I’m so sorry to see this place close June 13th, 2014. It will be missed, especially by the neighbors in Columbus Park.

SOGOOD. I love Pandolfi’s sandwiches. The weekend hours are a little wonky and I always forget that and drive down before being greeted by the«closed» sign. The sandwiches are enormous and incredibly filling. I usually only make it through half before wrapping the rest up for later(later meaning in 30 minutes) I’ve had the meatball, turkey, and muffuletta. All make for an amazing lunch break!

This place opened my eyes to what a meatball sub should be. It’s amazing. Plus, they serve it with a side of marinara to dip it in which makes it even better. I’ve also had the Muffuletta which is also very good… Great spot.

Finally! A really fresh italian deli with friendly attentive staff that takes pride in their food. I am not really a fan of some of the other popular places in KC because I feel they are slightly off. You can get a super satisfying lunch for under $ 10 here. My favorite is the classic Italian sub, but the meatball sub is also nice. I do NOT recommend the gluten free mac in cheese unfortunately.(I had to do gluten free when I was pregnant) but everything else has been wonderful including the cannolis. I am also a stickler about atmosphere and while it is nice and clean, I would rather sit outside on a nice day.

Best place to grab a quick lunch in the city. It’s in the perfect part of town for this kind of Italian deli. It is always playing traditional Italian music, feels like I’m in the move«Goodfellas» when I walk in. The food is unmatched by any deli I have had in New York, and the tomato basil soup is world class.

After attending a Secret Supper here, I had to come back and try the sandwiches. The sandwiches are pretty darn good. I have tried the BBQ pork with onion rings on top and the Italian sausage. The pork on the BBQ pork has fantastic flavor. It is well cooked, tender, and juicy. The BBQ sauce is not your typical Kansas City sauce. It has a nice tangy and sweet combination that sets it apart and makes it a favorite for me as I am not a huge fan of the sweeter sauce that KC offers. The Italian sausage is house made and pretty solid. My preference would be for more seasoning, but it is a rare good find in a city that I feel lacks quality Italian sausage. The bread is really good. A solid bread that will hold up to any sandwich(perfect for a French dip, although they don’t serve one here, other restaurants should take note though!) If you are a dessert person, don’t pass up the cannoli’s. Possibly the best I have enjoyed in the metro area. Nice crispy, flaky shells that are not stuffed and left to sit and become soggy. A perfect filling that is neither too sweet nor under sweetened. My only complaint would be I would love to have the pistachios through out instead of just on the end, but that is really just nitpicking. You can get them with pistachios, chocolate shavings, or plain. Prices are a little high, $ 7-$ 8 for just a sandwich, but the quality justifies the cost. All of my experiences have been wins and I would rate them a top contender as a caterer choice, whether you are having a more elegant dinner event or lunch sandwiches. You will not be disappointed.

Sure, you’ve heard Pandolfi’s Deli is good for lunch and, yes, they do make a fantastic meatball sub. But did you know their dinner menu is just as awesome?! On Friday and Saturday evenings, Pandolfi’s Deli switches out their sandwiches with a well thought out dinner menu. My favorites include the braised short rib and mushroom ragu, served over polenta cakes, and the almond and honey glazed salmon with steamed rice and broccoli. The short ribs are rich, hearty and flavorful, while the salmon has a hint of sweetness, making it light and refreshing. Yes, I just used salmon and refreshing in the same sentence. It makes sense. Dessert is usually my most important meal of the day and Pandolfi’s did not disappoint. The Berriez Zabajon knocked my socks off. The dish consists of strawberries, blueberries and blackberries tossed in sugar and wine and then covered in a creamy, rich egg and wine glaze. It’s heaven. Keep Pandolfi’s on your lunch radar but put their dinner on your to-do list!

What a yummy little treasure! Went for lunch on a rainy day with DH. He had the special: pulled pork on delicious bread with onion straws on top. I had the spaghetti and meatballs — the sauce was great, the meatballs were perfect! I like the ambience — very relaxed and casual. There were all walks in there — cops, business people, hipsters. All in all, we’ll be back and look forward to trying something new!

