Shopping along the strip, when the wife and I decided to stop in and have some drinks and a bite to eat. Having passed quite a few restaurants whose patios were full of folks enjoying the beautiful afternoon, started to get a bad feeling when the patio for Local Pour was empty. Thought they were closed for a second. This should have tipped me off. Walked in and the young hostess sounded less than enthused when I asked to sit outside. Second warning ignored. Another young lady took us to our table but had to immediately come back with menus and silverware and then a third time to bring drink menu. Oh well, we had time and were enjoying the afternoon. So we sat back looked through the menus and waited… and waited… and waited. Ten minutes later and not one person had come by to check on us or take any kind of order. Gave it another few minutes and decided it was time to take off. Had been looking forward to this place for awhile but don’t think I’ll be coming back if this is the type of service they provide. Went back inside to let the hostess know that no one had come by and they acted surprised and apolegetic, but it was not that busy and only one maybe two other tables had come in since us and if they can’t remember that we are out there then the place should not have a patio to begin with.

Nice place for appetizers, a few drinks and they usually have pretty good bands on weekends after 10pm. Crowd is 30+ on average. More of a singles bar than a place for couples. Parking is free, but they also have Valet. Nice area of town in River Oaks. Nice crowd on average. Not a bad place to dance as well.

Live band on Fridays! I went here with a group of friends for a birthday. I would definitely recommend reserving a table beforehand or else all the good tables will already be occupied whether or not they ordered bottle service. Theres a huge parking lot with plenty of available spots, but if you must feel the need to valet its available as well.

I kept hearing about this place from coworkers. Finally went out there for brunch today, but the food was so underwhelming. Everything sounded amazing on the menu, but when they came out, all I can think was«meh». The only redeeming thing about my $ 14 mediocre dish was the $ 0.99 mimosa, at least that’s harder to screw up :/.

Love this place! Been here several times on Friday and Saturday nights and it doesn’t disappoint. There’s a band that plays a good mix of music(most pop and currently popular songs at the moment) and people always fill the dance floor. It’s also easy to find parking, and they don’t let thr place get overly packed or too crowded.

I went here on a Saturday night with two coworker friends. We did not drive. We parked our car at my friend’s home and used Über. We arrived around 10:30 p.m., it was extremely crowded, it took about 10 to 15 minutes to place a drink order at the bar. Its a large restaurant-style bar. There were lots of tables and chairs when you first walk in, the bar(only one) is alongside the left wall. Then there are more tables and chairs going towards the stage in the rear of the building. The kitchen is along the left close to the back/stage/dancefloor area. The dancefloor was so small we decided to dance while standing next to the kitchen which is where we stood the whole time we were there. Average price for a drink is 8 bucks. The crowd seemed a bit uptight, not very lively or friendly although I met 3 nice people who partied with us for a bit. There were a lot of men standing around staring. The crowd was not very diverse as I would have liked. There was a birthday party in progress closer to the stage. The live band took to the stage around 11pm and they were AWESOME. They did a lot of r & b cover songs(r kelly’s ignition)-which I loved! After 3 rounds of drinks my friends and I started dancing and having fun. Unfortunately, i waited until 1:05am to try to place a food order(to go) and the kitchen closes promptly at 1. Not too long after that I called über to take me home. Overall it was OK. The only reason I would consider going back is to try the food.

It’s def a mature crowd here. The cocktail menu had few selection but surprisingly there were plenty of beer to choose from which are written along the bar. Tried the Hawaiian mule featuring New Amsterdam vodka which had a good amount of liquor and mix ratio but wasn’t anything out the ordinary. On a good note, bartender was quick and helpful with their drink menus. Only came here for a few drinks so I didn’t get to try their food but friends say Sunday is good to come back. Will update if I ever do! As for night life I probably wouldn’t come back unless someone suggests to.

