Well if you decided to come here. You may think what. But what a great choice to have come here! One thing I’ve got to say are great customer service, menu is straight forward, and comes out fast. After that big hike up Diamond Head which may be 10 minutes from there was a blessing cause one after that cardio workout you want something to eat which is light and cold! What I ordered was in a papaya with acai and let me tell you that it was AMAZING! I would recommend people to come here to give it a try even if you don’t go and hike at Diamond Head!

Parking was a bit of a challenge but other than that, everything was perfect !!! Staff was super friends and welcoming. The price was so worth it and the time they take to give you the food was really fast. Couldn’t imagine a better fast eatery that could top this after a day at the beach !

I like to go the this food truck after a morning beach trip. I’ve been here a couple times now and I’ve never been disappointed. I especially love their Lilikoi flavor! The employees are always friendly and easy to talk to. There is limited parking, but you can park on the street. They also have the cutest table set-ups. It’s a really nice out-doors place to eat.

Stopped by this cute little food truck after hiking the Diamond Head trail and it was so refreshing and tasty! A little pricy but it was so fresh tasting and the papaya bowl was adorable.

Was walking around town and found this place. Definitely a good choice. For real, they’ve found a way to create the most bomb dessert made out of fruit I’ve ever had. We got the«Amazon Papaya Boat;» A thick papaya halved, with a generous portion of acai smoothie on top, and topped with banana, granola, and honey. Most of their options seem just like slight variations of each other, but that doesn’t bother me too much because the one we had was awesome. I think we paid like 8 bucks but the portions was really big; enough for two people to share, so I can’t complain about that. What I really liked was that even though this place is a food truck, they’ve got plenty of seats and tables set up so you can just eat there in the shade. I’d totally recommend this place to anyone.

I decided, on a whim, to check this place out. It’s down the street from my place and I’ve heard great things about them. My experience was quite eventful to say the least. The sun was bright and I was ready to indulge. Just as we were about to order it poured… I mean poured. Service — GREAT! The guy taking orders was awesome. Instead of having us stand in the rain, he offered to run back and forth to the tent to take our order and payment.(Thank you so much for that!) The wait was short, and I was able to get my MASON jar! Pricing and what I ordered — Also, good. What I expected, not pricey, and the quality of what I got was sooo delicious. I ordered«The Amazon» in the mason jar, and enjoyed every bit. It was layered with bananas, coconut chips, granola, and honey. Need I say more?! Menu — I thought they had a good variety of different flavors to choose from(matcha, acai, green, banana), different sizes(cup, bowl, papaya or mason jar), and you were able to customize it with different toppings. I will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu. Great experience even with the rain. Lol!

My friend and I made a quick pit stop here to enjoy a their daily special(matcha) and classic item stairway to heaven. The matcha was not like the usual matcha flavor since it wasn’t as sweet but it was still pretty good. I prefer the stairway to heaven more. Oh the mint and the ginger. What a strange but delectable combo. Although the froyo bowl isn’t as tasty, I still dig the place! They have the coolest outdoor seating with umbrellas and wooden seats with cushions. It’s that feeling when you tear off those adult shoes and put on them slippers along with that fedora hat. For my friends that know my outfit, I don’t wear a fedora hat, so I’m gonna stop acting like I have one. But if I had one, this would be the perfect time to wear it. Or Imagine that feeling when you’re on a hammoc on a clear blue day. NAPTIME! But I would definitely come back! Be sure to order the bowl instead of the smallest cup. For $ 2 more, you’ll get your fill of a sufficient sweet escape.

I’ve driven by here a million times and finally stopped to try. I’m so glad I did because I loved it! I got the smallest bowl thinking it would be a dainty portion, but they really piled it on so I was very pleased!!! I tried the greens flavor and I loved it. It had a nice veggie flavor and wasn’t very sweet so I didn’t feel guilty at all eating it. Service was friendly. I’ll definitely be back!

