Quantity was not nearly enough for $ 12. If it was, say, really great in taste and the quality of the pork belly was better then we wouldn’t complain. It was 3 cuts of pork belly, but really small. Taste of ramen was bland, and broth felt water’d down. I’d honestly had better instant ramen. It just felt they were really shay-stea with their food. The bowl can literally be finished within 4 bites. Service was good though, and the restaurant itself was very nice, clean, and inviting. Cool artwork. Also opens late. Wouldn’t come here again though.

Excuse my drool as I type this… I underestimated ramen until I met Ninja. And the combination of being able to get drunk and enjoy this awesomeness in a bowl is pure magic. My go-to is the original ramen with extra egg, extra bamboo. Get it on a cold Saturday night after going out with some friends(they serve food till 3 am!!) to finish off your party on a high note.

This is one of the better ramen places in Houston. It’s a hidden gem located inside a bar which can be somewhat hard to find. Parking is limited to the streets and across from the bar, there is also a small gated parking lot for customers to park. The price is a bit pricey for the portion that you get, but the ramen tastes great. The broth’s consistency is milky and has a rich, flavorful taste to it. What’s awesome is that they’re open till 2 am; therefore, you can definitely come here for a late midnight meal.

A really good ramen place in Houston! It’s a smaller establishment that has a select menu, but they are masters at it! I also had the Gin Sidecar, that was pretty amazing as well. Only thing is, be careful of where you park… It may have just been my lack of looking, but there’s no parking unless you have a permit everywhere around there. O_o

I wanted to love this place — I really did but it just wasn’t that great. Service was slow, food was overpriced($ 12 + for ramen — yikes) and the food was just so bland. It didn’t taste like much at all. I definitely wouldn’t come back — nothing about this place left a positive lasting impression on me.

Pros– Loved the atmosphere and I appreciated the ninja turtles and pink power ranger on the drink menu. My ramen was good, and my friend got the creamy version which gave me food envy. The bartender was quite friendly when we came in. Cons– I ordered a Raphael(which she confirmed) and had to ask if it was still coming 30 minutes later after our food was brought out. The waitress just said«yeah» and walked away with no apology or explanation for the wait. She immediately came back with a drink that I’m 99% sure was not gin, but I just accepted it because I didn’t want to be finished with my food by the time I got a drink. I expected better service from a small place with only a few other customers in it. I also thought $ 12 for a bowl of ramen was a little overpriced, but it was at least a big bowl. I would come back here, but I hope there’s different waitstaff next time.

Eh this place was whatever. Service was so so friendly and attentive, but there was only like 3 customers at 2am on a Saturday night. One Bowl of ramen for $ 12+? Pretty insane. Pork belly was good and meaty and the egg was good, but what I really did not like was the broth: completely mediocre and had no depth. They do however give you one round of free noodles if you have leftover broth. This place is great for late night, but for sober ramen I’d rather go somewhere else.

I love the simplicity of the ramen here! And open til 2am?! Even better! I went out for Sunday Funday with some friends and was in desperate need of something soupy and filling before my drive home. Most ramen and phở places are closed on a Sunday at midnight, but miraculously ninja ramen was still open! Ninja ramen is basically a little dimly lit bar… That serves ramen. The area it’s in is dark at night and seems a little shady. Parking is basically curb side and a bit difficult to find, unless there was a parking lot I totally missed. I was a bit confused walking in because I didn’t know it was a bar(yeah it’s a bar!!), so don’t let this throw you off either. Just take a seat at the bar, or the tables to the left, and someone will ask you if you want a drink or if you’re here for ramen. I ordered their most basic original ramen. I was really skeptical of the ramen because of the dim bar environment, but when they brought it out I was pleasantly surprised! Their ramen wasn’t super complicated with tons of extra stuff like at fancier ramen restaurants… It was simple and clean, incredibly delicious. Ramen, meat, seaweed, half an egg with that yummy gel-yolk inside, and my favoriiiteee part: *drum rollll*… bamboo slices!!! I don’t think I’ve seen this in ramen before… Pretty unique! But I love that their broth isn’t super salty like at other ramen places where you get full after only 3 bites of extra rich broth. It’s got a very«home made» taste to it. Bartender and service was awesome too btw. Bartender was friendly, but not too in your face, so I was able to drunkenly enjoy my ramen in peace. Two thumbs up. Will definitely be returning. Maybe I’ll discover that parking lot next time if it exists. — — — — — — - EDIT: I FINALLYFOUNDITTHEPARKINGLOTEXISTS!!! It’s on the corner diagonal from ninja ramen, with a big sign that says«ninja ramen parking». I believe they said it’s free for sure Sunday nights, and only costs a couple dollars to park on certain nights like Friday and Saturday.

Still the best ramen I’ve ever tasted in houston hands down! Because of the long wait tonight they hooked it up with extra eggs and chasu. The servers always so attentive and nice, I’m stuffed && one happy camper! This place still beats jinya & tiger den any day.

