Lots of options, always fresh, supports local bakeries and eager to please. What’s not to love about this place!

I was disappointed to have to rank Rainer’s so poorly but the service was frankly unacceptable. A group of us had gotten together at Rainer’s for a celebratory cocktail. It was a quiet Wednesday evening with two people at the bar. Their happy hour takes $ 5 off their cocktails between 5 – 7. Unfortunately when it came time for the bartender/waitress to tally up drinks, she could not figure out the number of drinks in our group. A remainder of drinks were unaccounted for, to which she herself admitted that they had been inappropriately tallied. However, she still ended up over charging our group Instead of trying to fix the issue. One of our colleagues was so fed up with her inability to solve a simple calculation, they just paid for drinks that were never consumed by us. Even at the end, the waitress could not figure out what was wrong. She was just relieved that the problem was solved by someone else paying the bill without so much as an apology. While this speakeasy has a lovely area to lounge in and a decent selection of liquors and cordials, we will not be returning to Rainer’s as we were unfairly treated. If you go in a group, it is definitely more worthwhile to just open an individual tab to avoid a potentially ridiculous and frustrating issue

Very nice place for lunch. I had the Green salad with a scoop of chicken salad on top. I think it was the«step it up salad». Salad was excellent, very fresh with different varieties of lettuce(not iceberg) with tomatoes, broccoli, bell peppers, mushrooms & carrots. «Mom’s» Dressing sort of a mix of French and balsamic, very tasty. Came with a shortbread Rosemary cookie, yum! The menu is slightly different than what’s on Unilocal, there are more options on the current one. Very healthy options, no fries :)

Their Apple Fruit Salad is the best salad I have ever had! The greens taste fresh from the garden and the mixture of fruit was so good. Their chili was amazing too and I don’t usually eat soup, but the waiter said it was heavy on the beans, so I wanted to try it and it did not disappoint. This is one of those restaurants you wish was near you, so you could go to it all the time. The menu is full of great sides too and everything is fresh.

Chicken salad had two small bones in it and didn’t taste like anything. Blueberry lemon dessert tasted like chemicals(bleach maybe?). Saw it described below as a «speakeasy»… Definitely more of a coffee shop than a bar or lounge.

Perfect portion, perfect flavor foods in great hand crafted china. The Atmosphere reminded us back in Europe.

Great food and service. The bread pudding was exquisite, I ordered it a la mode and the ice cream quality was great too. The strawberry mousse cake was recommended and we tried it but honestly weren’t very impressed with it. It wasn’t bad but didn’t have a very good texture. The coffee was possibly the best part of the experience. We ordered salted caramel machiatto lattes and were very impressed. Great atmosphere with lots of local artwork.

Vibrant and artsy atmosphere. Apparently every art piece there is for sale. Lots of art on the walls and small art pieces are all about the restaurant. I ordered a the Backyard Cuban and was very happy with it. I usually dislike sweet pickles, but to pair it with the tangy pork was amazing. The bread was top notch and toasted to perfection. Not too heavy and not too light. The side portion of pasta salad was a little small. I finished it in 3 forkfuls. T’was delicious though. This place would get 5 stars if it wasn’t for the outrageously priced wine. Nine dollars for a glass of basic Chardonnay. The price wasn’t listed on the menu, and it wasn’t presented to us as something unique. Generally when I order basic white wine it’s three to four dollars. If I am ordering something special or there’s a wine cellar with a list of wines, their year, location, and pairings… Then yes, nine dollars is fine. But this was just a general request for some cheap white wine to go along with a sandwich. It was kind of shady to slap the nine dollar price tag on the bill for something so simple. My fiancés sandwich was the chicken pesto panini. It was a little dry and could have definitely used a dipping sauce. Perhaps a small bowl of pesto. Overall, the food was good. Just don’t order any wine.

This place has a cute, hipster-y vibe, with quirky art on the walls and such. The staff is compiled of all of the most genuinely charming people you’d ever meet. And, the food is absolutely amazing! The first thing I ever had was their grilled cheese with jam, which sounded horrible, but was probably the second best choice I’ve made in life.(The first, of course, being the choice to relocate to Greenville.) I just wish their hours would extend a bit later Mon-Wed.

Great place healthy food you must try backyard Cuban sandwich it was perfectly made. My wife had the Mediterranean wrap and it was excellent as well. The sides are very creative and healthy. We were so full we didn’t have room to try the scrumptious looking cakes that they had displayed. This is our new favorite place in downtown Greenville!

Delicious find! Jarrod’s Tomato Soup in fresh and hot and nothing like your Mom’s! We paired it with Old School Grilled Cheese and could not be happier! Try this shop!

Beautifully appointed speakeasy lounge bar in downtown Greenville. The décor, seating of this place is world class. You could not have designed a better atmosphere. We’ve been a couple times now and have always had very good service. Struggling with the cocktail selection — nothing jumps off the menu to us so we stick with old standards, which is fine. They initially struggled with lighting — it was too bright for a speakeasy lounge. Looks like they have figured that out. My only recommendation is the music they play. It will put you to sleep. You don’t need tech or loud rock but find something that has a little beat to it. Maybe some old rat pack? All in all love this place and will see myself going back a number of times for cocktails.

Rainer’s is the best place to eat downtown Greenville SC my family loves this place, it’s casual and has reasonable prices. The staff is friendly & proffessional. We’ve been eating here for at least 5 years and we just love it. Matthew the guy who works there is so nice, and goes above and beyond for the customers. I love it because it has a no cellphone policy. It makes it for a nice quite lunch or dinner. The atmosphere is fantastic, they have awesome food the tomato soup is to die for the best soup I’ve ever eaten. Really all there food is fantastic there’s nothing you can eat there and just love it! The desserts are delicious, the coffee is great. Just an outstanding restaurant. Everything about it, is fantastic!

My niece and I had lunch today. She a salad with a dressing that was so outstanding we ask if they sold it but to our disappointment answer was no. I had the beef dip sandwich with side of black eye peas, peppers etc. both exceeded my expectations. The coconut cake was very good. We drove up from Anderson to eat here and was not disappointed. I wish they would open a place in Anderson but I guess i can wish on. We arrived around 3 and received our food quickly. Good Place!

Oh! How I wished the service and the food matched. The food was very ok but the service was not good. Lots of empty tea glasses, long waits to place orders etc… Even getting the check was a painfully slow process. The folk art on the walls was the best part

Rainer’s is a good place for lunch. Reduced to 3 stars for the delay in getting my food. Great Cuban and pasta salad at a very reasonable cost. Get there early and the review would have been 4 stars.

The owner seems to be on the verge of a mental breakdown apparently brought about by the pending collapse oh his business. Freaky. Avoid.
