I’d give them a 4 ½ stars. Definitely would order from them again.
Just had the Shrimp with mixed vegetables and a shrimp egg roll. The shrimp were quite large (16 – 20 count probably) in the entrée and the vegetables were very fresh (no canned mushrooms thank goodness). Very good portion size certainly enough for two normal people. The brown sauce was a little thin but that’s ok by me since that’s less cornstarch so a bit more calorie friendly.
The egg roll was also large. Sure it had mostly cabbage but there were actually decent sized pieces of shrimp in there.
I also ordered the hot and sour soup but am way too full to have it now. Will try to update later.

The best Chinese food takeout place around the area bar none. The food is always nice and fresh and the meat that they use do not taste past their due date unlike some other Chinese restaurants. They are also always busy around lunch time and dinner time so better give yourself some time.

Best Chinese take-​out place in the area. Big portions and better quality. I would choose this place over Yoan’s Garden for delivery, but I’m out of their delivery range.

Did some take out a while ago. The general tsao’s wasn’t too sweet and the sauce was very sticky. Not what I am used to, but still very good. The egg roll was perfect and the spare ribs were very tasty.
My wife especially liked the vegetable lo mein. Obviously, we got a bunch of food, but they said 10 minutes to pick up. I only had to wait 3 – 4 to get all my food, and they gave me a free 2 liter. I’d definitely go back here… shame they don’t deliver to Metuchen.

Amazing. That pretty much sums up my experience regarding the service and the food from here. I was in the area working in Woodbridge and had to get something for delivery so I checked Unilocal and my fellow Unilocalers did not let me down!
I ordered the Pepper Steak combo platter and they customized it exactly to my liking. The spice level that I asked for was delivered and the food was absolutely delicious. Probably the best take out Chinese food that I have ever had.
The woman who took my order was also an absolute sweetheart. She was patient and very kind.
Delivery took about 45 minutes.
The prices are a bit higher than other Chinese restaurants but the quality of the food makes it well worth it. This is my new go to Chinese restaurant!

As mentioned earlier, this place is a well oiled machine. Phone order was clearly understood and delivered within 30min! I really was excited to get the food and dive right in. First noticeable thing was that there was a lot of food, the containers are DEEP, and the food looks delicious. We had sesame chicken, chicken lo mein, chicken and broccoli, and chicken wings. We kept the order simple and we ordered our usual favorites so that we can compare to our other local spot. I can tell you enough how good these chicken wings were, they blew my mind! The lo mein was, according to my wife, ‘the best she’s ever had’. The chicken and broccoli tasted average, nothing spectacular but it wasn’t bad either. The sesame chicken was a huge disappointment, the sauce is too thick and sticky and really makes the chicken soft rather than crispy. There was just a tiny sprinkle of sesame seeds on top as if it were put on last minute in a hurry. I was really hoping that this would be our new local Chinese food take-​out place but it seems that all things considered we will continue to order from somewhere else… The food looks great but in my overall opinion, it was bland, I really wish is had more character and flavor.

Very clean restaurant. There is seating inside approximately eight or nine tables. The restaurant was air-​conditioned and offers complementary hot oolong tea. Four of us shared an order of panfried dumplings, Singapore mei fun, chicken with mixed vegetables and a pint of noodle soup. All the food was extremely tasty and very fresh tasting. The vegetables in particular were outstanding. Very fresh ingredients. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this establishment and I would definitely return.

I’m from Brooklyn so anyone from Brooklyn understands how difficult it is to find good Chinese food in NJ. With that being said this place pleasantly surprised me. I got chicken with broccoli which I liked and my sister got the sesame chicken which I loved! 4 stars only because the chicken with broccoli could’ve been a bit better but I’ll definitely be back!

I like the food but not the attitude of the staff. I was waiting in line to order and was told to wait while another person (who was behind me) was served. This isn’t the first time this has happened. You also notice a huge difference in the way they talk to you– super friendly for white folk, okay for North asian folk– and downright rude for people of color. And yes the person behind me– was white.
No greasy Chinese joint is worth our dignity. I’m taking my business elsewhere! Everyone else be warned. No one deserves to be treated with such disrespect.

By far my favorite Chinese restaurant ever. Their food is delicious and inexpensive. Every one is so friendly here. You want good Chinese food you seriously need to check this place out!

