Decent typical North Indian cuisine… Could have more veg options!

This place is good and getting better. If asked, they will ACTUALLY make it spicy for you, and unless you are ordering on a busy night, everything is still hot when it gets to the door. –As one might expect, their Tikka Masala chicken is very good. –The prawn dishes are a delicious surprise, but there aren’t very many prawns in an order:( –Their pappadum is not good, so skip that one. –the cauliflower dish was an unexpected hit at our table

We love this restaurant! The food is always excellent, and the staff couldn’t be nicer. It’s our go-to Indian place in the area.

I only got take at this place, but the biryani was not bad at all. I only wish it had more raisins to balance out the different flavors!

Only have done take out a couple of times, but love the food. The food is consistent and reasonably priced. My favorite vegetable dish is palak paneer. The person taking our order on the phone is very nice and even joked with us. Will definitely go back.

Early Saturday night and only a couple of the tables were occupied when we walked in. The service was fast but not pushy. Plenty of vegetarian options clearly lutes in the menu. We were asked how spicy we wanted the food. Medium was just right. Food was tasty. Restaurant was clean and décor average. There was side entertainment with the TV showing some Bollywood music scenes. We would return. Not sure about parking options. We were lucky to find a spot on the road.

It was ok. Unfortunately does not hold true to menu description. Expectations were set with chicken breast but met with thigh. Not my preference. Stick with Bukhara on Centre st

I think this is really affordable, really great Indian food, with speedy delivery and friendly service, and I think the weekend lunch buffet is pretty much the best thing ever at $ 10/per person. Here are my caveats: 1) I live really close by, which might account for the speedy delivery 2) I order or eat here often enough that they recognize me, which might account for some of the friendliness in service 3) I’m vegetarian, so I don’t know if the meat dishes are any good(but my family eats meat and they love this place too) 4) I tend to take my food mild, so I don’t know how they do with spiciness(but my husband orders painfully hot dishes and the sweat pours from his face when he eats them so they must do pretty well actually). I’m really quite pleased that this place exists.

Service is s-l-o-w, but worth the wait. «Dinner for two» options are quite reasonably priced. Our favorite entrée was malai kofta, served in a rich tomato sauce that is ridiculously delicious, but mutter paneer & aloo gobi were also excellent.

We gave this place a chance after our last two times at Bukhara, we had to send dishes back. We started out with the best samosas ever. We sounded like a weird commercial proclaiming how light and flaky the crust was. My husband got the Tofu Saag, the flavor was excellent, but he didn’t like how the tofu was in very large chunks. He’d get it again and ask them to cut it smaller. I got Aloo Gobi. The plus was that it was mostly cauliflower; I hate how it’s half potato($.40 a lb!) at other places. The flavor was good, but really a bit tomato-y to me. I thought it needed more seasoning. The portions were generous, prices reasonable. This was take-out on the way home from the T. Looking forward to eating in there.

I was very hungry, and I was on Forest Hills I gave this restaurant a chance. It’s located in an area with some restaurants next to each other, but today was the day to have some Indian food. When I first entered in, a waiter attended me and took me to my table. I sat down and he took me a glass of water, no more words, so I realised that there was a buffet lunch. He didn’t ask me for it this was my option or not, nor showing me the beers or wines menu. I asked for the beverages menu and he gave it to me fast, they had some Indian and local beers, so I asked for a pint of Indian beer. The buffet menu looked pretty good, with a lot of different dishes to try: Chicken Vindaloo, Mixed vegetables curry, Tandoori chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Palak Paneer, Banggan Bharttha, Naan, Basmati Rice and Badami Kheer for dessert. For the price it was a very good deal, everything was good but not top-notch. I really missed spice on the food, it was pretty mild in my opinion, I think the mildest Indian restaurant I’ve ever been too. Everything was tasty, tender and yummy, but I missed hot Indian-like food. Nevertheless to say, the dessert was average and the service was average, I’d give 4 stars, but I expected a better service and more spicy food.

