This is my favorite sushi place in the area. The prices are great and the sushi is always delicious. I’ve never had a bad experience here. I come here for lunch about once a week. The owner works here all the time, I’ve never seen anyone else. She always gets my order right. I get lunch and a drink for under $ 9.

The 4 stars is for the food. Not the best customer service, but I wasn’t put off too much. I didn’t take it oersomal, some people just aren’t as friends day as others. The food was really good. Came in plastic containers so it was definitely different than what I’m use to. Definitely not a first date spot. Fantastic place to grab some fresh sushi amd head to the beach though! I’ll be back, but not to dine in.

It was really great. I am amazed that the food comes out piping hot. Parking is a bit of a challenge with a capital ‘C’. However, the prices are cheap, and the service quick. I was rather taken aback by the wonderful shrimp tempura — it’s somewhere between small and a lot of food — just right.

Delicious. I wasn’t sure about this place, but my rolls were ono. Give it a try. I found the price reasonable and got lunch there regularly when I was working in the area.

HORRIBLE service! no greeting when you walk in, she doesn’t even talk the whole time taking my order, 30 mins to make a crunch donburi and gyoza. AND while a customer walks in she doesn’t greet her(customer waits for 20 mins) and worker finally decides to tell her«ran out of rice«.

Writing this review as I sit here and eat. First of all: AWFUL service. That’s actually an understatement. This chic basically takes your order and throws it at you. Add to that, super cheap cuts of fish. The large portions and price point are the reasons for the one star. This place is good for the extremely budget constrained/college student. Once you’ve graduated tho, move on up in the world and take your money elsewhere.

This is a very convenient place to go to because I live a block away. I really love sushi, that’s a food that needs to reach a certain standard. I walked in and the lady was very welcoming and took my order I got 1 Shrimp Tempura Roll and 1 Spicy Ahi Roll. The Shrimp Tempura was worth the money I paid but the Spicy Ahi was not the Spicy Ahi was really not flavored good and the peaces of ahi was really big. Other than that it is a really good place to have some good Sushi.

Love their spicy ahi salad. It had sweet onions, avocado and soy beans… It’s yumzzzz, good to call ahead and preorder the place is small. Which is okay cause u can take it to the beach or the top of saint Louis hts and enjoy the view while eating the yummy food that they have :)

Not a bad place for a quick sushi since they open late. This one has a terrible parking lot but otherwise is convenient. I ordered a dragon maki roll which was decent although they skimped on the spicy ahi. I also ordered the pork katsu which was terrible. I would stick to the sushi but don’t expect amazing things.

The place was empty, small, but also an hour before closing time. I was a bit put off by that, but we were hungry, so we stayed. Ordered a «my bento box,» and dragon roll. Super yummy and delish. The lady was real nice and generous and we didn’t have to wait long for our food.

Educational endeavors often require consumption of vast amounts of food to feed the brain. Being a Grad student at Chaminade during midterms I felt compelled for Sushi and noticed this spot down the street. It was way after lunch and the place was quiet. I ordered the Dynamite Maki and a Crab Roll. The Dyanmite would have lived up to its name if it didnt have so much sauce on it. Granted… the menu does state it comes with three sauces… but one word the chef may not be familiar with is Moderation. The crab roll left alot to be desired. I took one bite and didnt finish. Needless to say… I missed one question on my midterm. Ugh. I may have only studied for 2 hours. but my academic shortcomings fall square on their shoulders(jk). Im sure the rest of the food items are ok… I just wasn’t diggin’ what I ordered.

I bought two rolls: Ahi California maki and Spicy Ahi maki and tasted them as soon as I got home(around 15 minutes later). Both were freshly made and neatly rolled, small but a decent filling to rice ratio. Overall the taste was quite bland. I couldn’t detect any fresh flavors or even of hint of seasoning. The fish was very plain, dry, and not super fresh. The spicy ahi had some heat but no other flavor. Even a dip in soy ginger wasabi was not enough to resurrect these rolls. The final blow was that the texture was off-putting due to the coating of sesame seeds on both rolls which added no flavor, just an unpleasantly tough chew in every bite. I am bummed that I spent $ 15.

Pleasantly surprised! Sushiman has some ono tasting foods! I was hesitant grabbing a quick lunch here, but was happy when I was eating the food. I ordered the«My Bento», which was a huge slice of unagi(eel), two shrimp tempura, rice, a few pieces of edamame soy beans, tamago(egg), and ginger. The serving of unagi was more than I had anticipated. The shrimp tempura was crunchy and fun to eat. Grade: B+ I also ordered a side order(5 pieces) of cone sushi. Gotta admit that this was perhaps one of the better cone sushi that I’ve eaten in years. Was fresh and tasty, with a lot of flavor. Grade: A. Food Grade: B+ Service Grade: B/B+ Worth the Money Grade: B+ Overall Impression: B+

The salads are excellent! Servings are huge and they use a variety of high quality ingredients. Never a plain ‘ol boring salad. YUM! I’m disappointed that the size of the handrolls are no longer huge. They used to be incredibly large and really stand out but now they are just like everyone else. To me, that was my primary reason for loving this place. The food is served quickly and the quality is pretty good.

Best shrimp tempura handrolls!!! Lovely family restaurant that has a great selection of sushi garlic shrimp and many delicious fast Japanese options. Family owned and very friendly, have been coming here for years since living in the island and still absolutely love it. No trip to Oahu is complete without a stop at this sushi man!

This place is a hidden gem. My husband and I go to Kuru Kuru weekly, but we decided to go to a nearby place instead this weekend. We ordered the spicy tuna don, the dynamite roll, and I ordered a salmon cream cheese roll with avocado instead of cucumber. The spicy tuna don was pretty big, $ 9. It came with ogo and onions, unlike other spicy tunas. The dynamite roll was great. It was spicy tuna on top of a shrimp tempura roll. The spicy tuna was quite spicy — in a good way. Whenever I go to Sushi King, I order the Union Roll, which is salmon, cream cheese, and avocado($ 5). The salmon cream cheese roll here was much bigger than Sushi King’s and I got 8 pieces instead of 6. They did not skimp on the fish, either! For about $ 6.50 it was definitely worth it. We will definitely go back.(They also have bubble tea!)

After a bad experience at Sushiya near our house we needed to find something of that level(i.e. not Ninja Sushi, not Kuru Kuru) that we could call in, pick-up and take home easily. Sushiman made a fine first impression for us, the quality was top notch as you can expect, the rolls were a good size and the fish tasted as fresh as we could have expected. We tried the spicy ahi don and the dynamite maki, excellent choices that I will absolutely order again. The only issue here is parking, it sucks. My suggestion, call ahead and bring a partner with you to hop out and pick-up because I had a terrible experience with parking. Not enough to knock a star but enough to make me plan my pick-up next time.

It seems like every Sushiman has a couple of items that is featured, just for that location. If you visit the Sushiman near St. Louis Drive, you must try the Spicy Shrimp bowl. Their recipe is very similar to the Shrimp trucks on the North shore. Large size shrimp with hot sauce, chunks of fresh garlic over a bowl of sushi rice. It will save you a trip to the north shore, great portions for $ 9.99. Combining the shrimp over sushi rice, creates a unique experience for your taste buds. I love it! If you are dining in, they have only two tables, but serve your food on a bamboo tray with wasabi and gari. Nice touch!

I love the dynamite maki! this one is more spicy if you like that! but the tempura is so crunchy and good and everything is so good! They also got a «crunch» don which is perfect if you like spicy ahi bowls and you like dynamite maki. BOOMCRUNCHDON.
