This review never posted, so I am finishing it up. They were an hour and a half late and no utensils or napkins! Not good when you’re cooped up in hotel traveling. Food was cold and only offered 20 percent off bill after calling back in. Did not see this supposed discount on my bill. Ha! I see this place is now closed! Good!

Not sure about all the poor reviews here. I was introduced to the restaurant by a friend of mine, and was pleasantly surprised that they have delicious and authentic dumplings and steamed buns. I didn’t try any of the Americanized dishes, but they probably have the best dumplings in all of Dallas. And being Chinese, I’m picky about my Chinese food. I’m giving it 4 stars because I only had the dumplings and buns. I’m not sure if I would ever try the dishes given the other reviews here.

A little Leary after reading other reviews, but food is good. The lady taking the order was not friendly and delivery took an hour. General Chicken has good spice and Chicken Fried Rice is flavorful.

I came home from work tonight(1÷17÷2014) to find one of their menu’s in my door, I’ve been wanting to find a good Chinese restaurant in the area since I’m new here, so I decided to give them a try for dinner. I called to place a delivery order, the lady that answered the phone was very rude, it was so obvious that she was rushing me off the phone, so much so that they had to call me back because she didn’t get my card number correct(She didn’t even bother confirming the card number on the initial call because she was in such a rush). The food was«ok», but because of the poor service she provided, I most likely will not be a repeat customer.

Do not try the Mongolian Beef… Ugh! More like watery beef with gravy :-(
This is not Chinese food. I ordered the Mongolian beef and it looked like mongolian slop. It was so watery and there were mostly mushrooms… Where’s the Beef?

I’m surprised by the number of negative reviews. I ordered delivery tonight, and this is some of the best Chinese food i have ever had. I ordered the Spicy Sambol Oelek(#304). Unlike some places, this truly is spicy. The beef was fresh, light and flavorful. Lots of veggies, but plenty of meat. The lettuce wraps were amazing! The pork stuffing was richly flavored and lightly sweet. Wonderful food, overall. The delivery was very slow(1 hr, 20 min), but the food was worth it

I can’t speak for everything else but the wonton soup and the General Tso’s chicken are freaking amazing!

Went there a few weeks ago and it was awesome. Had the General Tsoa chicken and Orange Chicken. Went last night and ordered the exact same thing but got something else entirely. Some how they just sent out what they wanted me to have and not what I ordered to go. And the food was not even half as good last night.

If you are wanting to eat then this is the place not to go to. The food is very bland, cold, and the service is horrible. I went there with a co-worker and we had to wait to be greeted and have our drink order taken. The place only had a couple of tables so there shouldn’t have been a delay. We got our drinks and after eyeing almost every waiter that passed by some guy came took our order and rushed us the whole time. He did not go over the lunch special and when asked what he recommended he had a puzzled look. That should have been my first sign to run for it. I ordered tuna that was slightly seared and when I got it was cold, over done, and seemed as if it was pre-cooked then frozen.

I don’t know why this place has so many poor reviews. I have been eating here since I moved here in March and have yet to have a bad experience. I have only had delivery but they are always friendly and the food is good. It is typical Chinese takeout food– not over the top but still really good! I definitely recommend people to give this place a shot.

Location is nice, love to sit in the back overlooking the view when dining in. I’ve always enjoyed the food I’ve had, it’s good just not fabulous. I love hot and sour soup and almost always order it at Asian restaurants. Theirs is good, just doesn’t taste like hot and sour soup. The Lion’s Head soup was amazing and a lot of food for the money. Every time I’ve ordered the portions are huge and worth the price

I went in without looking at the Unilocal reviews first! i swear i will never make that mistake again! This had to be the absolute worst Chinese food I have ever had. Asides from the hot and sour soup resembling nothing that I have ever seen before it my husbands Mongolian beef for $ 8 with very little beef and tons of veggies. I have to put a star however they deserved no stars from me. the reason why no star there were ants crawling across our table. I have photographs! Stay away!

I took the wife for dinner and it was okay. I didn’t have a strong opinion one way or the other.

Wow. We ordered delivery from this place and were told that they would be here within 45 minutes. An hour later I called to check the status of the order, and was told the driver was on his way. An hour and half later i called AGAIN and was told the food was on its way and the driver had just called for directions. Directions? Isn’t he supposed to know where he is going before he leaves??? When he did get here(an hour and forty five minutes later) we realized they got one of our orders wrong and when I called they, of course, said that I ordered the wrong thing. But they would send an order of Chicken Lo Mein right away. When the driver got here he handed me a receipt for the Chicken Lo Mein. I cannot believe they were THAT late, got my order wrong and STILL charged me for the correction. When I called to ask for a refund and spoke to the manager, she asked if I sent the rice back with the driver? Send it back? What are they gonna do? Re-serve it??? She then told me that I could bring back the rice anytime and get a refund. She called it company policy. So company policy is to send the wrong(COLD) order and to charge the customer for the correction? Its not about the $ 8.95. If she would have told me over the phone that they were going to charge me again it would be different. But they had no authorization to charge my card again. Oh and by the way my crab rangoon was stale and my rice was burnt. My sushi was falling apart and it looked like they just threw it in the box. The salad had no dressing(just iceberg and carrots). My coworker also said her chicken and vegetables tasted like nothing. Overall a really bad experience and terrible food.

