I absolutely abhor days that my job lands me stuck in training at Circuit Court. The food options are meh, and quite frankly, it’s one of the few times I find myself yearning for the comfort of my office with what I’m pretty sure has a blood stain on the carpet. This week after finding myself held captive for a two day training after a three day weekend, I decided not to give my whole paycheck to yet another place at Restaurant Row and decided to wander the other direction and noticed Pit Stop Food Truck parked just a few steps away. I wandered over, checked my trusty Unilocal app and saw the positive rating and decided to take my chances. Pit Stop has a pretty diverse menu for a food truck. They offer everything from hot dogs(Chicago style too), to tacos with a lot of good stuff in between. Prices are extremely reasonable, and food appears to be cooked to order based on the wait time. I ordered the lunch deal which allows you to pick three items and a drink for $ 10. I had two philly cheese steak sliders and hand cut fries with an iced tea all of which was a meager $ 10. Since the day prior I had a salad that cost me my kidney and the promise of my first born, this felt like eating off the dollar menu. The wait for my food was about ten minutes give or take, but they also have phone orders coming in, so there are likely many orders ahead of you that you don’t realize. I didn’t think it was an unreasonable amount of time to wait especially since the food was hot, fresh and clearly made to order. The fries especially were delicious. Although I don’t look forward to the next notification of a training at circuit court, I’m happy to have found a tastier place to fill my tummy. If you’re in the area and like fries or any other American staple comfort food, Pit Stop likely has something to make your tummy happy.

I so wish this truck had a regular schedule. My coworkers and I were devastated when our favorite food truck wasn’t there, so we walked a little farther down towards the Pan Am building. This blessing in disguise brought us to the Pit Stop truck, which is on Kaheka on Tuesdays and Fridays. Their menus say that they’re on punchbowl Mondays and Wednesdays, so plan accordingly. Holy cow, their menu is big. It’s amazing to me that this little truck can have so many options, and still maintain quality. I went with the meal deal, which lets you choose 3 items + a drink for $ 10. Keep in mind that any 3 items means entrees & sides, so you can get 3 sliders if you want! I got the bacon wrapped mac & cheese balls, a cheeseburger slider, and fries, with a strawberry lemonade. Do you like fried things? Do you like mac and cheese? Do yourself a favor and GETTHEMACANDCHEESEBALLS. The regular ones come with three, and the bacon-wrapped yummies come with two. I’ll be honest, the bacon was a little over-fried and burnt, so you’re probably better off getting three spheres of melt-in-your-mouth heaven. The fries looked like normal steak fries, but were seasoned and incredibly good. They were so tasty on their own, they didn’t even need ketchup. And the slider! Really really delicious! Flavorful, juicy beef with a big slice of cheese and a soft slider roll. I would get this every time if there weren’t so many other menu options to try. The only downside of this place is the wait time. Everything is made fresh, and even right after opening, the dudes inside are hard at work with phone orders. We waited about half an hour for 3 plates, so I’d recommend calling in beforehand. The volume of orders sucks for new customers, but really shows how popular this food truck is.

dont let these Unilocal administrators fool you. im a writing a legitimate review about this business that deserves to at least be posted without being removed through Unilocal shady and questionable fascist practices. the kim chee fried rice ball served with a soy sauce, wasabi, jalapeño aioli are amazing given you have the time to eat it right away, or itll lose its amazing crunch. pair that with their panko crusted chicken tenders and you have yourself a whole new level of the local bread and buttah«plate lunch». variety is the spice of life, and here you can choose from any three of a pretty wide variety of items that may not be typically found in a single meal; yet here, you can knock out multiple cravings for less than $ 10. the pesto chicken and guava bbq kalua pork slider are my top picks, and maybe the bacon wrapped macaroni and cheese balls when im feeling unstoppable. …but dont listen to the hype, just take that leap.

My favorite place to stop for food! Price is so reasonable for exceptional yummy food! I love all their sliders and their tacos. My 3 year old loves all the food here too! The best part is you even can get an iced tea with 3 items you can choose, all for $ 10. And with the Unilocal check in, you get a cookie that can’t be beat. I guess I would be in trouble if it was open everyday because I would be stopping by everyday!

