It feels sad here. Like the tamest hospital food, and just as sad of a place(the workers included). Old kitschy pictures and thank-you notes from little league teams is no substitute for character. Purists be ye warned: we’re definitely using some iteration of Kraft barbecue sauce. It seems the brisket is subject to extremes – either flavorless and dry or flavorless and soggy. Mac and cheese gets the creaminess down, and I can tell it wants to shine – I know it does! – but like its neighbor on my plate, it lacks any taste. And that really sums up the grub here: it’s not horribly bad, there just isn’t any taste.

FIRST– The address in the listing is wrong! Mo’s is where they have always been for 25 years– 8321FM1960, about a mile west of where the Unilocal listing shows. Their BBQ is as good as it has always been. We moved from the area 15+ years ago and still make a point to dine here when in the area. The Mo Spud with BBQ is the best! Mo’s is the standard by which we measure BBQ which is saying a lot considering a very large metro area with a lot of excellent dining choices!

I read another review on here after i ate there. One of the reviews hit everything right on. The meat does not taste like its been grilled on a pit or smoked. The meat tastes boiled or baked and has a poor excuse for bbq sauce. The sides they served were obviously canned sides. I had green beans and baked beans. The green beans come also flavorless besides a little bacon bits sprinkled on them and the baked beans are a joke. I literally think they were Van De Kamps pork n beans or something. Needless to say it was a huge disappointment and they are pretty expensive for no apparent reason. I can cook better food than this with my gas grill at home. I think they could have at least used Bush’s beans if you are going to use canned beans. I will conclude with the first thing that popped into my mind when eating the food was Robert Irvine from Restaurant Impossible and what his face would look like if he tasted this bland flavorless food.

Oh-Mo! This is an up/down review. Some stuff not so good… some stuff great. So the fries are pretty bad… but that was ok, as I don’t really need to be eating those anyway. The baked potatoes are huge and loaded even as a side. The chopped barbecue is a little too greasy and not nearly as flavorful as the sliced brisket. I am so happy I ordered the sliced brisket sandwich as it was the standout of all the food. Smoky and lean and tasty. Didn’t even need it on the bread. And also didn’t even really need the barbecue sauce. Some things are kind of pricey too. But barbecue tends to be on the higher priced side. This place is very casual and close to the airport.

Local spot, really friendly staff, great food. We were on an over night layover in Houston from CA and asked the staff at the Marriott in the airport for a good BBQ spot near by and they pointed us to Mo’s. Couldn’t have been happier– we had the brisket, ribs and bbq chicken, macaroni salad, potato salad, corn on the cob and loaded spuds. Gosh! So much food and it was all great. I Recommend eating in instead of take away so you can load up on Fixin’s and enjoy the authentic«Texas» vibe of the place. Its about ten minutes from the airport($ 10 Über ride) from the airport so if you’re on an extended layover, pop over for some real TXBBQ

This place has really good bbq! I would suggest the MO spud. Loaded baked potato with chopped beef. If you are hungry add some sausage. Really good tender brisket and tasty sausage. Very good sauce(warm). I’m real picky with bbq but this place delivered! Good texas bbq!

The first thing I noticed about this place was the extremely rude waitstaff, the younger woman with the dark hair didn’t greet us when we walked in and snappily took our order. This was my first time eating here so I wasn’t exactly sure as to how the ordering process worked. She didn’t smile at all and had no personality. When we told her what we wanted and she asked us which 2 sides we would like we asked her what the choices were and she just pointed at the bottom of the menu. So we just looked at each other and gave her our order, paid and went to sit down. When the food arrived my sliced beef was cold as well as my coworkers dirty rice. He sent his dirty rice back, I just decided to pour some of the hot BBQ sauce on mine hoping it wouldn’t taste too bad. The only employee there who was nice at all was the slender blonde haired woman who brought our food out. Just overall not a good experience, mediocre food, won’t be returning.

Well found me a new BBQ spot(when the others aren’t open hehe). The chopped beef baked potato was pretty good, just not that hot :(They were trying to get us to buy the wings… but we wanted BBQ so that was weird.

This is probably the worst BBQ I’ve ever had. I’m ashamed that this place is in Texas, it gives us a bad name. We ordered chicken, brisket(sliced beef), ham, & ribs. First of all, the main thing about this BBQ is it is incredibly bland. No smokiness, no seasoning, just blah. The sauce does little to improve it. I thought it was awful. Perhaps it’s just not my style… It had a hint of a sweet flavor but otherwise was very bland. Kind of reminded me of thick ketchup. The food almost tasted boiled or oven cooked. The ribs were at least pretty tender as was the chicken, but anyone can throw meat in foil with liquid and cook it to make it tender. That’s not BBQ. Would never in a million years eat this again.

Dropped in here for lunch last week and tried the Mo’s Spud! Delicious! The décor and setting is typical Texas and the food looks awesome! Will be popping by here again to try out the rest of their food and their desserts. Portions are a little smaller than some other places, but it was fine for me. One thing I liked not related to the food was how they sponsor a lot of local schools and sports team. Their walls are filled with thank you’s, pictures and news articles from little league baseball teams, soccer teams and other local efforts.

We went here after work for the first time. We should have gone home. We both got the half rack rib plate which was expensive. The ribs tasted boiled, not smoked. We had baked beans and potato salad which were ok. Our total was over $ 30. Needless to say, we will not be returning.

Stopped by this place on our way home, because I’d been dying to try it out. The restaurant was nicely laid out and very roomy. The staff was waiting for you at the counter as we walked in and they were very, very friendly and welcoming. I ordered sliced beef and sausage, with dirty rice and baked beans. They told us that they would bring it out to us when it was ready. There is a cooling table for the fixings(i.e.- onions, pickles, peppers, etc.). We got our order in no time and the food was great, as well as a nice tasting bar-b-q sauce!

I had been wanting to checkout this place for a long time and finally went with a friend. Although I love Barbeque, I don’t often indulge for health reasons but wanted to take a diet break. I was a bit surprised as the restaurant was more like a High School cafeteria and the people serving were a bit impolite to us. I was embarrassed as I had recommended this place my friend. He remarked that the portions were also a bit small. They do seem to always have quite a few cars during mealtime hours but this was just my experience. I would not recommend this place unless someone was in a pinch.

6÷19÷1312:28pm — Its Juneteenth and that means BBQ is on the menu. I was near the humble area for a meeting so I scoped out this place on Unilocal. I scored Mo’s a 77 out of 100. This is Regional Texas BBQ. Smoke: ??? who knows. No visible stacks, no listing on menu or website. Suspicious. The smokers are on the side. I could not make out the manufacture. They had the suspicious exhaust vents. Hidden from view inside. I am guessing these are gassers. Evidence leans to gas fired rotisserie. Brisket: Good. They got the tenderness right but most gassers do. Little smoke, no rub just beef flavor. You don’t have to drive out to humble to get this slice of roast beef. Use the sauce. Ribs: Fair. They got the tenderness right but that is all. Remember when your mom used to make meatloaf and she spread ketchup over the top and came out of the oven a dry paste goop? Well they do the same with their ribs with the sauce. Ribs are finished«wet» with their sauce reduced to a paste goop. If they tasted great I would have scored them higher. Skip all together. Sausage: Very Good. They one thing they purchase is the best thing on the plate. A great German sausage with bold traditional spice and nice after taste. Snappy casing. No sauce needed. I totally support BBQ joints buying Texas made sausage. I also support they proudly advertise where its made. Its good for Texas. Sauce: Good. A dark ketchup thick sweet and smokey sauce in the Kansas City style.