Came here on a Sunday evening for dinner with a small group of friends. The restaurant maybe had 15 – 20 people there… maybe. In other words; fairly empty. Service: POOR The service from the waiter started off slow, as I had just sat down and since I didn’t know what I wanted to drink, the waiter said he would come back. He never came back. After about 30 minutes we had to ask for the dinner menu, in which he gave us one menu for 6 people. Throughout the night, he would walk by our table and completely ignore us. When he did converse with us, it was as though he was in a terrible mood. Oh, and I think the other waiter who started to help us was either high or just plain dumb. Our drinks rarely were refilled. Food: OKAY Appetizers and meals came out almost at the same time. My burger didn’t have the fries with it, and I had to ask again about it 10 minutes later… as well as a side of mustard for my burger which was cold by this point. Beer: OKAY It’s an okay selection. But for a place referencing to beverages, the actual list of beers on tap is minimal. There is a better selection of bottled beer. I just hope you have better service to keep your palate satisfied. I will not be returning.

Came here on a Thursday to meet a friend for drinks. We grabbed a table in the middle of the bar area. We ordered drinks and appetizers. We had«Roasted Garlic Hummus»(Garlic hummus served with whole roasted garlic, celery, cucumbers, red and yellow bell peppers, carrots, sliced radish, and bread)… It did not have a lot of garlic flavor but it did have a little kick, it wasn’t the best hummus I have ever had but it was alright. We also ordered the«LP Crab cakes» they were the size of a small coaster and almost as thin but it did taste like a crab cake. Of the 3 items we ordered, I enjoyed the«Seared Ahi Tuna» the most, it had good flavor and was prepared just right. Our wait person was very friendly and for the most part attentive. There was a bus person working the room that never smiled and did not care to be friendly. I was a little entertained trying to get him to respond or smile back.

Great place. Super selection of beers and staff are very helpful if you are not sure what to try. Look forward to returning and trying some food. One issue –the water served from the gun at the bar tastes like Catfish.

Great place for a weekend love band night. I was however a little disappointed with the drinks and starters. We ordered the Moscow Mule but it was not mixed well… too much lime. We also had the Korean pork but it needed to be done better. I will surely go there again as its a great place to be on a weekend night.

I was really expecting this place to have great drinks and great food. Not so much at our table. Beer selection was good. Cocktail selection was good and tasty. Food: this is where it gets odd. From around the table we ordered appetizers and full meals. Most of the meals were wayyyy too salty for most of our tastes(there were 8 of us). My ahi tuna tacos were essentially the toughest thing I had to chew through since eating raw octopus. Not a fan at all! The pasta passed the good test by one friend but the salt was just overwhelming on the chicken app. I would say we will be back to use it as a hang out with plenty of bar space, tables, and comfy couches but won’t eat there again. The Valet staff was very courteous especially in the rain that night. The server was not paying much attention to us all night. She either had too many tables or just is not good at her job. Water was not filled when empty, waited so long for one meal they had to comp it! Wish it had been better. We were celebrating my hubby and mine birthdays.

I’m not really sure why there are so many bad reviews for this place. I went for brunch with a few friends and everything we got was great. I got the crab cakes benedict which was delicious. The eggs were perfectly poached and everything went together well. The crab cake had great flavor and wasn’t all bread like some places. If I had anything to complain about it was that the crab cake was a little too big for the English muffin(which is not a problem at all to me!) You can’t beat 99 cent mimosas. I got the mango mimosa. I could taste the mango and they didn’t skimp on the champagne. The service was good, the food was great, and the atmosphere was quiet. I was actually suprised there weren’t more people there for brunch. Although they do have a limited brunch menu, they do what they do well. I would definitely recommend Local Pour and plan on coming back to check it out at night.

