Inconsistent!!! Sums up alot of my problems here, I used to love going there for the garlic parmesan wings breaded and bone in but lately they have been downgrading alot first it was their register contracts were up so they didnt have receipts for the customers to now only have 3 different types of wings and dont do breaded wings if u want breaded u have to get tradewins which is spicy, the service there is mediocre nothing special and definitely not the best & after going there for years i will have to say I’m not going back and do not recommend anyone waste there hard earned money on them

13 Jan 15 — I am updating my review to marry up with my outdoor picture and add a picture of the garlic fries… Not the best and not the worst. Personally I love having this place to walk to from my house to grab a meal and a drink. I love, love, love the wings personally and the especially the garlic fries. Both rock! Problem is… the garlic fries are not on the menu so often they are hard to get… and some waiters still will, but with most its an argument since its not a menu item. But hello… if everyone is asking for them then put them on the menu! On another note… the outside seating area is wonderful and very relaxing. There is nothing special other than a fenced in yard with torches and palm trees… but its all you need… it just puts you in that relaxing mode. Get a drink from the bar and just chill… Update: JR Rockers is closed. The JR Rocker’s logo is still up, but a different company has taken over. The waitresses just say a different company is now in charge, but a new name will be coming. There is a limited menu as of right now, so stay tuned! Very happy they are staying open during this transition.

Food is ok. Nothing really special. This is one of those places you would go to last resort to watch a football game because everywhere else is packed and you can’t get in.

Newcomers Luncheon today. Food wasn’t something I would like to eat again. Why do places like this never add seasoning to the food??? The most bland lasagna I have ever had. Dry chicken too. On the up side my DD said the chocolate chip cooking were above average.

Came here to watch a game last Sunday. Ordered a Kona draft beer… it was flat. Husband ordered boneless wings and couldnt finish them because they were nasty. There were plates sitting next to us on the bar for half hour with a check book. It wasnt the most relaxing setting, but I’ll probably come here again for the NFL package. I’ll just make sure I eat before I go, and order only bottled beer.

Horrible food! I ordered the chicken salad crescent for lunch this afternoon & it was like they dipped the bread in a vat of liquid butter. It was completely saturated I squished it out between napkins 3 times & it was still inedibly greasy. The side salad that I ordered with it was just as bad. I got Italian dressing with it & it was ALL oil, there was almost no vinegar or spice in it. I don’t know if they didn’t shake the bottle before they poured my little cup out or if they make it themselves & it’s just gross, but it was bland, oily, & nasty. We never got the milk that was supposed to come with my 1 year old’s meal(although we paid for it). My husband ordered the buffalo chicken salad with Italian dressing & his dressing was the same as mine. The wing sauce they used on his chicken was SUPER greasy too. I know you use butter in wing sauce, but they added an extra pound or 2 in the vat when they whipped that stuff up! And it was ridiculously expensive for an MWR restaurant. For a chicken salad sandwich, a buffalo chicken salad, & a kids chicken tenders at lunch we spent $ 30.00. I had to brush my teeth twice when I got home just to get rid of the horrible feeling of my teeth & tongue being coated in grease. Also, although there were 2 – 3 waitresses walking around & they weren’t busy you had to serve yourself. You have to order at the bar & then if you need a refill on your beverage you have to go back to the bar. Apparently the only reason the waitresses or dinning room staff are there at lunch are to bring your order out once it it done & to bus tables. This isn’t the worst thing ever, but it is a hassle when you have a toddler with you.

We only come here for the football. I’m dying to make improvements. A more professional bartender for the game times would help. Ours kept telling everyone how tired she was and almost seemed high. She was slow on the volume change which is not a good move when you have sports fans waiting to hear the TV’s. The brunch… expensive at almost 18.00 and ISN’T a brunch if you only get one go at bat. There’s a brand new Buffalo Wild Wings nearby – compete to keep your sports fans. Serve up some bar and football food or make a play on breakfast food interpreted as bar food. Don’t get me started on the toddlers in the bar area.

