Literally OMG, this place is as close to Chipotle as you can get on Oahu! Oahu Mexican Grill is located on King and University, and shares the same parking as University Square. They will validate your parking up to one hour after dining there. For the unfortunate souls who haven’t blessed their taste buds with the amazing goodness that is Chipotle, here is how you order: First, choose either a burrito, taco(2), salad, or a bowl. Second, choose your filling among grilled chicken, grilled steak, cheese and beans, barbacoa, and roasted veggies. Third, choose the kind of rice(mexican or cilantro lime) and beans(black or pinto) you want, sauce, veggies, guacamole, etc. (You can do half and half with the type of rice and beans if you don’t what you like). I got the cheese and beans salad, and my bf ordered the grilled steak tacos. In my opinion, they were a lot smaller than I had expected, and we were able to polish off both with ease. They also sell Mexican sodas, coconut water, and they also have a lunch special for $ 8 which includes: a taco, chips, and a beer! I think I’ll stick with getting a burrito next time; the tacos were about the same size as the small street tacos, and were a bit pricey for their portion. Their meats are all steroid, hormone, and antibiotic free. Also, I recommend trying their salsas! They have a variety ranging from mild to spicy, to spicier, and spiciest! I tried one of their pineapple salsas and smothered it all over my salad. YUM.

This is a tiny place, more like fast food, where you can order what you“d like in your burritos. That being said, the burritos are huge, tasty, and reasonably priced. I“all stop here whenever I’m in the neighborhood.

I love this place! When I’m hungry I get a burrito and it’s big! If I want the same taste but be more healthy I get the taco salad. They also have super nachos and tacos. The price depends on what kind of meat you choose. They sell beer and non alcoholic beverages. Water is free and the staff is FABULOUS!

How did we not know about this place all this time?! Thanks to my boyfriends cousin, we got to try some really good Mexican food. O M G(Oahu Mexican Grill) Is right lol. Burrito is huge & nachos had a heaping hill of toppings. Amazingly we ate the whole thing & it tastes even better with the hot sauce. Only thing missing was horchata which they don’t sell, unfortunately. They do have a wide range of Mexican soda that I will most def try the next time I come back. Menu is self explanatory, which is a plus especially for people like us. We’re clueless when it comes to Mexican. They go by steps! Choose from tacos, burritos, nachos or even a bowl. Then on to your meats, sauces & other toppings. They make it in front of you & the choices are behind a glass. Ta-daaaa, ready to eat. I really liked the beef brisket, soooo tasty.

OMG, that burrito was huge! For those who are health conscious, you will not have to worry too much about over indulging because I got a workout lifting the burrito into my mouth like a 5 lbs. dumbbell with every bite. The burrito was big enough to fill me up for 2 meals! I’m obsessed with bean and cheese burritos and I never thought it’d be so hard to find something so simple here in Hawaii. This burrito did not satisfy that craving, but it was good enough. I think the pico de gallo was a bit too watery and made the burrito soggy. None of the salsas I chose were spicy enough for me and the beans weren’t very flavorful. The price was very reasonable at $ 6.50 for such a huge serving. Although this is not my favorite burrito, I thought the service was quick and friendly and the parking was way easier than I expected for the area. I pulled into that corner lot thinking $ 2 wasn’t too bad for parking, but to my surprise, it was free because I got out of there within 15 minutes. There are plenty of other options to try that I might enjoy more and they also serve margaritas! I will be back to try them out!

