But I was at the sprint store in the same strip mall and decided to give it a shot. And the Red Bird roll is the BEST I’VEEVERHAD!!! The staff was ok the service was mediocre but the food was GREAT!!! I won’t dine in again but I will still get the Sushi.

I enjoyed my meal at Sushi Hana. I was greeted at the door and promptly brought to an open table. Almost as quick as I was seated a server stopped by and took my drink order. Not long after that she came back and took my order. The sushi was good sized and very tasty. The price was decent. Over all I would recommend Sushi Hana.

This was my «ride or die» sushi place. Service was really good, sushi was really good, and my experience was so good that I kept coming back. It had been awhile since my last visit, but I was so disappointed with my experience last night. 1) it took forever to get a menu, forever to order, and even longer to get a glass of water. 2) They forgot to bring me the miso soup that I ordered. Luckily, it wasn’t on the bill. 3) Waiter was rude. I was never checked on so he didn’t get a tip. I ended up tipping the nice sushi chefs instead… The sushi chefs are the only reason this gets a higher rating than it deserves because the sushi was really good. If this place turned its quality of service around, it would be one of the best in Greenville. Until then, I’ll be searching for another go-to sushi spot.

Have been coming here for 5+ years. I love the staff and the sushi is always good. They are always coming up with great new rolls and they will make anything you ask. It is somewhat an Americanized sushi restaurant, though I’ve never been disappointed.

This place was absolutely fantastic years ago with delicious sushi, a blast of a good time hanging out with Jimmy, the previous owner who would make all kinds of unique items and just very clean and high standards overall. Roll forward a few years and Jimmy heads to California and eventually everything falls apart. I walk in with my girlfriend to an empty stagnant, dirty mess of a restaurant with 6 – 8 servers sitting at the back tables talking and laughing, completely oblivious to the fact that none has the character, good sense or work ethic to treat the place like a business. This was at opening for dinner and it smelled like the air conditioner broke a month ago and the sushi bar was so disgusting and dirty, it was almost unbelievable. The lack of leadership that allowed this to happen should be criminal because they are the ones that allow the same 4 – 5 lazy servers to run over the place with their lack of any personal responsibility or common sense. I hope this place recovers but based on the recent reviews I bet they’ll be closed within a few months. Find a manager with some leadership ability to fire the incompetent servers and make this place great again.

Came to this place try it with our voucher. We won’t be back nor using our voucher because we didn’t even want to spend $ 50. The waitress didn’t know anything about the or wine choices nor was the sushi we order correct or quality. Horrible service. She had an attitude when we asked any sort of questions and we constantly felt rushed. It was terrible.

Sushi Hana has been my favorite sushi restaurant in Greenville for almost 5 years. Last night my experience completely changed that. It was one thing after another it seems. The table we were seated at was sticky. It was hot and they had the overhead fans on, with the lights behind the fans it felt like you were in a dungeon with the lights flashing on you. We ordered two glasses of Cabernet and she brought one glass and 10 minutes later, finally showed up with the second glass. Turns out it wasn’t even what we ordered. The sushi wasn’t good and the service was awful. The waitress never came to check on us between bringing the wrong wine and when our first sushi roll came out. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. I’ve been telling my boyfriend about«my favorite sushi place in Greenville» for months and now he will never go back!

Came here for dinner last night with a group of friends since it was in the area. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated with the typical modern asian flair that you probably find at most Americanized sushi restaurants. We were quickly seated and given waters to drink. Sushi Hana seems to have specials or happy hours every day of the week. Yesterday was $ 3 Draft beers(Sapporo or Kirin). They also give you 10% off your check if you pay with cash! For my meal, I ordered a house salad with ginger, a spicy salmon avocado roll, and a california sunrise roll. The house salad was small but tasty, and the sesame ginger dressing was refreshing. Both rolls(around 8 pieces) were pretty good too. The spicy salmon roll had the perfect rice to fish ratio and came topped with siracha and spicy mayo(?) sauces. I preferred this to the california sunrise, which was a fried roll loaded with spicy kani salad and presented in a cocktail glass. Kind of cute. The spicy kani was good, but the roll itself was bland. My bill only came out to be $ 14 for all of these items! For the price, I would give this place 4 stars, but I’ve had better rolls at other places. Still, a solid place to dine. Would come again if I was in the area.

The prices keep climbing and the quality keeps declining. Slivers of fish hacked to thin little scraps, less variety and less creativity. This former loyalty card holder won’t be back.

Used to be my favorite sushi buffet but the price has increased and the quality has declined in my opinion. Maybe managements changed in the past two years but the product isn’t as fresh as it once was and the best things on the buffet have been removed to cut costs im sure.

I went today with my husband and enjoyed the wonderful dinner at Sushi Hana. I ordered miso soup and a salad my husband as well. Soup was very good and service was fast. As main course my husband ordered Japanese stake. He says meat was tender well seasoned and vegetables were cooked good. I ordered tempura sushi without cheese. I enjoyed it and i was very satisfied. I’m not an expert but let me say i have tried a lot of sushi places and I’m sure this is on of the best places. I don’t have any complaints about service. We went on a Saturday night and place was busy. Some people complain about service but i felt they serviced us in a timely manner. I appreciate the tip our server gave me about my sushi choice. Overall this small and cozy restaurant is a good choice to enjoy Japanese food.

