Definitely the best place to eat Mexican food here! Portions are huge and reasonably priced. The Lunch specials are the best deals. Parking sometimes can be a hassle but nothing to be concerned about.

Service and food have gone downhill since I went two years ago. Called in for takeout — two enchiladas and was told to come in 15 – 20 minutes. Went after 20 minutes and STILL had to wait 12 more minutes. There were 2 tables there. A four top and two top. Enchiladas were ok but the salsa has changed to something salty.

This restaurant had very poor service. It was unclear where we were supposed to sit from the minute we walked in. The waitress, while nice, clearly had too many tables to wait. The food was poor at best. Definitely nothing remotely authentic about it, and other than the melted cheese on top of the food was rather unappetizing. For the amount and quality of food it was definitely overpriced. I got the chimichanga, which was not crispy, and my friend had a chile relleno, which he claimed was disappointing. The rice was very bland, and the beans weren’t anything special. Definitely not returning.

All of the recent one star reviews are for good reason. We waited an hour to get our food, the waitress didn’t bring utensils(also mentioned in a recent review), the waitress was rude, and it was all around a terrible dining experience. I’ve been coming here for many years now, my mom knows one of the brothers that owns the place. Well, not ever eating here again or doing takeout like we often do. No wonder it was so crowded, the people next to us were looking at their watches and asked for their check the same time their food came. An older guy was upset cause his food took like an hour too. Toritos, if you’re reading this. You need some new servers. I tipped a fraction of what I always tip when we eat out and even then I think that was generous. I seriously contemplated tipping $ 0.

If there was a choice to put no stars I would. This place ruined my New Years! FOODPOISONING!!! Let me start by telling you what kind of service they had… The night before New Year’s Eve we wanted to have some Mexican food(I’ve been wanting to trying this restaurant.) Went in. not too many customers… seated ourselves and waited around 10MINUTES to Come say hi to us and to get our order taken… second we didn’t get any water until 5MINUTES after we got our FOOD! The waiter didn’t refill our glasses and while it got busy the lady that was the cashier didn’t even help the waiter to get things moving… all she was doing was chillin by the register… after we were done with our food we waited almost 30 minutes, got up on my own and asked the lady who was still standing by the register for us to get our check… instead of waiting for them to pick up the check from our table I decided to bring it to the cashier so that we wouldn’t have to wait too long. When we got home I started to feel sick… I had pain in my stomach and I kept having to use the bathroom… The next day was New Year’s Eve. my fiancée and I had plans to have a good time but what happened? Come to find out I had FOODPOISONING from the restaurant!!! I didn’t eat anything else but what I had that night because I already felt sick! Our New Years got ruined! Thank you Toritos for giving me the worst food poisoning ever!

Had a great time at Toritos today. We went to another place first, and they’d closed early so we were stoked the Toritos guys let us get lunch specials(we walked in right at/within a couple minutes of cut off time for lunch specials). Service was great and so was the food. Mahalo!

My girlfriend and I have been fans of the food at Torito’s and especially on the value we get for the money. And up to that point, the wait staff treated us well. So you can imagine the disappointment we had at the level of service we received today. We seated ourselves and were brought water and the menus, but apparently the waiter or waitress didn’t think to bring napkins and utensils. In the end we ended up having to grab them from an adjacent table in order to eat. One incident made the two of us unhappy, my girlfriend especially. No one bothered to refill our water glasses after some point, and my girlfriend was forced to bring her glass to the counter to get her water glass filled. Meanwhile, our waiter passed by the table, not even noticing our empty glasses, and yelled off to someone in the distance. Apparently what he was going to say to the other person was more important than making sure that our thirst was satisfied, and that we weren’t being ignored. If Torito’s wants our business again, they are going to have to pay more attention to their customers, even in the late afternoon after the lunch rush. The way we were treated was unacceptable — and in retrospect, it was unacceptable to the point that I regret leaving having left even a reduced tip.

