I hope this stays around so I can walk here everyday on my lunch break. The spinach and cheese pizza was far out and I only paid 3 dollars for a slice n coke. It’s right in the city center square, so get your boots made for walkin and get on down there. The service was also top rated. Fast and friendly with a lovely smile.

(Note: The reviews dated 3÷21÷2009 and 3÷17÷2010 are misplaced, they are for a completely different restaurant in a different neighborhood that happens to have a similar name. This Antonio’s is not related, it is a food court pizza counter in a downtown office tower.) As a walk-up lunch spot, Antonio’s isn’t great but it’s not bad. There are better options several blocks away, but it does beat two of the closest by-the-slice competitors(Pizza Bar and Primo). Their thin, to me, is definitely better than their thick. So for a quick lunchtime slice of pizza if you want to walk somewhere in the loop, this is probably your best bet. A 3-star slice,. Where Antonio’s comes out ahead and earns that extra star is that they do something no other pizza place in town has the courage to try — they deliver until 3:00am on weekends. You read that right — you can call and order a pizza… or chicken strips or other menu items… hours after every other pizza place in town with delivery has called it a night.(On-site pick-up is also available, you just have to call them when you arrive so they can meet you at the door. Use the NE entrance.) Note: The delivery is done by bike, so the delivery area is limited to downtown.

This is a great little family-owned pizza/sandwich shop in the Rivermarket. I went there on a sunny Saturday afternoon for lunch and had one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. This delight isn’t on the menu, but mention the«Chicago»(baked or fried), and they’ll know what to do. I was in a tossup between this or the«Robert Deniro»(Italian steak), and was told, «Well, both of those are my favorite, but everyone has an Italian steak, but this Chicago is the only sandwich of it’s kind you’re going to find in Kansas City.» I was sold! The Chicago is a sun-dried tomato mayo, Italian jalapenos(forget the name), fried chicken breast, and melted provolone sandwich. It doesn’t look fancy on that long sesame seed bun, but wow, was this great! I will go back, order it again, and tell all that I can to try this sandwich.

This definitely isn’t the best pizza I’ve ever had, but it’s still nice. It is, however, in City Center Square and just one block from my office. I popped by for lunch today and had two slices of Veggie Supreme, consisting of mushrooms, artichokes(which I picked off), onions and black olives, for just $ 3.35. I love cheap lunch!