This place is great. Love the fact that it is open late; was a perfect«after hours» spot for me and the hubby. We both had the spicy miso. The broth was flavorful, the noodles were perfectly cooked, and the pork belly was delish. Two complaints, some of my pork belly was tough as if it was overcooked and the smaller than what I’m used to bowl of spicy miso came in at $ 12.50, which I thought was a little steep. All and all, I’d return if looking for a late night ramen fix. 3.75

Came here during our ramen craving phase; we wanted to see what all Houston has to offer before sticking with our pick. The restaurant is cute; austin-like concept. Staff are friendly and good selection of music. Ramen itself wasn’t as superb as I expected. I hate that it costs extra to add on things that other ramen place considers«essential» to ramen, like bamboo shoots or eggs. I didn’t care for the texture of the noodles. With all the competition for best ramen in Houston, sadly this place won’t be considered for my favorite ramen place in Houston

I’ve been to this place twice. Once was waaaaay late night, and I was fairly bombed so truth be told you could have put a cup O Ramen in front of me, and I would’ve inhaled it. The second time I was smart enough to eat prior to cocktail time. The place is small, it’s not anything fancy, and it reminds me of a dive bar. Only this dive bar has really good Ramen, and a surly chef, which I like. oh, and their sake selection is on point. When we went the second time we had the pork Ramen, which was very very good. The broth is RE-DIC-ULOUS. I could’ve just swam in it. Server/Bartender was sharp, witty, and helpful. Solid Ramen, decent prices, and open late. Win. Win. Win.

My family and I came here by mistake. They had gotten the name of the ramen place incorrect but we still stayed. This place should just be known for their bar instead of their ramen. We had ordered the spam musubi and it was cold. I make it better at home then this place. As for the ramen, the broth was tasteless and the ramen noodles were undercoocked. It was five of us, we had water, 3 orders of Spam Musubi, and 5 bowls of Ramen which our total came out to $ 88 dollars without tip. Wow! Expensive meal that was just bleh. Yeah, I would never come here again. I feel bad for this place. We were the only one there minus the people at the bar.

This place is mostly a BAR! I did not know they only had TWO items on the menu… Ramen soup or ramen w cream sauce. The flavor was good but the place was super sketchy. The cook sits and socializes, probably takes a few shots of alcohol until he is needed in the kitchen??? I’m not sure but I was worried if he washes his hands or not. Overall it was a great experience, different atmosphere, the cook howls and makes animated noises while cooking and calls his waitress Microsoft. They have a fun working environment.

Simple concept — choose your ramen broth, any extras for the toppings, and you’re done. They have a spam sushi and popcorn side options. The cocktails, beers, and liquors menu is decent. Ramen flavor is okay. Best part is they open until 2am when you’re out drinking and need a place to get something to eat besides Katz.

Pros: Hip, full of character, opens late, extra noodles for free, and a full bar! Cons: Broth is not nearly hearty and satisfying enough. The miso ramen literally tastes like miso soup. which is just water + miso paste. The noodles are a little too soft. The spam mitsubi is NOT made fresh. It came in plastic wrap which I thought is a little weird. Service was fine. I was starving and exhausted at 1:30AM after a flight delay, so overall i enjoyed the meal because it was comforting hot soup with noodles. But I definitely wouldn’t recommend coming out just for the food. Also parking situation is no bueno.

Not great. The building is quaint, sort of hard to find, so keep an eye out. No parking, but what can you expect on Washington? As soon as I sat down, I noticed the sign that others posted a picture of, which reads: NOTO-GO NOWIFI NOSRIRACHA NOFORKS NOPUBLICBATHROOMS NOBADTIPS I have no idea what the rest the sign says because I just felt like I was rudely denied of something I didn’t even ask for. I came with 4 friends. They all got spicy miso. For some reason, the first two came out fast, but the third came out more slowly. I got my mazeman even later. The last guy got his bowl when we all finished eating. And I eat slow. Other than slow food, the service was good. Water refills constantly. Anyway, on to the flavor. Definitely not worth the price. The pork belly, as others have stated, is tough and rubbery. The eggs were good, and my dry noodles were good. A little too soft(just short of mushy) but decent flavor. The spicy miso. is just regular soup with sriracha added. So that’s why we can’t ask for more? A spoonful of sriracha makes it spicy for an extra $.50. The only nice thing was that you can ask for extra noodles for free. Then again, the portions weren’t very big to start with, especially when they charge more than every other place where I’ve had ramen(including Kata, Tiger Den, Taiko). I honestly would not recommend this place unless you’re coming to drink and really really really want ramen late at night.

Beautiful concept. Sell one entrée on the menu and sell lots of drinks. Great interior layout and design as well. How can this not be profitable? If you have this concept, your one entrée(ramen) needs to be to-die-for. Well, the ramen here was not to-die-for. I liked the noodles. The broth was decent, but the slices of pork belly was a killer. The belly tasted like it’s been boiled and then seared. You know that pork belly texture and taste you get from Vietnamese spring rolls? Yes, it’s comparable. A good pork ramen needs braised-melt-in-your-mouth taste. Gosh, and for two bowls, $ 28 before tipping? That’s steep. Still. Cool concept this business has, but they should really improve on their ramen… Or maybe not? I don’t see competition.

After months of anticipation, I finally tried this place out. If you bink, you will miss it since the gray building with small sign blends in so well(very ninja-ness ;) Yes, they may only offer 4 types of broths(orginal, spicy, miso and spicy miso) but I am still a FAN! I recommend the spicy miso and add extra everything… trust me on this. The broth had very good flavor and the eggs… sooooo good! I also recommend trying out the pan seared spam. I know I know, how good could spam be? Well, apparently pretty darn tasty if you pan sear it, put it on top of some rice and wrap it in some seaweed… who woulda thunk it! They also have a nice cocktail list full of specialty drinks and a good beer selection. I totally dig how they are open until 2am Tues-Thurs, Sundays AND open until 3am on Fri and Sat; Now that is some serious late night munchie food!
