Best acai bowls on the island. Period. When you pull up the Health Bar you are greeted with a parking lot that is pretty small for the small plaza with about seven shops. Nevertheless, you may get lucky and get a spot; if you don’t, no biggie, just pull around to the side of the plaza and park on the street. Walking into the Health Bar you are greeted by a relaxed environment(the place was made as a post-surfing surfer’s paradise), friendly staff, good music, and compact but diverse menu of food, drinks, and, of course, acai bowls. The name of the Health Bar is reflective of its menu; things full of ingredients that will make your body happy. As I said, you can’t go wrong with the any of the acai bowls; however, I would probably go with Da Cove Bowl($ 5) or the Mana Bowl(~$ 10), a small and large version of more or less of the same acai bowl. It comes with acai smoothie, granola, bananas, to-die-for honey, strawberries, and blueberries and bee pollen(on the Mana Bowl). I really can’t put to words how delicious these are; I will say I come to this place about three times a week, so I’ll let my actions speak for me. I would strongly recommend ordering it to eat in. The rest of the menu is pretty diverse, pick and choose to what your taste buds are desiring, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The first half of the week they are open until 11pm, with the latter half of the week closing at 7pm; the kitchen shuts down an hour before closing. Some nights they have local artists come in and play live music, an encouraging environment for a glass full of Kava($ 5 for a small cup and $ 10 for a large) or to just kick it and relax. They recently came out with a new menu so if you haven’t been in a while, go check it out. Personally, I think it is a lot easier to read and less intimidating. Check this place out, you really won’t regret it.

Without a doubt, this is still my favorite spot to satisfy an acai bowl craving. I thought so when I first started getting into acai bowls many years ago. I still think so many acai bowls later both here and at other establishments. What’s so great about the acai bowl here? I would have to say the honey and granola are what set this acai bowl apart from all others I have eaten. I always get Da Cove Bowl(acai, bananas, strawberry, granola, and honey). The granola is soo soo crunchy, which I absolutely love. Granola any other way should just not be done. The honey is thick and gooey — don’t worry, not in a disgusting way at all. Because it is so ooey gooey thick, you can really appreciate the deliciously sweet honey taste and how it complements the rest of the ingredients rather than the honey just melting and disappearing into the mix without a trace that it was ever even there. Aside from this, good acai taste, fresh fruits — what you would expect of a quality acai bowl. I would NOT recommend take out even though it’s an option. I’m not sure if the proportion of ingredients is different in the to go cup or if it’s from even the slightest melting of the acai, but I did not enjoy the acai bowl nearly as much the one time I had the to go cup. Never again will I do take out! Pricing is fair under $ 8 for Da Cove Bowl. I appreciate how the honey is included in the price versus an add on. Seating can be an issue as there is always a steady flow of customers into the store. However, the stream to leave is also fairly steady, so I’ve rarely had a problem finding a seat by the time I actually had my acai bowl in hand. Definitely worth a try whether you’re a local who has acai all the time or a tourist wanting to taste what Hawaii has to offer!

This is the best place for acai bowls! There was a long line when I went but it’s well worth the wait. I got the Mana bowl which is a large acai bowl with granola, bananas, blueberry, strawberries and bee pollen. The bee pollen added the perfect amount of sweetness. I could seriously eat these all day and it’s perfect after a hike!

