I’m not surprised they closed. I’m surprised it took this long, though! Worst, rudest service I have ever experienced.

Dear Unilocal: This great restaurant is CLOSED! We loved it and will miss going there for special occasions. Hoping that the chef is on to bigger and better things, and will do something else nearby.

Truly a metrowest gem! Live jazz, fresh, experimental food(lobster mac w butternut squash) & drinks(blood orange martini). Great atmosphere — lucky to live down the street a great place to take friends & feel cool ;-)

Ate there this past Friday night and what a gem. The food was awesome. I had steak frites and Susan had salmon. Delicious! But, they close permanently this Thursday, July 3rd. New owner, new concept-spots bar. Another one! So sad that we just found them.

I’ve waited five months to write this review because I wanted to cool off after the terrible service we had in November. The problem was that I was served the wrong beer. The waitress acknowledged the problem, apologized, ran back to the bar to check with the bartender and told me that the bartender had made a substitution without telling her. Ok, not a big deal. I told her what to bring instead and she assured me she’d be right back. Some time goes by with no replacement, and then the waitress brings the food. What about the beer? Oh yes, she’ll be right back. Time goes by, my food is now cold and there’s no beer. So I went to the bar and the lady behind the bar ignores me. I speak up and ask for my beer. Can’t I see that she’s busy? Really? There are two people at the bar and the restaurant is one third empty. I tell her that I was served the wrong beer, my meal is now cold and I’d appreciate it if she’d pour a beer for me. She tells me that she asked the waitress if it was okay to make the substitution. Now either the bartender lied about checking with the waitress, or the waitress lied about not being told about the substitution. Either way I’m being lied to. I bring the beer back to my cold plate of food, and halfway through the meal the waitress brings my beer, clearly not realizing that her inability to correctly serve even the most basic of items made it necessary to take matters into my own hands. Sorry, never going back. Same dog don’t bite me twice.

Service — 1 star Food — 4 stars Went early on a Friday night and were greeted by the friendly hostess who seated us fast. This is probably the 9th or 10th time we have eaten here. It is only ten minutes frrom home so we keep trying it to see if it has gotten better, but this might be the last time. Each time it falls short on the food and/or the service. Service: crappy. Ours was not friendly and seemed pretty clueless about the«service» part of food service. Repeatedly we were left waiting with dirty dishes or empty glasses. Neither water was refilled at any point, or additional drinks offered, even though all our glasses were drained. Did not seem to really care about us. The friendliest she got was when she delivered the bill.(Older woman with greying blonde hair & glasses.) Drinks: blah. Neither of us were interested in the mixed drinks, although they looked interesting. They were out of the reisling(the only sweet wine on the wine list) even though everything should have been stocked up for the weekend. My tea turned out to be very old and stale, and there is something funky with the hot water — a coffee taste? And the hubby’s coffee with dessert was terrible as well so maybe they aren’t cleaning out the pots or something… The waitress saw the full cups of coffee & tea that we did not drink but never asked if everything was ok. Food: decent. Reasonable portion sizes, tasty, cooked & flavored well. Timing getting courses out was ok. Price: honesty, overpriced. If the service were better I wouldn’t mind as much(and I suspect we just had the bad waitress) but otherwise this meal just wasn’t worth it. I’d rather drive into Worcester or Boston for great food & service if I’m going to be over $ 100 for two people.

Awesome as usual. This us our absolute favorite romantic night out. We went there for Valentines dinner and the food and service were superb. The recommended wine was right on the money. We usually have desert in bar when there is live jazz(usually a trio). Best if all No Kids. Not that they aren’t welcome but I think the clientele have all agreed to keep this as a mostly kid free zone.

Fall menu was great the other day. Nothing super-inventive but certainly meals that were well put together. Had a few good options for the vegetarians in our group too

The food was good per normal, but the waitress was a PITA. She generally had a bad attitude ans frankly seemed as if we were there to serve her! She wouldn’t out plates on the table(table of 4) across the table, but insisted on handing the plates to us for us to place. Then she made a fuss about changing utensils between courses, as we left the utensils on the plates to be changed. Finally, she poured our wine in these tiny glasses that probably held 2 oz(and made it impossible to aeroate). Anyway, good food, good music, but the waitress killed the experience. I’ve been here a half dozen times, and this may wind up being the last. Enough already, she was a comedy of bad attitude.

Giving three stars for a couple of reasons:(actually 3.5 would be more accurate) The menu choices for a July evening were more geared towards fall/winter dinning for the most part. The spring risotto and the duck salad where the exceptions. Look at the menu before hand and make sure you are in the mood for it. It has been one complaint of this place for years is that it would be nice to have a seasonal menu. I did go for the spring risotto which would have been really good but they were heavy handed on the«drizzle» of truffle oil and it overpowered the dish. I ate half of it and that was all I could handle of the flavor. It was to bad they ruined a good dish. Also ordered the dinner special which was braised pork shank which had good flavor and the polenta the came with it was done well and very yummy. The escargot appetizer was delicious so it started off right but ended wrong with way to much truffle oil. This is our typical experience is that one dish is really good and the other is average. For the price I want both to be really good. Waitstaff has improved 100+% to previous years. I think next time we are going on Thursday fir the bar special of a burger + beer for $ 10 or try their new café down the street.

