I have not been to the Himalayas, but this place seems authentic. Gigantic menu, very reasonably priced, with friendly service and hot towels(!) after dinner. Nice option for date night. I’ll be back.

I had a great experience here. It was pretty busy(Sunday lunch) but the employees were very attentive, kept us updated and worked quickly to get us a seat. We only waited for about 10 minutes. They had a large menu as well as a buffet. The menu had a wide variety of options including a Nepalese section. I ordered from the Nepalese menu: chicken soup, lamb momo(dumplings) and the spiced potatoes. Everything was delicious and very well seasoned. Really generous portions too! We ordered some garlic naan for the table which was very good. My mom had mulligatawny soup and vegetable biryani which she found too spicy for her — she told them she didn’t like spicy so they made it mild(which turns out is still too spicy for her taste buds). I tried her mulligatawny soup and thought it was absolutely delicious! But yeah, if you dislike spicy stuff, be aware. They had a wine list and a decent beer selection with Indian and Thai(Singha) options. They had smoothie options on the menu but I was told they weren’t available that day for some reason. Service was attentive and very friendly. Would recommend! Oh and don’t forget to check in here on Unilocal for 10% off!

their food is delicious. However, they have the slowest delivery in history! You may actually die from starvation awaiting their delivery guy.

This food is so delicious and fresh! I love this place! I have tried nearly everything on the menu over the years. I have never had a dish I did not enjoy. The customer service is also top-notch. I only wish their delivery containers were paper rather than plastic.

Got delivery to my hotel. Driver didn’t want to come upstairs but eventually did. Food did not come with utensils which made it a wild goose chase for me to find some. The food was just ok. The momos I was super excited about were alright defintely not the best I’ve had and chicken curry was extremely bland. The reason I get Indian food is for the explosion of flavors which this was defintely lacking.

chicken tiki masala is my favorite. also the garlic naan is always a good choice. I usually prefer to carry out from here as it can be every quiet inside which isn’t so pleasant for me, I feel like everyone else can hear everything in staying. if you like that type of atmosphere you’d enjoy eating in. regardless the food is always delicious and if you sign up for their frequent customer card they send you coupons quite often which is nice.

This place is pretty highly reviewed so my bf and I thought we would try it. The lamb samosas were very tasty and came out fast(we arrived around 7:45pm). We also placed an order for the goat curry and the lamb vindaloo a few minutes after placing the order for the samosas. Unfortunately the dishes did not come out until about 8:35 so we waited a LONG time. The manager(?) came by at least 3 times to let us know that it would be out soon but it really was too long of a wait. The food itself was average. Both items had a very similar tomato based sauce(which tasted mostly like tomatoes). Vindaloo does NOT taste like regular curry so that was odd. It actually ended up being sweet which was strange. Both items were VERY mild even though we ordered one medium and one extra spicy. The quality of the ingredients was quite good. I could tell that everything was fresh. It was worth a try but we are sticking to regular olé Indian food because we need SPICE!

The customer service was amazing. It was my first time eating Indian food, and the waiter made sure to describe what ingredients were in each meal I wanted to order. I did not feel rushed to order and the food was delicious. In my opinion the food was not spicy at all, but I think that is up to preference.

GARLICNAAN: you never can go wrong with it. Great bread and garlic doesn’t overpower a lot. Plus for this dish. MACCHAKOTARKARI: it’s a haddock in curry sauce. I really enjoy it. It was a bit spicy for my liking but overall great dish. Comes with rice that spot on cooled perfectly! Keep in mind the menu have different selections: Indian, Nepali and Chines so it’s quit a bit menu.

I love going to this restaurant. Their service is great. Food is beyond delicious. Their MoMo is the best in the nation. And chicken tikka masala… Yummy! Kashmiri naan is great.

It’s not just that the food was mediocre, it’s that it was also overpriced. The food was flat and tasteless. I’m confused why this restaurant has received such good reviews. Perhaps it’s popular among people who don’t like spicy food or have never tasted real Nepali food, it was very disappointing. .not much atmosphere either. very poor service and mediocre dining area. Music was annoying… heavy on OMMMM sounds and canned hindu music… All around disappointment.

Excellent food for the price! They had a excellent buffet with chicken tandoori, nan, all sorts of vegetable dishes, samosas, and lamb curry.(lamb curry could be better without all the bones, ok should be removed because you could choke on this) Excellent flavors, spiritual ambiance, clean, hospitable service.

My boyfriend and I pick up here all the time. The food is really good but tonight’s experience was ridiculous. As we walked in to the store I «check in.» I saw that I had a ten percent off coupon when I checked in and asked the guy who was charging us if I could use the 10 percent off. He said«yes, but I want you to press the button as «used.”“So I said okay and right in front of him I showed him my phone and I clicked the used button. He said no, you didn’t click it, it’s suppose to have a stamp as used. He was arguing with me saying that I didn’t press«used» because there was no stamp, even though I pressed the button right in front of his face. This is unprofessional! How are you arguing with a customer for something that you saw with your own to eyes was done? Now I don’t even know if I want to go back. I guess I’ll just find another place to pick up from.

My boss and I ordered from here and it was pretty good. I had the medium spicy for my chicken tikka. Rice was separate. The naan was good, although it didn’t have as much garlic flavor as I like. I’ll probably order from here again.

I cant say this place wasn’t good but it wasn’t up to my standards any way. The price was good the services was good but the food to me was average. The Tiki Masala chicken chunks were far too big and I had to cut them smaller which takes away from the flavor and I tried both the tikka, beef, onion chutney, garlic naan. None of which were spicy to me. Like at all. I felt the options were limited and the flavors were just eh, and not bold which is why I like Indian cuisine. Not a bad meal but just ok.

Best of Boston? Far from it. Good? Just OK. Himalayan Bistro gets credit for friendly service and menu items that you don’t typically see on Indian menus in Boston. However, the food was not spicy at all even though hot was asked for. Beyond the heat, everything was flat. I’d use Himalayan Bistro only for carryout.

Some of the best Indian food I’ve had. Slightly pricey for dinner but I so is every other Indian restaurant when you don’t go for the buffet. Can’t speak to the restaurant experience, but the takeout we got was awesome. Didn’t love a few of the apps, but everything else was top notch, including the chicken tiki masala, aloo mutter and veggie samosas. Will definitely be back!

My boyfriend and I tried Himalayan Bistro thanks to a Unilocal deal I found, and we really enjoyed it! We got the meat version of the dinner for two for $ 45. If that price seems a little high, rest assured, you are getting your money’s worth. First of all, it should be labelled dinner for four; I’ve never taken home so many leftovers. Secondly, you get a great spread of food — samosas, soup, grilled meats, two entrees, rice, naan, and then dessert and tea or coffee. Everything was fresh and delicious, the grilled meats especially. It was a good way to get to order our favorite dish and try some new things at the same time. The service was also fantastic. We came in at a weird time in the middle of the afternoon to have a late lunch/early dinner. Even though the staff were in the middle of their meal and preparing for the dinner rush, our server was very attentive and always seemed to come by right when we needed something. We declined dessert because we were so full, but he packed up some rice pudding and what I think is the gulab jamun for us with our leftovers. All in all, two wonderful meals!

Yummy chicken tikka masala and thai soup. Everyone is so friendly. Reasonable prices. Good neighborhood spot. We’ll come back to try more adventurous menu offerings.
