My first experience at Revel was when I went to dinner one night with a friend. My friend is vegetarian, and I don’t mind the [occasional] vegetarian meal. We decided to get a few veggie appetizers as sort of a tapas way of eating, so we can try more options. We ended up ordering the roasted cauliflower, spinach and artichoke flat bread, sweet potato gnocchi, and roasted brussel sprouts. None of the above mentioned dishes were notable. They lacked flavor, and tasted like nothing special. I decided to give the place another go with my husband for brunch. I ordered the eggs benedict, he ordered the garganelli bolognese. We were both unimpressed with the mediocre food. I will have to say we both devoured the complimentary basket of muffins that were delicious. We even ordered another basket(for an additional fee).

I don’t enjoy giving low ratings but this place definitely missed the mark. Bar drinks were watered down and when I approached the bar tender she gave me extreme attitude. At that point I just wanted to walk out. Water glasses had lipstick on them, fingerprints, and we’re not clean. Atmosphere design and booth arrangement are non welcoming and lack intimacy. Lighting design is contractor grade, poor fixture selection, and parking lot is highly visible from within. It was a one drink stay at Manhattan prices.

The food was mediocre at best, not at all fresh, just slop. Tater tots at brunch, tacos filled with coleslaw(really?), stale slider buns, I won’t go on(but I could!). For our 10:30 brunch reservation, the nice but confused hostess gave us lunch menus. We asked for brunch menus and she found them. We asked if we could also order off the lunch menu and confusion ensued. We were finally told we could order off the BRUNCH or DINNER menus. No one cared about refilling coffee, it was like a sad joke.

The cocktails are amazing. I highly recommend the pineapple bowl cocktail and he green goodness if you a thirst quencher drink. The service was also very good thanks to our waiter Alex S.

Went here a few weeks ago during restaurant week and it was delicious. Had the Tokyo nachos and the fra diavolo with seafood and they were both great. Alex was a great server who knew most of the menu by heart. Would go again, but slightly expensive. Makes sense with the area and feel of the restaurant.

I enjoyed another meal here, it was a nice Friday night meal in a lively atmosphere. I love the Pork Osso Buco, the Bass filet was mild, flaky and filling all at once. Not a budget meal, it’s a cut above that but well worth it. I’m coming back when I am in the area. Good: –Braised Short Rib Crispy Wontons(Appetizer) –Flash Fried Calamari(Appetizer) –Pork Osso Buco –Wild Bass Striped Filet –Straight forward service –RSVP through Open Table for 100 points Bad: –It was lively which is great, but it gets loud as a result

We went to Revel with a group, and few kids. The décor was pretty nice. The brunch menu was $ 23 with Coffee and desert for adults and $ 14 for kids under 12. The service was pretty cold, didn’t really feel inviting… It was as if the waitress was just serving and was not in the mood to talk or explain anything. Food was good not great, my most favorite was the crab and shrimp Omelette, my husband loved the short rib Omelette, others liked their dish. 2 stars for those two dish. My gripe is about 2 items that we ordered and the desert: Nutella french toast(3 people from our group ordered it) seemed like it was just toasted did not feel like it was made fresh or had a bit of butter. served with browning bananas and Nutella syrup. I just don’t understand how can you serve not fresh bananas? It takes 1 minute to peel and chop. VERY Disappointing. Lobster Mac and Cheese — I had a taste and it was delicious! We ordered that for my 5 year old niece, when we asked the waitress about the kids menu, she said all items from the regular menu are for kids but the portion is small. So we ordered the mac and cheese for her. Later when we received the check, they charged us full price!!! The waitress should have informed us but never did and we were running late so didn’t have time to haggle or fight with the unfriendly waitress. — SHADY business! The desert — We had a choice of Cheese cake Crème Brulee or Peanut Butter Cake. Everyone in our group opted for the Crème Brulee. Bad choice for half the party… I know it sounds weird since we all ordered the same thing. lol. Well some of us received very runny Crème… It was yucky runny and the others were lucky to get the good consistency ones. In all, I would probably never order it again… Most likely won’t return. but not 100% sure since the omelettes were very good.

