Yanni’s is consistently good with good service. I’ve never had anything bad there!

First time eating at this toilet bowl masquerading as a restaurant — and the last. Ordered the gyro, took one bite and pushed my plate aside. The waitress asked if I was done, and I told her, «There is no way I’ll eat this.» Worst gyro I’ve ever tasted. And that didn’t even piss me off too much. The waitress took my card and returned with the bill and credit card slip charging me for the ass stained pita they tried to pawn off as food. And that wasn’t the worst thing. I asked the manager if they were seriously charging me for the one bite I endured. She said verbatim, «Well, you ordered it.» I asked if she was f’n kidding me, and she said verbatim, «If you don’t like it, then don’t come back.» Now, I’m usually a pretty nice guy, but I’ll admit that I did tell her to f off as I left that sh*t hole. Worst combination of food and service in the history of world history.

Very friendly staff and owner, I enjoyed dinner here and the Lamb kebab was cooked to perfection but the seasoning and flavor could be better. I’m here on a Wednesday night and it seems to generally be an older crowd we do, I do like how this place is great for a casual dinning with friends or a couple. I would come back and also bring friends if in the mood for Greek.

This review is for the CATERING only. My office ordered from here and we had Lamb, chicken and beef skewers, Greek salad, rice, bread and baklava. This was the most amazing Greek meat I’ve ever had. All of it was tender. The beef was aged and marinated, the lamb and chicken were seasoned perfectly. Everything was drowning in what appeared to be olive oil– the meat and the salad but it was all very delicious. Based on other reviews I probably want to get take out but I can vouch for the food that was prepared specifically for us: it was out of this world!

Yanni’s is a pleasant little Greek place, but they need to pay more attention to the way their customers are treated. I stopped in yesterday afternoon because I was early for the matinée I wanted to attend(theater next door). I was by myself, as it happened. I’d already had lunch and ordered only a piece of cheesecake and a glass of water. This shouldn’t have been a problem since there were only a few people in the restaurant and a lot of empty tables, but the waitress chose to take exception to my small order(read«small tip). It took forever to get the cheesecake, and it shouldn’t have. I paid in cash and should have gotten $ 3 + change back. Well, I didn’t get the change. I guess the waitress thought she would add a little to whatever tip I left, and then she promptly disappeared. It was only change, so I didn’t complain – and I did leave a tip – but I won’t go back and I won’t take my spouse and family there either. I’ve run into this before at other restaurants. Once, when I inquired, the waiter told me, «Oh. I didn’t think you’d want the change.» What? Shouldn’t that be my decision? I don’t go back to any of those places either.

Wonderful food, great atmosphere and decent prices, what else could I want? I got the gyro sandwich and couldn’t have been happier. High quality pita, and a really original tsatziki sauce that completely made the meal. They also offer greek coffee which tastes just like the stuff I had in Greece, be warned its super caffeinated(as it should be). Overall, awesome :)

Good, not great. I ordered one of the lunch specials — the souvlaki plate. The rice and tzatziki sauce were the best parts of the plate. Lamb was a little dry for my liking. Salad had a bit too much dressing but had good flavor. However a $ 15 price tag for a lunch plate is a bit steep.

First time here and tried the Lamb dip, annnnd OMG!!! Amazing, and I will be back. The service was a little slow, but the food makes up for it. Atmosphere was cozy as well.

By far one of my favorite restaurants! I eat out often for lunch and usually have salads. I come here anytime I am near to have my favorite salad, the atheneon with chicken. The folks are nice and welcoming. I highly recommend this place!

This place is great. Atmosphere is top-notch. Food is excellent. But it’s the service that really puts this place over the top. Will be back again

Very nice and friendly staff. The food was good but everything we had came out luke warm, borderline cold. With that said, let’s focus on flavors : Mussels were good. Homemade bread was good. Pastitsio was different, in a good way. It’s a layer of macaroni, ground beef and some kind of breading that was topped with very subtle spices. The veggie sides were good. Lamb Souvlaki — the lamb was good and tender but very salty! The Rice that came with it was dry and hard Dolmades — grape leaves stuffed with herbed rice. Over all it was good but the leaves were slightly too vinegar-y.

I have a good feeling it’s going to be awesome. More to come. They have a fun private room. Visiting family. My hunch was absolutely correct. We had family style greek service and greek food. I’d go back again.

Great service. Great food. We are visiting from Cali and this was the first time my family who resides in Co. Was trying Greek food. I was hesitant but went for it based on reviews. They loved it and want to continue to explore Greek food.

I haven’t been here in awhile and it was time to come back on the night of a movie. The interior looked great(I want to say they remodeled since the last time I had been there. The staff was friendly and of course I was greeted with a shot of Ouzo(although I am not a fan, I would be disappointed if they didn’t come by). Our waitress Zoie was really friendly, attentive, and we told her we were trying to make a movie so our service was not delayed. As far as food I love their appetizer menu the best and was going to get two items for dinner, but instead because of a special I ordered the stuffed eggplant as an app… I love this dish(maybe I am just an eggplant freak) baked eggplant with a tomato sauce and Greek Kasseri cheese, with bread crumbs and olive oil. I didn’t order it this time but I love the Calamari Mykonos since it is not fried and comes in a nice tomato and vegetable sauce. I ordered the special Veal Dalphine since it sounded so good and it did not disappoint. Tender veal stuffed with spinach, Kasseri cheese, walnuts, served in a wine based sauce(delish), served with carrots and roasted potato. My husband got the Gyro plate which I thought should have had more gyro, but the fries were cooked to a perfect golden brown and served with a very tasty home made tazik sauce. My friend order the lemon, chicken, and rice soup which looked creamy and was gone before I could ask her how it was, she also got the lamb shank with orzo which looked like what you would get from Greece. While I go to quite a few Greek restaurants in the Denver area(and I am sure that I there are still a few more I need to try) this is one of my favorite places to go for some unique dishes you cant get at the other places. Opa Yanni!

