First time here & i was underwhelmed. Free bread=house pizza bread in 2 flavors-2pc cheese n marinara, 2 pc cheese n peppers – nothing special, i could’ve made this at home with the kids Penn cove mussels app=approx. 12 very yummy black mussels cooked just right(always danger of overcooking mussels), broth was a slightly sweet tomato n basil flavor– only negative were the 2 spoiled mussel pieces n the very oily garlic bread Rigatoni bolognese=it was an ok pasta dish, pasta was a lil undercooked, not the best flavor for a restaurant, i could’ve made this dish at home Server was pleasant n efficient. I did not appreciate being sat at a table without a tablecloth. Granted it was 45 min before closing when I walked in and the restaurant had started breaking down but no excuse for shabby treatment, especially for a fine dining place. Conclusion: overpriced for what you get. So glad i scoped this place out on my own before bringing the family and wasting more money. And now that the view is gone due to new high rise, what are you really paying for?

Great service from Tommy! We Were Stuck @ Ala Moana And Decided To Get A nite cap. We got the calamari and a side of sugar snap peas. Lychee sorbet was delish!

We went to Longhis for pupus and drinks. The bartender took 10 minutes to get our drink order even though the place was not very busy. He seemed to be in a bad mood. He was attentive to other couples at the bar but not me and my partner. He seemed put out when we asked for a food menu. He didn’t come by after delivering our menu for another 15 minutes. I didn’t think anything personal about it until another woman came in and sat at the bar. I might be wrong but she may have been trans. After 20 minutes of waiting she came over to the place where we were sitting, right by the part of the bar where the wait staff go to get their drinks. She addressed him by name, Michael, asking why he hadn’t served her after 20 minutes. She was clearly upset. He said she should talk with him in the back of the restaurant, leading me to believe she also worked there. I’m not sure what was said but I heard yelling and crying. Other staff went in and he came out and returned to his duties, although he still didn’t check in with us for several minutes. Bottom line is… our service was terrible. I can’t pinpoint it to homophobia or transphobia but it sure seemed like it. I only hope that this was an anomaly and that Longhis would not tolerate inappropriate and illegal behavior from its employees.

It’s surprising that as often as I’m at Ala Moana Center, I’ve only recently dined at Longhi’s. I believe it’s because it sits facing Ala Moana Boulevard, off the mall’s main runway. It’s an open-air restaurant with a partial view of Ala Moana Beach Park. My first experience happened to be a spontaneous breakfast selection and I’m glad. There is a good selection of Eggs Benedict options of which I had the decadent Maine Lobster Benedict. Being that my physician recommended a Pescetarian diet, I use it as an excuse to have Crab & Lobster when I can! If you’re not allergic, I guarantee you’ll love it! Since I always order a sweet selection when dining out for breakfast, the Tiramisu pancakes jumped out at me. It’s a good thing I had them. On a recent visit, I was saddened when it was not included on the menu anymore. Three sponge cake layers with Espresso flavored Marscapone floating between them were presented with a crown of whipped cream. It was absolutely divine! Although they serve lunch & dinner as well, I have yet to explore the items on those menus. If you’re looking for something off-the-beaten-path at the mall, so to speak, check out Longhi’s. The entrance is between Banana Republic and the Old Navy escalators on the Mall level. Let me know what you think!

Though the owner is reputed to be somewhat of an ahole(hawaiian pronunciation ah-ho-lay, please — my contribution to local culture) this place never fails on service or comestibles. Longhi salad is one of my favorites, try the veal! Wonderful breakfast benedict choices.

Great for happy hour. Not sure you save much but we enjoyed time at the bar with a fellow Caps fan. Pizza with arugula and prosciutto was fab. Shrimp cocktail nice but even at happy Hour prices was $ 5 a shrimp. Wine was $ 6.50 not so bad for Wacky Waikiki.