I am a American Mexican man. My family has Mexican food restaurants through out Mexico and California. The place did meet our urge for Mexican food. Carne Asada nachos were my favorite at Gus place. But the best Mexican food will always be in LA…

If you like Taco Bell, you will like Torito’s. It is essentially the same food. Although I give only two stars to the place, I will say, the server(not the waitress) was helpful when it came to explaining the vegetarian options. I asked about the beans to be sure there was no lard in them and he gave me the run down of what I could and could not order. That was super helpful and I was impressed. And that is where the positive vibe ended. We ordered our food quickly, and surveyed our surroundings. It is a bit run down. There is a bar of sorts that doesn’t serve alcohol and has tiles missing and just looks bad. The tables and chairs look pretty classic Mexican décor. Tables are tiled, at least. Cleanliness was borderline, but not bad. I ordered the tostada and husband ordered the nachos. I’ll mention the problem with the service, first. My order was supposed to have guacamole and sour cream. It arrived without either. I tried to get the attention of the two people on the floor but once the food was served, they never looked in our direction again. We sat there for over five minutes looking towards the back of the restaurant where they both stood doing other things. We waited for them to glance in our direction so I could get my stuff because I didn’t want to eat my food without them. So, that irritated me greatly. At a certain point, my husband finally got up and went to the back to tell the cook. He apologized and sent over the guacamole and sour cream immediately. The tostada came with beans, and because I am vegetarian, I got a «salad» on the side. What I really got was two halves of a taco shell lathered in beans(there should be a thin layer), with shredded lettuce on top and some cheese. There was a dab of what I think they are calling pico de gallo or similar. On the side I had some more beans and my salad was the exact same thing that was on my taco-tostada. There were many things wrong with this plate. First, a tostada shell should have been used because they are generally thicker and tastier. Second, there were just too many beans on the tostada. It weighed it down and the whole thing was soggy and just broke in my hands. The salad had no dressing so it wasn’t a salad, it was just more of what they put on top of the tostada. The cheese is not Mexican. The flavors are ok if you like Taco Bell. I expected better, so was disappointed. My husband said his nachos were ok. Nothing to complain nor rave about. No way will we be back.

A really good place for Mexican food when you’re really hungry — they stack your plate! The food is nearly reminiscent of the Mexican places in San Diego, although they don’t have nearly as large a selection of meats to choose from. Save room for dessert as they’ve got some really awesome selections. The staff is friendly and they know how to have fun while making sure customers are taken care of.

Pretty solid mexi place. Def come here if you’re hungry, the plates are MASSIVE! I gotta admit that I was a little bummed when we showed up and realized alcohol was not being served, but the place is BYOB and foodland is next door! I tried the torito burrito plate, left barely able to walk. Fully endorse this place, but sad there’s no more li hing margz. Will def be back!

I went to Torito’s at 8:30. By 8:34, still no one has greeted me and my girlfriend. We waited until 8:36 and left, where we could see 3 guys standing behind the wall by the cash register. My girlfriend said they met eyes when we came in, so they knew we were there. We were regulars at Toritos. We used to love the lunch special, and then the bar disappeared, and now the service has too. You can’t get a water refilled, the entrees are messed up because(it appears) they usually missed one, so the cheese is burnt on the one they remembered.

Got a beef burrito. My thoughts? Eh. The rice is really tasty tho! And churros never disappoint!!! The smell isn’t so clean… It smells like old cooking grease that needs to be cleaned ASAP! But other than that, awesome customer service and DEFINITELY waaaay more tastier than Oahu Mexican Grill. Maybe its cuz im from cali and my expectations for mexican food is extremely high… but eh.

Location/Parking: They are located in the Market City shopping center. Parking can be a pain during peak lunch and time times. Service: The service was less to be desired. The seating is seat yourself. A worker drops off a few menu and a few minutes later a local guy just stand by our table, no greeting just waiting with a paper and pen. I would have been nice to been greeted and to state who you are and what your specials are today. Food: The food was good and the portions were huge! I didn’t care for my burrito but my husband enjoyed his burrito and enchilada. I liked that the meat was tender and flavorful. My daughter’s meal was huge. She got a cheese quesadilla and french fries. I like how the kid’s menu included a drink and a scoop of ice cream. I had to get the churro when I saw it on the menu and it was delicious! Not much Mexican restaurants offer churro on the dessert menu. Price: The prices are reasonable! The kid’s menu is less than $ 7 which is a great price for what you get. The burrito was $ 10 and my husband’s combo platter was around $ 15. The three mini pieces of churro cost less than $ 4. Bathroom: You need a code for the bathroom and they can be found on the door leading to the bathroom. The bathrooms are a little old and dingy looking. But I think the overall shopping center needs a face lift. Overall, the food was good but my experience would have been better if the customer service part of my dining experience was better.

