I ordered ahi and this is what I got. Ahi is not supposed to look like this, yuck. The ahi looks like a really sickly color in person, fresh ahi should not look like this. The customer service wasn’t that great either. I will not be eating this bc it smells like it’s old and been left out for a while. Very disappointed I wasted 7 bucks on this.

This is your standard Kozo Sushi — it’s no Sasabune but works great for a good, cheap lunch.

I will never return back. It’s definitely cheap sushi, so you get what you pay for. I threw half my dinner box away from the fear of getting sick. The staff was polite but the resteraunt itself needs a health inspection. There was a puddle of water on the floor when I walked in, the floor was a mess and looks as though it never gets swept or mopped. There were little nats flying on the sushi rolls, never once saw the men handling the rolls wash their hands between orders. It’s raw food… You HAVETOBE cautious. The whole place just looks dirty to me, so that’s enough to keep me away. I felt like the quality was similar to picking it up from the gas station.

We’ve been coming here for years to get cheap and good party platters! This is a really tiny place but the staff is nice and the sushi is fair value considering the price. Our last visit yesterday, on Fathers Day, yielded a platter that was a big hit. However the fish was so thinly sliced it was unbelievable. I don’t know how they do it! Trying to cut costs I’m sure. However it is a solid 3 stars and I recommend it for cheap style sushi trays. Just have realistic expectations.

Used to be our favorite sushi place on the windward side of Oahu. Sushi here always was inexpensive yet delicious. Every time we came here to hike we would stop at this place. As far as the décor, there is not much to talk about, but the customer service is great. Unfortunately the quality of the food deteriorated. Our food wasn’t that great today. I am not sure if we’ll be back.

Avoid this place unless you want food poisoning! I ate there two days ago and ended up spending the next 24 hours throwing up. This is the only meal I had so know this place was the source. The sushi actually tasted fine but they must be cutting corners somewhere to be so cheap– you get what you pay for here– a wasted day of your hard earned vacation.

Out of all the Kozo Sushis on this island, this location is by far my favorite. I’ve notice that their spicy ahi bowls are different than other locations(in a good way!). Very convenient(located in windward city shopping center). Quality of fish is 4/5, taste 5/5, costumer service 5⁄5. Four stars because they close a little too early.

Service sucks! I called in my order and they said will be 20 min. I show up and I still had to wait another 20 min. On top of that they didn’t have my entire order correct. I was missing 6 handrolls. They charged me for it and still didn’t give me the refund as they said they would. Can’t believe this bad experience!

Pros: — Cheap — Quick(some are already premade) — Decent taste — Nice workers Cons: — Not fresh — Generic(similar to gas station or 7-eleven sushi) — Some of the hand rolls were just left out on the counter… Well, I haven’t gotten sick yet.

Good spicy ahi bowls! I usually sub the ginger for daikon(shinko). Goes GREAT with the spicy ahi!

I love this place! Staff is always nice and sushi is great. My faves are Tuna Tamago and Spicy Ahi Temaki. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because the parking in the shopping center sucks.

Gosh, this is a difficult one. Their spicy ahi bowl is my FAVORITE. It’s the texture I like. The sauce is everywhere. The rice isn’t too soft or too hard, but it has the sushi-rice taste. The bowl is big enough to leave me satisfied, but I don’t get overly stuffed(unless I’ve eaten it too fast. which. has happened). It isn’t alllll that spicy, but I really do enjoy it. It’s tasty. Everything about it is great. This is my go-to. This is one thing I will miss most when I leave. Without a single doubt. Being that the spicy ahi bowl is basically the only thing I’ve had. I can’t say much about their other items. They don’t have an interesting selection, as you would say, a place like Ninja Sushi has. They have the regular stuff. Rolls, and all that. The bowl is their. Highlight, as I would like to say. I have no problem with that. I’ve just never been interested in anything besides the bowl. But I guess, that could be good and bad. The downside to this place is its location. Windward City Shopping Center? Why? I mean. Really. WHY? Also. No seating? Yeah, okay, that one bench in the store. But besides that, the best luck you have with finding a place to sit is on the curb or bench outside. Who wants to eat their delicious spicy ahi bowl outside? No one. That’s not cute. It’s hot. People need tables. However, the workers here are all very friendly. Just doing their job. I’ve never had a bad experience, in person or over the phone. Oh, also a plus. If you’re coming home from work and want to order and pick up, you can call in. It should be ready when you get there. I used to do this a lot with my friend, because we were very hungry after summer school! All in all, I love Kozo Sushi’s Spicy Ahi Bowl. If you’re around, I definitely suggest trying it out!

Kozos!!! Fast. Delicious. Friendly. I love to stop by here when I’m craving for a spicy ahi bowl(with avocado and cucumbers). I’ve been to many different kozos around the island but none of them make it the same as the one located in Kaneohe. They put a very generous amount of this special mayo based sauce on top and it’s amazing/addicting! Their spicy ahi bowl isn’t very… spicy. So if you’re looking for something with a little more heat, I would suggest going elsewhere.

I love this sushi spot for on the go sushi. We’ve been ordering from here a lot recently. Since I finish Zumba nearby at 6:30 we have been ordering take out right when it’s done and walk over to pick it up… I suggest though to work on phone etiquette/customer service… Last week when I ordered the woman on the phone said 20 minutes. But this week I called a little late around 6:35/6:40 and the girl asked when I was going to pick it up. I said well, 20 minutes. She said«Well we close at 7» I said«OK, I’ll for sure be there before 7»(I’m literally across the street from the shopping center) She then replies«Sooo. you’ll be here by 6:50?» I“m like«OK I guess we can be there by 6:50» I still had to pack up my son and get us out of the parking lot so I just sent my 13 year old daughter to walk over to pick it up… by 7:10 she still wasn’t back so I got worried… She returned about 7:15 and said she had to sit and wait for awhile before they finished our order. Even people who came in while she waited ordered and was out of there before her. The food was good don’t get me wrong LOVEDIT… but if I didn’t feel like I had to be there by 6:50 I could have packed my kids up and went all together.

Small shop located in windward city shopping center. I love their spicy ahi bowls. Filling lunch. I also include cucumbers and avocado for a $ 1 more. Cant say much about the sushi rolls since i only get the spicy bowls. No place to sit in the restaurant, its just a grab and go!

Worst spicy ahi ever, it seriously just taste like straight up mayo. Their handrolls… its soo skinny I cant help to feel ripped off everytime. If it wasnt for my fiancé always grabbing sushi here for himself and our son. I wouldnt even think of eating here.

This is how I get my kids to go to Ross. :) Seriously, it’s a great, healthy-ish lunch or snack for cheap, and we stop by often. The handrolls are fresh and my kids will eat them. Sold.

So I’ve recently learned that there are 2 owners of Kozo Sushi, and that the Kaneohe location is definitely worth the drive ! Came here with some friends a few days ago… I was wondering why we were driving so far out of town to grab some sushi, but as it turns out I’ve found the location for the most delicious spicy ahi bowls !! Parking was not a problem since Kozo Sushi shares a huge lot with neighboring stores. The nice lady working the cashier was informative and funny. I always appreciate smiling workers. :) Now on to the spicy ahi bowl… Mmmmmm! The ahi was finely grounded negitoro style, and they added the perfect amount of tobiko to balance the ahi. What amazed me was their spicy sauce that they used; it was simply delicious ! It wasn’t extremely spicy, but it still had enough kick for my taste buds. Only downfall for Kozo Sushi to me was that they didn’t give us any napkins for our takeout sushi… :(But other than that, everything was great !!