My friend used to live around this area, so we walked from her apartment here for dinner one night. I’m not too familiar with this side of town, but I had been to Pioneer Saloon before. Diamond Head Cove Health Bar was right across the way, in a small plaza. It turned out to be a good thing that we walked, since parking is limited – there’s a small lot, but it’s shared with a decent amount of businesses so parking can be scarce. The interior of Diamond Head Cove Health Bar isn’t that big, but it’s perfect for groups of two or three if you want to dine in. Since my friend didn’t live too far, we figured we would get take-out and eat at her place. Diamond Head Cove Health Bar is known for their acai bowls, smoothies and healthier fare. My friend went with one of the smoothies, while I got a drink and wrap. Since they weren’t too crowded, it didn’t take too long for our orders to be ready. There were only two girls working at the time, but they seemed to enjoy their jobs and were more than willing to answer any of my questions. I thought some of the food items were a little on the pricy side, considering portion size, but I would definitely try one of their smoothies if I ever revisited this bar again. Here’s what we got: «The Wrap»: This wrap came with veggies, hummus, spinach and carrots. I thought of it as a salad in a tortilla. I normally don’t like carrots, but figured it was just part of the salad mix so I just endured for the sake of the wrap. I got a spinach tortilla and the best part about the wrap was the hummus. It included a good amount for flavor, and I devoured my wrap in just minutes. There’s also a good mix of veggies in there, but it’s on the lighter side so you don’t feel overly full when you’re done. «Acai Berry Smoothie»: My friend had gotten the acai smoothie before and said it’s one of her favorite, so she opted for that for dinner. It included ac

This used to be my favorite acai on the entire island. But I think the demand has influenced the quality. I keep going back but I think today was my last time. I ordered the Hawaiian bowl because I love pa’i’ai. I got the bowl and it tasted like petroleum or smoke. I ate around the pa’i’ai. Pretty disappointed in what this has become and the shitty attitude when I told the girl working that the pa’i’ai was off, she said yea tastes like smoke right??? Ok so why sell it to me, and then why after hearing me say that would you not offer compensation. I’m done with this place, lame.

Prior to our Diamond Head hike we stopped for some quick breakfast on-the-go! I ordered the acai bowl which was refreshing! This on-the-go breakfast was a bit pricey for what it is but after I devoured it prior to the hike I stand behind why it is pricey. Recommended for a quick bite, when I arrived barely any place to sit, gets very busy.

I used to really love the acai bowl at Diamond Head Cove Health Bar, I still do, but they used to make the blend to order and now they premake it so it’s sometimes melted by the time it’s served. I love the pa’i’ai on the Hawaiian, it balances the sweetness and I also ask for no extra honey on top. For other items, the Fish Salad is fresh and tasty, so are their juices. Try the Respect the Roots if you want a strong tasting juice or the Cool Off for something lighter. If you want to check them out, parking is really hard in this area and it’s cash only. You have to have patience and dedication to eat here during peak hours, but once you step inside there’s a casual North Shore vibe and an acai bowl waiting for you.

I normally like this place. Today I went and got the cove bowl, looks like they were really lacking toppings today or something… When I asked how big the Hawaiian bowl is the girl said, «I don’t know. I don’t have a picture.» OOOK thanks for the help Sub par. Don’t think I’ll come again which is such a bummer.

This place got us hooked to Acai bowls during the rest of our Hawaii honeymoon. The folks who work here emanate positive energy.(I’m not a yogi but hey, when in Hawaii…). Get the large. It comes with more and you won’t regret it. The blend of fruit, granola(very fresh), and bee pollen gave the smooth, creamy frozen Acai an enhanced texture. You’ll be semi full after. Wish NYC had Acai bowls parfait instead of yogurt…

Take a walk on the flavourful side. The Mana acai bowl here is powerful, delightful and sprinkled with Bea Pollen. It’s the standard for all other Acai bowls. The girls who work here are cute and bright. They make your day, every day. I can’t wait again for my next jaunt up Diamond Head to come down the hill to the Mana Acai Bowl and perhaps a wrap. One of the best spots on the island. love, love, love. g

If you’re looking to get a fresh made açai bowl with fresh and cut ingredients, look no further than here. It’s a brisk 10 to 15 minute walk from Waikiki Beach and I think it’s the most popular and best tasting açai bowl! You can easily split one between two people, I see lots of people trying to finish them and just dump the unfinished bowl, get the Hawaiian it has everything in it and it’s large enough to split. I never noticed before but they also make omelettes and other breakfast, lunch items as well and it looks pretty good and freshly made! There’s usually a line and it’s a little noisy in there, but it’s worth it. The picture of the surfing dog on the wall is Vincent, the dog from lost so all you Lost Fans, you got to go check it out at least for that !