I imagine this is a popular stop for students in the area because you can get tasty food, made fast, that won’t break the bank. Plus free validated parking in the uncovered lot on the corner of University and King St! The menu’s simple. You can opt for a burrito, salad, tacos, bowl(burrito minus tortilla), or nachos. Price depends on your meat choice(although you can get roasted veggie option too). Comes with complimentary sour cream, lettuce, salsa, pico de gallo, choice of beans(black or pinto), rice(mexican or cilantro lime), and corn. Extra couple dollars for gauc. I ordered the bowl with kalua carnitas served over the cilantro lime rice($ 9.25). I’m keeping it real when I say Taco Bell assembles their rice bowls nicer than OMG, but in the end, all the ingredients come together well. The kalua had that good smoky flavor. I was satisfied w/my choice and would get it again! My bf had the burrito, which has a good amount of rice in it(which if you’re a mexican rice fiend like me, you’ll be happy with). He said it was good with the grilled chicken, filling. However, he was disappointed they didn’t have hot sauces out to chose from or breakfast burritos/tacos on the menu(can’t please everyone). Service is fast! The place has a small amount of seating but it seems like most customers grab and go. Décor was cool with random pinatas hanging around.

For about $ 8 – 9 you can get a huge burrito with all the fixings you want and enough for 2 meals if you’re a modest eater. I had the braised beef as my main protein and the meat was tender and flavorful. Great selection of salsas, too.

If you enjoy Mexican flavors, freshly made condiments, and you like the idea of a quaint and friendly setting … then this is the place for you. Frankly, I’m not an expert on Mexican food by any stretch of the imagination, but in my opinion OMG is fantastic!!! Small, friendly and welcoming are great ways to describe the eatery itself. Not a great place for large groups or a romantic dinner, but it is perfect for a casual quick bite or getting an order to go. The food options aren’t diverse, but what they do offer they do VERY well. Prices are reasonable. For right around $ 8 — $ 10 a person you definitely WILL get an ample portion. Yet if, like me, you aren’t super picky about the flavors, and care more about value over price, I think you could probably get a reasonable equivalent at Taco Del Mar. Hell, add enough hot sauce, guacamole and sour cream and voila! ya got decent fake Mexican food. The staff were friendly and efficient. The parking is validated at a near by lot. But the location itself is not terribly convenient unless you’re already in the University area.(Except on Sundays and holidays when street parking is free and available). All in all, I WILL visit again — on a weekend :-)

First thought of this place is that it is similar to Chipotle. Loved it right off the bat. Small hole in the wall on King st. Has a little mexican type ambiance im the restaurant. Ordered burritos and all the fillings are right in front of you to choose. Everything looked fresh and the prices were decent. It is definitely hard to find good Mexican restaurants in Hawaii having trying good places in the mainland. The best part I liked about the burritos is that the workers made them tight without the burrito falling apart, especially when you get towards the end of the burrito. I have a pet peeve about a badly made burrito that falls apart after a while. So after seeing how they make their burritos I will definitely be back here whenever I am in the area.

Hawaii’s never had a legit Mexican restaurant. OMG isn’t it either. It’s as Mexican as Taco Bell is, but better, and I’m okay with that. Say hello to Hawaii’s version of Chipotle. We’ve ordered from here multiple times for work and I always get my usual: roasted veggie bowl with cilantro lime rice, pinto beans, cheese, lettuce, poblano corn salsa, picco de gallo, and diablo sauce. I’ve tried the chicken before but I didn’t like the dryness of it. The bowl essentially looks like a hot mess, but it’s a hot delicious mess. I don’t know if Hawaii will ever have a good Mexican restaurant but until then, OMG will do. Though I wouldn’t mind if they added margaritas to the menu(hinthint). Other info: Order online to save time! Just need a credit card Phone orders can be made for those paying with cash First 10 min of parking is free in the lot. OMG will give you up to one hour validation after if needed

Eating Mexican food brings back fond memories of late nights, food cravings when drunk, and hangover eats. I remember back in college, there was this burrito place where the burritos where as big as your head. OMG reminds me greatly of this place. The toppings were super fresh and great! The burrito was bigger than my head. and it was ONO! So why the mediocre score? because I also ate chips and queso. The chips were merely passable. With everything else being so fresh and tasty, I was kind of expecting fresh chips fried on the spot. and the queso was gritty. when taco bell has better queso than you do, something’s very wrong. Bottom line. Burritos are awesome! skip the chips and queso

