This place has some really good Poke, Hand Rolls, Inari and Musubis. They close early. 2pm I think. Nothing glamorous about this place but they do have some good food, service and prices. My kind of place.

Food was great with flavor. Nice a/c inside to enjoy ur lunch. Staff all friendly. Okinawa donuts were delis! Also dried aku was super ono asked for soft kine. Poi thick so you can add your own water if you like. Great to have a other Hawaiian plate spot in Kaneohe because there aren’t too many options in windward side.

One of the best Okazuya in Hawaii! Japanese, Hawaiian and Local Favorites. The food is delicious. Poke and Sushi makes it even better! Fast and friendly staff.

Definitely a mom and pop place! Ono grinds and great service. They are not open every day or all day, so check their hours beforehand! The Teri chicken is delicious! I also recommend the California rolls! It’s quick, you can grab and go, or the have a few tables to sit and eat. The Hawaiian plate is Ono too!

What’s going on? Been going to M&J’s for 10 years. The last couple of months’ some of the food has some issues. Someone needs to check the Haupia as it is watery n tastes weird. Today’s special was Hamburger Curry. Please people, have someone taste the special before you sell it. Hawaiian Plate was good, n sashimi fresh, but a little stringy. All in all, quality going down a bit. Will continue to patronize and see if things improve.

Masa & Joyce is the ultimate Mom & Pop okazuya! Although I am not from the windward side, anytime I venture over the Pali or the H3, I try to make it a point to stop here to get my local food fix. When my car was being serviced at King Windward Nissan, I decided to walk over to Masa & Joyce for breakfast. Masa & Joyce offers a morning Okazuya(or Japanese ala carte) selection, as well as Hawaiian food, poke, and plate lunches. I even noticed that they have hand rolled sushi! If you’re looking to try their Okazuya, I would recommend going early. A lot of the food items are limited supply, and once they run out they are gone for the day. I tried the fried rice musubi and the vegetable tempura. The musubi was delicious, and so LARGE!(Insert«TWSS» joke here) The vegetable tempura was nice and crispy and not too greasy as tempura that sits out can sometimes be. It was comprised of green beans, onion, and carrots. I wish I had more of an appetite or I would have eaten more! The Teri Meatballs, Mochiko chicken, and Shrimp Tempura all looked SOGOOD! I will return to try some of these other items, not to mention their fabulous poke! Happy and FULL — Fatty OUT!

We saw the awesome reviews on Unilocal and came over the hill to check it out. Was craving Hawaiian food so ordered the following: squid luau plate(with rice, chicken long rice, Kalua pig, haupia and lomi salmon) and a lau lau plate(rice, long rice, and lomi salmon). Also craved some Mac salad, shrimp tempura, and cone sushi. The service was laid back. Kind of reminded me of Kauai– country speed because everyone has time. I didn’t have anywhere to go so it was ok, but wouldn’t come if I needed my food quickly. Another woman called her order in which seemed like the thing to do. Overall the food was ok. I want to high light the Chicken Long Rice and Lomi Salmon. The chicken long rice has fatter noodles that seemed to soak up the great broth. The lomi salmon was perfectly salted with large chunks of salmon. The only dish I couldn’t deal with and wouldn’t recommend is the squid luau– it was a bit bland and think like moss. I couldn’t eat it because the texture reminded me of moss. All in all I would definitely come back for the chicken long rice and their fish.

I come here a lot since my mom’s workplace is right up the street. I’m a big fan of their poke bowls. Very fresh, and lots of choices for the poke. The other food is okay-ish. Wouldn’t recommend the Hawaiian food served there.

The food is not good at all Kailua pig is dry and bland Lau lau is dry adobo was so salty. I eat here cause I only live down the road I think most other Hawaiian local food places are much better .I can cook better than this place. Also lomilomi salmon is not fresh salmon from package.

My mom had them cater my grandma’s funeral service and all of our guests commented about how good the food was. We ordered maki sushi, inari sushi, chicken long rice, chicken katsu, and sweet potato tempura. Everything was excellent. They accommodated a short turn around request(2 days). We highly recommend Masa & Joyce!

They have too many to choose from! So I got a bunch of small items. Got tako, dried ebi, kobu maki, satsuma age, okinawa rice soup(small size was biiiiig!), and seaweed in vinegar. Everything was very good. It is such a nice place. People who work here are very kind.

No place really defines«Aloha» to me as well as Masa & Joyce does. I am a lover of great customer service and M&J employees are bursting with the a-l-o-h-a. Maybe it’s because they eat well(um yeah, the food is that good — I’ll get to that soon enough), but every time we pay a visit, they are patient with indecisive me and super friendly(no, not the fake friendly with the fake smile — like seriously, family friendly: aunteh, unko, sistah, bruddah). Now, about that food. They have okazuya style — pick dishes ala carte — or plates you can order. I’ve tried both. Okazuya style, for me, works when we are headed to the airport, the beach, or to a sporting event. I could, literally, order everything(#eyesbiggerthantummy), but, most of the time, I go with my faves: hand rolls + fried chicken. To me, that is just heaven. On days when I’m feeling like a piggy, I would def go with their Hawaiian plates. The last time I was there I ordered the Squid Luau Plate which came with squid luau(duh!), kalua pig, lomi salmon, chicken long rice, haupia, & a choice of rice or poi. It was a two meal attack for me because if I eaten that plate in one sitting, I would still be sleeping right now. #kanakattack All in all, you cannot go wrong with M&J. Super friendly workers, delish food, parking right in front, they take credit cards, they’re patient with indecisive eaters like me, they’ll cut your fried chicken into pieces you can eat without utensils, AND they offer you a choice of shoyu(Aloha is my fave!). What’s not to love?