I am sorry that I did not trust the reviews of my fellow Unilocalers. Instead I listened to the opinion of a real-life friend. I have a friend who convinced me that Sushi Hana has one of the best lunch specials in Greenville. I mentioned that I had read some negative reviews, but he assured me that the Sunday lunch special is so different and that the food is worth the price. Dear Unilocalers, it wasn’t. While Sushi Hana offers a Sunday lunch buffet, I had the impression that they weren’t really committed to the idea of having a Sunday lunch buffet. For instance, the sign noting hours of operation says«Closed» on Sundays. Another thing is that the plates for the buffet are dinner appetizer plates that are about six inches in diameter. This means that patrons can get only appetizer-sized portions at a time. The small plates are an obvious attempt to prevent people from being wasteful and overly gluttonous, but the really tiny plates are inconvenient and kind of a deterrent for wanting to go back. I would also like to mention that the price per person is $ 15 rather than the $ 12 mentioned in a review from a month ago. The buffet is very limited, and nothing at the bar is very good. I had some of the non-sushi items, and many of them were bland and mushy. I think Sushi Hana is committed to making money on Sundays and not to making good food. The sushi was bad. I wonder if Sushi Hana uses this Sunday deal as a way to get rid of leftover cuts of fish. I sincerely hope that the quality of fish they served today is not the same that they serve throughout the week. The nigiri selection is almost entirely shrimp and crab stick. The sushi chef will occasionally add a piece of mackerel or yellowtail or salmon or tuna nigiri – but these pieces appear infrequently and are taken by customers as soon as they are placed on the tray. I really like mackerel – I like that the taste is fishy and salty and Sushi Hana’s mackeral was overall pretty good. The yellowtail was rubbery and broke apart into weird chunks in my mouth. I had two pieces of salmon – one piece was bland and the other was actually pretty good. I picked up one piece of tuna(or what I thought was tuna) – I did not eat the tuna because the color was very irregular. I inspected the tuna when I sat back down – while it did not smell fishy or pungent, the color was an inconsistent purple-ish brown instead of a steady red or pink. The tuna also appeared to be irregularly cut – either with the grain of the fish or from a fibrous piece of fish. I feel terrible being wasteful – especially with sushi – but I just could not will myself to eat the tuna nigiri. The sushi rolls were okay. I think that they had too much rice and noticed that they were not very solid(they fell apart easily). I want to end my discussion of the sushi by saying that I don’t think that the fish was improperly handled or that it will make someone sick, I just think that the quality of the fish is very poor. I have eaten premade sushi from Publix or even sushi at Hibachi Grill & Buffet. I expected Sushi Hana to have similar or better quality. Honestly, this was some of the worst sushi I have ever had. The quality of the fish is terrible. I am giving two stars because the service was fast and friendly, and the restaurant is cute and clean. Greenville has so many great sushi restaurants and so many great places to enjoy a weekend buffet – Sushi Hana is not on either list of greatness for me.

Was really looking forward to this place but the food was bland, the menu mundane and not vegetarian friendly, presentation was boring and uninspired –not acceptable with sushi. And very lackadaisical service. Waited to get a drink, waited to order, needed to ask for everything’s(napkins, silverware) and waited to get check. I never tip 10%, rarely even 18%. I tipped a little over 12%. Subpar. Glad we had a coupon.

I’m usually generous in a review, but this establishment has some epic fails… Everything from soft/old fish to Miso soup which was so thick it was like consuming salty warm gelatin. This place regularly fails on freshness, which is of the utmost importance with sushi. It is almost like the chef just throws the rolls together; might as well let me roll my own…

Insiders tip: Please come on Sundays when there is a buffet available for like 12 bucks which include a wide array of sushi, salads, soups, meats, and rice. I would advise only coming here on Sundays. Please come early at 12 since people start lining up early and the restaurant is pretty small.

I came here on Friday night with my family. The restaurant had just opened(it opens at 5:30 on Fridays) and it was already packed by the time I got there at 5:50. It seemed like there weren’t enough servers for how many tables there were, and subsequently the service was sort of slow and just basically not very good. The sushi was really good. Altogether, we got a philidephia, california, spicy tuna, volcano(I think it was?), teriyaki salmon, tuna avocado, baja california, and hawaiian roll, which had mangoes in it! It was a lot of sushi for the price. I would come back, just not on a weekend night.

Don’t eat here!!! It’s a waste of money!!! Salmon roll has almost no salmon in it. And has no flavor. Basically only rice. Other rolls were pretty much the same way. Took about 35 mins to get our food, and there were only 3 other people in the restaurant. Never received our soup and salad. Right before we received our food a group of people we sat beside us who had a small dog with them.(Non-medical dog) and nothing was said to them at all.

I try to eat here at least once a week! I have never been disappointed with the food. I have never had a problem with the service, even on their busiest nights.
