Dickey’s Barbecue Pit

If you have taste buds that excite with the mention of food then you wont complain. If you know delicious well cooked BBQ from mediocre then you’ll be disappointed. Don’t ever get the ribs. Super pricey and hard. Not appetizing. My husband isn’t the picky one and he barely touched his sides. I will give credit where credit is due. Chopped pork was pretty good. And the two stars are for the service. He was awesome. I wont come back to dickeys. Sorry. I’m thankful for food but this is a review app.

I don’t know why people complain. Every time I come here, I’ve never had a problem. I guess people love to complain more. Food is always hot and taste fresh. People are always nice. There is this one guy that I love, I can’t remember his name but he is awesome. I love the fried okra and the new creamy spinach. Dickey’s is one of the best

Chris and his crew are amazing!!! We love watching him chop and slice all the meats, SO professional and courteous! The food is yummy and store is clean! Kids eat free on Sundays as along as you buy a meal.

Dickeys just plain sucks. I had the chopped beef sandwich. I don’t know where they got their meat but it sucks and it’s flavorless. The sides sucked, bbq baked beans tastes like it can from a can. Potato salad tasted the same as the beans. Even the potato chips were over salty. The ice tea was trash. Never coming back. They don’t nothing about barbecue.

This is the worst place ever. The food was cold. There are two people working. None of the drinks were fresh and the machine was out. Oh and the sweet tea was not sweet. The staff was not very friendly either. Will not be coming back here.

Dickeys bar b que was delicious there brisket was tender and did not have a bunch of excess grease on it. I tried there spicy sausage which is a new item on the menu, and it is a good hint of spice along with a good taste. They have plenty of sides to choose from potato casserole, baked beans, spicy beans, Mac n cheese, and many more. The ambient was a relaxed very clean restaurant. The guys that worked there in the evening are an incredible duel! They are full of life and really made a good impression for dickeys bbq. To wrap things up, I would recommend the place any time for a quick bite or late dinner, you will enjoy it.

Ok, so this was not the best but it was bb which is hard to really mess up–
The food was cold and bland, but it was slow cooked and tender.

Went here today for lunch. I have been to this location several times and each time is always a great experience. I love the daily specials they have, just enough to fill you up during lunch time and not overload on the food.
The staff is always amazing and friendly.

This barbeque didn’t look good nor fine, it just blew my mind that I drove out of the way to get a barbeque sandwich that didn’t even taste like barbeque!
First of all, the pork was flavlorless and dry. I expected onions to at least be on the sandwich. At least ask me if I wanted them.. .why not ask me if I wanted anything besides a dull bun with some dry pork slammed on it? i received not pickles, barbeque sauce – NOTHING! I guess they knew that the condiments wouldn’t camflouage the lack of flavor. No need to waste meat, bread, and condiments! This sandwich would have did better as a hockey puck.
As I have said many times before, if you can’t smell the smoke, then you will not find barbeque at that place. And at Dickey’s you will not find barbeque there either!

Ok, my first time here. The place is nice with soft music playing. CNN on the tube. Good smells in the air. Soda machine with Coke products, which I like. The menu is varied. Many choices of sides I normally do not see in BBQ joints. Decided on the 2 meat platter. It comes W/​2 sides and a roll which I did not get. No explanation given, none asked. I should not have to ask as it is posted on the. large menu above. the area where you order. Apparently not in the employee manual. Back to the meal. 2 meats (ribs and pulled pork) 2 sides CREAMY? coleslaw, should be NOT creamy slaw. It was still good and the cabagge crunchy and. ingredients tasted fresh. The Baked beans? Well, I’ve had much better coming from a can. Maybe they should consider that option. Did not taste like anything. Just lke the pulled pork. No flavor tasted as if had been washed prior to serving. Had to dump the beans on the pork to taste somenthing. Ribs. Well, when I got my basket I see what appears to be two lumps of somenthing covered in BBQ. The ends. When I order ribs I expect at least to gnaw on a bone. Asked to replace it and I still got one end an a micro rib… see picture posted here. The meat was not tough, the flavor was ok. The whole experience? Should have just asked for a coke and watched some CNN and eaten somewhere else. Will return if I must. Then again I always give a second chance. I’ll skip the pulled pork and hopefully get a roll.

