Excellent through and through. Service was wonderful and friendly. Food was great. Would recommend!

I’ve been here a few times before and I was always impressed. I would say this place falls in between an Outback Steakhouse and a Morton’s or Sullivan’s. You walk in and get that expensive restaurant feeling with prices that aren’t too bad. Some of the items on the menu are a little on the pricier side and I feel they should be lower. The food is great and where else can you get a Pittsburgh style steak? Lots of parking outside. When you walk in there is a bar near the entrance and to the left is the main dining area. The kitchen is out in the open and you can see the large wood-fire grill. Like most steakhouses, they offer you bread. Mine was warm and fresh and looked like a baby’s bottom. Yes, they gave me butt bread and it was good. I’m a big Caesar Salad fan. I love it when a place can make a good Caesar salad. The salad was very tasty here. Perfect amount of spices and dressing. The one complaint I have about it was the lettuce was chopped a little too small. I prefer having larger pieces of lettuce so that I can pick them up easier with my fork. The server offers fresh black pepper at the table. I could have gotten the side salad, but I wanted to see how big the full version of it was. For $ 7.95 I think I should have gotten a little more. Disappointed in the size but impressed with the flavor. Lobster Spinach Queso was very tasty. They give you a bunch of tortilla chips with a dip made of lobster, baby spinach, tomatoes and pepper jack cheese. Once again a little pricy at $ 12.15, but this was pretty damn good. I would probably order it again. Sometimes things like these are really greasy. This wasn’t. I was impressed. You get to choose a side when you order a steak and I went with the Southwest Au Gratin Potatoes. Oh yeah, these were good! Not greasy. Loaded with everything you would expect. I highly recommend ordering this as your side. Now the steak. I went with the Aged Ribeye. It is a 14 oz cut of steak. The cool thing about Firebirds is they will cook your steak over a fire so you can get that charred outside like you get on a BBQ grill. Thats how I love my steaks. They offer you Pittsburgh style. That is when the outside is charred and the inside is like a rare to medium rare. It was cooked perfectly. Very tender to cut. Lots of flavor on the inside and the outside. I fell in love with this steak. Not too bad at $ 26.75. I will definitely be going back for more. For dessert I had a slice of their Crème Brûlée Cheesecake. This was probably the most amazing cheesecake I ever had. It was large and had a thin crispy shell on the outside. OMG it was so good! ORDERIT! Overall I was pleased with Firebird’s Wood Fired Grill. The staff was very friendly and fast. The atmosphere was nice. The food was good. Check them out when you can!

First time coming here today, I wasn’t impressed with my food at all. The atmosphere was nice and the service was prompt and polite. My boyfriend got the smokehouse chicken sandwich and said It was good. I on the other hand got the Delmonico steak sandwich(Delmonico being my favorite cut of steak)! It was terrible. All fat! It seemed like a cheap piece of New York strip, not Delmonico. It was barely edible. I’m surprised that the reviews were as good as they were with the quality of my food.

Went to Firebirds with a colleague after work, and my hat is off to this restaurant for an exceptional meal. I’d give 4.5 stars if I could, but just doing 4 for now with the room to bump it up to 5 in the future. Ok, so about the experience. The interior of the restaurant was nice, suitable for a nice date or just hanging out with friends. Service was prompt, attentive, and warm but that’s not overly important to me. Not important? Indeed, if you’ve read my previous reviews, you’ll understand that my ratings tend to be mainly about food. So on to that, and here’s where things get a little quirky: my co-worker and I ordered the same exact meal by complete coincidence, drink and all! We both got the 9oz filet with a loaded baked potato, plus a diet coke. Plus a diet coke!!! The only noticeable differences in our orders were how the meat was cooked(medium well for me, versus medium for him) and how many ingredients of the loaded potato were put on the side(all for me, just sour cream for him). Wow. Think of the odds. Maybe we should both play the lottery before the night’s out?(…) Sorry, went on a tangent there. Getting back on point, the steak was great, excellent high-quality meat, cooked exactly to order(it’s really annoying when a steak needs to go back to the kitchen, so I appreciate this). It was a outstanding deal too, less than $ 30 with the price difference between the 7oz filet and the 9oz filet a measly 3 bucks. That’s right, 3 bucks, meaning that the marginal cost(per ounce) of the 9oz dropped by more than 50% beyond the 7oz serving! I don’t know if I’ve eaten a steak before that was so economically sexy! And I’m not even an economist… To think if an actual economist ordered that steak, he or she would probably go home with it! Innuendo aside, Firebirds is the perfect destination for your next meal. If you’re not a fan yet, go there soon for a memorable occasion with good food and good company, even if it’s just the friendly waitstaff. Highly recommended.

Great atmosphere — you can tell this is normally a great place but a few bad hires can really impact your experience. Chicken was undercooked, water glasses sat empty, we twiddled our thumbs while we waited for the bill. Understaffed? Maybe — but our trip definitely did not meet expectations or anywhere near the reviews shared by other Unilocalers…

After my last review I was contacted by the GM and he offered to have us in for dinner on the house. This was not necessary but a very nice gesture. When we went back it was Firebirds as we know it. Everything was delicious and the service was on point. I got to get my potatoes au gratin which were fantastic.

