My wife and I had dinner at Mile High at 7:30pm on Saturday 1÷30÷16. We came in for dinner and to celebrate my wife’s birthday. I made our reservation thru Open Table earlier in the week. The reservation was noted that it was my wife’s birthday, but to be sure they were aware I called your restaurant Saturday afternoon to confirm. I spoke to a woman(did not get her name) and she checked the reservation and said it did not indicate we were celebrating a birthday. She told me she would immediately note it on the reservation. I asked her if they do anything special for birthdays and she said they would give her a nice rose for her birthday. Great, I said, and hung up. We arrived around 7pm and received a very friendly greeting from your hostesses, who also promptly offered to hang up our coats. She advised our table should be ready by 7:30. We proceeded to sit at the bar and have a cocktail. Cocktails were very good and the bar staff was friendly and very accommodating. Unfortunately, this is where the positive experience of our night ended. Promptly at 7:30pm the hostess advised us at the bar that our table was ready. She brought us to our table and we were seated. Shortly after that a very friendly bus girl came to our table and brought us water and said the server should be right over. About 10 — 12 minutes passed until the server David finally came to our table and introduced himself and took our drink order. He seemed quite stressed, annoyed, and generally stiff and unfriendly(as if he didn’t even want to be there). Another 10 minutes passed until he then brought the glasses of wine we ordered. He told us the specials and then asked if we were ready to order. We said no, that we needed a few minutes. He returned a few minutes and we gave him our order. My wife ordered a Caesar salad to start and the crab cake entrée. I ordered the wedge salad to start and the 14 oz. Delmonico ribeye for my entrée, medium well temperature. I advised David we would order a bottle of wine with dinner. About 10 minutes later our salads were brought out. The salads did not taste fresh to me. Both were served on ice cold plates which makes me(from previously working in the hospitality industry) believe that they were made much earlier and then put in a refrigerator until ordered. That may be how some places do it but other comparably priced steakhouses(Capital Grille, Morton’s) prepare your salad when it is ordered. David never came back to ask how the salads were. The next time we saw him was when he came to get the empty plates and take our wine order. He set the lemon sorbets in front of us but never said a word about them. I know what they are for but nothing from him. Again, he seemed very bothered, annoyed, stressed, etc. We ordered a bottle of the Petite Syrah with our dinner. After another extended time our entrees were brought out. Wine was not brought at this time. David came back a few minutes later and said the manager was«looking» for the bottle of wine. He never asked how our entrees were. My wife said her crab cakes were good in the sense of no added filler, good crabmeat. However, she said they tasted quite bland, no seasoning or flavor to speak of. My steak was basically the same. In my opinion, it tasted like a steak you would buy in the grocery store, bring home, do nothing to it, and put it in your oven. Thankfully there was some type of au jus on the side so I could add some flavor to the very tasteless piece of meat. The potatoes and creamed spinach were the same. Very plain taste and no flavor to speak of. Perhaps the sous chef forgot to season anything that night? More than halfway thru our entrée David returned and said they did not have the Petite Syrah I wanted. He held the wine list and asked what else I wanted. I did not have a 2nd place bottle picked out so it took a few minutes for me to pick another one. We ended up going with the other Syrah you have on your wine list. He brought the wine out and still never asked how our dinners were. Very disappointing for a place that claims to be The Brandywine Valleys finest award winning dining experience. We have dined at every other high end steakhouse in the area and have never had experiences like we had on Saturday. Your prices are comparable with all the other steak houses in the area and I would expect the same level of service. We could hear other tables complaining about the same type of issues and the excuses they were being given is that there were servers who called out that evening. That is not the customers issue and their experience should not be affected by internal issues going on at the establishment. Upon leaving, the manager(name unknown) got our coats for us and never once asked anything about our evening. And to really complete that the terrible night we had nothing was said to my wife about her birthday, nor was the«rose» brought to her that your staff promised.