We called ahead for a reservation and they told us 45 minute wait. We showed up 10 minutes before the reservation and the place was half empty(?) Apparently they did this to discourage us from ordering happy hour apps(?) It took over an hour for our food to arrive. You can imagine how happy the children in our party were. Lamb Chop ordered medium rare — came well done Pasta that one of the kids ordered — came back as a grilled cheese Lobster gnocchi — lobster undercooked Mac and cheese — sauce separated from the pasta The kicker — we split the bill: on only one bill she added that gratuity was included. Why wouldn’t you state that on both bills? No love for Kamaaina :(:(:(:(

In a span of about 8 years I’ve been here(3) times, once for breakfast, once for lunch, & once for dinner, so I think I have validity to give this place(3) stars. I love the atmosphere: arched walls and windows, two-toned ska floors & not to mention the exclusive elevator to get to the restaurant. Sadly… That’s where all the good things end. There used to be a nice view out the windows and now that is nonexistent(due to the construction surrounding the area). Food is decent and on my most recent visit, my frittata(which you can’t customize, since the ingredients are set for the day) was practically just egg. I kept digging in search of my meat & veggies until I got tired and realized it was a lost cause. I wouldn’t exactly recommend this place for the food, but Longhi’s does have good customer service, and it’s a better alternative for a meal or cocktails in a nice setting if you’re in the mall.

I wasn’t a fan of this place. My husband and I went here on a date. And this is a «splurge» date. I went here because ALL my friends recommended it. So my husband and I got dressed up and headed here. We got there and put our names in… we ended up having to wait 20 minutes for a table. Which wouldn’t be bad… if they hadn’t been seating people who came in after us. So finally we sit down. I’m feeling fancy so I order red wine. I get it in 3 minutes. My husband ordered a draft beer. It literally took them 20 minutes for him to get his beer. We went through our appetizer before he got his beer and I went through two glasses of wine. 20 minutes after our appetizer we still haven’t gotten our food and I have had two glasses of wine(I’m being a lush) and I asked the waiter for a wine menu so I could get another glass. The waiter literally asks me if I REALLY want another glass of wine! I was not drunk or acting stupid. I was enjoying the company of my man and some great wine. After assuring him I did indeed want another glass he got all huffy and left. It took them so long for them to get me wine that they accidentally brought me two glasses of wine. Finally we get our main course and it was amazing. I had the filet with mushroom risotto and my husband had a huge steak. No complaints here about the food. For dessert they had this frozen yogurt parfait which was amazing!!! By the time we were done with our food it took us two hours. For a 3 course meal. We were ignored by the staff and the waiter made me feel like an alcoholic. I think if the service wasn’t so slow it would have been better. But I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant and wish we wouldn’t have spent our money here. I won’t be back.

Summary: very good service, atmosphere, and food presentation, but mediocre flavor and food preparation. Come here for the atmosphere. Relaxing, breezy, comfortable, and calm. A good date place, to focus on your date, and conversation(not the food). Service was attentive and prompt. My water glass was topped off probably 15 times in an hour. Dont come for a flavorful, world-class experience for your palate. I tried 4 items, and all were bland and unimpressive, slightly overcooked, or simply of low quality(coffee ice cream). Yes, i will return, and be happy, but now i know what will bring me back(the atmosphere), but i may even consider eating dinner someplace else before i come for lite food here.

Traveling with an 81 year-old friend who insisted on taking me to lunch here, as she had the ‘best meal Ever’ some years ago, I can’t say I was all that impressed. Point by point: 1. Location is hard to find for someone who has never been to Ala Moana Shopping Center or, as in my case, someone who hasn’t been to the place in 20 years(!) The maps provided by Ala Moana say to ‘take the elevator to the 3rd floor.’ This proved more than challenging, and we logged a few steps trying to discover ‘which’ elevator would get us there — for none we tried would, until my friend asked in a shop and we were directed to follow a path all the way to its end — where a small sign pointed left to Longhi’s. On the left again was an elevator dedicated Just to this restaurant with its name outside the lift. 2. Once there, the place looked quite inviting with black and white checkered tile flooring and foliage-lined arched windows overlooking — well — a lot of cranes and machinery and construction, but beyond those was a small harbor(Ala Wai?) and the ocean. I found it funny that at least one other person mentioned the filthy white ceiling fans, all whirling away at top speed(and there are many of them), spreading mold and who knows what into the dining areas below. True. Filthy black mold covered every fan in sight. I can’t imagine why they don’t do some maintenance here. Very distracting. 3. My friend had Chicken Piccata, which was not at all piccata, to her mind. She liked the flavor well enough, but it was not thinly butterflied as she’s had in New York City or other places she’s been, though I don’t believe there are any hard and fast rules with this. I had a crabmeat salad on lovely local(organic?) greens, and the dressing on the greens was lovely. The crabmeat tasted good as well, and I don’t get crab that often because I’ve had it tasting ‘off.’ Not so with this. 4. Service seemed fair enough, but more apropos to the east coast, where host/ess and waitstaff tend to be stiffer and more formal than in Hawaii. Not much Aloha, but most visitors probably wouldn’t notice. Nothing to write home about, but good enough, I guess. And if they cleaned those damned ceiling fans, I’d likely be back. The thought of looking at them again as I dine does not thrill.

