While I don’t like places with sketchy/borderline nonexistent parking spaces for my poor baby, I enjoyed myself when I went here last night with some friends. My friend suggested that we go to 777 Karaōke, to which I responded, «Where the heck is that?!». On Kapiolani, right adjacent to the 24 Hour(the glass windows with the treadmill-ers), I was a bit hesitant for reason mentioned above. She suggested that we should probably eat dinner somewhere else, because, well, we found out quickly why. We got in at around 8:30/9:00ish, and our friend asked if we could have a room since there was a group of us, and we wanted to get away from the dude singing on the main stage with his bongos. We got this cute little room(I believe there are only two rooms), and made home there. Some people didn’t get the memo to eat earlier, so they were blown away by the food that ranged from $ 15-$ 20 for like loaded french fries and things of the like. Wow. Wow. Wow. Please listen to my friend, and eat beforehand. We did however, take advantage of the $ 3 beers. Coors, Budlight, etc., etc. Because it does seem like some kind of undiscovered place yet(unlike my favorite place like Duck Butts which has gotten SUPER busy and crowded), service is fast, and there weren’t too much people in there. Plus, the guys who were working there(pretty fobby), were super cute! I’m glad my friends ordered so much because I got to see them that much more! :P Very polite workers, and so very nice and patient. Overall, if you can overlook the fact that parking is sucks(no sugar-coating that one), or that food is a bit expensive, just come with a plan: eat beforehand and then come here for the drink specials! :)

I was ripped off at this bar. The staff seemed wonderfully friendly. However, the(Korean) person I was with ordered food and drinks and no one bothered to tell me(a non-Korean) that the tab for two of us would be $ 286!!! And all I drank was tea! Guess I was too intimidated to argue at the time. When I called later and left numerous messages requesting an explanation, the owners made no attempt to respond at all. Pretty shocking situation for what appears outwardly to be a reputable business.

My Saturday night soju bombs were very enjoyable here thanks to James behind the bar, delicious gizzards and kalbi, and friends on the mics. I left the bar by 11 p.m. so I didn’t have a chance to see it fill up, but there were a few tables occupied. People sang their favorite songs on stage and at their tables. Mostly Korean people were enjoying themselves at this bar, but there were a few locals. Owner James is extremely personable and entertaining. He sang songs and played drums on stage, and he served some of the best kalbi and chicken gizzards I’ve ever had. The sesame oil and salt served with the gizzards is my favorite! The bar staff and servers were all very helpful and friendly. There are karaōke rooms available for parties. I really like the interior of this bar. Seats at the bar are comfortable, there are plenty of TVs, and the lighting is spectacular after a few soju bombs. The red-walled bathrooms are a fun, unexpected touch, too. My only question after having such a great time is why weren’t there more people there on a Saturday night? Must be one of those nights.

Reading of this review by those under 17 requires an accompanying parent or adult guardian. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – I’m really not a Korean bar kind of guy… unless the bar has karaōke. I am a shy and quiet guy… until someone says, «Hey Val! How about singing a song!» I usually sit quietly at the table; sippin on Itoen ice tea… until someone gives me a pencil and paper and I write the number for«Listen to the Music» by the Doobie Brothers. I get very nervous and anxious… until I get that mic in my hand and clear my throat. Uh! Oh! There I go! I just have to walk on the stage at 777 Grill and Karaōke and when the music starts playing. I start singing … «Don’t you feel it growin’, day by day People gettin’ ready for the news; Some are happy, some are sad» You can tell that I am one of the happy ones in 777. I don’t usually like to talk in front of people… but singing in front of people is a different story. Karaōke does something to me. «Gotta get a message Get it on through Oh, now mama’s go’n’ to after ‘while Oh, oh, listen to the music Oh, oh, listen to the music Oh, oh, listen to the music» I’m really not a good singer but something seems to overcome me when I got a mic in my hand singing karaōke. I feel and play the part of a rock star.
«And if I’m feelin’ good to you And you’re feelin’ good to me There ain’t nothin’ we can’t do or say Feelin’ good, feeling fine Oh, baby, let the music play» Sometimes I don’t know what I am doing. Sometimes I start unbuttoning my shirt to look like Rod Stewart… sometimes I grab my balls!!! Yes I said it … I GRABMYBALLS! «Oh, oh, listen to the music Oh, oh, listen to the music Oh, oh, listen to the music All the time» I’ve seen Michael Jackson do that in front of a hundred thousand people; so what is wrong if I grab mine in front of fifty? No big deal OK! …if you know what I mean. This is a Korean owned karaōke bar with a stage and dance floor. We go here once in awhile if we want to drink, sing and dance.
«Like a lazy flowing river Surrounding castles in the sky And the crowd is growing bigger List’nin’ for the happy sounds And I got to let them fly» OK! When I get to this part I get very nervous because I know the song is almost finished. I’m not expecting any cheers or claps… I just don’t want to hear any boos! This place has private karaōke rooms too. But if you are brave enough to sing on stage… Go for it! Drink… dance … sing … and feel free to grab your balls! «Oh, oh, listen to the music Oh, oh, listen to the music Oh, oh, listen to the music All the time» …bbooo!!! P. S. Some ladies here are brave enough too. They drink. they go on stage… sing…dance and grab YOUR ba?? s …OO! This part is rated«X»!!

Always wondered what this place was… right next door to 24 Hour Fitness on Kapiolani. So when a few friends suggested we meet here, I wasn’t sure what to expect. So… it’s a typical bar and grill, similar to Kanpai, or Home Bar and Grill. It’s run by Koreans… we’re talking from the motherland… but hey… the Happy Hour menu features some Korean dishes and they were pretty good. And prices not bad! The Happy Hour prices for the pupus were all $ 7. They had Spicy pork, spicy chicken wings, Mandoo, Korean cold noodles(Nang Myeun), Korean spicy mochi(duk bok gi), Korean Kim Chee Pancake(Kim Chee Jun), and then they also had your typical bar food like Edamame, French Fries, etc. It’s not huge place, fairly small, but lots of seats. There’s a stage for karaōke — if you’re brave, if not, you can sit at your seat and sing too! All in all, your typical local hang out. Parking is right in the front and it’s valet only.

This korean karaōke place is right next to 24-hour fitness on kapiolani blvd. It’s not a «buy me drinkee» place. Although if it was, it probably would have made my experience much more enjoyable. Anyway, when we got there, we were the only customers inside. It took forever for us to get a drink. The bartender and waiter were tapping away on their iphones or blackberry whatevers the entire time. The food we ordered was nothing special and a bit pricey. Karaōke costs $ 2 per song and they only have one wireless mic. So if there’s a second singer, he or she would have to use the mic at the stage. Overall, meh…

I was dragged here against my will twice by mom and her friends. For the local people, this place won’t be for you. It’s pretty obvious this karaōke establishment caters to Korean people almost exclusively. And if that isn’t bad enough, they cater to mostly OLDER Korean people(35& over). If you’re under the age of 35 or don’t speak Korean, run, RUN away from here!