Finally had a chance to check out this place! They have there own lot next Coffee bean & tea leaf on Monsarrat ave. with a a little more than a few parking stalls. It has an island-y feel with wooden benches, tables, and a cute area to shade you from the sun. Carissa Moore Special~ I tried one there original creations: banana and acai swirl yogurt. It had a very natural flavor and slight amount of sweetness to it; not overpowering. What made it as good as it is were all the toppings: strawberries, pineapples, coconut, toasted quinoa, and granola. A nice and refreshing treat on a hot & sunny day. I’ve already been here twice in the last week because I enjoyed it so much the first time. It’s good for a light snack/meal, especially if you’re trying to stay away from a heavy meal.

My family and I love coming to Banan! I love the papaya boats! The toppings are awesome, especially the crispy quinoa! Wish they could carry the lilikoi flavor more often. He prices are comparable to other places. They now have stamp card for ur purchases but I wish they would get their act together about how the stamp card works! Each employee has different interpretations of how the card should be stamped. Also they ran out on the cards so we totally lost out on our last purchase. :(despite this little quirk we still love eating at Banan.

A great place to go to for a healthy dessert. They have four different flavors and I got the Acai banan. This place is a little pricey but every now and then it’s a good treat. I love the truck and the sitting area though! It’s so cute and cozy. The workers are super sweet too so this place definitely gets 5 stars

I decided to try this place with my sister after taking a trip to the aquarium. It was about a 15 min walk away and it was a pretty hot walk so it was nice to treat ourselves to something cold. I ordered the amazon bowl, which was $ 9. Pretty good price considering how big it was and also because they actually put extra granola under the acai! The girl who took my order was nice and apologized for the wait, even though I felt personally the wait wasn’t that long. Surprisingly there wasn’t that much people today since most schools are out on spring break. Really cute seating area! Might get too hot/humid though. The wait felt not too long, probably 5 – 8 mins. The girl who took my order also came out to give us our order. The Amazon was absolutely refreshing and delicious! Can’t wait for my next visit here!

Been wanting to try this place for ages; it’s all just so beautiful! I got a half regular half green banan in a cup with strawberries. Looks small for $ 7 but the banan is thick and is actually very filling. It was pretty good despite me not liking banana that much. Husband got the papaya boat with Acai banan; he loved it! They don’t have water and the banan makes you thirsty, but luckily coffee bean is next door.

I took advantage of being in the neighborhood and finally got to try this place after seeing it advertised on social media. I disagree when people say that pictures do no justice when it comes to food and what not, especially in this case. I was a little disappointed. I was expecting more of an acai bowl rather than a cup of sorbet. I’m not gonna lie it was refreshing after a hot day of hiking. My friend ordered the special of the day, which was lilikoi and I got the other special of the day, which was a swirl of acai and banana. What I liked most was that there was fruit all throughout the bowl, not just on top or the bottom, but there was another layer in the middle of the sorbet with fruit. I decided to splurge a little and got the bowl(which I was not able to finish) and the crunchy quinoa as an added topping. I didn’t care too much for the sorbet, I much rather would have an original acai bowl else where. But it was worth a try. Parking may not always be in your favor depending on your timing and time of day you choose to go. They are located in the same lot as coffee bean and tea on monsarrat near diamond head. There is a cute little seating area with even cuter seats.

so me being an idiot, I didn’t realize banán stood for everything being made with bananas… I thought it meant something in a different language: x I also didn’t notice that, that little accent mark in their name is a banana until after I saw it on the cup I was eating out of. i’m allergic to bananas lmao. I was fine though, my mouth just got itchy. that being said my acai cup literally just tasted like bananas. it was kinda confusing. it was acai colored but just tasted like banana. not what I was hoping for. I ordered it with pineapples, honey, and granola. however, when I got my order, there was quinoa on it instead of granola. and my friend ordered papaya on hers, but got pineapple instead. it’s not that big of a deal because all the toppings were yummy, but the workers should be more careful to give the customers exactly what they asked for. the seating area was very nice and cool. I loved that they provided some adult coloring books and color pencils! all in all, it’s a cute place and I appreciate all they do with the fresh and organic products. i’m not sure if I’ll be back but I would recommend it to those who love bananas!