Made it for dinner and all I can suggest is that you make a reservation and get your ass there asap. Every aspect of our experience was fantastic! It’s a completely different experience at night than it is for lunch. You enter a different door, into a sitting parlor that is gorgeous and sexy. You are greeted by the most amazing women, Linda. Linda is an Italian mother and a former drama teacher. Could you ask for more in a hostess? No! She is the mother of the owner and is the sweetest and most personable hostess in the city. She told us how the building was a former funeral parlor and gave us a little history on anything we would ever have a question about in reference to the neighborhood and establishment. The dining room is small and cozy. The menu is small and thoughtful. The staff was small is number, but very skilled and perfect in every way. The customer service here is truly a shining star. The food we had was *lick the plate* fantastic. Since I loved the meatball sub at lunch it was impossible for me not to order the meatballs and spaghetti and I couldn’t have been happier. My partner had the braised short ribs with gnocchi and by the time he was done the plate looked as if food had never sat atop of it. They only do dinner on Friday and Saturday evening, so if you are looking for a special night out or just a great meal surrounded by the warmest of people, I suggest you go check out Pandolfi’s Deli for a great night out.

Nice little place for a luncheon. Gets ya nice and full. The owners pretty cool too. Very chilled. The place itself is small, but nice. Nice little area outside to om nom and watch the world go by =). I like it there. The sandwiches there are good for their price. There pasta salad and potato salad are amazing! Not to heavy, light and it goes well with your sandwich if you get a ½ and ½. Last time I had their soup of the day, I didn’t really like it. It was a seafood chowder. Kind of water for a chowder. Also I tried their cannoli, not so good. Paid almost $ 4 for a small, not so flavorful dessert. In all their sandwiches and salads are great! Also, they are a KC Sporting fan!

It’s completely worth the trip to Columbus Park for this incredible Italian deli! The sandwiches are very fresh and delicious. The team are always very friendly. The owner, Jake, can be spotted making your sandwich personally, or talking with guests. If you get a chance to swing in on a Friday or Saturday evening for dinner service, you will not be disappointed! You might even get a few minutes to chat with their fantastic hostess Linda. Chef Daniel has created some familiar, yet unique Italian cuisine that is absolutely fabulous! Their signature cocktails, developed by award winning mixologist Brandon Cummins, are inspired by classics like the«Manhattan» and the«Bees Knees» but have a fresh, contemporary twist. The newly opened lounge area is cozy and comfortable for enjoying your cocktail while your table is being set. Pandolfi’s also has a nice size private ever space for parties or a rehearsal dinner AND what looks performance space, hopefully for some of KC’s best local musicians to play. You absolutely cannot go wrong making a quick trip to Pandolfi’s!!!

A meatball sub sandwich that kicked my butt so hard I got up and ran around the block. Well… you get the idea. Here we show up at like 1:45 p.m. Lunch should be winding down and you don’t exactly have high expectations. Staff must be tired. Food must be getting a bit past its prime, right? But no, instead I hear, «first time?» Me, «it is.» Then: «welcome to your new favorite deli!» He seemed genuine. Internally my eyes are rolling back. OK, I’ve read the reviews, I know they’re good. I’m thinking, now show me what ya got. I got shown. The sandwich, crunchy, perfectly moist hard roll and one of the finest meatballs or two inside I’ve ever had. Hell, the famed Meatball Shop in NYC, lower East Side doesn’t have anything on this(yes, I’ve been). Terrific sauce, little bit of spicy kick, and then the garlic comes on. Perfectly moist, perfectly tender, melt in your mouth goodness. And a dipping red sauce with it that worked. Paired with a pasta side salad with pesto and mozzarella. Wow, a great deli blast. My gal had the turkey sandwich and the same salad. Equally wonderful. We left happy. Pandolfi’s has great reviews because their food is top notch, and the people are genuinely really nice and show they care. And they mean it. Note to other restaurants: this MATTERS. At first I was taken back, but you know what? That works. They care, they show you, and their pride is reflected in their food. A must return. Note to self: eat here before heading to The Local Pig next time. Never shop on an empty stomach.

Dude, Pandolfi’s deli is pretty dang good. What makes me give it five stars is the friendliness of the staff(and by staff, I mean the girl that was ringing in orders at the counter /bringing food out /refilling drinks /bussing tables). That girl, specifically, is a baller. I went to Pandolfi’s alone after meaning to for at LEAST a year. I walked in around 12:30, and the place was about halfway full. I had no freakin’ idea what I wanted to order, so I let the two ladies behind me go ahead — I’m not here to hold anyone up, yo! The girl at the counter obviously realized my lack of decision-making abilities, so she instantly offered to help me out. She steered me towards a sandwich/soup combo(the soup of the day was potato, I forget the sandwich and I’m sorry), and I fell in love with everything. For under $ 10, I got half of a killer sandwich, a bag of legitimate, hearty chips, a cup of soup and a drink. What a deal! The food was excellent, the service was excellent, and by no means is Pandolfi’s trying to be anything it’s not. The prices are super reasonable, the location is in Columbus Park(east of the River Market), so the restaurant does a great job of reflecting the feel of the neighborhood: quaint, quiet and relaxed. I will definitely be back. Probably solo again, as I like to eat alone … and this restaurant offers such a relaxing environment in which to do so.

