Nothing complicated about it. Go in, have a few drinks, make it a good time, because it always is. The bartender is awesome

Great place great atmosphere great beer. Not so clear on the pricing which seems to vary with each drink? The craft beers are super but very very expensive. Game nights are fun and sometimes it gets a little loud. All in all a really nice place.

I’ve been here a couple of times since I am a beer lover. They have and extensive craft beer list that is always changing so every time you go there, there’s a new beer to try. It’s a small place but it has TV’s everywhere so if you want to watch a game(any game), you can see it from pretty much any place in the bar. It’s a little divey but it’s not a crappy place to go. The bartenders are nice and it’s well kept. There is no kitchen, however they do have a free hot dog station and allow you to order delivery from other restaurants to the bar — sweet! Also there’s a bunch of board games, in case you get bored(get it?). This is a regular spot for me and is one of my favorite craft beer places! If you’re looking for a casual place to just hang out and have a drink, this is as good a spot as any.

Delicious beer Large selection Bathrooms were clean Has sections or ‘spaces’ which give it the tiered feeling of more space than there really is. I like the feeling of different nooks. Has a parking lot

Not«baaaaaaaaa-d» Black Sheep! For a chill Monday night birthday celebration, Black Sheep Ale House was the way to go! Black Sheep Ale House is the friendly, cozy neighborhood bar you wished was in your neighborhood. It’s got TV’s galore for sports buffs, a vast collection of dranks at reasonable prices, a large quantity of seating(and on top of that– very comfortable seating), AND a juke box! No line at the bar(remember, this was a Monday) and excellent service. There’s a nice nook in the back with cushions for you and your 10 favorite people. Trivia on Tuesday if anyone’s interested! It’s a popular haunt for the college and grad students around the neighboring communities.

I’ve been coming here for a good six years. Im not here every weekend and I pop in every once and a while. I have never had a problem with the service, a drink or anything here. I usually like to go on a Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday night when its quiet. It can get quite packed in here on a Thursday to Saturday Night. Sometimes your squeezing my way through people. The big guy that is bar tending often gives some good laughs. Overall it is a good place and my first go to bar choice.

With an ever changing menu of beer, this place is the ultimate of dive bars the quench your palate from hops to stouts. Amazing staff! Liam, Bob and Sara in particular. Just a great bunch of people. We always have a great time the juke box allows you to control or add to the music. Prices are great and so is the selection of beer.

Hands down the best beer selection in the area. Taps are constantly rotating and always plenty of interesting beers to be had. Street parking is a little tough this block though there is a muni lot across the street. Friendly staff and a fun laid back vibe. Board games galore and weekly trivia nights. Fantastic local bar

I don’t know how this place could warrant any complaints. From the top down, this is an awesome local spot with a fantastic beer selection, great people(Liam, Ian, Virginia are all awesome) and a charming little setup. ANDTHEYHAVEFREEHOTDOGS!

Beer, beer and more beer. Over 100 beers to choose from and free hot dogs! The Beertenders definitely know what they are talking about and have tons of knowledge about beer. They also have high end cocktails. Unassuming from the outside but a must stop for beer lovers.

My go to bar around town. Great selection of beer(even some of NY’s finest local microbreweries) and great laughs from Liam. There’s a wide variety of board games and darts. Also, be on the lookout for weekly trivia nights!

Great selection of ales and interestingly crafted cocktail recipes. However, the three cocktails I ordered seemed a bit rushed(I watched the preparation). Decent attempts all around. I understand it’s not a cocktail bar, just pointing that out. Didn’t like the non-attentiveness. Sat down for 10 minutes before I got up to ask a barhand if I had to order at the bar… turns out I had to, and carry the drinks back. This isn’t normal practice everywhere you go, especially when there are tables, so forgive my lack of telepathy here. When I reached the bar however, the bartender was quick to respond. I can see why some people would feel threatened by the scene. Definitely not enough of a gender balance in here. I don’t want to walk into a bar and see a bunch of dudes blocking my path to alcohol. There were exactly 10 females in there, and the bar was decently packed. Do the math. Parking in the back should be more lit, seems dangerous to have such a dimly lit area in such close proximity to a bar. Bathroom could be cleaner. I think the biggest turnoff for me is the responses by the owner. Knowing that the person behind the helms speaks like that to customers leaves a bad taste in my mouth. If you scroll down, you’ll see some very unprofessional responses to some Unilocal.I’m surprised Unilocal hasn’t removed them yet.

Came for Wednesday night trivia at 9:30 which started at 10:00pm… Place gets packed early so be warned to get there before 9 on Wednesday if you want a table. Check their facebook before hand to learn the categories which are really hard. If there is a tie between two teams in a round, its a chug off for the win. Still loving the free hotdogs and numerous beer selection. Staff is always great and helpful if you do not know beer like a pro.

Real Talk: When my Tinder date suggested this place, I was more excited about the extensive beer menu than actually meeting him. A word of advice, do your best to avoid the Friday night crowd. They’re obnoxious and loud, making it feel more like a frat party than the respectable brewhouse it is. I’m sure it’s a lot better on less busy nights, though. Prices are fair, and the selection couldn’t make me happier! I recommend Finch’s Hardcore Chimera Imperial IPA. Chalkboard restrooms are a nice touch, too. Will definitely return with friends for trivia night and free hot dogs. ;)

I can’t believe why I’ve never tried this place before. I must have passed by it hundreds, if not thousands of times. The location is so remote, I’m usually speeding by only to glance at the bar, curious to see what’s inside but not enough to stop by. It’s only now that I’ve decided to check this place out. There is a small parking lot in the back to fit several cars, otherwise you’ll have to find parking on the street. The bar is long in length. When you first enter, there are about a dozen seats along the perimeter of the bar. At the far end, is where a bunch of board games are available to play and YES, free hot dogs spinning on a hot dog roller grill, along with basic condiments(ketchup, mustard, etc.). Just behind it, is a room with tables and chairs to sit, relax and play a game or two. No kitchen is available beyond the hotdog roller grill, but feel free to bring your own food or snacks. A few people next to me brought several bags of chips and bowls to pour them into. Just stick to food that isn’t too smelly, as it is strictly a bar, not a restaurant. The beer selection is plastered across a few chalkboards behind the bar. It’s a bit awkward as you have to go from board to board to see all their beers on tap. But fortunately, most are craft beers on draft priced around $ 7-$ 8 each. Slightly pricey for Long Island, but worth it since I don’t have to trek to New York City or a larger bar like Croxley’s to try some of those beers. All in all, Black Sheep is a bar I will return to. I haven’t tried their hot dogs on my first visit, but will be sure to the next time I come around. For a Friday evening around 7PM, the bar was only partly crowded with 30-something year olds, with the majority of bar stools occupied and 2 – 3 tables in the back filled. Just to my liking: not too crowded that you can’t move around or have a conversation, and not too quiet that things become awkward during the silence. It’s a bar definitely worth checking out!

Cozy little bar :) Exhaustive beer list that’d satisfy any Irishman. Had 2 people at Sunday around 7:30pm but got a little busier throughout the night. Good for friend hangs and dates. The chalkboard walls of the bathrooms are a nice touch. FYI, parking in back.

Popped in with my wife and two friends early one Saturday night. Nothing particularly spectacular about the bar, but everything there was on point with helping you have a good time: * Great beer selections. * Friendly, knowledgeable bartenders. * Chill, friendly crowd. * Good music. * Plenty of TVs for sports. * Darts and games to play. * And, of course, free hot dogs :) If I was younger and still hanging out in bars, this would be a pretty cool spot to hang my hat :) Even for a pop in, you’ll feel right at home.