(Went here as a group party, a Christening) Pros: 1) Food was really good, we had a set menu, but everything was really good except the bread actually. We had really good gnocchi and a really good turkey bacon club sandwich with fries. The soup(beans and veggies) was also really good, with a piece of cheesy garlic bread sitting in the middle that was really good too. 2) Service was decent. They were attentive, refilled our waters and wines quickly, and catered to the people that had severe dietary restrictions well. Cons: 1) We had the backroom, sort of, they sat a couple of couples with us, which was really awkward for us, and especially awkward for the random couples as we were a loud and boisterous group that overpowered them for sure. 2) They didn’t put our tables together, and left a large gap in between two sets of tables, which kind of divided our party, which was really odd, and unexplained, but we made it work. 3) PARKING is CRAZY, but not Revel’s fault, completely the town’s fault. You have to park«head in» in the stalls, which are standard perpendicular stalls, so backing in would actually make it way easier and safer to pull out after your meal. And if you don’t park super far away, it is only 1 hour parking versus 2 hour parking, and the cops come by like every 15 minutes(I think they hide on the other side of the building) giving tickets really quickly and then ducking for cover. Nuts. 4) The hostess wouldn’t let our party come into the restaurant, and made us wait outside in the cold and in the little entry way, completely blocking any customers from leaving — again, awkward. Maybe there was a reason for that, but we couldn’t figure it out. At least I could watch the football game through the glass, while freezing.

I am writing this review as I wait for my dessert. The noise level is ridiculous. The grilled octopus was so salty and over-cooked. My leg of lamb ordered medium-rare can out well done. The meat had lackluster flavor. Have a head ache and can’t wait to leave.

After skipping over Revel several times when choosing a place to go for LI Restaurant Week, a friend and I finally decided to try this place out last night. First impression: gorgeous boutique restaurant located in a chain of stores and other food places. There’s Novita and Waterzooi across the street, so I can see how Revel could be overlooked. However, boy am I glad I came here! We were seated at a table with couches and pillows. All the chairs had cushions so you weren’t uncomfortable if you sat there for 2 hours like we did. For apps, I chose the Caesar salad and my friend chose their butternut squash arancini. Yeah i know, salad is salad. However, this was one of the best Caesar salads I’ve tasted in a very long time! My friend’s arancini was like balls with some sugary glaze outside, served on a syrupy concoction. It was so delicious as well! To put her in words: «I can see myself craving this». For my main course: The skirt steak and truffle fries. This is where it took a bit of a tumble. The skirt steak was just all right, and the truffle fries didn’t have an ounce of truffle taste in them. This is always disappointing for me, a fry lover. My friend said her gnocci was pretty good, but she preferred her appetizer more. While our main courses were lacking, Revel certainly delivered on dessert. We both tried the cheesecake flavored crème brûlée, and wow, it left me speechless. YOUNEEDTOTRYIT! It’s like flan, custard, cheesecake, and dulce de leche rolled into one delicious bowl of goodness. I devoured the whole thing. Our service was great, and there was plenty of parking. I’m so glad I gave Revel a chance, and I will certainly be coming back for more.

I put trendy restaurant in the search bar. Location: Long Island NY. I was like ooo this is close by let’s go. I say to my husband. I’m looking for a place to have my birthday dinner. we sat at the bar and Tom helped us a jolly older man with an infectious smile. He made our drinks so well. My hubby had the dark and stormy. And I had the lychee martini. They have their drink garnishes in glass mason jars. we ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and shared. So delicious. The lighting nice. The music nice. The staff very helpful and welcoming.(I didn’t feel any racial connotations) Ok that’s it. I will consider having my dinner here and if I do you’ll see an update.

Restaurant review Came in for dinner at 8:30 on a Friday night. The weather was beautiful so it was pretty empty inside. Our Waiter Mike introduced himself as soon as we sat down & offered tap or bottled water and coxktails. I ordered the pineapple ball mojito cocktail. It was sweet & tasty. The wait staff bought water & warm bread with olive oil to the table. The bread was bland but tasty with the olive oil. We ordered the pear salad & veal and ricotta meatballs. The salad was a generous portion. The salad was so flavorful. The meatballs were tasty fried on the outside with a nice texture on the inside. The accompanying tomato sauce was fresh & very flavorful. For dinner I ordered the sea scallops with risotto. Holy sodium! They were so salty! I drank my water plus my husband’s! I scraped the top layer off & was able to enjoy it. Overall good concept & execution. Not much personality from our waiter & staff unfortunately. Not rushing back anytime soon.

