We actually found this place through Unilocal. We normally rely on word of mouth but this time Unilocal totally steered us to exactly what we wanted. If you like the Japanese, hot pot themed dining, then this is a good option. The place is in a shopping center so the dining ambiance could be a little more inspiring. But you go to a place like this to eat food. If only this dining concept would work on a food truck. You need the restaurant for this. Our host did a good job explaining the best ways to order. I drank a couple really big beers. It’s fun adding the ingredients to the dish and sliding the meat out of the bamboo shoot. If I lived in this area I would probably plan on having lunch at this place every week.

I really enjoyed myself here. For 18 bucks u get a good hearty meal. The experience is a must. U are transcended to Japan eating on the floor the traditional Japanese style. The pork balls and the pork friend kimchee and mushroom melody and the inoki N kombocha my fav. Great family place and great for vacationers. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed myself and the price is right. And don’t worry if u can’t sit on the ground there are tables with chairs available. I typically preferred the food better at the Kaneohe location. Although smaller it was fresher.

The Kaneohe location of Ichiriki is tucked away in a corner between Safeway and Longs Drugs. Because they are in the shopping center, there is always ample parking. I was there for lunch and ordered the huge chanko nabe special. I like it because it is like the meat lovers special, beef, chicken, pork with a whole bunch of the usual vegetables in my favorite pirikara soup. This location seems to be much larger than the Piikoi location with possibly 50% more tatami seating. I always request the tatami seating because it seems so much more relaxed. When I got the bill. I was pleasantly surprised to find out in this location is the only location that has a Nabi lunch special punch card. If you do 10 lunches you get one free! That makes it a fantastic lunch value! I can’t wait to return again soon.

Love this place! Great food, great atmosphere, and great staff. Love the late night happy hour options, perfect for a late dinner. They are never too overcrowded to accommodate and the food almost always comes out in a timely manner! If you love hot pot you must try Ichiriki!

Sushi, Tepanyaki, and Yakatori are my favorite types of Japanese food and now I have to add Nabe to that list. Thank you Japan for inventing such awesome food! My first«hot pot» experience was at Ichiriki after viewing the«Christmas Lane» of houses with Christmas light and what a great dinner it was. I don’t want to spoil how nice hot pot cooking is so if you’re reading this and feel like eating something different and delicious get yourself to Ichiriki!

I’m a hot pot lover. This is something I’ve been introduced to since living on island. It’s not very expensive for the amount of food that you get. I usually over order because I do share with friends. I ordered poke on the side and the calamari. We ended up not getting served calamari. The waiter forgot. He ended up going back to order them and came out with shrimp? I don’t know he told them he wouldn’t charge us and then still did for the calamari we never got. I’ve never had issues with this chain, however this one has some shaping up to do.

I have been to this restaurant before and loved the place. So last week the wife and I decided to go again. Got there at 8:15PM and they were not that busy. So I thought that we would get a table in no time. I looked and saw that the table in front, next to the window was open and ask for it specifically. I was told that they were trying to clean up for closing and they asked us to set in the back of the restaurant. When we insisted that we want the table in the front, the hostess’s attitude changed to very negative. My problem here is, I arrived at 8:15PM, they close at 10:30PM and they were cleaning up for closing? They still had over 2 hours before closing. I would have thought that they would accommodate a returning customer. Guess not. The negativity and attitude was enough to let me draw the conclusion that they did not want my business or money. So be it. We just turned and walked out. As it turned out, I found a better place in Honolulu and got not only a great meal but some excellent customer service. I will not be returning to this Ichiriki at Kaneohe.

We came across this place for dinner. We didn’t realize the experience it was going to be! I didn’t know what«Nabe» style was. Our waiter explained it well to us that they bring out the cooking pot, you choose a broth, then choose what your main«entrée» will be, then you pick the kind of noodles you want. It’s all single serving. So my husband and I got to share one big mixing pot at our table even though we chose different ingredients. All I can say was not only was the food amazing, but it was so fun mixing and cooking our own food together! We really enjoyed this place, and I wish they would open one up on the mainland where we live on the central coast!

I came here late at night with co-workers, and their late night happy hour specials are great! Portions are great for what you pay, and the large beers are LARGE. Id be back, but probably only for the late night specials as the regular menu is much pricier.

Been here once with my boyfriend and i didnt understand the hype. He loves going here and too me its ehhhh. Just tastes like normal ramen with a lot of extras in it. Its pretty pricey too so its not a weekly type of place to eat. Food: The soup was good i liked all the mushrooms and vegetables they offered. Didnt really like the meatball/meat stick thing. I liked their ahi poke and cucumbers appetizers. The cucumbers were salty but good. I think the sitting on the floor/carpet Japanese style is pretty cool on some of the booths. And their shave ice looks good but i never got to try it since the soup is very filling. It was a good experience but nothing for me to crave.