Our first visit to Yanni’s might be our only one; our experience was really disappointing. My friends and I are on a quest for Saganaki, a Greek dish served only in a handful of restaurants in the Denver area. We drove from the northern suburbs all the way to Yanni’s specifically to try theirs. We were pleasantly surprised by the lovely décor and atmosphere of the restaurant when we walked in – if a little put-off by the absence of an obvious host or hostess, and some confusion about seating order. The apparent Owner or Manager handled this himself, and it all worked out, however. We took the restaurant’s crowd and 20 min. wait on a Sat night as a good sign that the restaurant is popular and must therefore be good. The Saganaki was a disappointment. Too much brandy, leaving it with the too-strong taste of alcohol which overpowers the cheese. The presentation with the traditional shouting of, «Opa!» was also disappointing. We’d have preferred to have the flames lit at the table, and this arrived flaming from the kitchen. We also ordered Tiropita which was excellent, however. The Octopodi appetizer had good octopus, but the vegetables and peppers served with it were found to be a little overpowering by our table. Entrees were… okay, but the price exceeded the value. I ordered the rib eye steak, which is $ 36, and I was disappointed. It was overcooked for the medium rare I ordered. The quality of meat itself did not seem very flavorful. I found the experience a let down. Others at the table ordered the gyro platter, which they enjoyed at the time — but I know one of our guests felt quite ill later that night, and the dish not agree with him in the long run. Service was enthusiastic, and friendly, but understandably a bit slow on a really crowded Saturday night. Our drinks sat empty waiting for refills. We had to wait a noticeably long time for our check at the end of the meal. I suspect that the crowds that night might have diminished our first experience at Yanni’s. The prices exceeded my perception of value, and the first experience was overall something of a disappointment. I’d be willing to go there a second time to see if our experience improves; even the best restaurants can have a bad night. The second visit will be at the end of Saganaki Quest, however, after we’ve checked out every other place in Denver which serves the same dish.

Thank goodness for Yanni’s! A group of friends were meeting for a movie at the landmark and decided to grab drinks and an early dinner at Yanni’s. What a great choice! We opted to sit on the patio and enjoy the aging fall. The proprietor brought us a wee little shots of Ouzo, and we all OPA’d enthusiastically. We tried some Greek Wine recommended by our amazing server, Joie. Delish. For dinner, we split the combination plate of appetizers remarking how everything was so delicious especially the sausage, dolmades, and spanokopita. Three of us split a double meat portion of the Gyros, and another tried the chicken souvlaki. No one left hungry, no food was left over, and we all mosied happily next door to the cinema. Great little spot!

Tasty tasty stuff! To be fair, I’ve only been once and I know that doesn’t tell the whole story, but I loved my first trip. Stopped in for a lunch and was told to get the avgolemono soup… so glad I did! Thankfully, I love lemon and didn’t have any cold sores because wow, this packs a lemony punch! I don’t know how I could ever not order this soup again, but they really do have all kinds of stuff on their menu that look absolutely killer. We also had some hummus, and of course gobbled up the breadsticks they gave us when we sat down. Our waitress was also very prompt and friendly. Can’t wait to go back and try more stuff on their menu!

Jennifer B says it best«Yanni’s is a great guy pouring complimentary Uozo!» Oopa! I’d go back again in a heartbeat, for both the Uozo and the great food. I had the Chicken Soulvaki and it was out of this world! The chicken was moist and flavorful, the vegetables it was served with were abundant and steamed perfectly and the rice, which I usually pass on was spectacular. Other Unilocalers recommended the baklava ice cream for good reason. It tasted like the real deal in ice cream format. Magical with a capital m. The atmosphere was neither special or not special, but the service was friendly and efficient and the great food, along with the proximity to the Landmark ensures I will be back again and again.

Yanni’s is the perfect example of how one visit never tells the full story; our first visit was easily a 4 – 5 star experience while tonight’s clocked in at a measly 1 – 2 stars. First time, the service was spectacular. We had a brilliant waitress from Russia who was knowledgeable, prompt, and most importantly had a beaming smile from ear to ear. It was a Sunday night, the owner was also very attentive and engaged, and our food was pretty good as well. Fast forward to tonight, our waitress forgot or mixed up several orders(from appetizers to sides, etc.), and the other servers were incredibly rude when we politely asked for some of the little things we were missing. The food, overall, was just lackluster, and we all said it at the same time. In fact, we started laughing because it turned out everyone was keeping their mouth shut in order to not«ruin it» for someone else who they thought might be enjoying it. One more piece for greater context — my family dined with me here both times. They traveled twenty hours to come back, and their first wish was to go back to Yanni’s. That speaks volumes of how great our first time was. After dropping almost $ 50 per person for tonight’s poor service, we will not be back.