The kalua carnitas burrito is delicious. Simmered and fried pulled pork. For a Hawaii Chipotle style Mexican place, their«carnitas» burrito is pretty good. Burritos come with sour cream(yay!), pinto or black beans, cheese, lettuce, corn, pico de gallo, salsa, and a choice of spanish or lime rice. The chipotle salsa and the verde tomatillo salsa are pretty good. The salads are pretty good, too. Tasty and large. The southwestern vinaigrette is pretty delicious.

OMG doesn’t serve any quesadillas, which is disappointing, but their burritos are quite big and really good. I got to add three different salsas, which was a nice change from Verde(because Verde charges for each salsa). I got my burrito for 9.60 $

love the cilantro lime rice! Walked in about 20 minutes before they closed and wanted to take my food to go but I decided to have a beer with dinner so we wound up sitting down and eating our burrito babies in the restaurant. My burrito baby had the above mentioned cilantro lime rice, grilled steak, verde sauce, corn salsa, cheese, black beans, & guac(which cost extra) It was wonderful and I was only able to eat like ¾ of it because it was kind of a monster sized baby lol. The Rouge Mocha Porter I had with the burrito was exactly perfect for me because it was flavorful but not so demanding that it competed with the taste of the food. Parking was also plentiful when we went that night and free validation is always a plus(b/c you can use that extra money for guac on your food!)

Their food is as good as their service! Everyone is polite and happy to serve their customers. I love how they all had a smile on their face! We ordered their chicken and beef burritos. They were monstrous!(In a good way, of course) I asked them to cut our burritos in half due to the size. I even had to take home the other half of my burrito because I was already full from the first half. Their burritos can range from $ 8-$ 12 depending on how many add ins you decide to put in there. I paid about $ 10 for each burrito since we wanted guacamole($ 2 additional) and veggies($ 1 additional) in there. Definitely worth it! We walked out with our stomachs full and happy… We will definitely be back!

Gosh! This place is sooo ONO! My hubby absolutely loves Mexican food and because my favorite joint, Cocina is temporarily closed, I had to find a replacement quick! Thanks to Unilocalers(as always) for the helpful reviews. OMG Oahu Mexican Grill is located in the corner of South King St. and University Avenue. Although parking is a little bit tricky, there is a paid parking near the restaurant that runs $ 1.50PER ½ an hr(yes, half an hour). The restaurant is not hidden but I can see how many miss it, just pay attention to your GPS and the road and you will find it. The restaurant offers a good flavor/variety of burritos, tacos, nachos, etc. Serving on the other hand is plenty! Along with budget friendly costs. Moreover, the burrito specifically almost reminds me of Chipotle! Also, the tacos are honestly not your typical tacos, the tacos are almost like open-burritos. From good options, I chose Kalua Carnitas which is really yummy– the meat is well seasoned and cooked«just right»(thinking about it makes me hungry). My hubby on the other hand, had steak and I assume he loved it because he ate it all! He insists to come back for tacos next time. He wants to rate OMG Oahu Mexican Grill with 4.2345 stars!(Round up=4. LOL). Alcoholic beverages such as margaritas, regular beer and root beer-beer(can’t remember the name) are available. The interior of this restaurant is alright. There’s a lot of incoming traffic from all walks of life(which is cool) especially students, therefore, seating can be limited. All in all, I consider this restaurant as comfortable and low-key. In conclusion, for all Cocina fans like me looking for an alternate Mexican joint– this might be it for you too! OMG Oahu Mexican Grill is a MUST check out hole in a wall-restaurant.