This is a bit of a tough one because in a vacuum I think this is probably maybe close to a 4, but when you add in the cost, it comes closer to a 3. Really splitting the difference likely lands it a 3.5 but in the end I have to hedge to 3 because in all likelihood I won’t go back. It’s good enough, to be sure. But I think maybe a bit on the high priced side for what amounts to good, not necessarily great, food. The service was ok, a little distracted I would say. It had the feel of college kids doing the work there. Not bad, mind you. But not great. It was dark, ambiance was nice overall. We got a cheese queso dip with nacho chips and it came with bread. The bread was a tad lackluster. Again, good enough realm, not great. The dip was good but honestly it’s kind of something you would get at Chili’s or TGI Friday’s. I mean perfectly fine, but not«wow I’m loving this» quality. D got a burger which was fine, not great. And I got some chicken breasts with mashed potatoes. The chicken was average at best. The mashed potatoes were quite good. In all my meal was ok, her meal was ok-good. The app & bread was good. I can’t say it was a bad meal nor can I say it was a bad experience. But add it all up and I’m not sure we would ever go back here. Could do worse, could do better.

Here in town for an event and after a long day we stopped in for dinner. Pleasantly surprised as this was hands down one of the best rib eye steaks I’ve had. Friendly and helpful staff and delicious food. Loved the ‘butt bread’ and the blackened steak was to die for, can’t wait to come back!

There must be nothing better around here for this place to be as highly rated as it is. For a chain restaurant this place was slow and disorganized. We came here for an early dinner on a lazy Saturday afternoon after doing a wine tasting close by in Chadds Ford. We weren’t looking for exceptional quality or service but we did expect at least minimal effort and a relatively quick turnaround. We got neither. Most restaurants have more waitstaff on hand than this on a weekend so we waited, and waited, and waited some more just to get basic things like drink orders in let alone refills or food. The food was ok, we were not wowed by it but it wasn’t terrible either. This is my level of expectation from chains. Once and done we’ll look a little harder for local places next time around.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our experience here. We ordered the Durango burger, strawberry and shrimp salad, and the signature pineapple infused vodka cocktail. We loved everything! The burger was juicy and flavorful. It tasted very gourmet for a very affordable price. Can’t beat a great burger for under $ 12. The cocktail was bright, refreshing, citrusy delicious. I enjoyed my salad. The dressing was light. The addition of the jicama and walnut gave the salad the crunch that I love. Our server, Eric T. Was really friendly and gave us great recommendations. Never met a waiter that was so high spirited. we will definitely come back.

Firebirds has a small, attractive bar which is in the front where you walk in. Very appealing. The dining room is vet big, like a gymnasium, however, also appealing as the lighting is nice and the booths roomy. Service was very good from start from to finish. And consistent over 3 visits. They serve 1 little warm roll that looks like a butt after placing your order. It’s small, but yummy. The menu is not large, not overwhelming and does have something for everyone. The food we’ve had has been consistently good– especially the fish entrees. Great deserts. Recommended for sure!

This is a prime example of an Upscale Casual chain that has found a market niche and fills it very nicely. What niche is that you ask? They fall between the family steakhouses like O and LH and TR and the big guns like RC and M and CG. If you don’t understand that last sentence then you are not a steak person. I think of them as an American Steakhouse+. The + is because there are plenty of choices for the non-steak eater. The folks that eat here want a better meal and atmosphere than at a family steakhouse and they are willing to pay for it. On the other hand they don’t want to dress up and take out a second mortgage with the big guys. The ATMOSPHERE here fits the upscale casual moniker perfectly. It’s very classy but not so much that you wouldn’t feel comfortable in casual dress. The bar is particularly gorgeous. The specialty drink list is very good at around $ 10 each. The bar is so nice that I would recommend showing up thirty minutes early and enjoying a before dinner drink there. The wait staff here is young but well trained. You won’t see quite the polish as you would at a high end establishment but you will feel well taken care of. The lovely wife and I enjoyed four star CUSTOMERSERVICE. We each tried a different soup and they were both well-seasoned and the correct temperature. I added a house salad and it was served on a chilled plate with a chilled fork. That was a nice touch and it was very fresh. For entrees we enjoyed Pecan Crusted Trout and a Pepper Crusted Sirloin. There is a very nice list of sides and you can swap them around any way your heart desires. Both entrees were prepared very well and were nicely seasoned. We split a decadent desert and once again a nice touch was extra-long forks for sharing. So four star FOOD all around. Out bill including two drinks each broke $ 100 but not by much. This is the third location that I have tried with about eight visits over all. It’s a certainty that I’ll be back!

I’ve dined here two times in the last month, and it continues to be my new ‘go to’ place for dinner after work with friends. The appetizers(lobster queso) are delicious, as is the bread served at the table. The menu is large, but they manage to do everything well. The service continues to be timely and tactful as well.

2nd time here. 1st time I went to the Delaware restaurant and we were seated late on a fri night, but food was good from what everyone else said. I was sick so i couldn’t taste it. This time I’m healthy and the food and service was great. Fish cooked great, great drinks and great sides. Definitely will be coming back again.

Came here for lunch on a whim. I was hesitant because i didn’t hear the best things last year. To my surprise everything was excellent. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. I had an offer that was only valid at their Wilmington location and she got the manager to offer it. I had a cup of chili to start and had the crispy fish tacos with southwestern au gratin potatoes. The potatoes were so so so good. The fish tacos were nice and crispy. I was afraid that the sauce and toppings would get it soggy but it didn’t. My fiancé had the parmesan crusted mahi with parmesan mashed potatoes. That was excellent as well. I am a very weak drinker but their passion punch was the perfect amount and delicious. Needless to say, we will be back.

Went to firebirds to grab a drink and a quick bite to eat at the bar. The drinks were good the entrée(coconut shrimp) was huge, I’m glad that we split this. However the service at the bar once the bartender shift change happened went way down hill. We were never asked for another drink, or dessert. We waited and waited 20 minutes and the new bartender didn’t even look at us. I’m not sure if we will be back