Good Hawaiian food and okazuya restaurant. There is in-room dining(nothing fancy) but I saw most people ordering take out for weekend brunch. I ordered a smattering of okazuya food — hot dog musubi, garlic chicken musubi, chicken meatballs, pork hash croquette. My husband had their chicken katsu donburi. Everything was tasty and the prices were reasonable.

Masa & Joyce will make a morning sickness ridden pregnant woman drive to Kaneohe just for their food. Or at least, that’s what it did for me, anyway. When I go to Masa&Joyce and am done ordering, the person ringing me up asks me how many chopsticks I want. I usually say 2 or 3 because I’m too embarrassed to admit that ALLOFTHEFOOD I JUSTBOUGHTISJUSTFORME. Granted, I always have leftovers, but there are so many things I love, I can’t help but order all of my favorite things(and trust me — there are plenty). I grew up in Kaneohe back when there was a Masa & Joyce both in Kaneohe town and Kahaluu. Since they closed the Kahaluu location, me and my family have been going to the kaneohe town one. If you are into super yummy japanese okazu options, to include ume rice ball, spam, hot dog or garlic musubis, fish or hamburger patty, noodles, tempura… AHHHHHHH. My absolute favorite thing to get here is their eggplant. i have no idea what’s in it and i’ve been trying to figure it out for years, but whatever is in there is AMAZING! They also have my favorite poke hands down, whether it be their tako poke or their hot sweet onion shoyu poke. I also LOVE their tofu salad and california rolls(though they have gotten a little skimpier in the recent few years). For those who are looking for Hawaiian food or plate lunch options, they have that as well. they have ono squid luau, which is hit or miss at lots of places. They also have yummy bentos. You can order a bunch for your kids sporting events as refreshments, or a bunch for yourself if you’re feeling particularly piggish! One thing to keep in mind is that they have particular hours so best to check when they open and close. they also have run out of some of their dishes, so you’ll want to make sure you go sooner than later. All in All, CANNOTGOWRONGWITHMASAS! cheeeeeeeee pono!

Found this place on accident. My bf and I were trying to find some place that had acai bowls, and we failed. But hey we saw that Masa & Joyce had poke so we gave up our hunt for acai. Masa & Joyce has a wide variety of foods to choose from: some poke, katsu, chicken long rice, musubis and many more. I saw they had pasteles, which happens to be one of my favorite things to eat while visiting HI. I ordered that with a side of mac salad. My bf had the poke and something else I can’t remember. I wasn’t too impressed of their pasteles, which was in a stew form. I thought it was not thick enough and the plantains were in chunks, not mashed. It was edible but certainly not the best I have tasted on the island. I do like their mac salad, which had tuna mixed in. The poke was really good though: gelatinous chunks of ahi perfectly seasoned. I wouldn’t mind coming back here but I don’t recommend ordering the pasteles. The chicken long rice looks good here so I will have to try that the next time I visit.

I can’t remember the last time I’ve been here. but it’s been way too long! My family and I stopped in for a quick lunch before heading over to visit loved ones on the windward side. Mini kalua pork plate lunch with side spam musubi hit the spot! So ‘ono and always great service. I tried the fried noodles that my nephews were having and that was pretty good too. Other things we had were pastele stew, squid luau & chicken katsu. I’ll have to try the garlic chicken katsu next time.

Perfect spot for the grinds before heading to the beach! They have Hawaiian plates as well as Okazuya til a certain time. I ordered some Okazuya items for lunch today in which everything comes aka carte for a set price. I had the Andagi and fried noodles along with some oden and tofu. It kinda reminds me of Manapua truck in a way but of course way better! It’s fun when you can choose exactly what you want to order.

If you live in Kaneohe, you know this is the go-to-place before you head to the beach or basically any outdoor activity. Easy to grab spam musabi or hot dog musabi, andagi, and my favorite, the sweet potato. Also a great place to pick up Hawaiian plate lunch. They always seem to have a lot of staff especially on the weekends so never have to wait long. Service is quick and friendly.

I am in love! How have I been to this place a hundred times and not written a review? This is my son and my favorite place to grab food on the windward side and my favorite okazuya place, ever! And they have a large fresh poke selection too! Who does that? You can’t beat all the options you have. Every time I enter here I just stare for a couple minutes and try to think if I should get one of everything… I end up only getting one plate but that is enough for two meals for me. Everything is so cheap and delicious! If you don’t know what to get, just ask the staff. All of the staff are so friendly and helpful! My favorites: Fish balls or fish patty Spam musubi(They actually cook the spam! I hate it when the spam isn’t cooked.) Hot dog musubi Fried rice musubi Shrimp tempura Long rice Andagi(They have regular or sugar.) Chicken(Katsu and teri.) Eggplant Actually, who am I kidding? All of it is my favorite! I could just list everything they sell here. They have so many different musubi and poke to pick from. This place really has something for everyone. It never disappoints! TIP: Masa & Joyce is now open 7 days a week! Hip hip hooray!
