I’ve had my hair cut by Kimmie twice, once when it was super short and once when it was medium-​long. Both times I brought in a picture of what I wanted and Kimmie did her best to fit my head and hair type to the style. Each time it came out great!
I will definitely be back.

They did a super difficult color process and it turned out great!

I love my hair!!! I usually go to Deanna, and she is amazing, but she wasn’t available this time, so I took a chance on someone new. I usually don’t do this, but I took a chance because Bombaii Cutters is pretty reliable. I saw a woman named Nevis for some highlights and a base color. I look fabulous!!! Thank you Nevis! Thank you Bombaii Cutters! I can always trust you!

I highly and confidently recommend the wonderful Nevis at Bombaii. She is technically incredibly knowledgable and wonderfully creative. She took my dream of «granny hair» — very fashion forward — and made it an amazing look for me. People have been wowed by this change for me — and I was quite nervous because it was pretty radical. Embracing my age in a really strong way was cool and Nevis really understood that I wanted to transform my look boldly.
Nevis is equally talented as a cutter. My color has depth and light and gradiations. It’s seriously amazing. The salon is cozy, welcoming and friendly. The owner has been in the same location for many years and she’s terrific. They have a week guarantee and if there’s anything you don’t like, they fix it. I went back after two weeks because the first time we did my color she warned me it might fade. Even though it was beyond the week guarantee, they insisted on the re-​toning being free. I thought that was unnecessary and FORCED them to take 50%.
Go see Nevis. She is AWESOME.

Fantastic! Daisy May, the dog/​boss, greeted me yesterday as a walk-​in. Walk in salons are the best for those who can’t make a plan and keep it, like myself.
I used a coupon from their website, and it was only $ 35! And it was the best haircut I’ve had. Stephanie was wonderful-​highly recommend!

I am what most people would consider a temperamental and somewhat high-​maintenance hair client. It’s not my fault… after having your hair go wrong here and there over the years, you consider yourself somewhat of an expert. That said, every experience that I’ve ever had at Bombaii Cutters in downtown Kirkland, for me or any member of my family, has always exceeded expectations. They just get it. Deb has a very strong working knowledge of the various stylists and their various expertise and is very attentive to making sure everyone’s experience is more than they were hoping for going in. They will do neon. They will do keratin. They have an open, bright, airy studio. They listen… and they let you come back if you’re unhappy for any reason until you get your desired result. I’d give Deb and everyone at Bombaii Cutters six stars, if possible. I would tell you that the most talented and fabulous colorist/​stylist is Vanessa, but I don’t want anyone else to know! Really… they’re awesome. You will be thrilled with whatever they do.

Overpriced for styling. Don’t expect hospitality from the owner. She rushed the hairdresser to finish with my service to take other customer. My hairdresser was great but I wish she worked somewhere else because she really cares about customer’s satisfaction. I’ll never go back to this place again.

Ana is amazing! She’s been my stylist for the last 8 years.
I’m someone who likes to change my hair color and cut often and Ana always surprises me with how talented she is.
She recently did my hair, where she did an ombré color. She is great with detail. The color turned out amazing!
I definitely recommend Ana for cuts and color!

I was on a work visit to Bellevue, needed a haircut and stumbled upon this awesome salon and had Joel cut my hair. He’s a barber of talent and experience. He took the time to get a feel for my head shape and hair before touching the scissors. I walked out with a great haircut.

This review is for Rosie. I moved here a year ago, tried 3 different hairstylists before her and was unsatisfied. I walked by the salon and entered on a whim because it looked cool. I was shocked to walk out with one of the best haircuts I’ve ever gotten in my life. I have long Irish/​Chinese hair that I am constantly fighting with hairstylists to NOT over-​cut. She did an incredible texturizing job by hand (not with any cheat «texturizing tools») which I always view as a sign of a hairstylist who is willing to take the time to do the job right. She keeps my long hair LONG, does excellent layers with texture, blow dries, and flat irons my hair all for $ 45 bucks. She is intuitive when I want to chat, or leaves me be when I am feeling like just closing my eyes and enjoying the process. BEST haircut for the price. They don’t bring you wine, and they don’t message your head during your wash, which I guess some people might take a star away for, but I am rating this for what they charge. I wanted to do a very difficult color job, and strayed away from her once because I never see any of the girls in there with difficult color jobs, and the guy totally gave me a ridiculous mullet cut. It was so bad I figure it was hopeless, but she fixed it. I shall never stray again.