I’ve been a patron of China Café for years — surprised that I haven’t Unilocal’ed it yet so I am here to right that wrong. I grew up on NYC Chinatown restaurants so I have a very specific taste that I look to be met. For a take out restaurant, China Café is the best I have experienced not only in my area but for most of NJ. I even had them cater my daughter’s sweet 16 birthday party — the only complaint was that they way over estimated the amount of food but that was partly our mistake as we learned teenagers are not big eaters at parties. The counter staff is super pleasant and all speak English very well. Their hot and sour soup is what I measure other restaurants against and so far very few come close to theirs. I have to admit, we’ve had a few disappointing meals there but they are few and far between. We normally take out as the dining area is small but when it’s just me and misses and it’s not too busy, we’ll eat in. Our other favorite spot is Noodle Gourmet near the Rutgers New Brunswick campus — I think they a broader yet different menu. But for Chinese takeout, in our book, there’s none better than China Café.

So I’m sitting at my office desk in NYC, clearly unsatisfied with my chinese takeout order and remembering how good China Café is. I’ve been going here for the last 15 or so years when I lived around the area and it’s definitely the best chinese takeout place I’ve been to.
For some reason, I’m convinced the quality of food is just better than your average random chinese takeout place and feels «cleaner». I’ve noticed the prices have increased over the years but demand still stays high (especially during lunch and dinner times) which is a clear testament to the food. The workers there have always been nothing but friendly/​professional and I am surprised that some of them even recognize me from 10 years ago.
Living in NYC now, its mind boggling how terrible some of the chinese takeout places are here and wish there could even be one place that makes food as good as China Café.

Very generous portions. I fancy the chicken and beef chow fun. The chicken and beef is probably of the best quality from a Chinese take out; tender and natural tasting without being rubbery, chewy, or squishy. But it’s not always consistent. And I’ve a different opinion per menu item. Didn’t enjoy the BBQ pork ribs (sugar coated and fried in fat?) or General Tso’s chicken. Cheese wantons are a treat. Can’t win it all but they probably are the best in the area.

Wow– tightly run ship over here. The man who answered the phone spoke clear English and made sure to read the order back in its entirety before hanging up. I arrived and my order was being packed up. We got a free liter of soda with our order since it was large.
The food– amazing best Chinese I have ever had. Order was 100% correct.

Best Gah Damn chinese i have had since moving to NJ from Dc (wishing for mombo sauce) every dish ive had is perfect, large quantities and large shrimp.

Great food for a great price. I have gotten all types of meals and have been very happy with all of them. Very popular with chinese people as well, so you know it’s pretty good. Great lunch specials, but it can be quite busy.

I was super excited to come to this place, since I’ve very seldom seen an establishment get 5 stars. I came with a friend and told her that the food was supposed to be excellent here… I spoke too soon.
While it wasn’t terrible, it was average, at best. I ordered the shrimp and broccoli in garlic sauce and it probably had the least amount of favor in many other places that I’ve tried. I can tell you that the broccoli and the shrimp seemed really fresh and of good quality but the flavor was just blah. The fried rice was awful. I had to drown it in duck and soy sauce to get ANY flavor out of it.
Will not return.

Real good Chinese food and at the right price.

You can’t go wrong with Chinese Food, especially if you stick with China Café’s. My family is in the area and we LOVE LOVE LOVE coming here! My personal favorites are their famous general tso chicken, beef stew noodles, jumbo shrimps, and mixed vegetables in the white sauce. This is not your ordinary chinese take-​out restaurant. The foods are not greasy, they are full of flavors, and the staff are super sweet. This place is very clean too.
FYI: Come with a big stomach because their portions are huge! Definitely a bang for your bucks! Thank you China Café for feeding my stomach!

This may look like a regular Chinese fast food restaurant, but the food here is unbelievable and your taste buds will explode with happiness and delight. Like everyone has written the chicken wings are amazing, but try the Chinese Beef Stew Noodle Soup and Singapore Mei Fun or Beef Chow Fun. You will not regret your order. I used to live in the restaurant and I ate there as a child with my parents, and I still come to this restaurant, whenever I have the chance. Mind the fact that I am around my 20’s, so whenever you feel the urge for some outstanding Chinese food, you know what to do.