This is the best food truck on the island. The food is super good and delicious. The meal deal is the best deal in the world. If I could afford it I would buy a week’s worth of food just so I could have food from here everyday I work.

This place was so good!!! Like amazingly good! For $ 20 we got 2 sodas, 3 delicious sliders… The organic cheeseburger, Khalua pig slider, and Philly cheesesteak slider, a side of fried zucchini with ranch and the Pork fries which were my absolute favorite and a must try! The fries were fresh hand cut with great seasoning, cheese, Khalua pig and a guava BBQ sauce. We’ll definitely be going back!

These are the best. They are a heart attack waiting to happen, probably, but what a way to go. They are covered in bacon, pulled pork, cheese and BBQ sauce yet the way he packs them you can still enjoy the bottom ones w/o a wetnap, no soggy fries here. Find this truck at Pan Am building Tues & Fri and in town Mon & Wed and suffer Thur, Sat & Sun

Parking: street parking The cost: $ 25/person The food: meal deal(trio of sliders cheeseburger, cheese steak, kailua bbq pork), kimchee fried ball Not sure where this food truck spends most of its day, but I found it on Kaheka in front of the Pan Am building. There were quite a few people lined up in front of it for the weekday lunch rush. My order took about 25 minutes to prepare, which may be a little too long. I tried the meal deal with the trio of sliders. The cheeseburger was way to creamy. I wasn’t sure if it was the cheese or some sort of dressing they put on it, but I felt that my cheeseburger was a little on the soggy side. The cheese steak is a great one. It is quite cute that they chop up the peppers and onions into small pieces to fit the small burger. The kailua pork slider is also a winner, although I wish it was a little more bbq-y. The kimchee fried ball was a let down. It was made a little too large. I think if they made it smaller then it may have had an interesting consistency with a familiar flavor. Instead, I kind of wished they had not made it into a ball and fried it but just served me some kimchee fried rice. I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this place, but they have certainly got my attention and I’ll return to try their other things. Overall, a nice lunch stop; be prepared for a wait. Meal deal is a nice option with your choice of sliders. The kailua pork and cheese steak were good.

I’ve seen this food truck in my neighborhood for the passed year and a half but have never seen it open. Finally today I saw it and was able to try it. The food is delicious. You can get 3 items for just $ 10 and comes with a free drink. I tried the French fries which I HIGHLY recommend, the steak taco, and a pork slider which are all delicious. I am very pleased with the food so I hope I see them open more.

Dinning experience — 3⁄5 I Tried the steak and fish tacos today. It was okay for $ 3 each. I expect to be bigger for $ 3 each. I was still hungry after it. So I went to convenient store to get hot dog. Service — 5⁄5 The service was reasonably quick. Price — 4⁄5 The price was okay but not big portion, Maybe little more meat and build up with more cabbage and salsa

