This place is great! The only reason I gave 4 stars is due to the last time time I was in they didn’t have sprouts and the fact they need to deliver a little farther away so I can enjoy then more!

Now that Subway has pared down the meat on their subs and charging extra to add the amount of meat that used to come on their subs I now avoid Subway unless I have no other choice. We have tried Jimmy John’s twice in the last several months and have now made them our favored sub shop. In my opinion the quality of their ingredients, including the quality and quantity of meat, portion size beat other fast food sub shops. My only complaint is the shredded iceberg lettuce they put on the subs. Gave 4 stars for a fast food sub shop.

Super fast delivery! Once I got my food in under 10 mins after ordering it! Their bread is always kind of hard though. Softer bread would be nice.

The subs are really good with«hots» on their wheat bread. A really good«freaky fast» go to when I’m on lunch at work or just in a hurry.

We were curious about all the hype… disappointed they do not offer toasted or any kind of hot sandwiches. Cool place & guys working were really friendly. Sandwiches were pretty simple.

Love the sandwiches Glad they finally opened one up by my work. Only problem(took a star away) Music inside is so loud I can’t talk on my cell if I get a call I have to go outside. But if you want takeout or delivery Go to jimmy johns

In a previous review I had given only three stars. I’m updating that to four stars based on the last two times I’ve ordered its been correct. Delivery is so fast and it’s a great change from pizza. The bread is always fresh like the ingredients. I’ll definitely order again and again. Thanks jimmy johns you’ve redeemed yourself and earned a repeat customer.

Quite possibly the worst sandwich I have ever had. I’m not one to complain and/or write bad reviews — but this was that bad. If I could give them no stars, I would. I’ve had friends rave about how great their sandwiches were and how quick they delivered, and after checking out their subs online I figured I’d try it out. I ordered online the BLT with added avocado. It was delivered almost a half an hour later(when I was about a 5 minute drive away, mind you) and it seriously was the most pathetic piece of bread slapped together with uncooked gross bacon and no avocado in sight. Horribly disappointing and clearly nothing like they advertise on their website. I got to the point where I took about 4 bites and just had to stop eating it because it tasted just how it looked. Not exactly the first impression I had in mind. Thankfully I called and informed them of the sh*t sandwich I recieved. And after offering me a free sandwich(uh yeah effing right — like I want that again.) they were nice enough to give me my money back. All in all — total crap. Thanks for the stomach ache.

«Subs so fast you’ll freak.» Their tagline is no joke. I placed an online order at work today, and they showed up, sandwich in hand-in SIXMINUTES. Count them. I don’t care if they’re only like 12 blocks from my office. In six minutes, they somehow took my online order and made it into a fully customized sandwich with many ‘extra’ boxes clicked, handed the address to a delivery boy, who handed it to me in SIXMINUTES. This is amazing. This is the future. Now if only some Thai, Mexican or Italian places would deliver to this area, I could skip lunches and just sit at work and let my belly grow without even getting in the car. Many of my co-workers order from here. Their sandwiches are better than Subway. I prefer the club ones on 9 grain bread Even the ‘Vito’ with salami lacked flavor. How does salami lack flavor? My boss says extra meat is the way to go on the subs, but one try was enough on those for me. The 9 grain Billy Club(ham and roast beef) was HUGE and tasty-the bread tasted fresh and was soft. I ordered extra lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers, and their Italian dressing on the sandwich. So when I was done, I had a little salad out of my sandwich droppings. Yes, I’m a dork but this made it feel like a healthier lunch! Delivery people have been nice both times I’ve used them, literally running back to their car. The online ordering is flawless. You can even save past orders so all your customizations are saved for future orders. The price is reasonable and there is no delivery charge. Their radio commercials are funny, and they really are that fast. So fast I freaked.

Is what it is. First Jimmy Johns I’ve been to in Portland, and it was a «meh» experience. Music was pretty loud which made making your order a bit of a struggle. Over all the staff seems as if they’re all teenagers/early twenty something’s who have never worked in a good service job before. Slowest Jimmy Johns I’ve been to as well, the«subs so fast you’ll freak» moniker doesn’t stand for this franchise location. All in all, this is a gross over analyzation of what ultimately is a damn sandwich shop. Jimmy Johns, 3 stahs.