Hawaii may be paradise in some sense, but for Mexican food, it is something of a wasteland. I’m not a stickler for authenticity, but I do expect it to be good, and it seems like it’s rarely satisfying. The Mexican food on Oahu is just ‘off’ most of the time and inevitably too bland — not well-seasoned, not picante. But OMG(as Oahu Mexican Grill is known) was a happy, hopeful exception. We had the braised beef burrito and tacos, with each kind of rice(Spanish and cilantro-lime) and black beans; an order of tortilla chips and queso; and everything was delicious. Portions were generous, to say the least. Since our order was too narrow(didn’t sample the pork, chicken, or carne asada), we intend to return to try the other items. The inside of the restaurant is relatively small and a touch dingy, but adequate. The service was enthusiastically helpful and pleasant. About the only negative was the parking, and it turns out that there is validated parking in a lot just down the street — if only we had known! This was a winner, and we’ll be back.

As soon as the door opened, I knew I would like this place. It’s cozy, but very inviting. There are bar seats and a couple of tables. Their menu is handwritten on a board right behind the counter, and you can see through the display case all of the yummy ingredients just waiting to be put together for you. One of your first questions will probably be … Where do I park??? Well — on the corner of King and University, there is the Varsity Square where you can park and OMG will validate your ticket for an hour. Or you can try and look for street parking. I took my time looking over the menu before stepping up to order. There are a lot of choices to be made. Their«bowls» are actually a tortilla-less entrée served in a to-go box. The only thing that seems fried here are their chips for the salsa. I ordered two grilled chicken tacos(soft flour tortilla shell — no crunchy tacos here) and as the server worked his way down the line of deliciousness I added things to them. I tried both of their rices(one in each taco), no beans, lettuce, tomatillo salsa, sour cream and guacamole. Their salsas and guacamole are homemade and you can taste the freshness. From the first heavenly bite I was oooo-ing and ahhh-ing. The fresh ingredients really make a difference. The lettuce was super crunchy, creamy guacamole with so much flavor and the grilled chicken had just a little spice to it. Those two tacos with a side of chips and salsa really filled me up. The workers are super helpful and happy. This is a definite must-try!!!

I spotted this place as we were driving by the other day on King St. It caught my attention because in big letters is OMG! And it made me curious as to what this restaurant was all about. Lot of reviews said it was like going to a Chipotle. I’m not quite sure about that since I’ve never been to a Chipotle, but it was a great set up. It kind of reminds me of when you go to Subway. You tell them what you want in your burrito/taco/bowl and go down the line, kind of like cafeteria style, I guess. Prices were pretty reasonable and I got the chicken burrito. My husband got the Kalua carnitas burrito. At first he was skeptical about having the Kalua as carnitas, but it was really tasty. Don’t get me wrong though, the chicken was very tasty as well. It was seasoned perfectly and the meat wasn’t dried out at all. The Kalua, however, had a nice smoky taste to it. I hope to come back soon!

Friend: Where should we eat? Me: Let’s go… OMG! Chicken burrito for dinner please… and tacos for you, my friend. I’ve been wanting to try this Mexican place but never could when not all your friends enjoy Mexican food. This place reminds me of Chipotle so much. I do miss eating there. The décor was nice and simple. There were picture frames on the walls. Cactus plants were table center piece. When we walked in the workers greeted us. I already know what I wanted so I went right ahead to order the chicken burrito. There was the option of spanish rice or saffron rice(got the spanish rice), pinto beans or black beans(got the pinto beans), choice of sauce(pico de gallo), lettuce and sour cream. After he rolled it up, it became a chubby burrito. My friend order the steak tacos. Total came out to around $ 18. Sat down at the table and tried to do a photo shoot with my food. It’s hard to get a nice angle/view of the burrito and taco. It either looks like a plain white roll burrito or a pile of mess like the tacos. My photos says it all. Whatever, I was hungry so it’s time to eat. Took a bite of my burrito… it was good. Not too salty, not too dry, and not too wet. My just right burrito. Took a while for me to finish it. I was surprised I devoured that burrito. Omnomnom… Definitely will be back.