Had delivery/take-out from this place Saturday for lunch. It was a large corporate order and they pretty much got the whole order correct with no mistakes. As a result, I’m not going to give up on this place just yet because they have awesome customer service, the flavor of their cuisine is good and the location is convenient and clean. BUT! they HAVE to stop serving those little cheap salad shrimp in shrimp dishes. if someone orders shrimp fried rice or lo mein, they are ordering it because they want shrimp with the rice or noodles. shrimp dishes should at least have decent sized shrimp. even the small shrimp would suffice. this place gives you tons of shrimp in your order, but they are the very small salad shrimp, making the experience with the dish highly underwhelming. this makes me sad because i really like the spices and flavor included in their fried rice and their lo mein… but salad shrimp are for SALAD.

So I wanted to give them another chance because I just hate to base everything off of one dish… so I got the singapore rice vermicelli with the bbq pork… and it was not great at all. The flavor and taste was not balanced and somewhat bland… I am just so disappointed… It is officially over for me with this place. They should change their name to Die Nasty. because it was just that… NASTY

Blech! MSG overload!!! Immediately after eating their crappy food, I got a massive headache that lasted all day! My boyfriend and I were both very disappointed with our orders and gave up eating after a few bites(we were still, unfortunately, very hungry). I really should’ve just thrown out the food but we were both hoping that it would taste better the next day. WHATWEREWETHINKING??! Because the next day, all the grease/oil floated to the top and… ugh, yuck! Vom city. The only redeeming qualities about this place was that(1) our orders were correct and(2) the man on the phone and the delivery guy were really nice. Aside from that, this place pretty much blows. :(

Salty, small portions, rude on the phone — but with a REALLY nice delivery guy who likes dogs. I wasn’t feeling good this past Friday, so I ordered delivery from Hunan Dynasty at about 7pm via their«order online» feature. I got a call back 15 minutes later from the gal at the front desk of the restaurant, I assume — who took my credit card info first and then let me know just before she hung up that it should take… ANHOUR… for my delivery. I live 10min or less away, and well within their delivery zone, that seemed pretty ridiculous even for a Friday night. When the delivery guy arrived he was a nice guy who didn’t mind my mildly vocal«guard» dog(she’s a labradoodle, her fluffy stature is less than intimidating) — and even invited her over so he could pet her while I signed the check and gave a tip. The bag seemed big and heavy — so I was excited! Maybe they had given me bigger portions because I had, in reality, actually waited 90 minutes for my food? When I opened it up, I was most looking forward to the seaweed salad I had ordered. But when I opened it… it was *1* ounce, read: 1 — I weighed it in my kitchen scale I was so appalled, of seaweed salad that they had packed on top of *3* ounces of iceberg lettuce. Talk about cheap filler. I was SO disappointed, especially after paying $ 5+ for it. I also ordered Summer rolls, which weren’t bad — normally dry, these were fairly yummy and came with a really nice thick peanut sauce. I also ordered Chicken Lo Mein — which came in a huge serving, but had very little chicken and was overly salty. Overall, can’t say I’d order from them again. I’ll be trying the other Chinese places in the area, in hopes of somewhere providing more of what you order for what you pay — and who are honest up front about timing.

This is one of those rare times when I look up a restaurant I like and find that the reviews don’t seem to match my experience. My husband and I have been eating at Hunan Dynasty for about 4 years. Like a lot of places, the food is often good, but inconsistent — seems like what you get just depends on who is cooking on a given night. That said, it’s still our go-to place for American Chinese, because I feel they use better ingredients — fresher/more vegetables, nicer less fatty beef, etc. than Royal Chopstix, which is a little more convenient to our home. 4 stars(really more like 3.75) is because I recently got some sushi takeout from there that arrived home warm, and I couldn’t tell if it was because of the way it was packed next to the hot food, or if it was just not stored properly. Gross. I did not take the chance and eat it, though I did risk feeding a little of it to my cats, who were super stoked and didn’t seem the worse for it. We don’t often dine in here, but when we do, the view from the back room is nice at sunset, and they serve a decent hot ginger tea.

Never had Hot and Sour soup with cabbage before, and while a nice change of pace, ultimately failed taste-wise(hint: add the crispy noodles they give you to the soup… adds texture and makes it better somehow). My wife’s Egg Drop Soup was even worse, as it tasted like a bowl of flavorless snot. We also ordered chicken dumplings for an appetizer, but it came with the meal, so that wasn’t what we had in mind. They were OK, but mostly made of chicken. And no dipping sauce? May I suggest teriyaki or something? For the main course, I ordered something out-of-the-ordinary for me: the fried seafood platter. I had fish, shrimp, calimari,(one) softshell crab and(one) scallop, with a spicy dipping sauce on the side. They all tasted pretty much the same, but the sauce was good. I will also say the calimari was cooked very well, and didn’t have any hints of rubber texture often associated with it. I had some rice on the side, but what am I supposed to eat it with? I added soy, but the whole dish was very dry. Wish I got my wife’s Spicy Chicken Curry, which she seemed to like and I thought was very good. Best-tasting part of the meal was probably my wife’s Passion Green Tea, which I gladly sampled twice :) Also, the waitress was very nice, but very awkward. And the place was pretty much empty. I see potential, so I’d come back again, but don’t see any reason to come here instead of a place like Pei Wei.
