Just checked this place out before going to a concert last night, and I’m so glad I did! It’s kind of tucked away and hard to find, but it’s worth looking for as it is just like stepping into an actual English pub. The décor is very understated and has a comfortable atmosphere; it is a VERY small space which I think works well for the kind of pub it is. The food is a bit pricey, but well worth the cost, and they have a wonderful Scotch selection. Our bartender Jose was awesome! My bf and I had a wonderful time talking to him and a couple of regulars who stopped by. Definitely a great place to get a good quality meal and drinks if you’re looking for a more intimate and mature atmosphere. I known that they have a live bluegrass band play on the weekends, so I imagine it could get pretty cramped then, but otherwise it’s a wonderful alternative to the noisy, crowded bars that take up the rest of Broad Ripple.

The Welly is my favorite bar in Broad Ripple. Great date spot. Music downstairs and can be quiet and intimate upstairs :)

This place has great atmosphere! Excellent place to stop in for a pint or three, some decent pub grub and a game of darts. I stopped in Saturday night and had the Swedish Meatballs. They were tasty but nothing special, though for the price I can’t complain. I would’ve added a third star but the bartender had absolutely zero personality and acted like he was doing us a favor — not exactly the kind of service you expect in this kind of setting. Still, I highly recommend stopping in. Great place for a late afternoon /early evening drink!

Two words: Bourbon Flights. They had a nice selection and good pours. We also ordered their cheese fondue and their lobster bisque. The cheese fondue plate was very good and the lobster bisque was okay. Very creamy but lacked any chunks of lobster. Service was good. I’d like to go back soon and try some of their other menu options.

Great English hole in the wall pub. Real darts. Small, but great beer selection. Live music downstairs. Part of The Corner Wine Bar. While it’s not a hidden gem anymore, I still love the cozy atmosphere.

Very cozy bar. Fun place to relax and play some darts. Can get a bit tight on busy nights and doesn’t have a great beer selection.

Great place to be on Friday and Saturday night. Touch of Grass plays every week on those nights starting at 9PM.

I’ve only been to the Wellington pre/post visits to the Corner Wine Bar. However, I’ve never been dissapointed or let down by the service and atmosphere. Unlike some of the broadripple bars, it is usually a more adult crowd and considerably less crowded. They have decent specials, a great wine selection for my wife, and a respectible local brew selection for me. It might not be my number one place to go for a local brew, but it has certainly lived up to the challenege every time I’ve called upon it.

Oh how I love stopping in here! With the dim lights and cozy booth seating, it’s a great escape from the chilly winter air. But that alone won’t get a bar a five star review from me-the cocktail list is diverse and impressive and the bartenders here are incredibly talented at mixing them up! Drink specials every night of the week is an added bonus. Enjoy cozying up with your sweetheart or enjoy a competitive game of darts with friends!

A great English pub tucked away in a little corner of Broadripple. I have been here several times and I take clients here too. Occasionally on weekends they will open basement and have some live entertainment. It is one of the places you always come back to. Also lets talk about there brews. They always have something new. I love it in the fall when the bring out the variations of pumpkin and full body brews. You will not be disappointed with this place. I suggest trying it on a week night first as weekends tend to get crowded.

You can easily miss this place, as it is tucked in so well next to Corner Wine Bar… good for a few beers and a game of darts.

I love The Wellington, aka The Welly. If you like smaller, more quiet venues, this place is for you. The bartender, no matter who, is always great. What they lack in space, they make up in service and wine/beer offerings. With the size of the bar, there’s only one bartender, but the atmosphere is worth the wait. Easily makes my top 5 favorite places in Broad Ripple.

Small space but great atmosphere. The Wellington Pub has amazing daily deals like $ 3 pints on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. This pub is best for groups of 2 – 4 people because of it’s very limited space. The entrance can be tough to find, look for a sign set back into a doorway with a sign and arrows pointing to the way in. They usually have 6 beers on draft including the ever present Bell’s Brewery beers. Can’t wait to go back on a cold snowy day.

The Welly really makes me miss living in Broad Ripple. A little drink, some live bluegrass, and a group of good friends — ah, those were the days. I love how it’s tucked away in a corner like a dirty little secret hidden in the heart of the village. Right below the Corner Wine Bar, unmarked like a speakeasy, the Wellington appeals to a pretty casual, mature crowd. Just follow the rabbit hole… Before I was married, my crew would go here for the comfortable atmosphere. This is not your typical Broad Ripple bar. If you want to avoid the bar hoppers and club crawlers, then you’re in the right place. On the weekends, be prepared for a crowded room. The downstairs is VERY small, and only holds a few tables. Get a table early and plan on staying here all night. Oh — they don’t smoke in here anymore. Just FYI.

This watering hole is a quaint escape from most of the bars in Broad Ripple. An extension of the restaurant it is attached to, The Wellington(or «The Welly», as it is affectionately called) has local brews on tap and can make most mixed drinks. It has old-style, cork board and steel tip darts if you’re in the mood for a game of Cricket or 501. I know one bartender there, Jessica, who genuinely ensures to take care of her customers. There isn’t a jukebox and this is no sports bar. This is a step away from the mainstream where you can hold a conversation with your companions. This is, easily, one of my Top 5 bars to frequent in Indianapolis.

I really love this place. It’s tucked back on Guilford off the strip, so it doesn’t really get the usual clubby Broad Ripple crowd. You are likely to miss it if you don’t know where it is. I have gone here late with friends and always had great service, though it gets pretty crowded late since it’s so tiny. I’ve also gone here during the day to have a before-dinner drink or even get some work done while it’s quiet and empty. The servers are awesome. They know what they’re doing and are attentive and friendly. If you go there relatively often they will recognize you and get to know your drink. It’s nice to have a friendly face to greet you and make you a great drink! The atmosphere is intimate and inviting. A great place for a date, since you can actually socialize rather than yell at each other over loud music. I hold the Welly close to my heart. I’ve had a lot of great times there, and I love introducing friends to this sweet little spot they’d otherwise walk right past. Oh! And I love their martinis which are $ 5 on Mondays. They also have great pint specials on(I believe) Tuesday and Wednesday.

Cute bar next to Artifacts. We sat at the bar this was our first stop for drinks, I had a Brie plate with apples and bread. There really wasn’t a good«guy“appetizer on the menu. I was happy with it though. Then we had to go to kilroys for the guys to have their breadsticks and chicken strips. Definitely liked the atmosphere at the bar and will come back. Good daily drink specials

This bar is different than all of the other bars in Broad Ripple. It isn’t too large inside, but it’s cozy. It looks like a true English Pub.(not that I’ve been to England, but if I could imagine it, it would be like this). Soo. nice atmosphere! My boyfriend and I love to come here and play darts! It’s definitely worth a visit! They have a nice beer selection.
