There’s nothing better than street tacos after a night out. It’s my ultimate drunk food. I’d never seen this truck before, but it was the only option across Kung Fu Saloon on Washington, so we gave it a shot. Two signs of authenticity: 1. Cheap; tacos were $ 2 each 2. Cash only; ASIF they’re giving up a % of your $ 2 credit card transaction The barbacoa really hit the spot. Watch yourself with that spicy green sauce! My best friend shared her Al Pastor tacos, forgetting to inform me that she doused them in green sauce. I DIED. Tears were rolling down my face because I was in excruciating pain. It’s the single spiciest thing I’ve ever eaten in my life, no lie. Water doesn’t help. I think it’s maybe not that spicy in moderation, but I got a mouthful. At least my friends got a good laugh out of it. It’ll take me a while to get over the trauma.

Really awesome food truck on Washington Ave, right across from Kung Fu. I got the barbacoa quesadillas, which were delicious! They’re pretty popular, so be prepared to wait — plus, when I went, there was only one lady there that spoke English. Totally worth it though!

«Mexican food… MMMM!!!» My friends found this place as we stumbled out of Kung Fu. Was too ratchet too remember much of it but I remember the Quesadillas being really tasty. I put too much green and red sauce on it and my mouth was on fire! It was fast, it was good, and I was satisfied.

This place is truly disgusting. This may be the first one star review I have ever given. $ 2 tacos with almost no meat, a store bought tortilla and yellow cheese??? Come on. This for sure goes after a drunk gringo market. Not authentic, not good, and not worth even a fourth of what they charge. I was actually angry after eating here. I felt that I had been taken advantage of. I hope somebody buys this truck and actually sells food out of it.

I had tacos from Taqueria Maya Quiche for the first time on Sunday at Little Woodrow’s. The chicken tacos really hit the spot after a long, hot afternoon at the Dynamo game. My two tacos were filling and the ingredients tasted fresh. I will definitely keep my eye out for this truck in the future so I can sample other items on the menu!

The beef tongue tacos here are AMAZING. AMAZINGGGGG. The fajitas they use are nice and soft as well. Their green hot sauce definitely is spicy which I love.

This trucks is one of our faorite things about drinking on Washington. It’s always there just when you need it. But it’s not just the convenience that makes us crave these tacos. It’s the perfectly marinated and seasoned meats. Barbacoa and the Pastor is incredible! Cheers to you!

If you’ve been here sober, MAJOR kudos to you. For serious. Make a beeline here before the bars close before all the other wobbly pastrons satisfy their munchies. The truck is located right outside The Lot. Things I love? The barbacoa beef is pretty tasty and tender as well as tacos al pastor, topped off in typical street taco fashion with white onions and cilantro. If you’re really hungry, opt for the torta. It’s too much for me to finish, so I usually share that with someone. Top it off with their house green sauce and you’re golden. Be warned that the sauce has quite a kick. The have other items on the menu, including hamburgers and hot dogs, but it’s a taco truck and I wanna stick to as advertised, damn it.

Down-home authentic taco truck parked outside of The Lot. And thus as you would expect, perfect for late-night munchies. Especially at 2am. Tacos are pretty authentic(minus the cheese), although the quesadillas are more tex-mex style than real Mexican. For those of you lactose intolerant, be warned. Cheese explosion. Ensued by another type of explosion if you know what I mean(ho ho ho).

Taco taco! What better than to be strategically placed right outside The Lot on Washington. I come out of a bar and what’s the first thing I think about? «I’m hungry.» I look around at my options and BAM, this taco truck is in my direct sight and I bee-line right over to it. The guys who work here are really friendly. I love getting the tacos here, especially the barbacoa one. Can’t go wrong with that! The other day my friend got the nachos. That was awesome too! I’m not a big spicy eater but their green sauce is good! Even though a few dabs of it set my mouth on fire, all the flavors dancing around on my tongue make it feel like heaven. :) It’s easy to ask for to-go, but I can tell you half of the food will be eaten before you even get home because it smells soooo good.

Ok how can I put this? BESTTACOSINTHEWORLD!!! I can’t stress this enough… I’ve traveled all over Texas and Mexico for some good ol traditional Mexican soft tacos. Guys… you just can’t beat this taco truck. $ 2/taco, definitely get the barbacoa(beef). It melts in your mouth with a juicy and tasty flavor. Don’t forget to add their special Green house sauce. Ultra spicy and perfect for the late night snack. Every single person I’ve taken to this taco truck have loved it more than any other taco place. I often crave this but unfortunately they’re typically open from 7pm to 3am. Go here, you won’t be disappointed. It’s right in front of the Lot and across from The Drinkery.