I’m sorry… I am not a fan of this place because of the food… But I was hungry and on my lunch HOUR. Let me start off by saying the service was awesome! The chips were great!!! BUT the food I ordered was not the greatest and because of that I gave 2 stars *sad face* The picture on the menu looked good but what I tasted was far from it. I ordered beef enchilada with everything. I was not pleased. I most likely will not return. The place was dark and it had a dirty smell as well. Oh lots of parking located in the shopping center.

Real authentic Mexican food! So delicious! I am not a fan of the nachos because it wasn’t fresh; I’m used to the warm nachos Mexican restaurants served BUT their entrees are really good! Probably one of the best Mexicans food I’ve ever had. Nom nom nom! I do regret that we weren’t notified about their secret menu/«specials» so make sure you specifically ask the server about it. Service is okay. The ambiance of this restaurant is decent and prices are good especially for their portions. I do want to highlight their choice of music, they play Mexican music which is appropriate(esp for those who do not understand Spanish) but at some point they played Lil Jon’s song containing some explicit words— this is a family restaurant and parents bring their children here. Let’s consider the children’s welfare because as much as we think they don’t pay attention, they are.

My family and I love Mexican! Torito’s is one of our favorite spots, although parking in the Market City shopping center can be difficult. Salsa is fresh and delish. If you like spicy, ask for their half & half ~ half jalapeños, half habañeros you can add to your salsa and food. *Beware: it’ll definitely add a kick and may bring the sweat on. Service has always been great, especially when Rico is on the floor. We love him. After dining at the different Mexican restaurants on the island, Torito’s has the best Mexican rice and tamale. I always order my tamale with their shredded pork. Tender, moist and tasty. Their Ranchero sauce is super delish too. Kids meals are served with a drink and choice of rainbow sherbet or vanilla ice cream.

The search for Mexican food here in Hawaii. Different standards than if we were geographically closer to Mexico. After a hike, one of our hiking buddies recommended this Mexican restaurant. We ran into another of our hiking buddies in the parking lot on the way to the restaurant. What a coincidence! My fiancé and I opted for our own separate two-combination plates — taco and enchilada. I thought my combo plate was tasty and flavorful. Vegetarian notes — combo plates can do veggie(that is what I did) — chile relleno extra for the combo — enchilada sauce not veggie-friendly — so salsa instead — Mexican rice not veggie-friendly — beans are veggie-friendly(no lard) Hit the spot! Chips and salsa awesome! Bottom line: I’d go back. Not bad for Hawaii!

Torito’s is a small, seat-yourself Mexican joint located in the Market City Shopping Center. Their customer service is fantastic. The first time I dined at Torito’s Mike was our server. I don’t think he works there anymore but he was quick, friendly and very attentive. Our drinks were constantly re-filled and he made sure he checked on us often but didn’t hover. The second time I dined at Torito’s, we had the pleasure of having our order taken by their manager, Rico. He gave us suggestions on what to order and gave us a rundown of their drink specials and what his favorites were. What I thought was cool was he asked how far our drive home was going to be and then recommended maybe trying certain drinks another night when we didn’t have to drive. So the first time I dined there, I don’t even remember what I had and I’m usually good at remember what dish I had and if I enjoyed it or not. Well, apparently it wasn’t memorable. Recently, I had their enchiladas and I was pretty disappointed. The sauce was really bland and it tasted like the just poured some random tomato sauce over the food. I also tried one of their specials which was a burrito with steak and french fries. Now THAT was good but then again, they claim to serve authentic Mexican food and french fries are not. Lastly, I don’t even know why they waste their time with the chips and salsa. Their chips taste like the store-bought tortilla chips from Costco or something. I don’t know, I’m so torn with Torito’s because the customer service is pretty top-notch but their food is substandard. I can usually tolerate going somewhere for excellent food with poor customer service but I don’t think I can do the other way around. They do have some great nightly drink specials so I can see myself returning for just drinks. By the way, their tequila specialty is Peligroso. So the answer to the real question, Mexi-CAN? Or Mexi-CAN’T? Is… Mexi-can’t. Sorry, Torito’s, your customer service is pretty swell but your food… meh, not so much.