I love to get the chopped beef sandwich and the wedge fries… Everything about the dickey’s chain screams cost control. I feel small portions and large prices. If they either made the portions bigger and the prices smaller I would be all for visiting more frequently. I do understand businesses need to make money, but at the same time figure out the supply/​demand curve, basic statistics!
I’ve had staff at dickey’s tell me to not get used to the amount of fries I got this time because they were experimenting with portions… Saying next time I may get less and not feel gyped.
They have free ice cream but it isn’t that great. Be nice to have chocolate sauce to put on top. Furthermore the sweet tea isn’t a special recipe, it says right on the sign it is community foodservice tea. You’re not fooling me. Call a spade a spade.
Also this location was unable to have ESPN because it «cost too much» to purchase ESPN from Satellite because it was a restaurant. I love to catchup on sports center at lunch! I find that unacceptable, I don’t want to watch depressing 24 hour news.
Overall, the food is good, just small portions. I am satisfied with the place though.

So disappointing. The portions were Crap! And the quality was worse. Ribs were dry and they gave us tiny slices of dry chicken. No rolls or sauce provided with the to go order. So try the BBQ down the street. I’m sure the food is much better!

This is my second visit to dickey’s and I’m even less impressed than the first time. Not only did they try to pass off a burnt, super fatty mess as sliced brisket, the person there had the audacity to tell me that I should ask for a lean cut next time.
No, it’s not about that, I ordered sliced beef, not a pile of crap which is what they gave me. It wouldn’t even pass off as chopped beef. Give me what I ordered and don’t insult me. I want to say this person was a manager (she was dressed like one I’d day). She gave me 3 extra slices of, what do you know, sliced brisket like I had ordered, and THOSE 3 slices where not bad at all, not dry like last time and overall pretty good. If that’s what I would have received from the get go like I had ordered then they wouldn’t be getting 3 stars.
Green beans with bacon: They tasted terrible, edible but terrible.
BBQ beans: I actually got them hot this time, they taste very good, not bad overall.
Wedge cut fries: Awesome, probably my favorite thing about this place.
BBQ Sauces: I like them, a little on the watery side but I like the taste.
The bread is delicious, the ice and tea is very good.
Even after 2 sub par visits, I’m going to give them another shot, even though the meat portion is smaller and a meal more expensive than what I can get at a BBQ joint closer to my home (which is consistently very good).

YUM! The hot & spicy BBQ sauce is soooo good and is exactly that! YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!
Great lunch specials. I like the BBQ Brisket Sandwich. Jalepeno beans are pretty tasty too. Mix a little BBQ sauce in the beans, it’ll make it taste even better!

Decent BBQ. A step up from the big chains for sure. Still not the amazing BBQ that I’m craving and cant’ find in the Humble area. DO I have to drive to Austin to get decent beef ribs???
The chopped beef sandwich was servicable and the sides were very good. I particularly like the mac-​n-​cheese and I could get really fat off the baked potato casserole –oops.too late I guess.
I’ll certainly go back.

While in town for a weekend I stopped here for lunch, purely by luck. I walked a descent distance from my hotel in pursuit of food and this shopping plaza was the first place I came to containing restaurants. There were three options and from the offerings I chose Dickey’s.
I ordered the Texas Style Chopped Beef Brisket with two sides (baked beans and cole slaw). I had a drink in their large Yellow cups (and it had small crushed ice like I like). The staff was friendly, the service was quick, and the food was excellent. They had multiple sauces to choose from — I went with the Dickey’s original — and you can top your meal off with a free soft-​serve ice cream cone from the machine. A nice taste of Texas on a bun (or open-​faced sandwich in the case of my meal). Next time I am in town I will definitely look this place up again.

Ok, I don’t throw around 5 stars for nothing. But, in it’s class, this Dickey’s gets 5 stars!
The two guys that were working were fantastic. They exceeded expectations in every way. I was greeted with a smile and ‘welcome to Dickey’s’ when I entered. The pulled pork sandwich was recommended, which I ordered, and it was great. The preparation area was clean. The service was quick. The bathroom was very clean. The restaurant overall was spotless.
After I ordered, got my drink and sat down to eat, both employees kept busy, cleaning and getting ready for the dinner hour, made small talk and made me feel like a welcome and valued customer.
If this were my establishment, I would be really pleased to have it being run by conscientious employees such as these two!!!
The bar has been set pretty high! I hope the other Dickey’s locations perform as well, as I for sure will be a customer. And for sure will stop into this location when I am in the area and hungry for some barbecue!!!

Food tasted great (loved all 3 sauces), just a little on the pricey side for the portion! They weigh the meat & the girl was apparently over by a bite and she cut it off!!!
Will return, but hopefully with a coupon in hand!