Sometimes I’ll eat on a whim… No plans, No RSVP’s, No idea, just on a whim! Wherever I am, so be it! Whatever happens, happens! Que sera, sera… Today was such a day! I was downtown in the Federal building and upon leaving the building I notice a Food-truck! I notice a line of Federal, State, C&C employees and the typical vagabond! I notice that each order was made-to-order! These are good signs, so I Unilocal it and not many know about this truck because it’s well… a Food-truck! I go with my instinct knowing that 99% people that actually know food are not Unilocalers. That’s fact. I also know that government workers, in all shapes and sizes know their food. That’s fact. So, yes my instincts tell me to stand in line, wait my turn, and order my made-to-order, knowing full well I would have to wait even more. So, after the 3 people in front of me order… It’s now my turn! Yay! Of course, with a name like… PITSTOPFOODTRUCK… W/«SLIDERS» WRITTENALLOVERTHEPLACEANDMENU… I had to order the sliders! Quite a selection too! Each at $ 3, so not much of a gamble! As I mill the menu… I am informed of the«pit meal deal» which consists of 3 items, or sliders, or sides of your choice AND a FREE drink for $ 9! The choices for drinks not only included soda or water, but also the pricier $ 3 lemonade or iced tea! So, yes I went with the«pit meal deal», and order iced tea– sweetened with my 3 choices! My three choices include: –KALUAPIGSLIDER– Succulent pork with a slaw over it. The guava BBQ pork was very moist and for a slider heavily packed: B+ –CHESEBURGERSLIDER– Organic beef cooked medium with cheddar cheese melted over w/sliced pickles & grilled Maui onions: C+ –MAHIMAHISLIDER– Blackened Mahi w/homemade tartar and fresh cabbage. It was moist and not fishy: B Of the three sliders that I tried, I would say my favorite was the Kalua, but each was good in it’s own right! The iced tea was good, but not great. It was sweetened to my choice– I chose the strawberry and quite frankly it was still a tad bland. Still, not bad for homemade. For a simple Food-truck the selection was decent which included not only sliders, but also tacos, Chicago hotdogs, cut fries, homemade chips, fried Kimchee rice ball, chicken tenders, and I heard the bacon-wrapped Mac & cheese is to DIEFOR! Yup, the Aunty behind told me so– and in Aunty, in all shapes and sizes, I trust! Very interesting menu, indeed. I definitely recommend… PITSTOPFOODTRUCK! It’s very local, very friendly, very affordable, and the grub-with-a-twist is pretty yum too! It’s someplace I won’t visit every time, since I’m so unpredictable, but on my next visit I’ll make sure to try that bacon-wrapped Mac & cheese… Just remind me to grab some Rolaids! Que sera, sera… Lastly, all tips(not needed) are said to be donated to the Humane Society. Since the owners named their business after their beloved Pit-bulls! Ahh, makes perfect sense now! BIGKAHUNATIP: –Free homemade cookie with any«pit meal deal» after Unilocal check-in! Just let them know! Sadly, I forgot my cookie! OVERALLGRADE: 4.0-STARS!(SOLID) LIVEALOHA… UnilocalREVIEW # 317

Bacon. Wrapped. Mac. And. Cheese. Thats enough to seal any deal as far as I’m concerned. My co-worker turned me on to those delightful balls of flavor. When another co-worker told me that he was taking a trip to Pit Stop for lunch, I jumped at the chance to grub with him. I ordered the pork fries this time, with a mahi slider and a cheeseburger. All three items were incredible. Great flavor, great value… how can you go wrong? Here’s a pro tip though: make sure you call in your order. These guys can get busy and everything seems like its made to order, so ether call it in ahead of time, or make sure you are very patient with them.

Had the fish taco, and two sliders — Kailua pig and pesto chicken. It was a 3 for $ 9 meal deal and came with a soda. Fish taco was nice and meaty, with enough fish on the taco to know it’s a fish taco. A lot of fish tacos leave me saying, «where’s the fish?» Not this one. Sliders were good, moiety and tasty. Not quite as much burst-in-your-mouth flavor as I expected, but quite respectable. I’ll be back. Got to try that bacon-wrapped mac n’ cheese.

It’s lunchtime and you don’t know what to eat. Saimin isn’t enough to satisfy your grumbling stomach and a plate lunch is an open invitation for a «kanak attack»! That is where Pit Stop Lunch Truck can hit the spot for the lunchtime doldrums. Pit Stop Lunch Truck has a variety of eclectic and familiar menu choices. The PSLT’s speciality are the sliders. My favorites are the chicken pesto and the kalua pig sliders. These morsels are served up in a warm in a toasted bun. The portions size of the sliders are ample enough to handle that it won’t spill out from under you. The other specialty item on the PSLT’s menu are the taco selections. I tried the kalua taco ! Served in a soft shell taco with seasoned(not spicy) chicken with sprigs of cilantro. The salsa is made fresh — no mango and no pineapple… call me a purist when it comes to salsa! Muy delicioso!!! Price point: $ to $$. I recommend the meal deal where you can pick 3 items and a free drink all for $ 9.00. If you are feeling for serious grinds without the kanak attack feeling then the Pit Stop Lunch Truck is the place to go! Just look for the white and red colored lunch truck! Call for their location spots during the week! BTW, I spotted these guys on Wednesday on Punchbowl Street side nearby the Supreme Court Building & The King Kamehameha statue.