My gf chose this place because one of her friends said that this place was really good. When i was reading the reviews on here i was very skeptical of the place. When we got here there was 2 bridal showers and they were setting up for another one they asked us if we wanted to sit outside. I wanted to eat outside anyway so it was a perfect fit. The décor is really nice and the place is huge. Our waitress was really good. She came to check on us alot which is a plus. For starters we had caesar salad calamari and the octopus. They were all delicious. Our waitress was shocked at how fast we devoured our plates. The octopus was cooked really well and it was the 2nd best octopus ive ever eaten. Mp has the best. The calamari was battered very lightly and was very moist. The red sause was perfect and so was the white sause. The salad was also good. The salamon that i had was very moist and cooked perfectly. And the sauce on the bottom of the plate was delicious. Everyone should try this place. Good food and good atmosphere. I would go here again.

I LOVE Novita across the street so I’ve eyeballed this place every time I’m there but never had a chance to make it here until this past Friday. It was dinnertime around 6pm. It was pretty much empty, but must have been because they were expecting a private party/large group coming because they seemed surprised we did not have a reservation. However, they were able to fit us in as we were a table of 2. So for future reference, I recommend considering making a reservation. We chose to sit in the quieter room(away from the bar where it was a little noisier). I liked that room with the bar though, nicely decorated with turquoise tints(I’m a sucker for décor, and it happens to be my favorite color too. Bonus points for that). The other room was okay, had a different feel to it — but you can view Franklin Avenue from your seat which was nice on this gorgeous day to see people out and about. Prices are on the higher side; however, most of the restaurants on Franklin ave/7th street are and there’s a certain sophistication at these places that make me not mind paying a bit more for the quality of experience/food. I got the Ricotta Gnocchi($ 21)(which is my #1 favorite food so I was thrilled to see it on the menu) and my boyfriend got the scallops($ 34?). I tried his risotto that the scallops came with– it was sooo creamy and delicious. I loved my gnocchi but it’s hard for me to not like gnocchi. Waitress was great, checking in often and enjoying our(attempts at) senses of humor so we appreciate that. I peeked at their brunch menu while I was waiting… and I saw 2 menu items that involved banana and nutella sooooo I will certainly be back for brunch sometime soon.

Brunch– Great service, comfortable seating, nice vibe. Bloody Mary’s(plural) made to order, spicy as requested. Burger(I know… but that’s what I was in the mood for) actually arrived rare as ordered. So while brunch menu not over the top, a decent place to spend some rare leisurely time with friends and family. Groupon pricing made this visit a no brainer

The Quick: 3.5 star restaurant, very trendy, good food with happy hour 7 days a week. The Details: The happy hour every day of the week until 7pm is a huge plus. The food was good but pricey for the area. Very Manhattan vibe but unfortunately it came with the Manhattan prices. The salads were very good, although they messed up my order, than brought me a drink I didn’t order and charged me for it. Moral of the Story: Overall it was a medium experience — not bad by any means but I’ve had better lunch/happy hour experiences in the area. I’d be willing to give Revel another try but won’t be rushing back.

Went for brunch with my family(of 4) while I was home for the holidays. We had a groupon that was $ 59 for 4 brunch meals with unlimited mimosas or bloody marys. I got the Chicken Avacado BLT. It was delicious. The fries tasted like McDonald’s, which I really enjoyed. Our waiter was nice. I asked for a bloody mary and a mimosa, not because I’m indecisive, but a lush, yes. He said OK, and brought me both. So thank you to you. The atmosphere was pleasant as well. I’d recommend.

I hosted a business lunch with clients during the World Cup, the place was packed with patrons I ate Lamb meatballs for my appetizer which were tender & seasoned perfectly, my lunch of Grilled chicken pailliard salad was filled with fresh cranberries, walnuts & fresh crispy spinach leaves. The chicken was prepped with a light olive oil glaze for a healthy lunch. Francine is the hostess who made sure luncheon moved very fast to meet my time deadlines. The rest rooms were just ok, they need to have more follow up to clean especially at busy times. Parking is very tight is a shared lot beeper pared to walk a good distance in this shared mall parking lot
