I gave this place a try on their poke bowl and it was disgusting. I had the urge to throw up due to the blandness and not-so-fresh like feeling of the poke. They sliced it too big which causing the flavors to not sink in very well. Not coming back here ever again.

Meh. Just meh. I miss Taco Bell. Stir Fresh is good if you’re on campus and you’re really craving a poké bowl, and you’re so broke that you only have meal points to spend. Other than that, all the food is subpar, and below average. Even the stir fry is poorly seasoned, and you have to add a good amount of soy sauce or sriracha to make it edible.

As a first-timer for their shoyu ahi bowl, I was surprised to find that the poke was really good(after hearing bad things about it from friends). There was just enough onions to have a bite with each scoop of poke and rice. One recommendation I have for Stir Fresh is to check and change the consistency of their rice in the poke bowl. I’m not sure if this goes for all of their food, but the rice I had in my shoyu poke bowl was near hard. For the amount of poke that you get for the price, it wasn’t too bad. I’d say it was a little less than ¼ pound of poke for $ 5.99. I regularly go to Stir Fresh for their ten-don(shrimp tempura with rice), as well as the friendly customer service. Always cheerful and helpful, the employees of Stir Fresh are inviting and entice you to try the food time and time again. I’ll be back at Stir Fresh as I believe they have good portion sizes and prices in terms of on-campus food, but will likely stray away from the poke bowls my next visit!

Judging from the reviews here and my friend’s feedback on his firecracker bowl, maybe these guys should just sell their poke bowls and rename the restaurant. :) I ordered the regular sized shoyu poke bowl and I was surprised at how good it was. The fish tasted fresh and the poke seasoning was perfectly balanced. Definitely worth the $ 6 and one of the better tasting food options at Campus Center. My friend thought his firecracker bowl was«ok». «the fire was mostly in the peppers. pork largely flavorless and hastily scattered over rice». Stick to the poke bowls!

Soba wasn’t good, the items seem expensive for what you get, but the $ 4.59 poke bowl was a really good deal. The poke tasted alright, just a bit salty and then substituted brown rice for free and the staff is friendly.

This used to be the Taco Bell on campus. There are certain orders that are good, and there are certain orders for which you should run. The Korean tacos and the lumpia(I would call it more like limpia) are ones you should make like Usain Bolt and run for the hills(like Manoa Middle Ridge trail, a fantastic hike btw). However, I would suggest that the specialty bowls like the curry bowl with udon(the default is rice but for $.99 you can upgrade to udon), are quite decent. Further, the best deal there is their mini-shoyu ahi poke bowl for $ 4.99. They don’t have this at Aja upstairs at the Campus Dining Center and it packs a nice punch in a small bowl. It pretty much tastes like any other ahi poke bowl sold in markets or poke places, but I mean that in a good way. It’s a good alternative to the same old, same old upstairs.

This place is new on UH campus. They have pretty much variety of food in Chinese(stir fried meat with vegetable, Char SIu Bao, Dumbling), Japanese(Udon), Thai(Thai curry)… The best dish I have been trying is Stir-fried beef/pork in Terriyaki sauce and brown rice. On the dish has lots of vegetable: broccoli, baby corn, peas… This dish is around $ 7, not too bad. The ambiance of the place is clean, open and the color of the chairs are all green. Nice set up.

The Food: Not bad… The veggies were overlooked and slightly mushy but it had decent flavor. I should have asked for Saracha or hot sauce of some sort, that would have made this pretty stellar. The chicken was okay… It was breaded and fried previously I think. For the health conscience, it would have been nice to have a grilled option. The breaded chicken however held a lot of flavor. The Value: I ate about ¾ and was full, so for $ 7 it’s not bad at all for hitting a good portion of the food pyramid at once. The Service: There was no line & my lunch came right in time for me to catch my bus from class back to work at 1:15PM. The aunties working there are cute & older, but have the look of being quite effective an efficient. Much appreciated! Overall: This could easily be a 4 star establishment with a few changes. Keep the veggies fresh and crisp! Chicken options! Hot sauce! Do stir-fry perfectly & you’ll be set. I’ll be back. At under $ 7, with different options and quick service, it really is great for a girl on-the-go

«Stir Fresh» with chicken, garlic sauce, and brown rice: sauce was a little too sweet, and quite salty. Brown rice too loose, especially while sauced, to really eat with chopsticks. Found bone fragment in one of the few pieces of chicken. Startup stumbles? Perhaps. But at $ 6.50 for a truly mediocre meal, it doesn’t make my value cut for ordering it again. Maybe I’ll give one of their other options a try before writing them off completely, but not a good first impression.
