I just had a house salad and steamed broccoli because I had eaten a late lunch but I nabbed some of my wife’s coconut red curry too. It was GREAT. The service was great and they have lots of options.

I had take out. Ordered sesame chicken, side of egg fried rice and an order of cheese Angels. Pro: very clean inviting location. Very friendly staff and the sesame chicken and rice was delicious. Take out was very well packaged. Con: they have steamed rice with the meals. If you want fried rice– be prepared to pay $ 2.50 extra. I didn’t like their cheese Angels that much compared to other places. It had a strong«veggie“taste. Meh: it’s a very tasty place but if you are looking for cheap Chinese take out– this is not it. This is more of a nicer sit down meal. I paid $ 20ish for my small order.

Place a order over the phone for pickup on Thursday night. The lady that answered the phone was so nice! They made sure the order was correct and boxed it up so I could carry it out easy. The décor was really nice and and the food was really good. I will definitely go back

This has become my normal Friday night spot. Healthy options abound. If you don’t want healthy get the lemon sauce — it is amazing. Awesome staff and awesome food.

Clean and crisp atmosphere, but the food was missing something i couldn’t put my finger on. I’ll have to try it again.

This place is truly amazing. The staff was so sweet, and the place was extremely tidy and clean. Very cozy and inviting place. It was a pleasant surprise. If your looking for a mom and pop place with so much character please come here. The food was super fresh and I will definitely be back.

This is the fourth time here and each time it has been wonderful. The favors were amazing. The presentation is beautiful. There is obviously a great deal of thought in the meal preparation and it shows in quality.

Lovely service and delicious food. Apparently they have lunch prices and portions available too. This time I got the curry laksa, I’d rank it as a 2.5 out of 5 on the spicy scale and a 5 out of 5 for flavor. Good portions too. My mum got the garlic eggplant. It was very mild and very savory. Perfect because she had a bit of an upset stomach and it helped settle her. This is our second trip and we’ll definitely be back. Fed two people for $ 17 and each of our meals came with a spring roll.

I had the pad Thai and shrimp croquettes. The croquettes were too oily for my liking but the taste is decent. The pad Thai was a good portion but too soft and soggy.

Excellent food. Don’t let the location convince you otherwise. Great prices as well. Finished off dinner with ginger cheesecake. Delicious.

I’m hoping they were having an off night flavour wise when we went because the reviews were so positive I was rather disappointed. Let me start by saying the staff were wonderful, if my review was based on them alone, I’d have added a star but sadly I was disappointed with the food. I had the egg drop soup and my husband had the wonton soup. Both were exceptionally bland. I make a better soup at home myself! No flavour at all, really disappointed. My main was better. I had a pad Thai which was tasty but not memorable. A lovely large portion however. The décor was okay, a little… Unusual for a Chinese restaurant in my opinion. I think it could be a lot warmer. Prices were good, but if the food tasted better then I would be happy, but it was no better than average. So an average review it is.

Pros: — Don’t let the old shopping center fool you. The interior is bright, cheerful, and new with a nice bar and large flat screen TVs. Very inviting. — The food(but also see my Cons). I ordered wonton soup and sesame chicken. A Chinese take out staple. The soup had lots of tasty wontons and the chicken was crispy, good quality meat, and had a rich, dark sauce. — The service was very good. Cons: — The food. My meal — soup and chicken — was overwhelmed with sesame oil. I usually like sesame oil but it is a strong flavor when used to excess. It felt like there may have been a mistake in the kitchen. — The cost is not really a con. It is in line with the place up the street. It wasn’t as great a value as I would have liked, but I’m told they have a decent lunch special with smaller portions.

We have tried this place several times over the last few months and have never been disappointed! Every single dish we’ve ordered has been delicious and the service is consistent and impressive. We would strongly suggest yellow ginger to anyone.

Food was delicious! Lost 2 stars for small portion sizes, and it’s expensive for the size. Ordered my entrée at a level 5 hot. When ordering was asked 1 – 5. Not hot at all.

Really liked this place, a lot! I’m lucky that I’ve traveled to South East Asia dozens of times and always enjoy the incredible food over there. This is the best that I’ve had here in Greenville! Exciting that there are many items that are very authentic and not seen too often outside of Malaysia, Mee Goreng?! Seriously, where else are you going to find that?! I’ll be coming to this place often and will be sure to recommend it. It’s very clean, very friendly and very good! Now if they’d add a couple of Singaporean dishes it’d be perfect! Chicken Rice and Chili Crab, hint, hint…

Yellow Ginger brings some good eats to an area of town which seriously lacks viable Asian options(in my humble opinion). The quality is good and the space is terrific, but be prepared to pay above-average prices to get it if you come for dinner. I can’t help but get excited that they offer Thai, Chinese, and Malaysian dishes here. My partner and I started with the shrimp croquettes, which are a great concept. I was expecting something a little more like a pierogi but got an actual croquette. The croquette had decent shrimp flavor and I liked the chili garlic soy dipping sauce, but it was a little lacking in flavor(maybe some more green onion?). For the price, the portion was small as well. The Nasi Lemak I ordered was definitely the star of this meal, though. On the dish comes some curry chicken, sambal shrimp, peanuts, cucumber salad, a hard-boiled egg, and coconut rice. I was a little ashamed to ask if I was supposed to mix it all together or eat each dish separately, so I mostly kept it all separate(at the end I mixed the rest all together, which was a little too much, if I’m honest). Anyway, the chicken on it was tender and the flavor was magical — not overly sweet or overpowering curry flavor. The shrimp mix was delicious as well, and the rice had just a hint of coconut without much sweetness — perfect. The cucumber salad was was zippy and vinegary but probably the weakest part of the dish. Still, it was VERY good. My partner had the Hokkien Mee, an udon noodle dish. It was also delicious, with plenty of chicken and that tasty brown gravy, but it could have used a few more vegetables. Overall, I’d give the food 4 stars. The service and atmosphere were terrific as well. Our waitress was polite and attentive. The restaurant itself is spacious, clean, and is brightly-colored. They have some wonderful Asian decorations inside which add a nice touch. My biggest complaint is that the prices are a little high for quantity and quality(the quality was very good but the portions were small for the price). I will definitely come back here sometime for lunch. I wish I could give this place half-stars, because it really deserves 3.5 stars. I’m glad to have a good Asian fusion restaurant in the Cherrydale area!

I am so glad these owners are back in town. This is not fine dining but just good Asian food served in a casual atmosphere. Well prepared at a good price in a very clean kitchen.

Two plates ordered at my table, the Cashew Chicken and Honk Kong Beef Chow Fun. Both came out looking beautiful and luckily tasting just as good. The restaurant is very nice inside. Great lighting and you don’t feel like you’re on top of anyone, yet it still feels cozy. I’ll definitely be back to try some other dishes.