You must try this… Sinful with a moral cause! These crazy people have turned frozen banana mixed with other healthy ingredients(veggies, fruits… Quinoa too) into a ice cream alternative… Farm to Banan and then the waste goes back to farm and repeats… Love it(then wash it down with a cold pressed juice down the street)

First time here because I’m always worried about parking. There’s a tiny lot that fits about 6 – 7 cars. Came around 11am on a work day and scored great parking! The service is great! Guy took the time to answer my questions. I also watched him patiently explain their menu options to a young mom pushing a stroller. So friendly! I would come backed just based on their awesome customer service! I ordered the stairway to heaven. Oh my! So much healthy goodness! Loved it! I was bit disappointed that they didn’t have papaya boats but, hey, I guess I gotta come back then! Love their cute, clean seating and their recycling and trash bins. My new fave place!

it’s my «pit stop» during my bike ride. definitely my guilty pleasure remedy that I can have my frozen sweet treat and still feel healthy after my exercise. the green bowl is something unique there. it’s made of kale, spirulina, ginger, and mint. very refreshing. i also love the crispy quinoa. the set up is really cute. It’s comfortable chilling and enjoying your acai bowl.

My favorite food truck in Hawaii! The customer service is only matched by the delicious banana based frozen treats that they serve. Whenever I go to Banan I find a bunch of smiling people and they always have fun tunes playing. Oh and they also have some pretty interesting books out that you can read while you sit and eat(my personal favorite place to eat is on the Naughty Bench :). Oh and I almost forgot to mention that the Banan boys are super cute too, I call them my sexy health food crusaders ;)

This is a fun place to go to if you are in the outer Waikiki area. The prices are a little higher but whats better than getting something cold and sitting under the cabana type setting on a beautiful hawaiian day? Priceless! Make sure you ask for the papaya as the pineapples are usually not very sweet. I recommend the stairway to heaven or the original. Remember that if you dont like coconut, you better tell them first because they sprinkle a lot of it as a topping.

Sadly my stars have to go down for banan. Went there recently and got a cup of the green banan. Nice service, but when I got my cup I had a handful of cotton dust fibers on top :(I picked them off and started eating anyways. Then when I finished the top part of my swirl, low and behold the inside of my cup was empty! They dispensed the banan soft serve around the edge of the cup so it looked like it was full, but the entire inside was empty. Made me sad because I paid for a whole cup of it. On top of that it was dirty. Ah well, maybe quality going down like other businesses :(

I’ve wanted to try this for awhile and we finally got the chance. I selected the original. Some thoughts: It was a bummer to be charged 1.00 to substitute strawberry for papaya. Seemed pricey for a substitution. The crispy quinoa was great. The coconut, honey & pineapple made the dish too sweet for both my sister and I, but that is just my taste. I should’ve started with something more plain. I wish they had a kids size. The presentation is appealing. The outdoor seating is nice. If I go back, I will get something mild, like one flavor with one topping. Worth checking out for yourself. All about the healthy alternatives.

This was the perfect treat after hiking Diamond Head. I ambitiously walked to DH from Waikiki, climbed up and down, and then walked back. I wanted a treat but I didn’t want anything that would feel like counteracting my hike. I had read about this place on a random person’s blog so I was really happy to stumble upon this place. I got the original, which was the banana with various toppings. I loved the shredded coconut, honey, and crispy quinoa combo. It was light, healthy, and tasted like heaven on a sunny day after a good workout.