Nights out with my wife are rare. More rare is a night out with our friends, all together at a restaurant. I was skeptical when my wife suggested Chloe based on a recommendation of an acquaintance we know through the kid’s swim team. I was more skeptical when we walked up to the front door and ducked the dripping water emanating from the air conditioner sitting over the door. Hmmm. Skepticism about the exterior waterfall was quickly allayed once we sat down and had a few drinks. Looking over the menu was a good start. The broad spectrum of choices made it a challenge for almost everyone to pick just one entrée. I went with seafood, but was impressed to see a note in the meat section that called out with pride that all beef product was from a Portlandia-style animal farm. The service we good — cheerful and prompt. Drinks arrived quickly, as did the cheese and Mediterranean slates. I had the salmon with cheese stuff artichokes, my wife had the cod wrapped in proscuttio(Italian bacon). Others at the table had the lamb, short ribs, etc. The live jazz music wafting in from the bar only added to the pleasant environment. While there were miscellaneous gripes(my drink isn’t cold enough, we need more bread, etc.) there was serious competition for the clean plate prize. Everyone enjoyed their meal and everyone said they would come back again. We tipped generously(20%) and went back to a friends house for a little more quiet time before fetching the kids from the baby sitter. I certainly did enjoy the meal, the atmosphere, and the company. I look forward to going back soon.

Great waitress, very good food, strong martinis, slightly awkward hostess, but in all it was a good time and we will go back.

I’m not a 5 star kind of guy, handing out the raves all over the place. I save ‘em for the places that really make me sit up and take notice. That was Chloe’s tonight for dinner. Wow. Nearly everything was superb. This was our first trip here, and the waitress in T shirt was a little off-putting. But she soon won me over with her warm and friendly style. We had the 5 spice chicken, the Alsatian pizza, and the baramundi filet. All were tremendously good. The crab cake and the fried goat cheese were less inspired. For dessert, the chocolate crêpe and the bread pudding with caramel sauce really shone. We are definitely going to be returning!!!

Food is usually good. Tonight waited 10 minutes for bowl of bisque. And it was watery. Not the best.

Good, not great. Came here with family after apple picking nearby. The booths were a little bit uncomfortable and those of us on the inside kept hitting our arms against the wall. The décor is sort of half cool/funky and half Pier1. I don’t go out much around here but I imagine that the restaurant is at least good for the downtown area and adds some life. If you’re looking for a place for dinner after picking apples in Stow, I’d probably keep this on a short list of recommendations but I’m not in a hurry to get back myself. One of the drinks was quite good, a seasonal pumpkin flavored creamy dessert drink. The rest of the drink menu was pretty standard/boring/sweet. Overall, everything was good not great. If it was a bit less uncomfortable I might go up to 4 stars but for now I’d say 3, 3.5 is a pretty good average.

We recently returned to Chloe’s for the live jazz. Although the bar area wasn’t crowed the service was awful. We waited at the end of the bar for about 10 minutes and no one even said hello. We thought maybe because we were standing it confused the bartender. We moved to the other end of the bar and had a seat. It was still several minutes before a waitress acknowledged us and promised up the bartender would return soon. It was uncomfortable as the waitress made drinks for someone else and we just sat there. It was almost 20 minutes since our arrival before we were served drinks. The jazz music was the best part. It’s what keeps us coming back.

Wow I cant believe I waited this long to eat here! I feel like a moron for always driving past this unassuming«bigger then it looks from the outside» restaurant on a rotary. They do a ton of specials that we’ll be back to try, we were here on a Friday, and Thursday & Fridays are $ 5 apps!!! We had: Fried Goat Cheese, Cranberry-Orange Compote Mesclun Salad, Candied Nuts, Apple, Vermont Cheddar, Apple Cider Vinaigrette The two chicken drumsticks & Pizza with Caramelized Onions, lardons & fromage blanc Its was insanely good. The ingredients were fresh and the flavors were bold and bright. The dishes were well though out, after so many disappointing bistro experiences this was a home run. Great selection of beers on tap, and a great staff serving them. They were really nice about the fact that when we read about the specials after we were seated, and we asked to be reseated at the bar, ooops sorry. Rarely do I eat at a place and then go to their website and get on the email list, it was that good. The $ 10 burger and a beer deal with be this weeks adventure to Cole’ my new regular spot. Expect a Dukedom, just sayn’

Manfriend and I decided to have a date night at Chloe this past weekend. Neither of us had ever been despite it’s closeness in proximity. We made reservations and despite that, we still waited to be seated AND seemed to have the worst seat in the restaurant(hostess seemed a little frazzled). That aside, our waitress was lovely, if not extremely busy with other tables. The food was really yummy but manfriend and I thought it was a TAD overpriced for the serving sizes. The service could have been quicker but thankfully we weren’t in too much of a hurry. The crowd skewed a lot older than us(we are in our mid 20s) so we don’t know that this is going to be our«go-to» place. But it was OK.
