JBL, in my book, is the gold standard of backcountry lodges. It was a favorite of my grandfather, my father and now me. Their prices are reasonable if you are looking to stay there and launch your ADK expeditions and there is such a great vibe surrounding the whole place. Plus it run by the top notch ADK Mountain Club and whether its the Loj or JBL it will be a great ADK experience.
