This place was very nice. I was impressed with the décor and the layout was very nice. The service was fantastic! Also, if you check in with Unilocal, you get a free glass of wine! You can’t beat that. The drink and food selection was good. The mixed drinks were very tasty and well made. Marvin is the greatest bartender, he has a really great personality for his job. The only downfall at the time was the AC wasn’t working. I would’ve spent more time, but it started to get pretty warm in there! I hope they get it fixed soon.

Just found this hideaway little gem and so excited! Food, staff, atmosphere were all amazing. This restaurant is a homerun! Will be back soon!

Eastern brunch 2016. The food was good. Brunch advertised to start at 11am. However at noon the buffet was not ready for guests. Items missing. You had to pick up the covers from the chafing dishes yet there was no where put them while you got your food. Poorly organized. Only one waiter, therefore service was slow. The shrimp and grits were great. Biscuits and bacon great. Would have liked an asst of desserts or sweet breakfast finger foods. Great atmosphere. A bit pricey for the menu choice.

So disappointed in their menu change and more pretentious vibe. Missing the mushroom gnocchi, used to visit regularly just to have that. Now, with their prix fixe, expensive, limited-option menu, they have little to choose from and have turned this place into a restaurant you come to for a special occasion rather than a simple dinner out on a Tuesday night with the gals.

This place was a cool place to people watch from above. Wine was a little pricey, their cocktails were unique, service was a little slow specialty since it wasn’t that busy.

I loved this place! I love how the place looks and the service was awesome. I wish there were more menu options to choose from, but the cheese & charcuterie plate was great. Great place for wine & champagne.

Went to Stellar for happy hour and service was terrible!!! Domenick was the bartender and we asked for a food menu…45 minutes later, no menu and we couldn’t even find anyone. Paid cash and left. There were only 2 tables in the entire restaurant. Downtown has plenty of options to choose from. Not you can’t staff your restaurant, don’t open at 4!

We stopped by for a late dinner. We were immediately greeted with a little wine tasting at the bottom of the stairs. Great first impression. I can’t remember the exact names of everything we ordered, but we had the wedge salad and the duck and mushroom soup as our appetizers. I thought the wedge salad was ok but I loved the soup, although I didn’t taste the duck at all. For our entrees we had the octopus with potatoes and the fried green tomatoes. Both were very delicious. As for the drinks, the wine seemed a bit overpriced. I also ordered a pilsner but it seemed a bit too wheaty to be a pilsner. Strange. Overall it was a nice experience.

Came here for New Years with my boyfriend and we sat on a high-top near the bar area. I wish that I remembered my servers name, because he was FANTASTIC! Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. The menu was prix fix and I had the scallops and the Sancerre to go along. Everything was perfect. I just wish that I could remember my servers name and give credit where it’s more than due. Also, being new to Greenville, I must say, that this is a place that I am going to bring my parents when they come.

Great place to meet a friend and catch up over a glass(or two!) Of wine. Staff was great– extremely friendly, helpful in assisting with wine selection. We were anticipating more appetizers to share. They did make a WONDERFUL cheese plate for us after this. Great atmosphere!

I went to Stellar for the first time this evening. It was also my last. We walked into the restaurant and were greeted by the hostess who asked if we wanted to sit at the bar or a table. We said table, and she encouraged us to «Take a seat wherever you’d like.» There was no one else there. So, we sat at a table right next to the window overlooking Main Street. We quietly waited for a few minutes before the bartender yelled at us behind the bar asking if we had a reservation for that table. We obviously did not, and were told by the hostess to sit wherever we wanted. We indicated this to the bartender, who then yelled at the hostess not to seat people at that table. He rudely indicated that we must move. We did move. We got up and left the building altogether. The lack of professionalism, courtesy, and coordination among the staff here is simply amazing. If you’re in need of drinks, save yourself some trouble by do as we did – walk across the street to Rare Steakhouse(where we received incredible service. Read my other review for details).

Had dinner here while on vacation and it was so good! Great friendly service and everything we ordered hit the spot. It was the perfect place for an anniversary dinner with my boyfriend. We especially loved the truffle Mac and cheese and of course the wine.

I thought this place was good. Not great; but good. The food quality was decent. Service was acceptable. A very nice wine selection. For me, it was just a little over priced. No real complaints other than the price point needed to be just a little softer for the overall value. That said, I’m not super familiar with the downtown area dining, I can’t make a comparison versus its peers. My overall recommendation based on my experience is to stop in and give it a try. Perhaps, for you, it will be spot on. Cheers.

