I’ve eaten here twice now, and both times I have been majorly disappointed with the food. And for a sit down restaurant this is inexcusable. The food is worse than those express Chinese fast food joints you see everywhere. I ordered the orange chicken lunch special the last time, and it barely qualifies as orange chicken. The chicken was dry and overcooked and the sauce was a watery bright neon orange with burnt slices of orange peels in them to make it more«authentic». It came with fried rice that was stale. The food here is definitely NOT fresh and I feel bad for even putting it in my body. And for 7 $ it’s not even that cheap. Do yourself a favor and drive an extra block to the Panda Express for food that is way fresher and more delicious and cheaper than this place. I will not be returning again.

I really hate to write a negative review, as not everything about this restaurant deserves just 1 star, but based on their moneymaker alone: the food, I feel the need to share my experience. This restaurant has decent décor and service, but the food is a different story. I’ve been eating Chinese food my entire life, and this meal left me unsatisfied, vowing to never return. We ordered the orange chicken with fried rice and the spicy beef noodle soup. When Panda Express can make a better orange chicken, I really have no words. The spicy beef noodle soup was oily and unappetizing. We recommend Fortune House instead for Chinese food in the Irving area. The price is a little steeper, but I would gladly pay the ~$ 3 difference to have quality food. Real Chinese food is not supposed to taste like this. I wish someone would’ve given me the same honest advice.

Basic local Asian diner food. Not really impressed with the Mongolian beef or the steamed dumpling. Beef was overlooked and tough. The dumplings were under cooked and doughy with no flavor to be found even after smothering them in ponzu sauce.

Tried the fish soup was good but could have used a little more seasoning but the rest of our order was delish. We shared sesame chicken and sweet n sour chicken. I would definitely recommend this place but I do not endorse the egg roles.

I am the hardest person to convince to eat Chinese food. I have been burned out on slimy, chewy mystery meat they try to serve you, but this place has me hooked! I had the non-spicey beef string bean and the beef they used was top notch. Service was great. My table of picky eaters were all satisfied when we left.

Fantastic service(both ladies are very attentive), excellent food, and very reasonable prices! They also reward you with a free lunch after 10 lunch visits. What more can you ask for?

I was impressed with the PRICE, QUANTITY, and QUALITY of the food. The only concern is they charge extra for brown rice and I feel this should be offered without an upcharge. Overall I was very pleased.

This is small family owned restaurant, the food is always fresh and portions are good. The staff is friendly and added bonus is your punch card buy 10 lunches and the 11th is on them no question asked. I go for lunch often and the lunch menu has something for everyone. My favorite is Kung Pao Shrimp! Give it a try!

Wherever you are, it’s important that you have a «place» for Chinese take out. Since moving to Irving, I’ve made Little Hunan my place. I literally eat here on a weekly basis and I’m not someone who typically repeats meals that often. I’ve never ordered something and wasn’t pleased with my order. The food is always fresh and HOT ! Even by the time I get home the food will be as hot as it was when they plated it ! Good family owned place with good food and good portion sizes !

Went for lunch on Sunday. The food was good, fresh and tasty. You can see them cooking right through the glass window. The waitress was humble and polite. Try crab rangoon and spicy orange chicken. They are really good. The portions are large enough and can be easily shared between two people. The prices are good and won’t burn a hole in your pocket.

I discovered Little Hunan when I started working in Irving and it’s become one of my regular go-to spots for lunch. Little Hunan is nestled in the corner of the huge shopping center off of MacArthur Blvd and it’s a small family-run restaurant that’s never busy. Service is good and the waitresses are very attentive. Whether I am placing a to-go order or dining in, my food is always hot and fresh and drinks are never empty. My favorite dishes are the General Tsao’s Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, and Ming’s Shrimp. The crab rangoon and potstickers for appetizers and both are delicious as well. My favorite thing about Little Hunan are the great lunch specials which are all under $ 10. They include an entrée item and your choice of fried rice or steamed rice. For every lunch entrée purchased you get a stamp on the diner’s card. Once you reach 10 stamps you can redeem the card for a free lunch. For the price of fast food restaurants nowadays, it’s better to come here instead.

The beef in the Mandarin Spicy Beef lunch special tasted like it had been precooked days before. It was tough and chewy, like partially re-hydrated beef jerky. Sauce was very sweet, and not spicy.

The Egg Drop Soup alone deserves Five Stars. I personally feel it’s the best in the area especially if your don’t like your egg drop yellow and filled with corn starch. Overall the main dishes are above average. Lunch prices are reasonable for the area and portions are large. It’s also one of the few Chinese Restaurants in the area that offers Brown Rice as a side.

Went there for lunch today, and for the price you get a good amount of food– the only problem was that the food tasted clear. I was so disappointed to find that I had wasted my money on oily flavorless lo mein and egg drop soup that could have just been egg boiled in water.

Located within a walking distance, Little Hunan has been more than a mere convenience to pick up Chinese food for me. If not the best Chinese in Irving, it still has been consistent in serving fresh and decent tasting Chinese food for a moderate price. Mostly, I would opt for take-out but there is a nice and clean, good-size seating area. With few other good Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese and a useless Indo-Chinese in the same line, the parking is jam-packed during weekdays lunch hour; not sure though which among them is entertaining the bigger flock, nonetheless, all but one make a good option for your gastro-entertainment. This little area of restaurants is the shortest distance that you can take from Vietnam to Japan, culinarily; of course you have to pass through Thailand and China to reach there.

So disappointing! Unilocal you let me down — how is it possible this place has decent reviews? Ordered chicken with broccoli which was oily and flavorless. Will not be returning.

Soup was four star. Shredded pork w garlic sauce was serviceable but nothing special and certainly not hot and spicy as advertised. Pleasant setting.

Little Hunan is deceiving. When you see it, you don’t think much of it. It’s a restaurant in a strip shop right along with a few other restaurants right in a row. You may think that it may rate from being bad to decent, but nothing to write home about. In this case, that assumption is totally wrong! I’ve been to Little Hunan time after time, and it never disappoints! The staff is helpful and friendly! You can actually see in the kitchen from the dining area. Their veggie egg rolls are hot, crisp, and taste fresh. I’m not sure if they are made fresh there or not, but they’re real good! The family style bean curd is real flavorful! They give very large portions that you can share… it’s real filling! Huge pieces of tofu along with plenty of veggies as well! Every time I come into Little Hunan when I’m in the area, I’m very satisfied! Be sure to grab one of their frequent visitor cards so you can start to get it stamped… if you go once you will go again! I’m probably going to bump it up to a 4 star rating the next time I take a trip to Irving!

Excellent Combination Fried Rice! Best I’ve found in the area. The Won Ton Soup was very good as well. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area!