The first visit was to see how their acai bowls were. The second visit wasn’t even to see if I liked it. I was already craving! I don’t know what it is, the granola, the acai, or maybe the honey; whatever it is, I can’t go back to other acai places I’ve visited. *sigh* Parking in the center is very limited. Depending on the day and a time, you may get lucky with a stall or find street parking nearby. Both visits were on a Monday; during the day, if there’s a line already forming on the road, start looking for street parking. During the evening, it’s not as crowded so there were a few stalls already open. Oh try to remember that it’s CASHONLY. If not, there’s an ATM in the shop but I’ve seen it not work. There’s also an ATM in the pantry at the end(by the elementary school). It’s a small shop and the line can get long though I haven’t seen it go outside yet. When the line gets long, and just about every table is full, moving through can become difficult. Both times I’ve ordered the«Da Cove Bowl». It comes in small only. The second I wanted to try something different, but the other items listed didn’t appeal to me and wasn’t recommended. Da Cove Bowl: || So good, yet so simple. Acai topped with strawberries; organic granola, banana and honey; for about $ 9.00. Our orders also came out at a timely manner. The first time we went though, my friend noticed that there were less strawberries. I guess that depends on their inventory for the day. Whether it’s for there or to go, there are tables and chairs inside and outside. The outdoor tables weren’t as clean looking, just have something to wipe down with or use as a placemat. There are rolls of napkins, and spoons on their counter with the bananas. If you chose to have the acai bowl there, there’s a container near the front of the shop to put the dirty dishes in. Aside from acai bowls, they have other items on their menu, but so far, I only have eyes for that bowl. ;) Just thinking about it, makes me want another one.

Health Bar is my favorite place to get acai bowls! They’re always pretty busy and parking can be a little crowded and tight, but it’s the perfect snack after a long hike or day at the beach. My boyfriend and I get the Mana bowl because it’s the perfect size to share for two. Getting extra honey is necessary for all you honey lovers because it really makes a big difference in the taste! I love the acai here because it’s not watery or icey like a lot of places-it’s a thicker texture and also creamy. There’s so many great places to eat on Monserrat Avenue, so make your choice and stop by Health Bar if you want a great snack or meal!

I’ve had Diamond Head Cove Health Bar bookmarked since my last Oahu trip. One thing I look forward to in Hawaii is a really good acai bowl. The acai trend is starting to hit California but not enough to satisfy my cravings. So I was pretty excited that we were able to fit this into our schedule. It’s a small hole in the wall type establishment with limited parking. Very home-style feel with the décor and ambiance and the real plates that your food is served on. I think I have the same plates at my parent’s home. There are three acai bowl options: –Da Cove(small): granola, strawberries, bananas, honey –Mana(large): everything in the small + blueberries, honey and bee pollen –Hawaiian: everything in the large + pai ai(I’m not too sure what it is but was told it is similar to poi/taro) They also have a Lava bowl with pitaya(dragonfruit) and a Hapa bowl which is ½ acai and ½ pitaya. I was intrigued by the pitaya since I had never tried it before. There were a lot of things to like here. I ended up getting the Hapa bowl because why choose between acai and pitaya when you could have the best of both worlds? I liked the pitaya a lot! So much so, I would come back and get the lava bowl. I would compare it to the taste of prickly pear – another uncommon fruit, but the only taste I can relate it to. The fruit atop the bowl was very fresh. The honey and bee pollen add a beautiful sweet touch as well. Pricing is typical for an acai bowl: $$ …but it’s worth it. What better way to suit up for a hike or wind down from a hike in Hawaii than with your belly full of delicious and healthy breakfast?!