Banan, you the real MVP. You singlehandedly were the one that motivated and inspired me. You pushed me to hurry my butt up as I endured a walk around Diamond Head with the pre-husband with the endpoint being glorious you, Banan. With 30 minutes before you closed, I was trying to beat the clock. Speed walking my way to you lead me to a newfound appreciation to frozen bananas and help me to find a new great alternative to my acai bowl cravings. The Banan original bowl consists of a banana ice cream made out of entirely banana. So I should say that it’s more like a sherbert but with a thicker, creamier texture. The sign states, «No dairy. No added sugar. It’s just bananas!» Makes me feel a wee bit better that my motivation to walk so darn fast was a healthy one. Anyways, back to the Banan. The original has pineapple, crisped quinoa, and usually contains papaya(though they were out the days I went). If that got you bummed out, they also have it topped with honey and coconut shavings(yums!) 9 bucks(no tax) for a pretty decent, hearty amount of glorious banan goodness and toppings. I liked that there was another layer of coconut, quinoa and honey as I ate through it. Will definitely seek out this place more, it’s definitely quite popular(I say this as I wait in line for the second time in my Banan history).

Decided to go for an acai bowl back in September with the gf. We just hiked Koko Head and decided get something refreshing. I brought her to the Monsarrat area because there are a few acai places around. So glad she suggested Banan! We both ordered papaya boats(I think one was called an Amazon boat). The difference between our boats was the fruits. Mine had the bananas(essential ingredient to any acai bowl/boat)! Both tasted really good though! The acai was perfect and the fruits were sweet and fresh! I was being conservative in eating my toppings with the acai until I discovered that they put more toppings inside of the papaya too! That was a huge bonus! I definitely want to get another boat when I’m in the area again. We didn’t park in the lot with the Banan truck(it’s small) and found street parking nearby instead. We didn’t have to wait long between ordering and receiving our boats although they were busy. They have a shaded bench area across from the truck where you can enjoy your acai. Banan is definitely worth a try and coming back to!

GREAT alternative to my beloved Pinkberry based out of California aka the Original tart frozen yogurt(the one and only franchise here in Oahu is at HNL airport! Wahhh!). I first discovered the Banan food truck during the 2015 Honolulu Marathon, which was located on the return stretch of Hawaii Kai. I was dying for some drinking water, which was nowhere in sight. Suddenly, this oasis of free mini cups of «something frozen» appeared and my mouth began to water. My arm extended to grab one, but other runners were faster than me. The tray was wiped clean. Gahh! Really?! I was so looking forward to sampling the treat. Fast forward 3 weeks and we find ourselves near Monsarrat Ave. My mouth began to drool once again as soon as I spotted the truck. It is situated in a small parking lot, with about 6 parking spaces and a nice open seating area to enjoy your treat while basking under the Hawaiian sun. The menu. At Banan, they turn bananas(hence the name) and other island grown ingredients into a frozen fruit soft serve. Sizes are cup, papaya fruit boat, and bowl. Choose from one of their daily creations or make your own. I ended up ordering«Stairway to Heaven» in a cup for $ 6. It is made up of banana Greens(Kale, Spirulina, Ginger, & Mint) soft-serve topped with sliced banana, pineapple, shaved coconut, and granola(they were out of papaya today). OMG. It was REFRESHING, HEALTHY, &DELICIOUS!!! It was a nice hint of kale as opposed to a mouthful of «greens.» In addition to using local grown ingredients, I also love that they are environmentally friendly. They have a rubbish bin that also includes compost materials. I’ll definitely be back to try the other creations. Great location, too! Perfect for those exercising around Diamond Head. 01.03.2016

This is an adorable little food truck that seems to be permanently located at this location by Diamondhead. It’s a great place to for breakfast, before hikes /the beach, and after hikes /the beach. Locals and tourists alike love it. The bowls themselves are a bit pricey, with the small size being $ 6. They also have papaya boats(which sadly ran out when I was there), and large sizes. I had the special of the day and added bee pollen. It was an acai banana swirl with coconut flakes, granola, pineapple and banana, and it was amazing. Not too sweet, but sweet enough. It was perfectly creamy and the presentation was wonderful as well. I wanted to try some of the more unique flavors like the local greens(kale, spirulina, ginger, mint) or the orange-colored one with turmeric, but chickened out. If I ever go back, I’ll definitely try them, but acai seems to be the generalized favorite. There’s also seating here and a small parking lot, so it’s a nice place to hang out if the weather’s nice.