When I’m craving hot wings on base, I go here… and that’s the only reason to go here. We are not members of the enlisted club and do not watch UFC fights here(or drink here either) Besides hot wings they have appetizers, which we do not eat since we aren’t drinking, burgers, which go to fatburger instead, and salads and wraps, which go to wright brothers instead. Just get hot wings. hot wings, that’s it. They come in sets of 6, 12, 18 and 24 with about 6 different flavors/levels. I have not been impressed with their milk garlic picks. Their hot wings aren’t even hot unless you get the highest level(nitrous I think). They are connected to the enlisted club, with the entrance to the right of the building. Restrooms are located across from their side entrance and in their lanai area. If you are coming for lunch, they strictly do not open their doors until 11 and you order at the bar. I was shocked when they asked if we wanted alcohol or no alcohol in our iced tea, at 11AM. Apparently they just make you a long island by default. hot wings, if you’re craving, you’re going. nuff said.

I’ve been here a few times and always leave angry with myself for trying it again. The wings are overcooked and then drowned in sauce to try to mask the fact that they’re completely dry. The hours are horrible. Everything is overpriced. I’ve had fair service twice, but every other time it has been poor. My biggest complaint is that this is at the enlisted club; this has nothing to do with enlisted heritage and everything to do with profit by means of taking advantage of the fact that JR Rockers is the only choice here.

I wanted to like this place. Or at least be able to finish my boneless wings. I mean how does one mess up boneless wings. Let me tell you how… My friend and I came here for dinner… She ordered the buffalo chicken salad and I ordered boneless wings, which were served ice cold. I ate two of my six and then picked at my fries. When our server came to take her plate after she finished her salad and I had pushed my plates to the side she just left my stuff there, didn’t ask if I was done, needed a box, etc. or even if we wanted more drinks. We basically sat ignored for what felt like an hour. In fact three tables received food before I finally got my plates cleared. The flavors possssibly could be there for the chicken but it wasn’t fresh. Ice cold boneless chicken wings = ick.

I really wanted to like JR Rockers. I mean technically I could probably drink and walk home from here.(As long as I’m not hit by a car.) We walked in and had to look for someone to seat us. We stood there almost 10 minutes without being seated or even noticed. The prices are high for being on a base. Even for being in Hawaii. The service wasn’t great. After our food was delivered I about had to start playing Hide and Seek with the waitress to get our bill. When you have a toddler with you waiting for anything sucks. The waitress also messed our order up a little, but she was super nice to our little girl. My husband ordered the wings and they were super dry. Not much sauce and over cooked. I ordered these Southwest Rolls(I forgot to write down the exact name but they are on the appetizer list) and they were dripping with grease. I could feel myself getting fatter by the bite. After eating 2 of them I was done. I couldn’t eat any more grease with no taste. I really hope this isn’t how it always is. I’m really hoping this was a fluke.

I only come here because my office has luncheons…& hails /farewells here. The menu is limited and over priced. Obviously if your a picky water or vegetarian you’ll be highly upset. I ordered the Mahi Mahi sandwich because it was lent and when it arrived it was dry and smelled fishy. I hate fish but opted to give it arty because it came with a wasabi dressing, I thought it sounded ok — not! I don’t like eating at establishments as such at any installations for obvious lack of variety and lack of edible food & outrageous prices… but after 17 years I can honestly say nothing has improved. Customer service is a hit or miss. u may get a nice server then again a moody one. I don’t care for this place but because its convenient location for mandatory office functions I am obligated to go here …

Average food, average prices, average place. Nothing special — it is convenient if you are in the area because parking is plentiful.