A review of Tikki Masala, helpfully presented in question-and-answer format for the discerning reader. Q. I hear Ghazal is closing sometime soon. Where can the enterprising JP yuppie get Indian food that is of similar quality? A. Tikki Masala has you covered! You need no longer subject yourself to the tyranny of Ghazal’s horrible delivery, or Bukhara’s on-again-off-again relationship with flavor in its curries. Q. Delivery, you say? Is delivery from here as much of an adventure as from every other place in JP, which will either dispatch your food via cage-free grassfed bicycle courier, or in a ’89 Civic that makes twelve stops before getting to your house? A. First of all, I will not hear a word spoken against bike delivery of food in our fair town, even if it takes an obscene amount of time, because the dude who bikes up my giant hill is always a good sport about it, and has a glorious mustache. But no, this is not your typical delivery schedule. Last time we ordered, I timed it. Total time elapsed from ordering on the internet to the doorbell ringing: 28 minutes. I’ve waited that long for food INTHEDININGROOMOFGHAZAL. Q. What’s good here? A. I have yet to be disappointed, and that is after I recently ordered the weirdest-looking things on the menu to see if they were as good at preparing low-throughput dishes. Result: yes they are. The chicken is moist, the goat is flavorful, and the shrimp… well, I’m still trying to figure out how they got a shrimp dish to my front door that was too hot(temperature) to eat immediately, without overcooking the shrimp. My shrimp overcook if I crank the thermostat up past 72. Q. I ordered $ 35 worth of food, and I get either a free dessert thingy or a free appetizer. Which should I get? A. The badami kheer has been the only negative part of our orders here. Get the tikki. Q. On a scale of one to ten, how obsessed is your household with Tikki Masala? A. My wife ordered from them three times between last Monday and Thursday. Today, I found myself scouring the internet for proof that the one-star reviews are hired goons working for Big Curry.(I’m looking at you, VivekSagar K from Miami Beach) My two-year-old daughter can’t pronounce«tomato», but can clearly articulate«chicken tikka masala.» Q. Are you a paid shill for Tikki Masala? A. No, but if they’re reading this, my rates are very reasonable and you can pay me in vindaloo.

I thought this restaurant was excellent! The soup was so perfect for me, I couldn’t put it down. Then we got the chicken and as always, it just melted in my mouth! Service was excellent & a very friendly bunch over there but not overbearing at all. I can’t wait to go back here!

It’s your typical, completely standard Indian buffet. Has all of your favorites — the chicken tikka, the tandoori chicken, the lamb curry. Each of the dishes was fine — good, even — but nothing really stood out as great or different. It’s like getting fast food at your favorite chain; you know exactly what you’re getting when you order that Big Mac, because it’s the same everywhere. That’s how I felt about Tikki Masala — it’s the same Indian buffet that’s been done dozens of times before. It’s a fine place to eat, just don’t expect much more. Also felt like the service could have been slightly better. We were waiting for naan, water, and the check for quite a while even though the place wasn’t that full.

Love this place. It makes me sad that people haven’t been utilizing the way it should be. It’s hands down the best Indian restaurant in jp. Fresh ingredients wonderful service. Also by far the best buffet.

good indian, not my favorite. the samosas are the best thing there, but you have to order them separate from the buffet. Perk to the buffet, they make the naan fresh as you sit down so its nice crispy and fluffy, not the limp warm buffet naan. Good service, clean restaurant. Dear owner of Tikki Masala, if you read this I need to know where you purchased the buffet servers you have. Those things are great and I need 1 or 2 for my house. Thanks!

We are die-hard loyals to another indian place in JP, but thought we’d give Tikki Masala a chance in case they were even better. Sadly, the food was disappointing. The vegetarian app platter was weird — we got two of two things, and then one each of two other things. One? That’s weird. Obviously people share things like that. The things that came in it were mostly fine, although the cheese pakora was kind of gross. The garlic & onion naans were fine — didn’t seem super fresh, not a ton of garlic flavor like I’m used to. The chicken tikka masala and the chicken korma were both incredibly boring. The sauces were one solid color each, there were absolutely no cashews to be found in the korma, and they were both supposed to be «medium» spicy and weren’t spiced at all. Typical quality Indian restaurants will have you tearing up a little at their«mild», nevermind medium. The mango lassi was tasty, but standard. Overall the food was Incredibly bland and not flavorful.