I freakin love this place!!! If u want the best acai bowls in town then this is the spot to go to. The honey they put in this acai bowls is like crack. The other dishes on the menu are just as amazing like their seared ahi tuna and their Loco moco. If u come to hawaii, you have to put this on ur must to do list. You will thank me later.

So, SOOO good! This will forever be a must get for me whenever I come back to visit. I’ve never really discovered acai bowls until my trip to Hawaii last week. I use Unilocal to plan out my eats and figured, with the high ratings, its worth a try. We stopped by for a cool down snack after our morning hike to Diamond Head last Monday. Parking lot is small so we weren’t able to find parking in the lot itself. No big deal because there was parking on the residential streets. We tried the Da Cove Acai bowl which was delish! It comes as a small with strawberries, bananas, honey and granola. Although a small, it was more than enough to be shared among the two of us. They were extremely generous with the toppings compared to the other spot we tried earlier in our trip. Workers here were EXTREMELY nice! Super quick getting our food and drinks to us. Acknowledged us when we came in and when we left. We came back a second time the night before our trip ended and I was really surprised one of the workers recognized me. They had a live music session that night which I thought was pretty cool. Seems like a spot where young locals hang out.

If you’re in Hawaii in general, it is a must to order an acai bowl; however, I highly recommend ordering an acai or pitaya bowl at Diamond Head Cove Health Bar when you’re in Honolulu. Pros Acai: the acai here was delicious and I love how the acai berries were blended well enough where you do not taste chunks of ice. Pitaya: my personal favorite was the pitaya since it was more on the sour side and you experience the actual taste of dragon fruit in each bite. Toppings: The servers were very generous with the amount of fresh toppings that is used in each bowl. Service: the ladies working behind the counters were super friendly and even apologetic about the wait times.

7 days. 7 days is all I had in beautiful, beautiful Oahu. That means eat at all the hype places, and expand your horizon right? I tried! I swear, I tried to go to different places for breakfast/brunch. I had those guava chiffon pancakes, pancakes with lilikoi sauce, loco mocos, I even had malasadas. BUT I CAMEHERELIKE, 3TIMES while I was on vacation. That’s some chemistry right there. I LOVE their acai bowls, no joke. I’d marry them. If you were to ask me, «Dani, if you had to choose, what would you want to eat for breakfast for the rest of your life?» I’d say, enthusiastically, «I’D WANTDIAMONDHEADCOVEHEALTHBARMANAACAIBOWLS.»

This review is mainly for their Acai bowl. I’ve been here a few times before to eat their acai bowls. However, I wanted to return to this spot to compare with other spots I’ve tried this past year. I had the Hawaii bowl that came with bananas, strawberries, blueberries, coconut shavings, bee pollen, honey, and paiai. Positives –Organic fruits! –Workers are really friendly — The workers are just really awesome people. They are really friendly and ready to help. –Cozy atmosphere — It’s a nice place to come and relax by yourself or with a friend. Negatives –Paia(Taro pounded with a little water) did not taste fresh. Slightly fermented and sour. –Acai blend texture was runny and not so tasty in my opinion. –Pricey — Mostly because of the Paia cost however, I didn’t feel like the bowl represented the cost I paid for it. Side note: Make sure you bring cash as they do not take cards here. I gave the place a 3 star because of the acai bowls here. I will be very honest with you when I say I will not be back here for an acai bowl. With that said however, I will be back to try other items on the menu. Perhaps I will eat something that will change my mind and untimately make me change my review.

Awesome Acai Bowls. Super refreshing and fresh. Tons of fruits over a cool, smooth, light acai berry sorbet. This was my first acai bowl experiecne and I loved it. The two of us shared one order as a snack. This would make for a great breakfast too. The portions are generous and can definitely be shared. Parking was difficult to find. The parking lot is shared with other stores as well. We found street parking at a nearby neighborhood. Seating is limited here. It gets super packed and for good reason. This place is forking out fresh and healthy food options. Employees were on the slower side but incredibly friendly. Super close to Diamond Head State Monument.
