Love this place! If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food look no further. They always have food hot and ready and the best part is it’s fresh.

I got a plate of 3 chicken enchiladas(rice + beans) they didn’t have regular chicken so she put chicken fajitas in the enchilada. The chicken was dark and gray, just bad meat. The meat is all Premade and sitting in the front Buffet style, it looks dry and greasy. Overly salted food my plate ended up costing $ 9.

The cashier was nice, but the food was terrible. Paid for 4 people to eat and most of the food was left untouched. 2 thumbs down.

Definately a 5. The food is done fresh in the large well stocked open kitchen. Everything I have had is excellent. The made fresh to order Chile relenos are the best I’ve ever had and I’ve tested many in my 55 years. The chorizo and egg burritos are another treat but don’t expect to get it real fast they are made to order and we’ll worth the wait.

To the people who wrote bad reviews about this place: go back to Chipotle… you either don’t know or can’t handle real Mexican food. Will Baja Rosarito give you a stomach ache? Probably. Will Baja Rosarito serve you Perrier? I doubt it. Does this place have authentic tacos? Yes. Much better than most of the places in this part of town.

First time I came here was when I was pregnant. Oh man, I fell in love with the enchiladas. Every place makes it their way, but this place is good. Cheese tastes so fresh! This time I decided to get flautas, because they were soon to be closing and it’s all they had. Will give them four stars, since hey had no salsa and only few options to choose from.

First time I tried it was with coworkers. The food was good and so was the horchata. Spent 8 $ on a meal Overall I was satisfied

Came here with a friend on their recommendation. The food was surprisingly OK. Service could use a lot of improvement. I’m not a big fan of eating Mexican food when it’s under a heat lamp… I guess I prefer when I can’t see the kitchen(or the heat lamp). The food didn’t look all that appetizing, but to my surprise tasted OK. The person that helped us had an attitude like ‘UGHWHATDOYOUWANT!’. You could totally tell she didn’t want to be there and was over her job. Restaurant in a shady area of Hawthorne… Probably will not be coming back.

Carnitas were dry. Beans were dry. Place smelled of urine.

It is a little hole-in-the-wall in a small corner strip mall. They serve wonderful, authentic, homestyle Mexican food. I love a burrito made with their chicharon stew, also their large delicious chile rellenos. As others have noted, their carnitas is also very good. The only thing they never seem to have is buche. Would be 5 stars for food only, but I gave it 4 because, lets face it, the place is kind of greasy spoonish.

Came to Baja Rosarito for the famous carnitas. It is hard to find a restaurant that prepares and serves good carnitas, their carnitas are crispy on the outside, and moist inside. I took the carnitas to go to make my own tortas, and the very freindly lady at the counter offered me some red sauce to add to it, the sauce was great, it was a perfect match. That sauce reminded me of a sauce that is frequently used on tortas in Guadalajara, MX. I want to try their shrimp soup next time, it looks so good. This place is a hidden gem in the South Bay, I highly suggest you give a try for Breakfast, lunch, or Dinner. Oh, almost forgot, Cash only…

This place is the real deal! Its a hole in the wall restaurant with great food. The menu changes daily so keep an open mind when you come. The best food is served buffet style so I recommend coming around noon time when the food is the freshest. All the food is made fresh in the morning including all the vegetables that are chopped right in the restaurant.

The ordeal began some 30 min after I finished my lunch plate of dry and greasy carnitas with a steady, building nausea and a feeling that nothing good was forthcoming. By 2:00PM it turned out to be so as the non-stop vomiting began. Everything I’d eaten for the past 12 hours resurrected itself in a hurling mess and went on for another eight hours. One good thing about food poisoning, you look like you’re in shape for the next three days. You’re all dehydrated. ‘Hey, thanks Baja Rosarito, I’m ripped. I’m cut up.’

I have tried the chicken pozole and pork menudo. Big portions and the cooks are very kind. Has a homey feeling. Cash only. Contrary to previous reviewers, MENUDOISSERVEDONLYWEEKENDS. I took the liberty in asking the cook. lol.

My girlfriend and I stopped in for a look and decided to have a nibble. The food is the closest to sitting down in a home kitchen in Mexico City that we’ve had in all of LA. The ingredients are fresh, all natural and clearly made with love. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. We had the pollo con crema(chicken w/cream sauce) and juevos con nopales(eggs w/cactus). This place is definitely worth the trip and all I can say is, ¡Que rico!

A KITCHENFULLOFMEXICANMOTHERLOVE. Forget the menu(which is extensive), if you know Mexican food, just order what you want. They have it somewhere back behind the counter. They have every ingredient for anything from a mexican kitchen, breakfast, lunch or dinner For $ 5 you can get the juiciest and best tasting carnitas burrito on earth. Caldos — pozole, birria, menudo, etc are cooking for days(I think).

Fine selection of Mexican treats in this hole-in-the-wall on the Lennox/Hawthorne border. As mentioned below, they do offer menudo and birria throughout the week, but the draw for me has to be the variety of dishes presented in a style similar to Ramona’s or a cafeteria. Behind the glass counter are offerings of various picados, costillas in salsa verde(!!) or roja w/nopal(!!!), guisos, chiles rellenos, chicharron and your normal taco-stand fare. If you make the trip however, let me recommend the costilla or chicharron preparations, in either the salsa roja or verde. Both sauces are flavorful and spicy, and complement the choice of meat perfectly. A combination plate of either meat choice comes with beans(refried and delicious), rice and a couple of tortillas. Finger licking good eats!

They sell menudo on weekdays! How many times have I gone to a restaurant that advertised menudo only to find they only serve it on Sat and Sun? Had to run some errands in my old neighborhood and decided to grab a bit at this joint located on Imperial Highway on the border of Lennox and Hawthorne. I was standing there in a state of «I’m starving and can’t decide what to eat» modes when the lady behind the counter said, «want some menudo?» Yeeaah! A major bowl of hot tasty tripe soup. Pop in some menudo spices, ground chilies and splash of lime and I was there. You know what I am talking about. Man it hit the spot! I was in a hurry and could not stay to enjoy more of their hot delicious fare, but next time! Next time? Birria de chivo.