Unfortunately, because of their location, they will still get our business. Many luncheons and outings are scheduled here and the business is in close proximity to everything on base, because it is ON base. Overall I haven’t been impressed by any of the restaurants on base(aside from the usual chains), and JR Rockers is no exception. Their customer service is shotty. Their lunch service is shotty. In order to order 12 or more wings spun in two different sauces, you have to pay quite a bit more. As far as sports bars go, this is by far the worst I’ve ever been to. The upside: they are on base, and within walking distance of enlisted housing and the dorms. They do offer many Pay-Per-View fights and other sports shows, and if you’re a member then it is worth your while. Members get in free to most sports viewings and music/parties at the club, and supposedly also receive discounts on food. The food is decent, but it isn’t something you can’t find better for cheaper somewhere else. To sum it up, if you have a choice on where you’re going… go somewhere else. If you don’t have a choice, be prepared to stand in line to order your food during lunch time and get up to go to the bar every time you need a drink refill. And at dinner don’t expect much more than the same.

Been there a few times in the past and the food has been good. The one thing I wish they can improve on is the ordering process at lunch time. If there is a going away or just a large group showing, may have 20 peeps in line with only one cashier open. But when I went there on SB Sunday for some wings to take out. Food was cold, because bartender didn’t see me(or number sign) and just let my food get cold. So, after waiting 40 mins for a 10 min cooking, I had to wait for them to re-cook my order. When I got home, the wings didn’t take good. So it is my last time I am ordering out from there! Other than that, it isn’t bad there.

We came here to watch a cover band of Sublime. They rocked the stage with plenty of outdoor seating. I can’t say much about the food, but we had excellent service on drinks. They might have everything in stock, but the bare minimum will do. I think my stars are influenced by the great music we had that night. The restrooms were nice and tidy so it was pleasant. The beautiful Hawaiian breeze really set the mood until some cigarettes stench ruins it. If I had to be super picky, they allowed smoking and that’s not much further away than where we were sitting. The place is a bit tacky with nothing but a sports bar theme and it’s not really inviting to the female crowd. We had a military friend lead us onto the grounds. In terms of the general public, I think a identification should be sufficient.

I never knew this place was here until my coworkers introduced me. We had a going-away party for one of our staff, and we ordered food from here. Now, let’s get one thing straight. I love sports, I love bars, and I love the food they serve at bars. So of course I’d love this place. Sadly, we didn’t get to eat in the restaurant, but I was able to go inside and wander around a little bit when we went to pick up the food. Very clean facilities, great workers who are always moving about, and cute décor. Not cute as in furry puppies cute, but sports bar cute. If that even exists. Now, I’m down for drinking a beer with my lunch, but I was still on the clock, so I just drank water with my meal. Although a beer while waiting for our food was temping. I wasn’t super hungry that day, but I got the Bigger Caesar Salad(because like 3 other people in my office got that, and I figured it was really good). It was really good. But come on Nicole, JR Rockers is a sports bar. Not a salad bar. I’m not sure what I was thinking, but the salad was delish. But not to worry, the fat lard in me was still alive and kicking. Sirloin, philly cheesesteak sandwich with onion rings, and the chili cheese fries. Heavenly. It’s a lot of fried foods, but they didn’t feel super unhealthy. Their chili cheese fries were nomz. Seriously nomz. I’ve never seen that much cheese on chili cheese fries. And the chili was just everywhere. When I picked up the container of the chili cheese fries, I almost dropped it. It was way heavier than I thought it was going to be, and it was considered an appetizer, so it was cheap. There’s some other good stuff on the menu, so I’ll have to go back and try new stuff. I’m thinking chicken parmesan sandwich is next on my list. Unilocal 365: 025 of 365

Went there with the fam on a Monday night, during their all-you-can-eat BBQ for $ 10. I decided I wanted hot wings and a burger instead… I should’ve gone with the BBQ. I definitely recommend steering clear of the burgers; they’re tasteless and not good at all. Wings aren’t too bad and the prices are definitely hard to beat. Service was great and so is the kids menu. $ 5 for dinner, snack, drink and dessert… AWESOME! Will definitely go back for the wings and a beer, but probably not make it a family excursion.
