Fantastic food and service. The peanut sauce is flavorful and the homemade won ton soup is worth having again and again. Great family business.

I can’t stop eating here! If I work from home I take out lunch from Hodgepodge. Holy cow, every single thing I have ever tried has been amazingly delicious. The owner does a great job at pairing favors. The shop is small and new but they are doing a good job at filling it with local artwork. Recommended: Vietnamese breakfast sandwich, Havana or French Dip sandwich — with fries and a side of garlic aioli!

We love coming here!!! Not only is there food amazing but so are they! My hubby always orders the grilled cheese with ham! I can’t wait to try the soups! The only con we have is, that they are to far away from us!!! Now I’m hungry!!!

Only been here once so far to hang some of my art. This place is brand new and still creating the atmosphere, but I really like the staff and owner, they care. They have a nice selection on the menu, and I heard the coffee is awesome from a patron that was gushing praise to the server! In fact every customer in there was very happy and cleaning their plates. I tried the Ho Chi Mihn II, and it was a flavor fest, and just great taste and texture all around. I might do the sauce on the side next time to save them a few napkins. But dammit they marinate the daikon, cuke and carrots right, and don’t skimp on the cilantro, and finally the bread was the RIGHT bread. It’s not a bahn mi, but inspired by that sandwich, which is ok by me. I’m not usually fond of the pâté. Next time up I will definitely try the coffee and I HAVE to try their version of a Cuban, which I’m sure won’t be 100% authentic, but damn sure it will be 100% delicious! Oh and the soups all look great, so might as well try them too. ;)

I had the«French Cow Takes a Dip in Au Jus»(French Dip) and my dad had the cheeseburger. My french dip was delicious! The bread was perfect and crunchy, the meat was cooked well(not over cooked like is common with french dips) and the au jus was delicious. My dad also really, really enjoyed his cheeseburger. It looked amazing and smelled amazing as well. The owners were very kind and attentive and I liked them a lot. They were excited to invite us back again, because they’re still settling on their menu and trying out new things. I will certainly be coming back here!

Not the best bang for your buck. The food is as bland as the interior. I can’t imagine this business staying around for to much longer. I ordered there havana sandwich and it was measly compared to a favorite restaurant i enjoy, the honey holy on capitol hill… dwcide for your self. I wont be returing.

We had Ho Chi Minh II and they were so yummy that we took my Dad when he visited. They have a nice selection for kids too as well as a play table and chalk board.

I’m always glad to see a new business do well. It is a basic eating place with a few twists. I don’t eat pork so my choices were limited. I ordered the Banh mi sandwich to go; it never occurred to me that mayo would be put on it. Not the best combo. I’m willing to try it again. The owner is very sweet and made an effort. Looks like they had a great espresso machine and desserts as well.

Yum! Finally tried this place after hearing so many good things and it definitely exceeded our expectations! We had a couple of sandwiches with soup and salad. All of it was awesome! They have punch cards so your 9th meal is free! What an awesome business with great food and service.

Excellent again today… had the same sandwich but tried the Basil Tomato Soup… super yummy… divine for me today as it «hit the spot». Thanks again for the wonderful, inviting lunch!

I must… this place is quite interesting. The café itself is pretty small and cozy, with a limited menu selection of various breakfast dishes, sandwiches, salads, and the typical coffee drinks. Before you enter this place, look outside the door for any specials for the day. Do note that some of the specials won’t be ready till it’s closer to dinner time(a bit strange). I was crazy hungry and curious to see what the Ho Chi Minh sandwich was like(spin off of the Vietnamese banh mi sandwich) and was quite disappointed in the result. For around $ 8(way above the average price of a typical Viet sandwich), you get the traditional banh mi style bread + option of chicken /tofu + the regular cilantro, radish and carrots. For this sandwich in particular, no pâté like sauce is used but instead, it was a peanut lime based sauce. Overall, the quality was lacking. The tofu itself didn’t have too much flavor and the sandwich was surprisingly smaller than the usual banh mi size, despite its similar look. Furthermore, the sandwich wasn’t as warm or toasted(usually done in typical banh mi style) so it didn’t add too much to the flavoring. Since I tend to roam and frequent a ton of Vietnamese banh mi places in Seattle and outside, this place didn’t quite deliver the yummy results in comparison to other places. Prices are a bit high for café quality food, but it’s a nice stop for food if you’re stuck in traffic or need a quick coffee fix.