So unfortunate, because my hairstylist was so fantastic, but the owner doesn’t seem to know what she’s doing. Her dog barks angrily at strangers coming in, she hovers over my hairstylist and interrupts our conversation to ask questions and micromanage, and she rushed my hairstylist because the owner wanted to get more walk in’s in. If you are looking for a quick, low maintenance cut, then this place is probably fine. But if you are looking for good customer service, a welcoming atmosphere, and a quality hairstyle that isn’t rushed, then I do not recommend this place.

This review is for Rosie– I give her five stars. I have been searching (and failing) to find a hair stylist that could achieve the blonde that I want without over processing and damaging more than it already is.
She made it feel healthy again and it’s the perfect shade of blonde I’ve been wanting for years!

I’ve gone to multiple expensive @ss places on the Eastside to get my hair cut only for them to screw it up — EXCEPT Bombaii. This place rocks. I’ve had a few different stylists here and all of them are awesome. Prices are reasonable, stylists are great, wish it wasn’t such a tacky interior, but who cares for great haircuts?!

I love Rosie! She personally deserves 5 stars. Rosie has been doing my hair for years. She listens to what I want, chimes in if she thinks it’s a horrible idea, pays attention to detail, and is an overall great person.
I can be very particular about not running the bleach through my ends, to preserve what tiny bit of health my hair still has — she totally respects that and always achieves a beautiful natural blond color without totally damaging my hair.
I had to give the salon 4 stars overall because parking can be tricky since it’s right downtown Kirkland and secondly because it’s such a small place there have been times we’ve had to wait for an available shampoo bowl or dryer.
If you’re looking for a new stylist, definitely checkout Rosie!
**Side note, I’m moving home to Seattle from Honolulu next month and I can’t wait for her to fix me! It’s been a looong three years without her (except for the yearly trip home to visit, of course).

A Kirkland institution. This place has been around forever and gives great men’s cuts for a reasonable price.
Plus the stylists are hot and it is conveniently located. Love going to Kirkland.

How does a salon hire a stylist who butchers a simple bang trim?
My 17 year daughter paid to get her Zoe Deschanel style bangs trimmed. She came home near tears with a ½ inch wide section of bangs above the middle of her eyebrow that were about ½ shorter than the rest of the bangs… And to top it off, ALL the bangs on that side were shorter than the bangs on the other side. My DD said the stylist hardly trimmed the bangs on the other side at all. And the part that she did trim, she pulled down and tight when cutting them instead of letting them letting them fall more naturally. Now her bangs are above her eyebrows, BUT ONLY ON THE ONE SIDE where the stylist actually trimmed them AND WITH A CHUNK OF THOSE SHORTER THAN THE OTHERS! Tomorrow is her 18^th birthday party – she’ll never forget that awful bang trim now… it will be forever the pictures of her 18^th birthday.

APRIL 16, 2014 Update:
Just got an email from Unilocal that my photo of my DD’s badly botched bang trim was removed. I can only assume that the business complained because it reflects badly on them. The remaining photos on Unilocal appear to have been posted by the business… not good that they deleted all the customer reviewer’s photos. Please know my deleted photo was a real photo of this salon’s work and that if you had gotten that bang trim, you would have cried too!

While I can certainly appreciate their opinions I cannot appreciate them telling me they will not do something because they think it will not look good, even though it is what I want.
The prices seemed reasonable but the girls seemed to me like they thought they were better than me and I wasn’t worth their time. EVEN if they didn’t mean to make it seem so that is how I felt and the reason I never returned after the consultation.

To add yet another review for Alyssa, although half worried that doing so might make it more difficult to book… my high rating for this salon is solely based on Alyssa.
She’s a wonderful stylist and I’ve been going to her for five years. started it off when she was in training school at Aveda and at the time to be honest I was just heading to Aveda since I was looking for an inexpensive haircut at the time. But finally for the first time in life I found someone that knew how exactly how to cut my hair and cut it well. It was also the first time that I had ever received compliments after a haircut… so I’ve patiently followed her after graduation and salon switches to her present day spot in Kirkland.
Besides giving a great haircut she is friendly as the other reviewers note and easy to chat with … Even though I’m leaving the area once again (I was in Boston the last two years and would always hold off my haircuts until I was back in town visiting), I know I’ll be finding an excuse to make trips to this area for my great haircuts with her!
