My family tried this out for the first time. Happy hour sushi rolls sounded cool but the rice was mushy and they were awful. Service was bad, we were ignored most of the meal. But the worst part? My husband and I got HORRIBLE food poisoning from the sushi. The next day we were so so sick. Never again.

Love the Red Dragon roll and substitute the escolar with more spicy tuna plus the Shaggy Dog roll– all very good. We also like their chicken wraps and roti as appetizers. Nice environment and staff is always friendly. This is one of our neighborhood favorites!

Very odd cuisine, staff and customers. However I fell in love, so I’ll always adore this weirdo place.

I work near Lava 10 at times and for lunch it is always my favorite spot. We have been a few times for dinner and luckily had the same waitstaff we had for lunches that were awesome. My daughter has always heard me rave about it so we popped in for dinner. I say popped in, because we were NOT expecting a 2 hour ordeal. We sat there for TWENTYMINUTES before someone came to take our drink order. Then when he did, he came back without drinks(several minutes later) and I had to ask again for drinks. We had to ask to order appetizers, had to ask to order dinner, and had to find a hostess to get soy sauce(which we had asked the server for). We watched a couple next to us come in, wait about twenty minutes, never get served and walked out. The thing that bothered me about that is the server quickly came and put new silverware after they left! It was almost as though he was waiting for them to get fed up! I say all of this to say, the service is sometimes crap. But the service is also sometimes very good. The food is worth a crap shoot, I just really hope you get good service. So let’s talk the food! Their sautéed edamame is OUTOFTHISWORLD!!! We also like the jalapeño appetizer, it’s a jalapeño with crab, salmon and cream cheese tempura fried. We love the Grapevine roll, crab with avocado with spicy mayo. It is ridiculous. The Thai tea is so yummy. So give it a shot, just don’t have high expectations of service

Well I used to love going there until last night… I ordered my food to go… I read them my card over the phone. I came out during the rain to go and pick up my food order. He asks for my card again and all I had was a picture of it because it was stolen earlier this week so I was just reading it from my documents that was saved. They take cards over the phone all the time… That’s NOT the issue. After already reading them my card they told me they can’t take it(enough though I was there two days ago and the manager David typed it in for me because he was aware of my situation). After being asked to go to back on Friday night at 7⁄8 o’clock in the pouring rain on a Friday wasn’t possible because they aren’t even open. So I then asked David, the manager, why he couldn’t just type it back in just like he does when I order over the phone. He said«sorry». So then I asked what are they going to do with my food since it was wrapped up and literally in front of me… I asked if he was just going to throw it away… He said«NOWEPUTITBEHINDTHEBAR UNTIl SoMEONE ORDERSIT». I then raised my voice repeating what he just said so the people dinning might know that they are eating food that has been sitting out. I was floored that I’m a loyal customer and they just took my payment two days ago, then the MANAGER saying they serve old food… Since I did say that’s unbelievable for the people dinning… A random server cane outside and told me «thanks for not coming back». Rule number one — the customer is always right… For a random server to come out and tell me that because I’m now finding out the truth on their food is completely uncalled for. BE CaReFUL THEy JuSt SERVEOLD tO GOFOODUNTIL sOMEONE ORDERs IT And they are so RUDE.

Food was great. Lunch on a Friday around 11:30 so not crowded at all. Had the lunch box… Tom yum soup which was rather tasty, salad was fresh, everything in the box was really good. I’d go back. Service was pretty good too, really attentive servers after we ordered.

Very good food, the basil noodles were great. The kids meal was huge, I was actually jealous of what my son got. We also got the appetizer sampler and it was great. We’ll be back!

Enjoyed sushi and cocktails here on a different occasion(a weekend night with a girlfriend) so I decided to stop by for Sunday lunch with the husband. Was not disappointed! We both ordered plates– his, a curry/rice combo, and mine, a tempura/rice combo. Yumyumyum. Though I’d suggest the combo dish over what I ordered. Good prices, chill environment, friendly service. I can dig it.

My wife and I like coming here because food is good & it is never crowded. This place must be overlooked cuz the food is authentic asian street food(excluding the sushi, which we also like). Our favorite is the appetizer roti prata, which is like naan bread with rich yellow curry sauce to dip it in.

It gets better every time I come here. Benny is such an awesome waitress! We request her table when we can! The sake bomb sushi was incredible and so were the garlic noodles.

The roti pancakes are pre-made and probably provided by a commercial source, the curry is decent but hardly terrific — chicken-scented potatoes in dull gravy — and the ginger dressing is lavished only on the carrot gratings atop the salad, where it stays when you try to mix it into the lettuce. But I’m giving this place five stars anyway. Why? They are damned nice, sweet and professional. The booths are comfortable, with tables placed at a manageable height. The environment is conducive to relaxation. Food comes out quickly, and they encourage you to take your time eating it. I love going there, which is more than I can say for most of what is competing for your dining dollars in Grapevine. Yep, five stars.