Been here once so far and all members of the household liked what they ate. I will go back here again. Look forward to different menu items in the near future.

Loved the Mac and Cheese and Potato Corn Chowder! Owners are very nice and provide great customer service. Great please for lunch and they also have specialty coffees. Had the Ho Chi Minh sandwich with marinated and grilled chicken, cilantro, scallions, pickled daikon and carrots. I had the ADDICTIVE Peanut-Lime-Aioli on the side to add and oh my word! This sandwich had the right French bread, soft in the inside and that absolute crunch on the outside like French Bread is supposed to be. Being from New Orleans, it reminded me of the French bread at home. The chicken was seasoned perfectly, very tender thin sliced goodness. The pickled daikon and carrots added that right vinegar-sweet blend that just fits well with the Peanut lime Aioli. This sandwich is one you want to try. The best sandwich on French bread I’ve had in the NW!

Amazing food and coffee! I had the Havana(their take on a Cuban) sandwich and it was delicious. They also make fantastic espresso drinks! A great, family-owned café!

This is a great family owned café. They’re very kind, and inviting, folks serving up delicious food. The Italy sandwich, is a caprese sandwich serve on lightly buttered ciabatta bread. It was so fresh and had just the right amount of balsamic reduction drizzled on it. They also make sweet cinnamon sugar pastry bites and they serve these with whipped cream and a caramel latte dipping sauce. YUM! Needless to say, I’m suggesting this place and bringing my friends.

Only have been once now, it was nice and cool even though it was 90 °F outside, ick! The owners were talking to me and were really kind. It’s small but bright and open. I got an iced chai which was good, and their version of a Bahn Mi which was seriously so amazing I kept saying so as I ate it. I got to try the bread pudding with caramel espresso sauce and wow, JUSTWOW! The food exceeded my expectations and is high quality. It takes some time but frankly, I’m sure it will get faster as time goes on. My only thing was probably the lack of music as I felt off trying to work on a knitting project in silence, so maybe that’s something that can be/will be added. I’m going back today, I was so impressed!

SERIOUSLYDELICIOUS food, reasonable prices! I seriously cannot believe the quality of food and the way Chef Kris coaxes flavors from every ingredient! I can’t stand raw tomatoes or spicy things and I just HAPPILYATE raw tomatoes on The Italy sandwich and I dipped some crunchy-on-the-outside-buttery-soft-on-the-inside hot French fries in Sriracha sauce! To DIE for! They even make outstanding coffee drinks! Don’t miss this amazing fusion café!

3 stars: Went for lunch around 12:20 on a Thursday, and all 4 tables were full– even one gal sitting by herself for a table of 4– we were hoping for a spot to set baby in car seat down. Note that maximum occupancy is 15 people, so they really only had 15 chairs. I ordered a Havana sandwich and my MIL got For the Love of Bacon sandwich. We got it to-go since there weren’t tables left. Waited 5 mins and a table opened up. We sat down and slowly all 5 people sitting around us got their food. The owner(I’m assuming) came out once the food was served to ask everyone how it was; very nice lady. We finally got our food literally 30 minutes after ordering. It was delicious, but the wait was horribly long. They did thank us for our patience, though. With better arrangement for more tables and chairs with all the extra space, they could easily accommodate more guests. Maybe more guests wouldn’t be helpful though since the wait is so long. Edit to 4 stars: owner messaged me to explain their size capacity and situation with the wait. Very thoughtful and they seem to really care about their customers; thank you!