Love the pastor and carne asada tacos. The salsa is sooo hot but sooo good! They fed us even when they were pretty much closed which was very nice!

If you want a good taco, forget the new wave taco trucks. Taqueria Maya Quiche, aka taco truck outside The Lot, is delicious. I have only eaten there after several drinks, so I will not permit myself to give them five stars until after i try it sober(which may never happen). Everything they have is awesome, esp when drenched in that green sauce. When I am drinking, I’d rather have an awesome barbacoa taco than some crappy fusion taco that is trying to be innovative.

The best traditional tacos… perhaps in all of Houston. TMQ doesn’t try to be new or innovative. What they are is a taco truck, and they do it better than any other I know of. It is so easy to have a steam table with piles of rubbery beef, TMQ’s fajita beef is tender with a nice sear and big beefy flavor that stands out in the taco. The other meats are excellent as well. They even have some more indigenous meats such as beef tongue that is yummy to my palate, but I can understand how some may not appreciate the texture.

Thissan;d gso si ago daklj; Omg ksat the abraowcao is aod sfmazing it tastes go dookj i cants topakdls but o eay more aby more each;lk timea’ the greeenk sauceeea is where its aztts. the lasy yime i had one aklyj of each yayoc it was z to good. EDIT: This is the best drunk food stand. It’s located in the same lot as THELOT, the tacos are cheap 2 bucks a taco, decent sized, and filled with meat. My fav is the barbacoa, but I have had all of the flavors, in one drunken sitting. The service is fast and they know how to put up with drunks. The green spicy sauce is where it’s at. Don’t try to write a review while you’re drunk.

I started my birthday celebration a day early with a happy hour mini pub crawl of sort with coworkers. I suggested the convenience that is Washington Ave, blocks from my house, bars and pubs close proximity to each other, and taco trucks. By no means was this a late night. It was a school night and I had some parental responsibilities to tend to at home, but I was excited to end it at Taqueria Maya Quiche. Maya Quiche is only open in the evening, for the late night shenanigans on Washington and because I was hanging out early evening I decided to partake. Taqueria Maya Quiche is probably the nicest taco truck on Washington. I was disappointed when I noticed stacks of prepackaged tortillas sitting in the window. I know many of these guys use them, just a little disappointed to see them so prominently displayed. I hate to be predictable, but I like to stay as consistent as possible when rating tacos, but I went with my standard 3 tacos, fajita, barbacoa, and al pastor all finished off with cilantro and white onion. My favorite of the three had to be the barbacoa, and running a close second was the al pastor. The barbacoa might have been a bit fatty and greasy for lunch, but it hit the spot after a few beers and tequila shots. The al pastor still had some very good flavor from the chili marinade. The fajita was OK, I think it got lost in the flavor profiles of the barbacoa and al pastor, the textures and the aromas were just to much for the fajita to contend with. I really liked the tacos and if I’m doing a late night on Washington, I can see myself stumbling to the window and ordering a few tacos to sober me up for the walk home. Remember Maya Quiche is only open in the evening and they will be a bit more expensive than any other taco truck in the area, but then again they are probably the only ones open that late.

The luminescent perfection of a taco truck in the night is unrivaled when the pangs of hunger strike. Pressed for somewhere to eat at three AM on a Wednesday night, this magical taco truck had been beckoning me in the distance all evening long from Reign Lounge. We were a little taken aback when approaching the truck. «It’s like nice,» were my exact words. Yes – a nice looking truck indeed. They have more than just tacos too. Hamburgers, hot dogs, tortas. .. and that’s about all I could focus on. Tacos. I need tacos! I went with a barbacoa and a pastor – cilantra y cebolla of course! The pastor is decent here, but is missing a little punch for my taste. It’s like it needs to marinate a little more, at least on this Wednesday night. I can’t say that the barbacoa is the best in the city, but it’s definitely a contender. This tasty delight had some of my mates testifying. With greasy, fatty late night goodness like the one Quiché dishes out – who wouldn’t? Definitely one of my new spots! I’m sure I’ll be back and back and back again.