Such a fun, classy place! I’ve been here several times already and have always left satisfied. On my last visit, a friend and I split a bottle of chianti(one of the best wines I’ve ever had!) as well as the red wine braised beef linguini and flourless chocolate torte. The wine menu here is pretty extensive, and there’s also a cocktail menu. All food items were absolutely delicious and went perfectly with our wine. The bartender, Jon, was great and made our dining experience even better. Stellar also has great happy hour deals from 4 – 6 on certain days, including half off wine bottles. We were able to get our $ 60 chianti reduced to $ 30! This place attracts a fun crowd on late nights as well and is a perfect place to visit when in downtown Greenville. They also occasionally have live piano music playing in the evenings. Note: Stellar no longer honors the free wine upon checkin sadly, but don’t let that deter you!

I had a fantastic time here. Great food, delicious wine, and an awesome atmosphere. I would recommend Stellar to anyone who enjoys wine and some solid food.

We discovered Stellar one evening by accident while walking downtown trying to decide where to eat. This place must be one of the best kept secrets in Greenville. It is tucked away, out of site up a very steep flight of stairs on North Main. If the very courteous hostess had not been standing strategically in front of their door marketing the place, we would have missed it for sure! Drinks and atmosphere are fabulous in and of themselves. This is great place to go just for that. However, don’t miss the food because the chef is amazing. The price point is awesome too compared to a lot of other similar establishments with lower quality. We will definitely be returning to Stellar.

If you are into wine — Stellar is the place for you. They have a wonderful selection that is always changing, and they know how to treat their wine. From storing it at the right temperature to wonderful recommendations from the sommelier behind the bar — they keep the experience of the wine lover in mind. The food is also amazing. The curry fries are so delicious — I dream about them sometimes. Stellar is a must-see while on Main Street(and worth a trip there just for a visit).

Caveat: this is a bar-only review, we did not eat here. The only reason we stopped here is because there was a girl outside the entrance downstairs handing out free samples of wine. That’ll get us every time. So we went upstairs for a drink, and found a relatively small bar in a corner, and pulled up a stool for a drink or two. The beer selection was a bit unique, not large but some of them I had never heard of before. The bartenders were friendly(to us at least — the rowdy, over-drunk crowd next to us didn’t like his polite request to tune it down a bit). It’s a nice spot. I’d love to see an improved beer selection, but maybe that’s just not their specialty.

I came here about a year ago for a glass of wine which I thoroughly enjoyed. I finally got the chance to come back and check out their dine-in experience with a friend the other night. Can I just say wow? We started with a free sample of wine right as we walked in the door. There was no wait for a table and the waiter was with is right away. He had a thorough knowledge of the food and wine menu. We basically took all his recommendations for every course and wines to pair. We passed on desert, but they brought us two more complimentary samples of wine to try before bringing us our check! What service. I will definitely be back here more often. It is so nice to have found a wine bar with good food that knows what they are doing.

Stellar is another great downtown spot for happy hour. They have some good appetizer and drink deals until 6:30. During happy hour, you can get their appetizers 3 for $ 15. You can $ 5 glasses of wine any day, but on Wednesdays they have ½ price bottles of wine and Thursdays they have $ 4 well drinks. On the recommendation of our waiter, my friends and I split a bottle of Juan Gil one night, which is one of my new favorite wines. I can speak about their appetizers, as I have not had dinner here. The Smoked Trout and Potato spread is the best thing here. It is delicious smoked trout mixed with some fluffy mashed potato. It could stand to have a little more trout in it, but it is still good. Their truffle mac and cheese is also good, with just a hint of truffle flavor. The only appetizer I didn’t care much for was the Brie and Guava Flatbread. I thought it lacked flavor and I could not not taste the guava at all when I had it. The portion sizes are not terrible big on any of these. This is fine when I am paying only $ 5 a plate, but I am not sure I would pay full price on most of these appetizers. Mostly we have gotten decent service here, but there has been one time where the service was crappy. It was pretty much empty in there, so I am not sure what the problem was. I will say that I have not been to this place once when it was crowded, and most of the times we went it was virtually empty. Maybe this is the sort of place that gets busier on the weekend. Overall, it is definitely a solid spot for happy hour.
