The second beach that I visited on my vacation in Hawaii. I loved it. WAY better than the Bay Area. Much cleaner, warmer, beautiful than Bay Area. Makes you just wanna lay in the sand and roll around. Was fun when the water ran up and pulled you back

I’m not sure if this is the same beach we went to… it’s on the North, slightly west, side of Kauai and the end of the major highway. We loved this beach. The parking was kinda crazy… but fun! The area was gorgeous and required a little walk down the road to get to the beach from where we parked. What gorgeous scenery! The park has a lot of trees and needle droppings from the trees, which was the only thing I didn’t like. It’s a smaller beach park, but very cozy. It’s the beginning of one of Kauai’s best but most difficult hikes. I wish we had something on other then our water shoes as we would have loved to do some of the hike.

The maps associated with this review is incorrect as of this date. The park is on the island of Hawaii south of Hawi. This is really not a swimming beach. It is very rocky. However, I know people who swim here. But it is a great place to sit in the shade and watch the whales. And it appears you can camp here also. I sat, read, and watched whales under the shade of tree here. There is also a covered picnic area you can view whales from. For doing that, I would rate it highly.

Since Kauai has so many beautiful beaches, this one does not look the best. Although, it has some picnic table. Possible good resting area. Still the ocean looks beautiful. This is behind the Old Kapaa town. The parking area is busy and does not feel safe to me. Unilocal365 — 231⁄365

If you make past the smelly bathrooms, you can high five the 5 – 10 drunken bums that make this beach their hang-out! Winning! Oh, and be careful once you get near the water, apparently there are deadly rip tides. Sweet! Sign me up!(btw, I had never seen a bum in Hawaii before I went to this beach)

Small beach area with no good place for kids. Lots of bums and some hippies out front drinking 40s…

This beach is beautiful. Nice sand, blue waters. There is also a bicycle path that stretches miles long for you to cruise on your bicycle rental. I walked around this beach and loved it. Next time, I will try renting a bicycle at the nearby shops and go for a stroll!

This is not a great beach for swimming, but for sitting at a picnic table with a shave ice, it’s perfect. There’s a great view, and it would be a nice place for a picnic, I just wouldn’t stay to lay out, or swim.

To get here take the entry road off Highway 27(traveling north), past 16 mile marker. This is a very small beach, maybe 200 yards across at the most. There are a couple of picnic tables and BBQ pits, along with bathroom facilities. The shoreline is very rocky, and I’m not sure how good the swimming here is. When I was here, there was a group of teenagers smoking pakalolo, which maybe the only thing this small, secluded and seemingly often empty park is good for. (Pics included)