I have been coming here for quite a few years. I have always enjoyed it. My staple items are Chicken Parmesan and Wiamanalo salad. I have also enjoyed good tropical drinks as well. The pizza bread is great. Beware that they have a mild and a hot kind. Be sure you know what you are eating before you stick it in your mouth. The location is great but there are condos going up in front of the fantastic view. The parking is convenient. You have to ride an elevator to get up to the restaurant. Lastly, the deserts are good. They make most of not all of them from scratch that day.

the EARLY bird… …gets to spend a lovely morning having breakfast with a wonderful group of friends. I was extremely thankful to have received an invite to join fellow Unilocalers for breakfast on a recent Saturday morning. I’ve been quite busy lately working long hours at my job, and therefore I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get together with my fellow Unilocalers/friends. Also, I looked forward to trying a place I’d never been to before. It was truly a fun and memorable first visit at Longhi’s. LOCATION: Ala Moana Center in the same building as Morton’s Steakhouse. Elevator entrance facing the parking deck around the corner from Banana Republic. The restaurant is spacious and open-air with views(which are slightly blocked by the seemingly never-ending construction at the mall) of the park and ocean FOOD: I had briefly looked at the menu online, but still took some time to look over it while waiting for members of our group to arrive. The various benedicts as well as the ricotta blueberry pancakes caught my eye. In the end, I chose the Eggs Benedict. On a workday, I usually have a small portion of cereal or yogurt for breakfast, so having a full/complete breakfast was a veritable treat for me. The portion size was just right, the eggs cooked perfectly, and the toast crisp and warm. Other than wanting a tiny bit more hollandaise sauce with my dish, I was very satisfied with my choice. Some of the other dishes that were ordered by those on my table included the Italian frittata, the sunrise pasta, three egg omelet(with choice of three fresh ingredients), and the banana mac nut pancakes. NOTE: All their variations of Benedicts are served on toasted baguette bread. SERVICE: Very attentive, friendly, and patient. Our group was nearly 20, and with such a large group I must commend the staff on an incredible job and great teamwork. Multiple staff helped our table with refiling water and coffee, checking on us throughout the entire meal, and even obliging in taking a group photo. Great customer service overall. BOTTOMLINE: Delicious breakfast spent with wonderful company. Terrific customer service and teamwork by the staff.

I like this place. A place called… LONGHI’S! Imagine Hawaii in the 1920’s on a lanai overlooking Magic Island, well not quite since Magic Island is actually man-made and just not in the planning stages yet. Yet, today… the views of the parking lots, buildings, the homeless, and cranes — mechanical, not organic… cannot be denied. Yes, a very older Hawaii«laid-back» feel here at very modern Ala Moana Shopping Center. The service is pleasant, but sadly, also laid back, in a too laid back way. I can vouch for this because I’ve been here several times the past year and somehow we always get the waiter with the goatee w/pomade slicked in his hair. He’s okay as a human being, but frankly… Just hella slow in service. Mr. Bojangles he is not! On my most recent visit we ordered the Longhi’s Prime Cheeseburger($ 16 fries not included) & Lobster Dish of the Day($ 23). Plantation Iced Tea filled us. All meals come with the signature house bread — like pizza bread, but even better! The jalapeño one always seems to be the popular one, but I’m a wimp and stick to the plain;P I have been here several times, mainly for business luncheons, and once for happy hour. Never a big reason to complain, except that one waiter mentioned above(that I always seem to get) is so incredibly slow! It’s nice if I was Thurston Howell, III, with no worries in the world or meetings to attend, but since this is my business meeting spot, yes things do move in slow motion. I now request the check when I order… Sounds pushy, but it does save two hand waves & hip bump! Nonetheless, I still love coming to… LONGHI’S! I’ve always been satisfied with my meals, drinks, and the plantation mansion ambiance here. Just blessed I’m sipping iced tea & not working the fields. I have yet to try the breakfast & brunch, but that’ll change very soon. I’m looking forward to that meeting. I heard Ginger & Mary Ann would be there. Good because I’ll take either. And the Professor was really a moron, and Gilligan had a dozen briefs… Not! SOLID. Good spot for business or R&R. 4.0-STARS!