Food was regionally authentic, it reminded my husband and I of Southeast Asia. We had the roti prata and chicken satay for appetizers, red dragon and spider roll as our mains. The satay sauce was exactly what we had in Singapore and the chicken that was served was really tender. The curry for the roti prata was good, but I felt that too much coconut milk was used. Service was definitively not up to standard. Our waitress was not paying attention to us at all and we were the only table she was serving. We could see and hear her talk to the bar manager, who was complaining that they’re short of staff, it took 10 minutes before she saw us trying to get her attention asking her to refill our drinks.

I’ve been twice– once for dinner, and once for happy hour. MUSTTRY: salt and pepper crab entrée. My husband and I split this and a sushi roll. It was to die for! A little bit greasy, but really great. Sushi: Eh. My husband likes it, I think it’s about 3 stars. We had the Go Nuts roll, and we’ve had their happy hour rolls(which are basic ones, like spicy tuna, california roll, etc). My favorite sushi item is the Ahi Tower… which is pretty impossible to mess up. Happy Hour: $ 4.50 wine. The wine itself isn’t phenomenal, but we had great pours(both sitting at the bar and sitting at a dining table). They have different appetizers for $ 4 – 6. We enjoyed the chicken satay and the crab rangoon very much. Atmosphere: I think their outdoor street sign is totally cheesy. The atmosphere inside is pretty good, especially for suburbia! It’s always been pretty empty inside when we’ve gone. Service: always been great!

Visiting Grapevine for the first time and was most pleasantly surprised to find South East Asian Food. Elegantly decorated interior in its own building clearly visible from Hwy 114 East. A long sushi bar on one side, a equally long liquor bar on the other. Very pleasant background music with a lively beat to keep the mood alive and cheerful. The waitress was most helpful and patient in getting my son’s custom shrimp broccoli chow fun order as exactly specified! He devoured it in no time at all! He dearly loved the large shrimps. My beef vermicelli was just as delicious and tasty with a slight zing to spice it up. The spider roll was beautiful to see and just perfect to consume! Add in miso soup, green tea and the lunch made me promise myself to return for other yummy dishes especially those from Malacca. The meal was well worth the cost. The owner Mike Tan definitely knows Asian Fusion!

First time to Lava 10. Saturday at 6pm, place wasn’t crowded at 6pm but 30 min later people were coming in, so def must be a fav sushi joint in grapevine. Sat down, greeted right away, received water, complimentary cucumber salad, and a hot towel. My boyfriend order Sapporo which he loves with sushi. I kept looking at the cocktail mention because their cocktails sounded exotic… Coconut mojito?! First heard of, but I couldn’t drink that night due to a minor cough. Next time I’ll try it! We started with calamari which was more tempura style, it was delicious, and a good size for 2. For sushi we got drama queen, sake bomb, spicy tuna, yellowtail nigiri, and sweet shrimp. Drama queen I loved! A little kick. Sake bomb was sweet more of a dessert roll in my opinion. Yellowtail was fantastic. Sweet shrimp, I feel like the shrimp head could of cooked longer… I’m usually able to eat the head no problem, but I had to remove some shell pieces. Other than that this place is awesome. Def visiting again when in grapevine!

It looks small on the outside but it’s quite spacious on the inside. I really like the décor. Our Server was Jake. Jake was very attentive and even brought me club soda and a new napkin to clean my shirt when I spilled curry. He said the turmeric will stain if I don’t try to get as much out as possible so I really appreciated that. I honestly should eat with a bib because I ruin a lot of my clothes due to food stains. We started with the crab rangoon, which someone stated as a «deconstructed crab rangoon,» which is quite accurate. It tasted good — dip was well seasoned but didn’t have as much crab as we expected based on previous reviews, wontons were fried perfectly and the sauce was pretty standard sweet chili sauce. I actually like pulling apart a crab wonton and dipping in the sauce rather than breaking a wonton in half, dip one with crab and dip the other with chili sauce and stack them to get the full experience. The roti paratha was good. The curry was mild, not too spicy as some places are quite spicy. The roti came in small pieces, which made it easier to share, soft in the middle and a bit burnt on the outside. The BFF ordered the shrimp garlic noodles because he thought it would taste like my bestie’s awesome noodles but this is with egg noodles and she uses angel hair pasta. It’s a bit greasy but it tasted good. I tried it without the nuoc mam and it was a bit bland. Adding nuoc mam changed the flavor and made it pretty good. I really like their nuoc mam. It’s sweeter than the Viet kind and a bit oily, making me think they add sesame oil or something to it. I meant to ask what the ingredients were but I forgot. The shrimp was a bit mushy but it’s well flavored and crispy on the outside. I ordered the salt & pepper soft shell crab and we really liked it. I prefer it over the salt & pepper shrimp and salt & pepper squid we always get at Asian restaurants. Lots of onions and jalapeños and eating the jalapeños makes it quite spicy. The crab was flavorful and the batter was crunchy. I’d order this one again. Really good with white rice. It would’ve gone well with soup. Maybe next time, I’ll get tom yum soup with it.

LAVA10? PERFECT10! I’m loving this locally owned restaurant in the midst of the 114 corridor of chains. I’m sushi crazy but I like that they also offer up some great noodles/curry options. I recommend the roti appetizer, the Butterfly Kiss, and gold-digger roll. Bonsues include good service, unique décor, and a full bar! PS, this is my secret happy hour spot. They have fun cocktails and you can order the appetizer tray to try a little bit of everything.