This is the first bar I went to when I came to Houston. I still have a hard time figuring out whether I like this place or not. Like a lot of people have mentioned that the happy hour there is awesome. And that does draw people back. But, you are left wondering, does this place have more to offer? The place has a really nicely done interior and its a moderately classy place to go to on a Friday or Saturday night as well, if you don’t want to get too crazy by heading Midtown and if you prefer to hang out with a slightly more mature crowd. But, in all fairness the crowd can vary a lot at this place as well with the age delta swelling as the night grows. Pros: Great Beer selection. The cockails are very decent and for a change the bar tenders are very spontaneous and friendly. They have a decent selection of food too. Some of the people you would meet there are really decent people you can hold a conversation with. They have a live band which tends to be pretty. Great parking + valet! Cons: At times the crowd can be iffyyy. Gets pretty crowded on weekends. Slightly pricey drinks, but then again it is in the River Oaks area. It makes up for it due to the convenient location.(Wish I could give it 3.5 stars because of that) Lol.

Local«Meat» Market Thursday through Saturday nights. Other than the people who frequent this place, the venue hosts good music(great for dancing) and decent pub style food. I used to enjoy coming there. However, this place has gotten so popular that it’s hard to hear anyone or even have a conversation even on a non-weekend night and it’s standing room only on some nights. They have Happy Hour Monday through Thursday 4pm until 9pm. Parking is usually a problem Thursday through Saturday nights, since the place shares the entire lot with the other River Oaks center merchants and restaurants. Some of the prices of food and drinks can get pretty pricey past happy hour. They have 40+ beers on tap. I haven’t come here during the day for lunch. I would imagine it’s not a bustling, and parking should not be a problem.

I’ve been to Local Pour on many of occasions as they hosted Michigan football watch party’s last season and made a trip last night. Since it’s in River Oaks, Local Pour is an upscale bar with a great beer selection as well as live bands. The stage is towards the end of the bar and there is room to dance if that’s your thing. The food is bar food, average nothing to write home about. Drinks are a bit overpriced but it’s River Oaks so I would expect nothing else. What makes Local Pour interesting is the variety of people who show up: an older crowd 40+ mingling with young professionals in their 20’s and 30’s which is not something you see everywhere in the Houston nightlife scene.

I LOVED our bartender Adam. He asked about what kinds of beers my friend and I liked and suggested some amazing beers. I had the left hand milk stout mixed with founder’s blushing monk and it tasted like a chocolate candy with raspberry filling. Highly recommended. And Adam is super cute too, lol. He is extremely knowledgeable and I will definitely be coming back. Hopefully next time the kitchen will be open to try their food!

Cool gastro pub with tons of beer on tap and some pretty delicious food! They have at least 40 beers on tap — including many local and Texas options, such as 512, 8th Woner, Adelberts, Independence, Karbach, Live Oak, Real Ale, and Saint Arnold beers. Then there are even more beers available bottled! And then there are wines and cocktails! A different special every day. For example, Monday: $ 2 off specialty cocktails, Tuesday: big pour on select wines, etc. They serve brunch on Sundays from 11 am to 3 pm — Mimosas are 99 cents or $ 5.99 for a carafe! They have several vegetarian options: French onion dip, spicy spinach & artichoke dip, chips with salsa & queso, tomato & goat cheese bruschetta, warm pretzel with cheese fondue, a strawberry fields salad, and veggie tacos! Very hip interior — cool place to grab a local beer and some pub food!

Really great selection of draft beer! Not only that but the bartenders are very helpful when ordering. They asked what types of beer I like and they poured a few samples for me to try. I really appreciate that, especially because the beer isn’t exactly cheap! Long story short, I found 2 new beers I like. I had a better time here finding new tasty beer than I did at the Beer Fest. I really love the décor and ambiance. I enjoyed my visit so much that I went back a few days later with my husband so that he could experience it too. We happened to be here on a Sunday for All Day Happy Hour so that was awesome. We also ordered some Pretzel Bites which were yum but definitely not worth $ 9??? I’ll just stick to the beer.

Long day at the office? This place is perfect for you. The happy hour here is really good and I’ve even seen a few office happy hours being had. The servers are always nice and personable, and the tropical mojito tastes like rain forest heaven.(*heaven*).
