to get out. Plenty of outdoor seating. They have plenty of outlets inside for your electronics. Coffee is standard Starbucks but it is a nice place to chill for couple of minutes. They have several newspapers for sale.

Although this Starbucks is not as big as most locations, our doors have a drive-thru. The staff is always very polite and have a great sense of urgency. They usually have plenty of staff to meet the needs of the busy drive thru crowd and the walk in crowd. There is lots of outdoor seating available and a cute bar against the window. I also love this location particularly for its proximity to Lake Murray :)

While I want to love this starbucks, they’ve just messed up too many times. This review is specifically for the drive-thru. Their drive thru averages about 3 – 4 minutes per car which to me, is very slow, and I will only use the drive thru at this location if I am in no particular rush. I went there today and ordered a caramel macchiato and after I drove away I tasted my drink and there was absolutely NO caramel(or anything resembling it) taste to it. They must’ve forgotten that part. Last week I went here and ordered a caramel macchiato and it indeed was a caramel macchiato, but when I set my drink down in my cupholder, I was left with a sticky mess on my fingers as there was definitely caramel ALL around the brown-paper cup protector. Every time I picked it up on my drive I got more caramel on my hands and so I drove with one hand. Both of these drive-thru experiences were approx 5:30am on a weekday. Other drive thru experiences I’ve had here were alright, my order was fine, just slow. Walk in service here is about the same pace as drive thru – so it’s not worth it getting out of your car,(unless you are looking to sit down and relax) or unless if you’re just getting brewed coffee, then they are quick. The parking lot is a mess at certain times of the day as well. Not really their fault, it’s just the set-up. I was willing to overlook all of this because of the convenient location and friendly staff, but to me, timeliness is just too important.

Today, I came in to order a drink that typically costs $ 0.80 at other Starbucks: a matcha water, which is just matcha powder stirred in water, nothing fancy whatsoever. They charged me $ 4.25 for powder stirred in water and they told me they had to charge my drink for a green tea latte, both completely different drinks. $ 4.25 for some powder stirred in water? I’m good, thanks. I’ll make that at home from now on, or order from one of the other Starbucks that will ring it up correctly. Secondly, as I went through the drive-thru, as I pulled up to the window, the guy at the window starts speaking to me then as I respond he starts speaking to his mouthpiece to the customer at the drive through ordering and abruptly shuts his window on me as I’m speaking. Rude. No ‘excuse me’ or ‘hold on one minute,’ just a shutting of the window on me. I probably won’t be returning here anytime soon since there are so many other locations I haven’t had issues with.

I love the Starbucks location. It’s right next to Lake Murray so after I take my walk I come over and treat myself to an iced mocha. They have a drive through that’s always busy and the services fast. It’s easy in and out. They have a small parking lot also if you want to go inside.

I live around the corner from this location, and they are the best. Their parking is absolutely terrible, and there is always a huge line in the drive thru, but their service is incredible. The people, and their drinks are just… better! I waited in line for a couple minutes and they guy was so animated while taking my order. He was so helpful while I wanted to reload my Starbucks card. He also made great conversation and made me leave feeling extra happy. Its worth the wait at this one. PLUS, this Starbucks makes my drinks exactly how I want them. I’ve been ordering the Chai Tea Frap lately, and they dusted it with cinnamon. So good! This location is doing awesome things. Just wish their parking and physical location was a little bigger :)

Great place right at the entrance to Lake Murray before or after a walk to enjoy an Iced Anericano Coffee. Staff is fast even though they have a drive through which backs up often due to the proximity to the freeway on ramp as well.

Great stop before going on an afternoon run at Lake Murray. This location is small so you are better off sitting out in the patio.