3.5 stars. I have never had Jimmy Johns before today but my east coast friends rave about it so with this new location being opened and so close to my home I figured I would give it a try, I like subs after all! First thing I noticed when we walked in was the very strong odd odor. Might be paint or flooring, or machinery still airing out from being brand new but it was noticeable and unpleasant. Another small yet large annoyance was the(ladies) bathroom; it smelt like wet dog and and there was no paper covers for putting on the toilet, eww!(Note when I say there was no paper covers there is not even a holder installed not that they ran out and it needed to be refilled). The food itself was good! Nothing that I would consider over the top rave worthy but it is good quality and taste. The bread was soft and fresh and the veggies were crisp, tomato was not soggy(this is important!). Negatives were there was too much mayo, no sliced pickles to put on the sandwich and you have to add mustard to the sub yourself, which if I am paying you to make my food I want it ready to eat not to have to fix it myself. Really how much longer does it take to just spread some mustard on the bread for me vs giving me a packet to do myself. The noise level was higher than average. It is a small tight shop with one speaker for music towards the back of the store by the restrooms. I’m not sure if they have it so loud because they think the customers care to hear the music vs having conversation or so the employees have something to listen to while working. But they(the employees) yell their greeting at you when you walk in due to it. There is no outdoor seating available to escape to if you chose to sit and eat there. Over all I enjoyed sub(10,000x better than Subway, but most anything is!) and would definitely purchase from the company again, but I would be sure to make my order to go or have them deliver it.

I fell for the hype~!!! I normally wouldn’t write a review for a chain franchise, but this one was worth doing, and since I’m the first review here I’ll do a little more in depth. Jimmy John’s has been springing up all over our city, and this one is close to me, with another opening soon down in the Clackamas Promenade. So okay, I’ve seen the fun commercials, and heard people at work talking about it, so I gave in and decided to check this place out a few times, try a few different subs and see. My first thought is always, it’s a freaking sandwich let’s not get too excited. I’m a marketing and promotions guy after all, so I know what I’m saying, or so I thought. Jimmy John’s does a lot of things right. It is ‘freaky fast’ for sure. At the height of the lunch hour you will not be standing in line very long, and by that I’m guessing 5 minutes max. No waiting for the nervous couple wondering aloud if they should try siracha mayonaise or whether toasting the bread will ruin the essence of the ‘meat product’ with turkey flavoring. The subs and clubs here taste like real food. I could actually taste provolone!!! Yay! It’s 5.25−6.25 plus drink, chip, and pickle options. There are only two bread options, square 7 grain(not so hot) and the white french bread which I really liked and I’m a hearty whole grain guy. Sure, you don’t get 100 different sandwich options, and you don’t get a lot of specialty things, but you don’t need it. They have really captured the young professional/blue collar vibe that just wants four things. Affordable, healthy-ish, tasty, and fast. I know of café’s that serve the same quality foods and gut you for $ 12 and you better believe that drink would be extra! One thing I like is that there is a truly positive vibe flowing. You walk in and everyone jumps for joy and welcomes you. Very refreshing, especially for a new(to PDX at least) franchise trying to get a foothold in the market. You get simple fixings, i.e., tomato, cucumber, lettuce, peppers, meat and cheese and a few extra nice things like oregano and oil and vinegar. Spreads are also simple, mayo and mustard. Thing is, there is a very easy ordering system and you can leave off what you don’t want. They are very customer service oriented, and even if the manufactured excitement is required for each employee, you don’t feel as if they are forced to wear pieces of flare and up-sell you on something. They hire the correct personalities for the job, and it certainly isn’t for everyone. They deliver in a very fast manner, responding to multiple phones and within minutes it’s on the way. Not easy to organize this in Portland but they manage to capture the 1 – 3 mile area around each store pretty well. Standards could be a bit higher for cleanliness when it comes to seating. There were footprint marks on my seat, and the table hadn’t been wiped. Mildly frustrating when you see eight employees on the floor. Bathrooms have a sense of humor, you’ll have to see for yourself. Also there is some great signage around the lobby. If you are an uptight conservative, you should probably pack your lunch and sit in your car by yourself… which you probably do anyway. Only other thing that could be an improvement is the loudness when you are sitting and eating inside. Music is a bit high volume, and with so many employees there is a lot of background noise that makes sitting and enjoying your meal a bit difficult. Considering 90% is take away and delivery, I’m guessing this isn’t an issue for most people. For me I like to sit and enjoy. It won’t keep me away, but it would be a more pleasant atmosphere. Bottom line: If you relax and have fun with it, this is an awesome place to grab a quick and tasty lunch. If you wake up grumpy, better get out that jar of Skippy there sport.