There seems to be much more room at this location than the town one, I love being able to stop in for dinner without a long wait! Their happy hour specials are the best, appetizers at about $ 5 a pop can’t be beat: spicy ahi rolls, chicken karaage, spicy pork and french fries(of course) are amongst our favorites. The HH drinks are very generous as well, a large order of warm sake at about $ 5 can’t be beat! The servers here are awesome, fun and very prompt. I love this location and very glad it’s open late and close to home!

Haven’t been here in months BUTICHIRIKINEVERFAILSTOSATISFYMYHUNGER! Top of the list of my favorite restaurants. Used to come here twice a week. From previous visits service was usually slow but oh how they are on it now! A lot of new employees since we last came. Checked up on us regularly and fills our water fast. If you’re into hot pot, this is one of the places that should be on your list. A little pricey especially for dinner, but if you go during lunch or happy hour, prices usually range about $ 35 for two people which is not bad to me.

On the way back to Kailua from North Shore, I discovered Ichiriki on Unilocal and decided that I was craving Japanese Hot Pot. Famished from a day of climbing and beaching, my friend and I wanted something warm to eat for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised when we were greeted and seated because it was late night Happy Hour! This is between 9pm to closing time, which is AWESOME because that’s usually when we eat dinner anyways. We started with their small cucumber dish as an appetizer, and these were very refreshing. We also ordered Kirin Beer. Regular size is $ 2 and the menu lists the large size as $ 5 even though it’s exactly twice as much as regular. The server said it was a typo, but I think they were just trying to rip off their customers. At any rate, the best deal for Happy Hour hot pot was $ 16.95 for the 6oz USDA Choice Ribeye, which comes with with rice and choice of ramen or udon. For some reason this price does not include the soup base. Same price as the regular menu which is awesome. This was very filling but I was a little disappointed that the spicy shoyu base was not actually spicy. Oh well. Service was excellent, though. I believe our server’s name was Gavin… very enthusiastic! This was overall not the best shabu shabu I’ve ever had but was certainly worth spending one meal here during our week trip to Oahu.

yummy nabe! good food, friendly service, lots of parking and reasonable prices. make reservations as it gets busy and crowded! not really noisy, so you can have a decent conversation.(we had a group of women for book club meet up for dinner). a big pot of broth with a nice serving of meat & vegetables, with a bowl of rice and a plate of noodles, for about $ 20. it’s a lot of food and I always leave stuffed! you cook your own meal in the broth, so no complaining that the meat is not cooked to your liking. we even got the mochi dessert this time. it’s few pieces of mochi with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. the serving was enough for two of us to share. the mochi was soft and delicious! we’ll definitely be back again when we’re in the mood to have soup!

Love the food and happy hour pricing but making us wait 30 minutes when the restaurant is empty was totally uncool.

Cool hot pot joint(Shabu shabu, etc.) — there were three of us, we ordered two orders and had enough for lunch the next day. It’s fun. It’s tasty. It’s healthy, if you order right(even a vegetarian offering). Cool place!

This place is fantastic! Service was great. Our server was Gavin. There are a lot of options on the menu, but he made it easy to understand and had some recommendations for us. I had the ribeye chanko with ichiriki and ramen and my husband had the short rib chanko with goma and udon. My daughter had the kids meal, and they made it look so cute. That was a great touch. We also had a couple desserts to try them out, since this was our first time dining at Ichiriki. We had strawberry shaved ice with vanilla ice cream, a brownie with Reese’s ice cream(the flavor of the month for April), and green tea ice cream with mochi. They were all yummy but the brownie was the best. I would have given this place 5 stars easily but the AC was on so cold that we shivered through the whole meal, and I left with goosebumps and chattering teeth. If they set it to a more comfortable temperature, I will gladly update my review to 5 stars. Update: Here for dinner and the temperature is just right! They have my 5 star rating! Very comfortable. Also, I should have said before, the music they play here is great. Love this place!

Favorite hot pot destination! We usually get the Ribeye chanko, order an extra tsukune and another side order of meat. We usually also order the ahi katsu as appetizer. We also get the tomato broth. The spicy Goma is good too. It’s also a lot of fun to cook your own food over the fire, so it’s a good place to come with friends. They don’t give much for one order, so if you’re going to share, I recommend you get side orders too. Happy hour is a good time to go too… they have appetizers for as low as 5 bucks, and you also can get a nice cold beer for a good price. The beer also goes great with the hot pot! This review is for the Kaneohe location, but the Ala Moana location is great too! That location gets crowded, so I recommend placing reservations for there.

I hate to do this but facts are facts. I called today to make reservations since both me & my wife used to really like the food and service here. I asked if they still served the Kalua Pig Nabe(which was only offered at this location during happy hour) and was told yes that it was still available. I asked what time was happy hour and made reservations. We drove from town to Kaneohe but was disappointed to find when we started to place our order that they had discontinued it. I expressed my frustration to our waitress about being told they still had it on the menu when making our reservation and that was the main reason we were there. The waitress asked us to wait while she spoke to her manager. I guess her manager couldn’t be bothered to come talk to us. At that point we decided to go somewhere else.