Oh the choices on Monsarat! If you’re looking for hippie food that’s the street to head for. The guys here are super cool and pride on the flavors they create such as the cilantro/mint. Pretty idea with serving the Acai sorbet in a papaya but mechanically it’s difficult to keep it in the bowl with the crisped quinoa, coconut shaves, sliced bananas and pineapples. If you have not Banan you must try next time you are in the Diamond head area.

I’ve been to Banan several times and I think it’s great! Not only are their boats super photogenic for all us social media lovers, but it tastes good too! They do not skimp on toppings which I really appreciate, so there’s a lot of honey, toasted coconut, and granola to go around. And if you feel like adding more toppings like fruits, be prepared for a whole lot going on and a slight struggle to eat without making a mess! They added a lot more seating area and I love the location and atmosphere. It’s really nice that they bring you your bowls or boats to you even if you’re sitting, and this is the perfect snack after a day at the beach or a long hike! They usually have specials of the day or seasonal toppings, such as mango in the summer!

Finally! It has taken me months to finally make it out here, and I am so happy that I did. Banan is located in Kaimuki, up the street from the Zoo, next to Coffee Bean. It’s a food truck, sitting in an open lot. There are a few parking stalls in there, otherwise there is street parking available. Hope you’re good at parallel parking! There are a few outdoor seating spots — with patio type furniture. It’s very relaxing and great for people watching while you enjoy your cup/bowl of deliciousness. I ordered The Amazon, off of my sister’s recommendation. And Banan definitely did not disappoint. It was smooth and creamy, unlike other Acai bowls I’ve had before. So I take back what I’ve said before about all acai bowls tasting the same: not all acai bowls are the same. Banan proved me wrong. You can opt for a menu item in which suggested topping selections have been carefully crafted for you. Or you can create your own. And most importantly — they are very reasonably priced. I’m new to this game so I let the experts make their suggestions for me. I’d definitely come back if I’m ever back in this area of the island. Enjoy!

I came here with two of my friends because we’ve heard about it on Instagram so we wanted to see what they hype was all about. Their ice cream was pretty good and it’s good for anyone who is a health freak(since it’s ice-cream made from bananas) but it was a little pricey and to me, there wasn’t much flavor. Maybe it was just the flavor I chose, but I“m wiling to go back and try other flavors. The acai one looks good. Other than that, it’s a cute little truck and if you’re looking for a cold snack after a hike or after the beach, Banan Bowls is a quick pitstop to get some healthy snacks!

Tried it out for the first time and I love it. The fact that it’s dairy free is awesome and I love how it started with a truck and expanded to having seats. If you havent gone here, I say go. The guy who owns it is really nice and you can tell he put alot of love in his banan. Plus you get a great view of diamond head. Winning!

As someone with a rocky history with dairy, it was such a relief to see a place with banana ice cream! My best friend took me here(a fellow lactose intolerant gal) on a hot day, which was perfect. I opted for the acai in a papaya boat, because it’d been a solid 8 months on the mainland without it. The flavor is incredibly delicious and served with fresh fruit. The different tastes, bitter and sweet, create a blissful fusion of island tastes. The area is a bustling part of Honolulu, with eateries like Diamond Head Bakery and Health Bar close by. It’s nestled in a small little niche just outside of Waikiki with other renowned establishments but can definitely survive the locals’ standards. Overall, I’d say Banan has entered a whole new realm of desserts, creating a delicious vegan option to ice cream that cools you down on a hot Hawaii day, but doesn’t way you down with sugar and cream.
