Love Frodos!!! It’s a bit more expensive than the other pizza places close by but it’s worth every penny. We’ve been going to Frodos for 15 years and never had a bad experience.

Great pizza buffet for lunch! The pizza is good quality and the buffet includes a nice salad bar and dessert cookie pizza and a drink. Space is tight and it is very busy at lunch but the food is worth it and the employees work hard to keep the pizza coming.

Frodo’s on S. Pleasantburg is consistently a yummy place to grab some pizza, hit the salad bar, and share a pitcher of college beer. They can make the pizza with thin crust if you like, just make sure to ask.

It seems people have forgotten what good pizza is these days. This is another ma and pa pizza restaurant that has figured that slapping cheese and sauce on some cheap dough is pizza. Yeah, technically it is. But that’s all it is. They should make their slogan, «Technically pizza.» By the way, they claim to make their dough«fresh twice daily». That is NOT something to brag about. Good pizza dough is made the day before and allowed at least 24 hours to rise in a refrigerator.(36 hours is better!) When dough is made quickly it looses its taste and texture. And the proof is there. Their dough is tasteless and lacking texture. The sauce is nothing special. Their cheese is pretty good. If you’re drunk and looking for something greasy, but not concerned about the taste… Eat here!

Considering the taste of a majority of chain pizza joints, I will take Frodo’s any day. Have never tried their buffet, cause we enjoy ordering off the menu. The whole family enjoys Frodo’s. Our daughter loves the pizza and the games. So thank you Frodo’s on S. Pleasantburg.

Maybe it’s a Greenville thing, but I crave this pizza. It’s different from anything else in town. The building could use a re-do, in my opinion. It’s a little dirty feeling-the décor is the same from the 70’s. I know– I’ve been going since then. A refresher would be cool. Anyhow, go for the pizza– delish!

Came over from Simpsonville to get pizza here because we were told it’s one of the best places for pizza in Greenville. Having moved down from the Northeast were you can get real pizza we pretty psyched to try it out. I would have to disagree… Pizza crust was like eating cardboard, greasy and bland… Way over priced for what you get. The size of the large was what medium pizza should be and it cost almost $ 20. Also, if you want to feel like your eating at a daycare center, this is the place to go. There were more kids running around and screeching because they couldn’t get a quarter to put in the gumball machine. Bathrooms could use a little cleaning too…

Pretty good pizza. Better than any of the chains out there for sure. Fast delivery.

I really enjoyed their crust. Entry way could use some sprucing but liked it. Liked the deep booths

Good pizza — not gourmet, not chain — just good pizza. This place looks pretty sketchy from the outside, but the inside is cozy and comfortable. We were there early on a Friday evening, and by six or so the families, with lots of kids, start rolling in. You order at the counter, and they call your name when it’s ready. Nothing to complain about; the pizza comes out fast, but completely cooked. Good crust(brushed with butter), good sauce(heavy tomato and a little sweet), good toppings(nothing weird, just normal).

Best hawaiian pizza ever! Love this place– just be ready for kids everywhere if you visit on a weekend at dinnertime.

Nuthin Fancy. Simple wooden tables, draft pitchers of Bud, and the best pizza in town.

If you’re looking for a Show Biz style pizza(NO, NOT Chucky cheese, but old Show Biz), Frodo’s is the best. Their fresh mozza and unique sauce set their pizza aside as an entirely different animal from the Barley’s and Mellow Mushrooms of the world. Try to BBQ chicken pizza. Un. Be. Leivable.

Hard to see what complaint someone would have about this place, to be honest. I’ve always enjoyed coming here, and the pizza isn’t gourmet, but once you see the exterior of the place, you know not to expect it. You come here for the experience of being in a funky little pizza joint where you can play pinball, see friendly faces and escape the crushing onslaught of corporate chains that are assaulting Greenville(and winning). I don’t have anything constructive to say about the salad bar because anyone who comes to Frodo’s looking for a salad needs to assess their culinary priorities at the double. Anyway the food is about on par at the Italian fare you’ll get at Gourmet Pizza on Augusta, but the atmosphere is so much better that I’d come here any day.

Well… if you want to stuff your piehole for six bucks at lunch… pull on into Frodo’s. The pizza reminded me of tasteless, greasy, chain delivery style fare… with lots of canned tomato sauce… and for as much traffic as this joint gets at lunch maybe they could throw out a few more pizzas so the patrons wouldn’t see getting the first or second helping as a sport? Salad bar honestly reminded me of my high school salad bar… same tired old iceberg lettuce, tasteless cheese, cold pepperoni, generic croutons, fake bacon bits, and oily dressing… Somehow I just expected better than that from a place that traces their existence to the 1970’s…the thought did go through my head as to why people have been paying to eat this stuff since then… but it came back to six bucks, a Styrofoam to-go cup, free refills, and accomplishing this in an hour or less… in a mildly convenient location.

There is a large chance that if you grew up in Greenville, a Frodo’s pizza comes with a little bit of nostalgia. For me it’s begging my parents for a few more quarters to play Galaga after wolfing down a few slices. I don’t know how long it’s been here or who owns it. This is one of two locations but has been in existence much longer than the one at Cherrydale. Don’t expect yourself to find NY, Chicago, or any other style of pizza. The toppings are actually pretty good and I had a Mediterranean style this time around. The pizza itself has a crisp, albeit bland, crust and is run through a conveyer-belt oven(much like the pizzas from delivery chains). So for me I enjoy Frodo’s because it’s a small pizza, salad bar, and a quick game of pinball. Others might be disappointed.