I came here with a Groupon but I would have been EXTREMELY disappointed if I had paid the actual prices for the food here. The restaurant is very nice and looks pretty high class. The serve sorbet in between courses which is a nice touch, and they have people refilling water every couple minutes which is also nice. The waitress was friendly but very slow. I went on a busy Saturday night, so that part is understandable. If I’m paying $ 40 per plate, I have pretty high expectations. Those prices put this restaurant in the same league as some extremely nice steak houses. So I was expecting a similar experience to what I usually get at a nice steak house. I got a $ 40 «steak medallion» type dish and the food was decent at best, but the presentation was absolutely horrific. It literally looked like 3 pieces of steak with a huge glob of Velveeta on the side with some french fries and under cooked broccoli. My husband’s prime rib was the same quality as Outback’s, but the baked potato was not good. We did not stick around for the dessert because it had already taken very long and we did not expect anything good to come out of that kitchen. So honestly. I would rather go to Outback for the same(if not better) quality and pay 1⁄3 the price. Firebirds blows this place out of the water and the cost is also much cheaper. It wasn’t a horrible meal, it was decent. But I don’t expect decent when the plates are $ 40 a piece!

Just went to Mile High to celebrate a birthday. After waiting 30 mins after my reservation I finally asked the hostess when our table would be ready. She then indicated that half of their servers called out sick and they were running behind. Wouldn’t that have been nice information when we checked in that half of the servers were out. Two servers can’t serve an entire dining room. We left and went to Sullivan’s to celebrate the birthday. What horrible service. We will never be going there again.

To all the people complaining about the prices charged: this is not exorbitant for aged beef and you will easily spend this much or more for a steakhouse in town. My humble suggestion is that you check out a restaurant on Unilocal before you go as it clearly states the range. My Christmas(well Sunday the 28th) dinner there was unparalleled as always(especially that crème brûlée, I could have iceskated across that caramel) and I thank my stars we have someplace here in the suburbs that is just as good as Ocean Prime but without the fight for parking. Kevin, keep up the good fight, I know you were swamped but we barely noticed :)

Went to buy a gift card. Hostess approach me as I walked in the door with«are you here for a gift card?» I said«yes». Hostess: «we are no longer offering them» Me: «oh your out of gift cards». Hostess: «oh we have regular gift cards but the BOGO is over! Me: «I didn’t know anything about the BOGO.» Obviously she was waiting for an argument with a customer. Not a very friendly FOH staff. They looked like they all had it with the holidays! A friendly Hi how can I help you goes a long way. Not a look like here comes someone else through the door!

Just left here with my family and sad to say that they were not accommodating at all. We were the only customers in the place and the manager refused to get an extra chair from the dining room because he had reserved seating for later. Aparently the seats stay empty and they would rather loose business instead of moving a chair. We left and with 7 in our party a lot of businees to loose. Valuing a customer is direct reflection from managment on down and if they don’t value customers then neither will anyone else in establishment. Know first hand as I bartended for 30+ years and appreciated everyone sitting at my bar as they were my true employers.

After coming to Mile High for years, my parents and I had high expectations for a Christmas Eve dinner. Unfortunately for us, that was the farthest from the truth. My mother ordered a 10 oz filet medium rare. At first try, it came out medium to medium well. Our waitress was extremely pleasant and went back to the kitchen to have it re-done. The second steak was absolutely raw in the center. We asked for the manager to come over and inspect the steak, and he confirmed that it was in fact way under-done. After taking the plate away, surprisingly, it was just moments later it came back. To our dismay, the manager had instructed the kitchen staff to take the two halves of the 10 oz filet and re-grill both halves separately until they were both cooked to a perfect medium rare temperature, as opposed to properly starting over with another 10 oz filet. We asked the manager if re-cooking a $ 48 filet that had been cut in half was acceptable for a steakhouse, and to my surprise he said that he would’ve rather done so than have us wait 15 minutes for a properly medium rare cooked 10 oz filet. Although Mile High did remove the 10 oz filet from our bill, when you are an established steakhouse and cannot produce a medium rare 10 oz filet on Christmas Eve, I believe that it’s extremely disappointing, especially after three attempts. Fortunately for Mile High, we have been here many times and will certainly be back. However, I sincerely hope my review is a wake up call because had this been our first time here, especially while celebrating Christmas Eve, we would never be back.

Way over priced for the very small portion(I laught at the size of the baked potato) the food was tasteless. I had better steaks at LONGHORN that were done perfect and with great flavor and for more than half the price. Will never go again very disappointed.

Everything was very good. Even the bread & cornbread with the side of butters were good. Steaks are delicious. Kevin was our waiter and is a very informative cool guy, very helpful. His recommendations from the specials to the wine were spot on. I’d def. recommending this place out. A bit pricey but we had a groupon. Even without that I’d recommend trying this place out. The only thing that wasn’t perfect was the crème brûlée. It was only a half inch deep with too much sugar on top. Don’t let that sway you though everything else was spot on! I’d recommend asking for Kevin if he’s working.