I’ve been to Longhi’s before for breakfast /brunch, but I guess I hadn’t written a review. My most recent visit was to celebrate a friend’s birthday for dinner … and although I am a fan of this restaurant, I would recommend coming here for breakfast /brunch instead. This review will reflect a bit on both of my experiences here. The restaurant is located above Morton’s at Ala Moana Center. With the addition of the new Bloomingdale’s wing and parking structure, there’s more than enough parking available nearby. While the open-air stalls are still tight, the stalls in the structure are pretty roomy. To get here, enter and drive up the ramp on Ala Moana Boulevard. After you park, head over to the mall and there’s an elevator near the valet area that will take you up to Morton’s and Longhi’s. When you arrive on the Longhi’s floor, what I remember noticing the first time I went to brunch was the open view that spans the whole length of the restaurant. This is definitely one of it’s selling points and is probably one of my favorite features. It really adds to the experience if you come during the day with the bright natural lighting, natural air flow and a beautiful view overlooking Ala Moana Beach Park. Don’t let the view distract you from checking in with the host /hostess on the left. Bathrooms will be down the hallway to the right and the bar is also on the right side. The interior is mostly white and gives a nostalgic, plantation-like feel to the place. The atmosphere is relaxed yet I also feel classy when I come here. The staff is very friendly and I think the service has improved each time I’ve come here. At dinner we had a few servers that came to check in on our party often and we always had full glasses of water. They were also very good sports, offering to take group photos for us, and even jumped in a #selfie shot. The dinner menu is pretty extensive and includes quite a bit of seafood dishes. Most of us ordered the Lobster or Shrimp Risotto($ 30). It was delicious and they didn’t skimp on the lobster, but it was a bit rich for my taste. I much prefer the breakfast /lunch menu :) Since it was our friend’s birthday, they did give us a comp red velvet roll cake, nothing super mind-blowing, but it was a nice touch to the end of the evening. Overall, this is a good place to come if you’re looking for someplace that is nice, reasonably priced, and has decent food. I’ve always come with a larger group of people and the place seems to be able to accommodate our larger parties. I’m sure we’ll be back here again for another ladies get together in the future! :)

What’s better than riding an elevator up into an open-air restaurant for a classy and sophisticated happy hour? The prices are right– delicious and authentic pupus(I recommend the calamari), $ 5 martinis and glasses of cava, and an ambiance that’s perfect for unwinding from your day. Nearby restaurant tables filled up quickly, and the sun set just in time for another round, or the check and a trip around Ewa wing.

We had a friend who lived in the Honolulu area recommend we check out Longhi’s at Sunset for the view so we came here on our last day on the Island. The food was good, the view was not. We made a reservation online through Open Table(Yay!) but ended up sitting in the bar area for Happy Hour. Their happy hour specials were great, a nice variety of drink specials including mixed drinks, wine, and beer as well as more than a dozen food options to choose from. Service was rocky at first, but other servers and the bartender checked on our table and helped out their fellow server who was in the weeds. I ordered the small Longhi Longhi salad, which is a cross between a caesar and a greek salad and it was just ok. I also ordered the shrimp cocktail which was 2JUMBO shrimps and was happy with that. The Boy ordered the Ahi appetizer and loved it but the Fish and Chips was just ok. Not sure on the type of fish they used but it was mushy and was over powered by the batter. Dont get me wrong, the batter was delish, the fish was not dense enough to stand up to it. The whole reason we came here, the view, was ruined. The Mall is building a new parking garage so the view is pretty much gone. Pave paradise…

Longhi’s is a wonderful place for breakfast! It has a beautiful scenic view(for now, amid all the construction) and is relatively empty in the morning so you can have some real nice conversation over a delicious meal. I had the lobster benedict which was very tasty, but so rich I couldn’t finish even half. That’s okay because I had also ordered the grand marnier French toast. Turns out it sounded much better than it was. Still, I left with a very full tummy and refreshed from the restaurant’s relaxing and breezy ambience. Definitely recommend having breakfast here.
