We basically only went in for the fudge. Well, we gently mocked the abundance of mouse figurines and flannel. But really, we were in it for the fudge. We got a pound for a gift, and I got a half pound for myself. It didn’t seem life changing at the time, but damn it I didn’t finish that half pound in 48 hours. So, yeah. The fudge is good.

We visit Grand Marais every year and every year we HAVE to visit Beth’s fudge and gifts! The fudge is unbelievably tantalizing and satisfyingly amazing! All of the gifts, trinkets, clothes and random items they sell there are great! The employees are beyond accommodating and overwhelmingly nice! I have nothing but nice things to say about this place and always recommend for people to visit it! I wish I lived up in Grand Marais just so I could wander into the shop every single day! If you find yourself in this shop you MUST buy a pound of fudge!!!(which is under $ 20. you can get five diff flavors of your choice AND they throw in an extra ¼ when u buy a pound!!!) You can’t go wrong here!

This place doesn’t get better. We stop in here every year during our vacation. The best part is the location. We can hop into our 6 favorite stores before we head here and then a short walk across a quiet street gets you right to the donut shop, then a 5 second walk brings you to the lake. Perfect for a day trip! This year my two year old decided that he NEEDED a seagull stuffed animal. I couldn’t find any so one of the guys that works there spent at least 20 minutes helping us look for one. When one couldn’t be found he made numerous phone calls trying to locate a store that had one. Believe it or not every store was sold out of the seagull stuffed animals, nevertheless he proceeded to spend another 10 minutes holding various stuffed animals up to my son to find out which one he wanted. We ended up with an owl and a raccoon and smiles all around. The prices are great and the fudge is ever better. Don’t let the faded words on the side of the building fool you. Do yourself a favor and don’t miss this place.

Beth’s Fudge & Gifts is a cute store located in the heart of Downtown Grand Marais. As a child, Beth’s was place I enjoyed visiting because of the Fudge and the merchandise. I would save my allowance for months in order to get that one thing that my ten year old self absolutely«needed» to have! Whenever I’m in town, I try to stop in at least once during my stay. Why Beth’s Fudge & Gifts –Fudge: The fudge is so darn good! The fudge here is kind of like chips, you can’t just have one piece. The one small piece you intend on eating turns into a 14 of a pound. Oops! The fudge is made fresh and you can totally taste the freshness! My favorite fudge flavors are the Chocolate Peanut Butter(1 layer of peanut butter, 1 layer of chocolate topped with plain M&M’s), Gunflint Rocky Road and Chocolate Explosion. *Buy one pound of fudge, get 14 pound free. Beth’s will mail fudge to the Twin Cities and other areas. I suggest calling to find out where they do /don’t mail fudge to. –Gifts: Beth’s is a one stop shop for pretty much anything gift related. You can find a large variety of figurines, toys, stuffed animals, apparel, jewelry, candy, cards, mugs, local/regional condiments and more. Staff: The staff is always friendly, full of smiles and will go out of the way to answer any questions/or help you find something. The owners are invested in the community and make sure customers are well taken care of. –Miscellaneous: Always clean and smells like a fudgy heaven inside! There are two benches, plus a small sandbox with toys outside of the store.

The fudge at Beth’s was fresh and beyond delicious. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients and are not selling you inferior/old product. There is quite a variety also. It’s expensive, but worth it. Not sure if it was fresh just because the tourist season was starting and it was just made and hadn’t been sitting there, though. As for the rest of the store, there are many curiosities and collectibles for just about any taste. I’ve never been to such a great store that’s a tourist spot since stopping at Wall Drug in SD(if you’ve had their fudge, you know what I’m talking about). It’s not nearly as big as Wall Drug, but it sure has a variety.