Expensive for food that was just okay. My husband got a lobster tail meal that was so tiny. Very meh. Beautiful place, just needs some help with the food: price ratio!

I’m not sure where the name comes from, because this restaurant is in a very unassuming, first floor location in an area of PA without any mountains. However, they do make excellent, unique preparations of meat and seafood. Also, if you sit at the bar, they have an additional, slightly lower cost, menu, and you can meet and talk to some interesting people. Try the bourbon lobster tail and the prime rib or steaks. The only downside is the limited wine selection and lack of real wine list.

Amazing. This is our families favorite place to go for that special birthday dinner or even for valentines or New Year’s Eve! I love that they do gift card deals! They make good gifts !!!

This is our favorite steak restuarant. We come here at least 8 times a year. Food is always amazing and our filet is always cooked perfect. There is one instance though that we had a reservation, even showed up 30 minutes early to enjoy a drink. An hour and a half after our reservation we finally asked what the hold up was and they said they forgot about us. We were the only ones in the waiting area and then when they sat us we asked to speak to a manager, who then didn’t come until the end. We love this restaurant and we’re upset about«being forgotten about».(when we were the only ones there) the manager was no help at all, she gave us a card to call and complain. She was terrible and did nothing for us. We will continue to go because honestly the food was great and the waiter was great, but mange mentioned obviously needs a training session. I’ve been in the food industry for 15 years and know the proper ways to handle these scenarios.

We stopped here because it was mid-way between friends. What a find! We ate ate the bar so that is the only menu we can review. Outstanding burgers and fries. The bartender(Andy) was a true professional(not to many of them). Great service and food combined with good friends and nothing can be better. Yes we will be back.

Our experience tonight was abysmal. The restaurant was overbooked & understaffed causing huge delays in food & drink service. The food was served lukewarm and the dish prepared for our friend with a food allergy was incorrect, causing him to have a reaction. No adjustment was made for this issue causing overpayment for an inferior experience. We will not be back soon.

I really wanted to give this 3 stars based on the EXORBITANT total price for one appetizer, one beer, and two entrees.($ 104?! Hello!!) Thank god work was paying for it. I loved the chutney dipping sauce, but there’s no way in this world two 5-inch long egg rolls should cost $ 15. There’s also no way in this world a 6 ounce hanger steak and crab cake should be $ 40! Anyway, the food and service were very good, but I’m just not sure how long Mile High Steakhouse can survive with the crazy prices they’re charging. Save eating here for a special, special occasion…

The food was very good! My fiancé and I came at the right time when they were giving us free choice of side. My fiancé got a lobster with his steak and I got crab cake with my steak! It was very good. Service was okay.

Stopped in on a Sunday about 5:30 for the ½ price bar food and reduced drinks(bar only). Wow – couldn’t have been better! Bartender service was flawless. The chicken wings were excellent. And, my Salisbury Steak entrée in a gravy with onion rings and macaroni and cheese – impeccable! My partner’s bacon cheeseburger also excellent. Definitely would recommend and will definitely be back! Thank you!

I wrote this review at Mile High Steak & Seafood, but since I checked in here, I copied and pasted the same review. Pretty decent. Not sure if I would come again bc it’s a bit of a hike for me to get here, but the food was good. Came here on the surf and turf night(buy a steak, get free lobster, scallops, or crab cakes) Even with this deal, it was average pricing. I can get a surf and turf platter at other places for the price you have to pay for just a steak there. The good thing about here is that the steaks that you order does come with a small side on the plate with it. Normally, high end steak places, you just get a piece of meat on the plate and have to pay an arm and leg for some sides. Here was our order… Husband ordered the lamb chops with the free lobster. I ordered filet with tempura lobster and got a free lobster with it as well. We ordered 2 sides to go along with it. Lobster mac and lobster mashed. Lol… as you can see, it was a Lobster night. Lobster mac was my favorite! The lobster mashed was a tad on the bland side. Not exactly sure what it was missing but it needed something to give it an A. My meal was decent. It was cooked well, but I’ve had better steaks elsewhere. My husband’s lamb was delicious though! He agreed it was one of the better places for lamb. Service was ehhh. I dunno if it’s bc we are asian and look young, but I noticed our server gave better service to her other guests then with us. Oh well!