For me, the stand out at Pandolfi’s is the staff. As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed and provided with all the information needed to make delicious decisions. We stayed a LONG time for lunch. While other places may get huffy over our long lunch, the Pandolfi staff person checked on us continuously, cleared our plates, refilled our beverages, and charmed us continuously. He was/is a 5 star staff person. Awesome service. The restaurant is clean and simple. They have tables with umbrellas outside which are lovely for a lunch date. Items are made to order, but the food service was fast The food was very good. They pride their selves on making almost everything in house. They have beer, wine, and bar selections, like an espresso martini, which will have you considering going retro with a three-martini lunch. I had the muffaletta, which was very good. It was traditional in the olive salad, meats, and cheese, but it was served on a French baguette instead of the traditional Sicilian sesame round loaf. The meat loadings were not as heavy as I like, but it was plenty of food and plenty of deliciousness. They use Boar’s Head meats, which are a cut above the rest(harhar). Their homemade soups and salads looked amazing, and their Italian dishes will definitely bring me back. In short, it’s a great local lunch spot, with quality products and wonderful service.

This is a cool place. I thought Happy Gillis was the only sandwich mecca in Columbus Park. I was wrong. Customer take-out was almost flawlessly performed. Most items were labelled so it was easy to sort things out back at the business. My choice was the ½ and ½ combo… why decide? lol Muffaletta was the sandwich side of things. Nice meats and delicious tapenade. The other half was potato salad. It was pretty good, with black olives like my mom always makes it. So homey good, in that sense. Three words… I’ll be back!

Heck to the yeah! Pandolfi’s Deli is by far one of my favorite places to grab lunch. The food is ridiculously tasty, the staff is friendly, and the it’s a great old school environment. Highly recommended. For the food, I’ve had a number of the sandwiches, and while all are good, I am partial to the meatball sub. It’s saucy, and hot and messy, exactly as a meatball sub should be. I just wouldn’t suggest eating it on the go, or if you’re having a lunch meeting, or in a white shirt. Both the pasta and the potato salad are incredible. The cheesy mayo that they use in the potato salad makes all the difference. The lemon bars are so sweet and moist they make me want to weep. Beyond the food, there’s a lot to like about Pandolfi’s. The guys behind the counter are incredibly friendly and customer-service oriented. Food comes out quickly, and they are quick to keep the dining area clean. Now, somehow I’ve never eaten dinner here, which I understand is a completely different experience. I mean, it’s supposedly a great one, but I am personally not privy to it. That being said, lunch here is stellar, and I can only imagine that their dedication to quality transfers to the evening meals as well.

It’s almost always good to try new things. I tried this place out with my coworker and it wasn’t that busy around noon; however, there weren’t a lot of tables. Luckily, one table cleared up after we finished ordering. I ordered the Italian Sub and added chips and drink for a total of $ 10.95. My coworker ordered the Smoked Tuna Sub and cup of water. We sat down and within a few minutes, they brought our food to our table. My Italian Sub was delicious and the bread wasn’t hard to break my teeth unlike some other deli places I’ve been to. I was full when I finished but not super full. In my opinion, it was pushing being expensive for the amount you receive but still good.

It’s cute, it’s clean, the food is good, it’s locally owned and it’s in my neighborhood. Sandwiches are made with Boar’s Head meat and they give you a good amount. The white bread is really crusty and good, but you need to know that if you order the wheat, it will be regular sliced bread. I am so glad they have fountain drinks. I hate drinking pop out of bottles and cans. Be sure to get the brownie for dessert… it is really good! What’s not to love? Well, I have been here twice and on both occasions my order was wrong. The first time I blew it off as a new employee, but on the second occasion the owner took my order. The place was not that busy on either visit, so that wasn’t an issue either. The prices on the sandwiches are a little on the higher side, so not getting what you ordered can be especially annoying. Honestly, a good old pencil and paper would really make a difference here. My advice, order in. That way, if you need your sandwich fixed, it can be done.
