Stopped here for some drinks before dinner. It was OK. Got there around 8:30 on a Sunday Night and there wasn’t much of a crowd. The inside is very dark and narrow too. I wasn’t even sure if they served food or not because no menu was ever brought to me. the bartender was nice though and served us right away.

Live this place. Gets a little college crowded late at night, but otherwise a cool little place

Hands down my favorite bar downtown. My girlfriend and I like to come here for a few drinks every now and then, and have really enjoyed the people we meet and trying their beers. The staff is soooo nice. They’re what makes Rey’s special for us. My only negative point about Rey’s is that it gets a little too packed later on weekend nights and it’s impossible to fight your way to the bar/enjoy a conversation with friends without yelling or getting bumped in to, but I find this to be the case for pretty much every bar downtown, so what can you do? Overall, go here. I like it and you should too.

I like Rey’s but I miss their old menu. Unfortunately I have no idea when it changed because I haven’t tried to eat here in probably something like two years. Anyway, I stopped in Saturday evening just after 7 and the place was empty. Grabbed a table but had to go to the bar to order everything, which seemed a bit weird considering there was no one there. Or just in general because I know I had a waiter the last time I was there. Anyway, I had the corn dogs and curly fries and they were good, though again I miss the old menu. More options and I remember they had some different types of burgers and the one I had back then was delicious. Now they just have a plain Jane American cheeseburger and about five or six other items available. I know this place often has good drink specials and yes they have a decent beer list(though nothing that will blow you out of the water if you’ve been to, say, Barley’s). I want to say the mixed drinks I had cost just just over $ 6 each and were decently strong. I love the atmosphere but hate when it gets super crowded late at night. Also they need more/better bathrooms. But I do like it as an early nighttime stop when out downtown for some fun.

Great service. We were visiting from out of town and really enjoyed an evening at Reys. The bartender Sam took care of us all night and made sure we never had an empty glass. Thanks!

Always a staple for me. The bar tenders are friendly and quick. This place always has a very eclectic mix of clientele. Pick your spot for cozy and intimate or busy rubbing elbows. And where else can you get $ 4 Irish Car Bombs? Usually picks up around 11pm on the weekends. The food is decent as well if you need a bite.

I go to Rey’s after work for a drink or two and I’m always happy I went. Great specials and good service. Music is always good and the bartenders are very attentive.

We only stopped by for a drink at the bar(and thus won’t be too wordy in this review), but we enjoyed the laid back, comfortable environment here. Bartenders are friendly, and while the tap selection isn’t so great, there is a good amount of beer available in the fridge, meaning there’s something for everyone looking for a cold one. Oh, and the drink specials! Probably the cheapest tab we had all weekend. Great stuff.

Came here on a Tuesday night around 6pm for taco Tuesday! $ 2 tacos and 4 $ chimichangas! 2 $ coronas and 4 $ car bombs! Great prices, tacos were good! A little empty but that didn’t bother us. we had food, drinks and shots for $ 25! Can’t beat that

I don’t understand why this place isn’t constantly packed! We’ve stopped in twice for the $ 5 burgers on Thursdays after the music at NOMA. Great burgers; as good as any I’ve paid for. Big, tasty, perfectly prepared, fresh ingredients, and big. Fries are very good; tots are better. Plenty of TV’s. good beer selection, with very reasonable prices. $ 4 for draft Guiness. Service could be a little better, but not bad. I need to find an excuse to try the rest of the menu…

Taco Tuesdays are a hit with me. They have many beers, one of which I cannot find anywhere else. All of the staff have great attitudes and are seasoned in their position so you know what they’re recommending is good. This place has a great ambience and would recommend it to everyone.

My favorite bar in Greenville by far! Great atmosphere, staff, drinks and food… What more could you ask for? The chef personally brought out a beautiful and delicious appetizer that was to die for, which I was not expecting with bar food… Then I requested a bartender to make me a drink that was out of the norm with one of my favorite spirits and he didn’t disappoint! See you at Rey’s!

I went to Furman for four years and spent a lot of time otherwise in the great little city of Greenville, but only recently has Reys come out of nowhere to become the #1 hotspot for a night out on the town. Lovingly nicknamed«The Hallway» within my group of friends, Reys had always been a stop in a larger pub crawl event — these days, though, it’s become«the» stop. A few positive things: –Its décor is pretty great. Vintage posters line the brick walls and gives it a cool, city feel. –Last night there was all you can eat wings(any flavor) for $ 10. Not too shabby. -$ 2 Shocktop special is a siren call for girls. –Multiple TVs, and the staff is accomodating when you’d like a channel change. A few negative things: –One person female bathroom stall. Will people ever learn?! –We don’t call it The Hallway for no good reason. It’s long and skinny and the bottleneck phenomenon is in full swing here on Fridays and Saturdays. Highly recommend. See you there?

I agree that the layout/floorplan of the bar is not ideal for when it gets packed — which it does — but the fact that it continues to get packed despite this minor flaw speaks to the positive points about the bar. First, the spot is pretty cool aesthetically — exposed brick, I like the REYS sign in lights towards the back, and when it is jammed I do like that they have the smaller bar open towards the back too. Bathroom situation for women is not ideal. They could definitely use more bathrooms. Hands down the best thing about this place, though, is the beer selection. Their beer cooler is chock full of great craft beers and they generally have a few good ones on tap as well. Check out the Bells Oberon in the summer & the Three Philosophers in the winter. And then try about 3 other randoms you’ve never had before.

I agree with my other two Unilocaler’s !. Drink here not so much for the eating. WOOHOO Irish car bombs! 2. Space! there is none else on a friday or sat night, unless you go ALLL the way to the back where no one is. Its a bottleneck situation. Great little place just wish is was laid out better.

This bar’s downfall is its narrow floor plan, which pushes most of the customers into an uncomfortable, cramped space near the door which blocks access to the bartenders, unless you’re willing to duck past a mélange of tables, chairs and chattering customers. I think we’re all used to maneuvering through crowds in bars, but the crowd here is packed in tight in that one vital place, leaving the rest basically deserted. Even on a busy weekend, more than half of the space is wide open, while the small, vital fragment of space through which you must pass to order or leave is clogged full of people. My other gripe is that — like a lot of bars in Greenville, frankly — the«youthful» scene is really more like a 30-something scene. I don’t want a college bar, but if you’re between the ages of 22 – 30 and don’t want to spend your time chatting up bachelorette parties or middle management, it’s kind of tough. That being said, the décor is great, with exposed brick and an old walk-in vault near the back and several different seating areas with different furniture and light levels. The price is definitely right, too; 2 dollar beers past 7 on Saturday night? It may be PBR but hey, I’ll take it.
